Gavin Williams on the hill for Cleveland. He had a terrific month of June 1 thing that really sticks out is that this month he’s used his cutter 31% of the time. Much more than he has any time and swung on and hit high in the air to left center, drifting over one pitch one out here tonight in Cleveland Addison Barger, the banner left handed hitter in right field. Now the 22 got him swinging on the hard stuff. So gavin Williams with a strike out of Barger and there are two men out in the scoreless first inning and here’s Vlad Guerrero Junior swung on, popped him up. First baseman Carlos Santana back pedaling into shallow right that shoulder high catch one handed style. And what an inning for gavin Williams a nine pitch first inning. There is a lot of anticipation about this game tonight makes his long awaited return to the blue Jay rotation. If you are a fan of baseball, this game is for you and in particular, if you’re a Blue Jays fan buckle up because there’s a good chance you’re going to be on the edge of your seat for this one. The Blue Jays feel he is in a good position right now to give them five innings. That competitive fire is still burning very strong within Max Scherzer. He’ll do it again. A 32 ball four. So Stephen after he went down 0 to 2, works a nine pitch walk to start it off for Cleveland. Here’s Kyle Manzo. The DH Juan is running and it’s a swing and a Miss as Scherzer strikes out Manzo, there’s no throw. Kan steals second but Scherzer has his first out of the night runner at second one out. Here’s jose ramirez who went zero for five last night. This is a matchup between a no doubt first ballot Hall of Famer and in my opinion, another Hall of Famer reach 54 with runners in scoring position as well. They can use a lead early but jose whacks it into right field. Anyway, here comes around third base. He’ll score easily. Jose Ramirez with a single. Now, getting back to first throw gets away. Jose will head down to second. So it’s an RB I single. He’ll advance to second and Cleveland has the lead one to zero one. Cleveland runner at second one out. He did and he got him two down. Both outs for Scherzer tonight on strikeout. Here’s lane Thomas the center fielder, here’s the 02 and he got him a fastball right on the outside corner that touches 90 five. We’ll see Sman Jones and Arias hitter, 67 and eight in stephen Boats lineup, Daniel S lines one to center for a base hit. And once again, Cleveland has the leadoff batter aboard. Get Scherzer right back into the stretch. Now, Nolan Jones, here’s a ground ball to third clement, the quick toss to bat and on the first for a double play and that’s exactly what a max needed. Here’s Gabriel Arias, it’s a big two hopper to short and it’s a quick inning for Scherzer 7-Up, 7 down and 19 pitches is all it is taken. Here’s the left fielder. Another left handed batter Allen Roden strike three just like that three pitch strikeout. Roden is the second out and now Andresen will bat with two down and nobody on in the air to left juan still going back and it’s carrying all the way to the wall. He’ll play it back into the infield, but not in time and Jimenez goes the other way for a two out double. So the first baserunner of the night for the Blue Jays comes with two outs in the third and now it’s Boche checking the runner comes to the plate and it’s swung on a smash to short gobbled up by a Plants guns got him. My goodness, just 28 pitches for gavin Williams to Cruz through the first three innings. Manzo is aboard with the second walk issued by Maser. Here’s jose ramirez with the RB I single right back in the first one. Well, right field larger moving back now stops 15 ft in front of the warning track. He’ll make the catch with one hand and the beat goes on for Williams who’s allowed just one hit. Vladimir guerrero will step in. Guerrero is starting to get it rolling a little bit at the plate but those power numbers not quite where he hopes they would be each season. Guerrero hits a high fly ball to left field. Quan is back, he’ll turn and watch it go. Vladimir guerrero Jr with his 11th home run of the season and he has tied the game for the third time in last five games. He’s played at this ballpark. Vladimir guerrero junior scales that high wall and left for a home. Max Scherzer had some command issues allowed a run in the first but he has settled in nicely. Thomas Goodwill is over at first base. Kirk throws well behind the plate for the Blue Jays runner goes throw down from the puts the tag on Thomas Alejandro. Kirk has thrown out another runner now, 2 to 2 pitch to Sman swung on and that’s lifted high in the air deep down the right side and it is hooking fair into the corner extra bases Forman on his way to second and he is in with a stand up double wild pitch for Max Scherzer bounced in front of the plate by a decent margin and moves up 90 ft and the Guardians have that runner scoring position with two down for Nolan Jones. Guardians and Blue Jays tied at one and now time is called and it was a pitch clock violation ball four Jones takes first base and Scherzer is not happy about it at all. It’s a shame after he had worked hard to get back. Arias steps in 1st and 3rd, 2 down. Big run standing at third base, swung on and that’s drilled right center field and it splits the gap. One, hop up against the wall in right center. One run is in that Jones motoring home. Here’s the relay. He slides, he’s safe close play at the plate. Jones made it. It’s a two run double from Gabriel Arias and the Guardians are back in front. It’s now 3 to 1. We will never know. But that violation on Scherzer to put Jones gave him what appeared to be a favorable matchup did not work out advancing to second is Manzo. And with two down, Carlos Santana will be the batter, the 2 to 2 and a curveball to get him. And in the inning, the fourth strikeout of the night for Max Scherzer, quite possibly his last pitch and a handshake from John Schneider and Pete walker and a lot of high fives from his teammates. So Scherzer is clearly done five innings, three runs on six hits , walk, three struck out four, the bases are loaded. All of a sudden, it’s like gavin Williams has lost it a single back to back walks. That’s going to load the bases for a guy who hit a grand slam last night in George Springer. You never know when you might get another chance. They’ve got some good arms. The Guardians do down in that bullpen. This might be the inning and another breaking ball and this is hit to right center. It’s dropping and down here comes Barger, here comes Guerrero and they will both score on a two run single for Springer that has tied the game. Another clutch hit for the Blue J DH 1st and 2nd. Still just one out. Here’s Lucas swung out of chopper to second. Siemen to second one. Arias Guns. It not in time initially and that little bit of a delay cost Cleveland an inning ending double play. Toronto is challenging the out call at second base was the the bag before he caught the ball. What a pickup. It sure looks like it have to review. The call on the field is overturned. The runner in second is safe. Toronto will retain their challenge. So Williams night is done. So matt Festa is into the game. Now for the Guardians, the bases are loaded with one out for Ernie Clement as the Blue Jays will look to take the lead. Clement loops one to shallow right center field and it’s caught a sliding catch. Here comes Kurt and he will score. They saw the slide out in center and Kirk, no doubt with the guidance from Carlos down in third. Kirk Scampers home for the go ahead run. And how about Max Scherzer in line for the win? Now, Wayne Thomas will start it off for the guards. You go back to the beginning of the 2024 campaign. Cleveland is one of the best comeback teams in all of baseball. You have to do it again here tonight. It’s that one hard to left up. It goes and now made it off looked like that ball was still going up when it went over the rail. Cleveland ties the game lane Thomas his second home run in as many nights that didn’t take long. No, not at all. Two down. And here’s Allen Roden bases loaded two down game still tied at 40 for three. He struck it up to get out of it. What a job by Juni Emmanuel class is on the pitch. It’s a 44 game here in the ninth and Clase makes his 36th outing two down in the ninth game tied at four. Here’s Vlad guerrero Junior. Now the pitch swung on line to center but right, there’s Thomas to make the shoulder high catch. Can Cleveland walk it off. We’ll find out 44 going to the bottom of the ninth and the Blue Jays go to a struggling closer talking about Jeff Hoffman and he comes in to a tie game boy, very seldom do you see the road team bring their closer into a tie game winning run at first two down in the ninth game tied up at four, the one one and a chopper award. Second, here comes Jimenez and that’ll be that the side is retired and it is on to extra innings here. Now, there are two. Now, there are two men out and the banner will be Ernie Clement. So now base hit would give Toronto two runs. Here it comes, swung and grounded to third ramirez clubs. You’ll have to hurry the throw. They do not challenge. It was that close. Kyle Mano lifted for a pinch hitter. It’s David Fry the pitch. He squares, he bunts third base side, the beauty, the catcher Hyman up with the, everybody’s safe. He looked to third, he looked to first and he didn’t throw anywhere and everybody on their feet, nobody out for guess who Jose ramirez batting right handed Guardians looking for another comeback win. Jose base hit to left the comeback hit strike again. They get their walk off win number four and they knock off the Jays 5 to 4 in 10 innings.

  1. Do the editors for these game clips purposely edit in the “oh he hasn’t been hitting any home runs recently…” and then the next clip is the player hitting a home run? I see it all the time watching these

  2. Who cares, Cleveland likes and prefers football and basketball over boring baseball anyways. I'm sure if you ask anyone from Cleveland they would rather have either the Browns win the Super Bowl or the Cavs in the NBA win the Larry O'Brian rather than have the Guardians win the commissioner's trophy.

  3. Would be nice if the jays bullpen stepped up every once in a while. Feels like we can only win when the starters have a fantastic night.

  4. Max Scherezer was awful…ball , ball, ball, ball…walk…Homerun…he is far from a starter…please…I've seen enough of him…
"Berrios" is our best pitcher period!😊

  5. Max Scherzer Is Back And He Is A Hall Of Famer. One Of The Best Pitchers Of All Time. 6. I knew as soon as I saw Fluharty warming up in the Jays pen, I knew it was over for the Jays. The guy is such a useless relief pitcher.
