we’re going to move on though to the 1500 m and well this is the first race we will have seen where of course we don’t have two separate heats Rob the men’s 1500 meters they are away and what a race in prospect Merchian of Armenia going straight to the front 342 at the European indoor championships this year he was third at the team champs in 2023 and look how quickly the field of split this is a great start from the Armenian he’s a 149 800 meter runner and the Andoran is right on his heels with Samaric who ran a PB here last year 353 in form and in third place alex Yes and it was interesting what you were saying about Catalabania good to see him in this i think that makes it 16 Andorans that are now doing at least one event if indeed the the relay selections uh depends on on exactly how that works out but yeah Calabanya first and Pandoraan ever to make a European final and that was in the steeple chase last year of course but does have very good pedigree in this event as well and uh this could be another close race that said as we can see here there’s a bit of a breakaway of four out front well this is a great lineup isn’t it because it’s Merchian the Armenian who’s twice won the steeplechase in 2017 and 21 he leads Carabana who was seventh in the European Championships last year heaps of the Olympic Games won the small states 5,000 meters he’s on his shoulder the Bosnian Samaric he’s in third who ran a 353 PB on the 5th of June and Cluckers the Luxembourg athlete in fourth place and these four have a sizable gap over the rest but look how beautifully poised Carabano is on the shoulder of Merchesen carabana has got such speed endurance Alex with the steeplechase with the 5,000 meters and the knowledge that he made history for Andor with that under 23 steeplechase bronze back in 21 cracking climax of the racing prospect
