The sixth edition of the Dow Championship featured a $3.3 million purse, with $402,691 going to the winning team. LPGA sophomores Somi Lee and Jin Hee Im became the first winning team to each earn their first LPGA titles at the Dow.
The pair of South Koreans are now the 50th and 51st South Koreans to win on the LPGA after defeating Americans Lexi Thompson and Megan Khang on the first playoff hole. After the two teams finished knotted at 20 under, they went into a sudden-death playoff at Midland Country Club, starting on the par-3 18th. Thompson stuffed it to 5 feet in the alternate-shot format, and then Lee hit it to about 9 feet. After Im drained the putt for birdie, Khang couldn’t convert to extend the playoff.
Jin Hee Im and Somi Lee of South Korea celebrate after Lee’s putt on the fifth hole during the final round of the Dow Championship 2025 at Midland Country Club on June 29, 2025 in Midland, Michigan.
“If I had it alone I can’t make it,” said Im. “I think we’re best team ever. I hopefully we coming back next year.”
