Aaron Rodgers in his prime vs. Patrick Mahomes today — Who’s better? | NFL | THE FACILITY
www.youtube.com/@TheFacilityonFS1

Big, big, Big Ben. Ben Ben Roethlisberger
says he would take Aaron Rodgers in his prime
over Patrick Mahomes currently. James who are you taking
prime Rodgers or Mahomes. Well first off hey
man hey, look at me. They don’t have Big Ben. I’d have us up here arguing. Are you serious though. No don’t take him serious. No, man. I’m taking prime Aaron
Rodgers, prime Aaron Rodgers. And I agree with what Big
Ben said in their prime. Aaron Rodgers is probably
the greatest we’ve ever seen. Play the quarterback spot. And I don’t care nothing
about no Super Bowls. None of that. They don’t matter about
playing the game of football. Prime Aaron Rodgers
was cold blooded. We talking about four times MVP. That means you are the best
player in the National Football League. He has four of them. Not only that turn your eyeballs
on all these quarterbacks we watch now. They want to throw like Aaron
Rodgers inside the pocket. Outside the pocket they are
looking for that Aaron Rodgers. He changed the way you play the
game at the quarterback spot. From outside the pocket for
sure throwing this football. Aaron in his prime was
absolutely special. There was nobody better
in my humble opinion, to do it in Erin’s prime
than Aaron Rodgers. And I don’t care
anything about them. Super Bowl Shady McCoy. That’s right, that’s right. I know with me because I
played against this boy. That’s your opinion. I mean you saying like he
don’t care about championships. Don’t get them. We don’t play for that. We do. He got one. We do play for that. But man, you can go. I’m going to go. I don’t think anybody’s
better than Aaron Rodgers. That’s crazy. I just don’t again, I’m
not going to lie to you. I don’t think any I
don’t think anybody is better than Aaron Rodgers. First off Aaron Rodgers has a
Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP. So it’s not as though Aaron
Rodgers doesn’t have a Super Bowl nor Super Bowl MVP. And I think he won
those before his prime. I had to play against
Aaron Rodgers. So you could say I’m biased. Aaron Rodgers could
throw different. Aaron Rodgers could
run well enough to make him be able to run
different Aaron Rodgers from a platform perspective. One different Aaron
Rodgers between the ears. Different remember Aaron
Rodgers has 48 touchdown passes in one season in
like four interceptions in the same season. Beautiful people
in the same season. Mahomes goes crazy crazy. Mahomes will likely end
up being the second best, if not the best of all time. But if you’re talking peak,
if you’re talking peak. Aaron Rodgers also
did this with the head coach, who we
don’t know how good he is outside of Aaron Rodgers. Remember Andy Reid
outside of Patrick Mahomes went to four straight
conference championship games, including a Super Bowl
like Andy Reid has already proven himself as well. There’s nobody Tom
Brady, Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes, Terry Bradshaw,
John Elway, Joe Namath. There is nobody,
in my estimation, like prime Aaron Rodgers. Not like Aaron Rodgers. But there’s nobody like
prime Aaron Rodgers. This is really like seriously
though, we should do a podcast. This is podcast talk
podcast talk because you just speak your opinion right. With no real facts
to back it up. Because if Aaron
Rodgers is so great, how y’all say he is in his prime. How is it possible
for you to only have one Super Bowl appearance. Team success. Well, that’s what
quarterbacks do. The greats we talk about. They win championships.
They win championships. That’s why we play the game. All the greats in basketball
we talk about that’s that’s driving the bus. That’s so great to say that
if Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant or LeBron James, right. Because y’all saying
he’s the greatest of all time in his prime in his prime. Madison dudes in a prime only
even seeing the finals one time. That’s embarrassing. And Big Ben I don’t
really I don’t really take a lot of these big because
Big hates two time Super Bowl champion. Yeah one thing about Big
Ben, if you play 18 years, you have no all-pros not
one, not one person, not one second Team Championship. I don’t this is just me. I don’t respect players that
talk about greats a certain way, and you have no where the
type of success they have. Super Bowls you play for 18
years, you play for 18 years, and you never was
considered the best quarterback or the second
best quarterback in football. I I can’t really joke with that. But let’s go to my real take. It’s not about a Big Ben
because Big Ben playing around. So y’all say Aaron
Rodgers prime correct. So I’ll say from 2011 to maybe
like 2016 that was his prime MVP stats and all that. Let’s go to that. So in his prime
from 2011 to 2016 he’s had five playoff
wins and 0 I mean like 0 like no Super Bowl appearance. So to be that great on
the team success I’m not going to disrespect
Patrick Mahomes and even play that
game with him. I’m not going to his prime airs. I’m not going to these years. I’m going to the last two years. Because you say his
last year hasn’t been his best correct team success. Patrick Mahomes last two
years haven’t been his best. Correct That’s not that cool. And Patrick Mahomes I guess
worst years of his career in his last two years. Not a problem with
his last two years. He has six playoff wins and
2 Super Bowl appearances, so that means at his worst
compared to Aaron Rodgers’ best. I’m always going to
be in the Super Bowl. Team success. I’m always being the Super Bowl. So to your tape I’m not
done, not done I’m not done. I got some I’m right
because with Pat because with Patrick
Mahomes, the disrespect he’s not even in
his prime is crazy. So yeah I’m going to
play crazy with Big Ben. And I’m going to say, OK.
He’s not in his prime. He’s not even 30 yet. But cool. But I’m saying in my worst years
Aaron Rodgers I’m at your best because at your best, at
your best, at your best. James Jones you haven’t even
seen the Super Bowl only one time in your whole career. At My worst, I’ve been the
Super Bowl back to back years. So with your take. So with your take. Leshaun Shady. Come on, man. That’s right. Big Ben is better
than Aaron Rodgers. How he has two championships
because you keep going team success bro with your take. You watch the games don’t you. You watch Aaron Rodgers. I have. Because if you watch prime
Aaron Rodgers because that’s what we’re talking about. We’re not talking
about team success. We’re talking about Patty
and Aaron as players. When you talk about a four time
MVP in Aaron Rodgers and the way it looked in his prime, it was
different than Patrick Mahomes. And it shows because
he’s only been the best one time in his prime
and he’s still in his prime. I’m not going to go there
with Big Ben either, but he’s only been
the best one time. This dude has been
the best four times. When you talk about
just the player, the best player in
his prime that we’ve ever seen at that
quarterback spot is Aaron Rodgers team success. I won’t argue with you. Plenty more
quarterbacks got more Super Bowl rings talking about. So first of all,
the elite company we’re talking about we’re not
talking about Jalen Hurts. We’re not talking
about no Brock Purdy. We’re not talking about no no. Guys that are just playing
around Super talent. And we’re just going
to let the team. We’re not talking
about them guys. We’re talking about elite guys. You’re talking about
let’s be a little more respectful a little bit. Number two. Number champion. Hold on. Number 2 is for
you to be so great. Like y’all keep telling
me he is right because you keep saying how great he was. You tell me how he’s one
of the best of all time. The way he played in his prime. Tell me how it’s
possible for you to only have one
Super Bowl appearance. But that’s part of it. Though it matters when we
talk about great players, when we talk about the
Jordans, we’re going to talk about the MVPs, OK. We’re going to talk about the
we’re going to talk about Kobe’s MVPs, but we’re also
going to talk about you winning championships.
Let me keep going. Keep cooking. Peyton Manning. Hey, man was a phenomenal
great quarterback, right. We thought it was MVPs. We’re going to talk about
championships Brett Favre everybody. You can talk about Tom Brady. I don’t know who looks better
throwing the ball with Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers. Maybe you could tell
the people that. But what I can tell you is
the better quarterback won. He won stats and accolades
and he won championships. Let me answer his question
though because he crazy. He answer. He said, tell me
how it’s possible. I would suggest it was
possible because Jordy Nelson was ready to receive
an onside kick against the Seattle Seahawks. And if I’m not about to do this. But you said how it’s possible
if you said how it’s possible. It’s either if he’s either that
kept him from one at minimum that kept him from another one. I could go to every player
and say that with man. I can say when the
Chiefs played in 2020, when the Chiefs played the Bucs,
he had both his tackles out. He made no excuses for this. What are we talking about. If I could say if this
dude didn’t catch the ball, if the Titans when they
played the Patriots and McNair throws the ball, it was a one. He threw it to short. It was a 1 yard. Can we please not do that. Because that’s not football. But then if you’re
saying how it’s possible, I’m only trying to give you the. The only reason I can suggest
Aaron Rodgers at least then go to another one. Because I don’t
bring up the Falcons. How the Falcons scored 40
points and Aaron Rodgers scored like 30 or 16
or something like that. I don’t bring up the egregious
defenses because Shady is right. Quarterbacks should be able
to overcome all of that. Talking about you’re the best. You should be able to
overcome all of that. But at the point in which
it’s the very end of the game, the only one excuse, only one,
I’m only giving Rodgers one excuse of his 20 year career. I’m giving him one Shady. You got to make me one. Just one. The on side kick. It’s an onside kick. All you got to do is recover. It’s an onside kick. Just one Shady. I’m not giving them bad
defenses because though there were and I could
hear that argument, I’m not going to give him that. I’m not going to
give him injuries. The onside kick against the
Seahawks James was it Andy. What year 2016
2014 I think 2014. The onside kick is the one
I’m going to ask one more question NFC NFC I’m
going to ask one more question I got the answers. Name me another. Because you guys are
saying that he’s so great. Yes name another
great Dan Marino. Hold up, hold up I
think Dan was great. I’m a pick guy. But Dan Marino was great. I’m a he went to Pitt, I love
Dan I’m not going to put Dan up there with the Tom Brady’s. I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to do that. I just can’t do that. A guy that won
seven championships, you got Montana win three
four or something like that. I’m not going to put
I’m not going to put just championships but finish. Let him finish. What do we play for, James. What are we playing for. What I’m saying you came in
once and say championships. And then another sense. Say, Big Ben can’t be in the
conversation when you are. When you’re a GOAT. Big Ben’s a good quarterback. I don’t put him up
there with the GOATs. When you’re a GOAT,
you have accolades. You have championships. That’s what it is. Oh there’s Charles. It’s great players
in all sports. All right. And how you make how you become
GOATs is you win championships, bro. And you have accolades. That’s how it works, correct. Yeah OK. So what I’m saying is
name me another GOAT type player that as a
quarterback that only has one Super Bowl appearance. So what I will say to that
is because that’s all you’re going back to is Super Bowls. You’re not answering. You’re not. Let me do it again, James. For Aaron Rodgers
to be so great, I just want you to name me. Give me nobody great like
Aaron Rodgers that has won. That’s the answer. Your question. Is there any other
quarterback that’s so great. There’s only I would say
Dan Marino and he has none. He was great. He has none. But your argumentative putting
all these quarterbacks in front of Aaron Rodgers that
you put in front of them, you always say championships. So what. So hold on. So what I’m saying is Big
Ben is top 10 top five in a lot of categories. Which means he was a
great player playing at the quarterback spot. And he’s a two time champion. You wouldn’t fix
your lips to say he’s better than Aaron Rodgers. Nobody in the world would. So all I’m saying is
winning championships. You have to be a
good quarterback. But that’s team success. I’m individual. Aaron Rodgers in his
prime is the greatest we’ve seen at that spot. What I’m saying is so
when we talk about GOATs I don’t fix my lips to
say Big Ben’s a GOAT. I never talk like that. No I think he’s a
really good quarterback. I don’t put him as
one of the greatest. I don’t do that. There’s only a
certain group that’s going to sit-in their seats. The Last Supper with
Jesus and all that. Those are disciples. Those are the special
group of guys. Big Ben’s outside of that room. We talking about the elite. The elite guys, bro. So what I’m saying is,
name me some elite guys. We’re talking about the GOATs. The greatest of all time. So it’s not. It’s only a couple of seats. It’s not a whole bunch of seats.
The one so. And them seats. Let’s hear me out in
them seats, though, because you can’t be an all
time great type GOAT player without having accolades. You can’t have it. You got to have some MVP. You gotta have some some. First of all, you got to
have them things right. So the two that I
then you have that and then you get into the
championship, it’s all together. The two that I would have is
Dan Marino and Aaron Rodgers. So who’s Judas is
just I don’t know. But Dan Marino and
Aaron Rodgers is at the table and the
other dudes at the table. You’re probably going to take
Dan Marino and Aaron Rodgers before some of them
dudes still because they have more championships. That’s because if we look
at the GOATs, we got to go. But I’ll say this
Patrick Mahomes is going to be eating with with
with Joe Montana and Tom Brady. They’re going to
have a whole they’re going to have a whole meal. Peyton and Aaron, they’re going
to be waiting to get their food. And in their prime, they’re
all going to be behind Aaron. That makes no sense. It does. But your friends though I get.

  1. Aaron was the most gifted passer I’ve ever seen
He was mobile, had a really strong arm, smart and could make every throw – but playing QB is more than talent.

It’s about leadership (he’s an awful leader), it’s about rising to the occasion when it’s needed most (he’s didn’t do that many times in the post season) and it’s about getting the best from your teammates (and he didn’t).

Aaron is my second fav QB ever behind Steve Young

I think had he won just one more SB I could agree that he was a better QB but he didn’t

I know it’s a team sport and Mahomes has had better teammates, better coaching and a better run organization but 20 years and just one SB appearance deads this argument IMO

Just look at how Aaron handled things this year.
New team, new system, new city but he waits to the very last minute to sign when he could’ve been forging a bond with his offensive teammates, learning the play book, etc.
    He’s such a narcissistic a hole

  2. I can't stand the Chiefs but I'm a realist Pat Mahomes is better than Aaron Rodgers in any year Mahomes has won 3 Super Bowls and appeared in 5 Aaron Rodgers he could never get pass the 49ers and he has 1 Super Bowl appearance Mahomes just went to 3 straight Super Bowls and won 2 straight there are levels and Pat is in a league of his own

  3. Mahomes has a Headcoach thats took himself 25 years to blossom. It all comes down to destination and luck. Aaron Bleeping Rogers hands down, king of hail Mary. Only he could be 3rd and 26 from-his own 3 and convert a first down, than throw another
Marry to tie the game. No other qb past present and future could of done that!!

  4. Only 7 QBs won a Superbowl from the Wild Card…Zero are named Mahommes. Best Passer rating all time….Not Mahommes. Touchdown to INT ratio…not Mahommes . 4 MVPs …Not Mahommes. We can nitpick over stats all day but if you saw them both play….then you know. There was no one like Rodgers. If you aint talking Brady or Manning , there is nobody close.

  5. Wow. Nobody mentioned Drew Brees. Cmon James where ya knowledge at. He got 1 ring and have all the accolades

  6. Fortune seems to favor those who don’t cheat the game and those who do tend to come up short come up short where they cheated the game at.

  7. Hard to say what qb was better without adding who played around them and coached them isn’t shady always talking about how Andy Reid hands down best head coach of all time well pretty sure Andy’s greatness also had a choice of who played around them 🤷🏽

  8. It doesn't matter if mahomes wins 10 more SB….every year this is going to happen where ppl want to scratch and dig to find whos better then him……..Fact is 1- different style of qb…2- different era of football…3- different team environment…4- different coaches….i can set here and say 5 or 6 QBs better then mahomes BUT they played different styles under different circumstances and rules of the game ….i would like to see one show where its all about the goodness of each player and not the whos better….In there "prime" 96% QB in nfl where great…thats why they play in the NFL.

  9. to me mahomes is aaron rodger 2.0. Aaron rodgers made slightly more insane throws then mahomes but its pretty close. You can go with either one I wouldnt disagree. But when it come to making the most impossible throws its arron rodgers for me

  10. Mahomes benefits more from a softer gen with even more protection for QB and wr. It’s in 4k, defenses scared to hit him while he fakes to run out of bounds. Add the legal sports gambling also. The GOAT talk is never ending because more than likely there will be another QB that comes into the league sometime during Mahomes career. Will be considered generational and a GOAT. Happens everytime

  11. With this stupid take it is so hard to take this show seriously u are high as a kite taking Rodgers. Make 6 strait championship games first.

  12. LeSean McCoy thinks he's a politician. How you going to say mahomes has more super bowls than Rogers which is true. But then in the same breath turn around and say because Big Ben only has two super bowls and no all pros he's not allowed to speak on this. Shady in your prime you have no super bowls. You got two super bowls as a backup congratulations.
So in their prime would you take shady,l in his prime or Isaiah Pacheco

  13. Im with shady,I've been watching and playing football since I could walk and Arron Rodgers is not as great as alot of ppl are saying. Yes he's a good QB not saying that but it's about 10 QB'S that I would take over A Rod. 2nd just like shady said if Rodgers was so great why only 1 superbowl?? He had Hella WR'S to throw to along with a good TE, packers has always had good running game and a legit defense. With all that and has 1 superbowl?? Come on now.

  14. Shady you nuts. Big Ben been to 3 super bowls should have won all 3. Plus hardest to get down and a good ball thrower amd never had a losing season

  15. The real question is what made Mahomes so successful in terms of winning? Did he have the better coaching and all-around squads?

Mahomes has 3 rings and still counting. Rodgers has one in 20 seasons.

I think Mahomes is better in late game situations for sure. He’s as good as Brady in those situations.

  16. I just realized they didn’t say a “prime” Mahomes, meaning we are comparing a prime Rodgers to a Mahomes yet to reach his prime.

This is a major 🥜 hugging segment here.
