what’s going on giants fans i’m back here with another video and i figured i would come back around after all the dust has settled after free agency and after the draft which the giants absolutely killed the draft but now that the schedule’s been out everything that we needed the meat and potatoes as we’re heading right into the summer portion of the season i need to address this i felt like i had to address cuz right now all i all i see out there is so much fear from giants fans based on the fact that the giants have let’s be honest a brutal schedule the first few weeks are brutal and it continues on but i want to remind you this what this video is about we’re going to go over some things here and i’m here to tell you a few reasons why the fear is not valid and actually the giants are going to be a lot better than a lot of people are giving them credit for let’s get into it so first and foremost i mean you look at this schedule on paper right off the bat giants playing you know two divisional rivals right out of the gates there and they don’t even have a home game until the third game of the season which i mean look you’re going to open up the season against the chiefs whatever bring it on now my mindset going into this season is i want i want to be proven i want the giants to be tested on a weekly basis and i don’t want no you know situation where the giants wind up in 2022 where basically due to a weaker schedule you know it was kind of a mirage we we got to the playoffs yes we won a playoff game but obviously that team had no business building off of that continuity because they weren’t they weren’t a good team but so much has changed and 2024 is in the past we’re now in 2025 and the first thing that we have to address no team in the national football league entering the 2025 season is the exact same team that they wore in 24 nobody world champions all the way down to the very first pick to the bottom tier team some teams got better and some teams got worse in this off season and no matter who you are no matter what expert you want to listen to no matter what your credentials are if you’re a just a fan a former gm a former player or a journalist not a single person on this planet who follows the national football league can say with a straight face that the new york giants did not significantly improve in this off season we go back we fast forward to the the end of the season john mara doesn’t fire anybody he essentially we won’t say extends shane and dable but he gives them a leash to go out and build a team that maybe you think can compete and build a team that maybe saves your job right so right out of the gate we we see what joe shane is going to do in free agency attack attack attack the defensive side of the ball and what we have now with the giants on defense is something from top to bottom i don’t think is getting nearly enough credit and so your first two big names that the giants bring in on free agency right in the back end of the defense of the secondary you’re getting paulson adbo massive upgrade at the corner position for the giants and then you’re bringing in javon holland who was for many people one of the top three overall free agents period coming into this off season and the number one safety by most people’s marks in the entire nfl free agency this year so joe shane immediately addresses two weak spots and solidifies that back end of the secondary now the secondary last year banks had a sophomore slump but was overshadowed by the excellent rookie play by drew phillips so now you have drew phillips you have banks who i’m not as low on banks as a lot of people are there’s a lot there and i think surrounding him with even more talent around him is only going to make him a better player but now look at the secondary you got guys you got tyler nuben who was an outstanding rookie last year you got him now anchoring that secondary in the back end with javon holland immediate upgrade at the safety position two excellent safeties that you now have roaming the back end of the field you have now three really good quarterbacks in my opinion so you have a debo uh quarterback number one but phillips going to be playing in the slot not too far off and then you have banks so you have three aggressive corners your top three tier corners giants right there immediate upgrade in the back end of the field the middle of the field the giants defense relatively stays the same excellent middle linebackers and ok and mcfaden staying where they’re at anchors in the middle of that defense and then you get to the front and i don’t care if you hate the giants i don’t care if you can’t even stand the sight of big blue in general you cannot deny the giants have quite possibly the most lethal front in the entire nfl you bring in first we’ll address you bring in chanty goston from dallas had his best season so far in the nfl last year due to a lot of injuries in dallas he got a lot of playing time another big guy big body that’s going to go down there in the middle uh with dexter lawrence but you so those names right then and there on the defensive side of the ball and then moving away from free agency for a moment you go to the draft you get the number one player in the entire draft by most people’s standards abdul carter was you know projected to go number one for months leading up to the draft quarterback happy team like the tennessee titans decides not to take him they take cam ward works out brilliantly for the giants you get abdul carter a generational pass rusher i mean the giants haven’t had this caliber of player in a long time on defense in the first round of the draft now he’s right there in the mix with brian burns kavon tibido right who you extend and then the monster in the middle lawrence in the middle and then you to the third round you get darius alexander who a lot of people had going in the second round another steel for the giants another huge body that the giants put in that middle and you’re surrounding that middle piece with big guys like dexter lawrence like alexander like like golston and now you have them on the ends with burns carter tibido and then you go to the back end again the giants won super bowls in ‘ 07 and 11 by having an excellent pass rush up front with a kind of mediocre secondary this secondary is far from mediocre so if that up front so if that giants pass rush up front can remotely live up to the hype you know that they’re going to bring that kind of pressure on the back end that’s a game changer that’s a game changer on defense for the new york giants and easily the strength of the entire team and again no matter what you think of the giants that is lethal that’s deadly on paper absolutely deadly on paper so that’s the first key point number one the giants addressed on the defensive side of the ball completely changing the entire look of that defense you’re going to have barring injuries one of the best in the entire nfl so the defense solidifies itself as the strength of this team in the 2025 season but the giants weren’t done the second key factor for me of why i don’t think this giants team is going to be nearly as bad as people think they are i think the win total that the vegas odds have us have around five and a half wins under six wins for the giants that’s that’s absolute but then in the offensive side of the ball you bring in jameus winston and russell wilson so you bring them in in march and you’re thinking okay the giants now especially with the signing of wilson have without a doubt the most competent quarterback they’ve had since eli manning walked out the door and you bring in jameus winston what a great backup to have not only is this guy a leader he’s fun to be around but the guy the guy makes football fun he’s fun to watch but you got him sitting behind russell wilson and you’re going to the drafts okay what are you going to do on offense are you still getting a quarterback yes you are now for various reasons that’s all been addressed sanders obviously we all watched what happened slides out of the out of the planet during the draft now those teams you’re you’re looking at a couple quarterback happy teams in the middle of the draft are they going to get a quarterback if they were going to get him it was going to be jackson dart at that point the giants sense this joe shane sense this the giants trade back into the first round and get their man brian dable finally gets his man and by all accounts you look at some of these quarterback scouts and quarterback gurus that are going over they’re giddy they’re absolutely giddy over what the marriage between brian dable and jackson dart is going to look like and you can see it look at the videos not just the draft call when they’re calling jackson dart and the selection is made i mean brian dable is a guy that knows he just saved his damn job potentially and then you see the first few videos and reactions at practice the vibe around the coaching staff and the team is entirely different because the reality is there’s a guy in the building now that a lot of people believe in so you get jackson dart you get the guy that you finally been looking for a firstround quarterback that you can mold and project into the image that brian dable wants and i’m one of these people that tells you right now there is no chance in hell that jackson dart is going to be a red shirt rookie in the national football league this kid will start at some point this season i don’t care if it’s be if the giants are winning games or not i can’t wait to see what happens when dart gets into that offense but the giants didn’t just stop there on offensive side of the ball in the draft you get an unbelievable steal to me you have two back-to back steels in the fourth and fifth round and number four in the fourth round you get cam scatteraboot my favorite running back entering this entire draft i had there was no doubt in my mind he was going to be off the board by the second maybe third round and to go in to that day and seeing that he was still there i knew right then and there there’s got to be a chance there’s got to be a chance somebody in that building’s got to love this kid he’s a maniac he’s a maniac he runs through people and here’s where the giants come in and in my opinion had another steal marcus bo offensive lineman all big 10 massive kid out of purdue there were people that had this kid going as late as the late first round or top of the second round the giants get an absolute steal in the fifth round so you get a big guy who’s played tackle he’s played guard he can play anywhere on that offensive line and more importantly you put that pressure on everybody everybody up front now you’ve now you’ve addressed the offensive line you’ve addressed your weapons you bring back darius sllayton you got wandel robinson you got jaylen hyatt maybe at least one point waiting to be unleashed right you got johnson you got bellinger you got fedome the tight end that you got in the seventh round kid does everything and then you got leak i i mean weapons whether you like it or not weapons all around for dart for wilson for winston whoever it’s going to be you got weapons all around you when you look around on the offensive side of the ball for the new york football giants obviously it all goes down to health if the offensive line can stay healthy if thomas can stay healthy the line was improved last year from where it was the year before nowhere near what we want it to be but let’s see what happens and the third and final point for me that makes the giants a lot better in the 2025 season it may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people it may not even be like one of these things that registers that’s a a big deal for fans and teams going forward but you look at the type of character leaders that the giants now have on this roster it’s it’s unbelievable in this draft class alone you get abdul carter jackson dart and cam scataboo who were all three guys known on their teams as being leaders right leaders of men but when you watch the response of the way that their college teammates would play with them and respond to them these guys are are like way ahead of their age and way ahead of their level of maturity when it comes to leadership roles and players like they respond to that type of leadership they respond to leading by example you take that and you couple that with the guys like malik neighbors and and dexter lawrence who’s over there of course and brian burns you look at the one thing that they say about jackson dart especially and cam scataboo is they are culture changers and what i bitched about for the last few years about the giants is you can take in and bring in new players and you can swap new players in through free agency in the draft but if you don’t change the culture you you’re just going back to square one and for the longest time the giants have had a loser culture that has just spread throughout the locker room through the field and through the fan base that all changes in the 2025 season from the rookies that are here and the vets that are here now with guys like secondyear veterans like malik neighbors we have dogs we have dogs that are ready to hunt so to me when you when you break it down offensively defensively and just the culture in the building all three levels there this is a team that has significantly upgraded that looks ready for prime time that looks ready for these challenges so when i see people freaking out about this schedule i’m like give me it i want more of it i i’m not scared of i don’t want these teams to be oh wow look we got the giants on our on our schedule week that’s an instant win that you haven’t earned a right or a win against the new york giants just because they appear on your schedule 2024 means nothing and it means absolutely nothing everybody’s coming in here brand new so while this division may you know belong to philly right now we got to give them their props got to give them the respect returning champs uh you know philly to me is is the bar when it comes to the national football league right now i’ll consider them the best team in the league not just in our division but in the league but around that outside of that you know i refuse to be one of these fans going in this season that thinks the giants can’t compete they’re going to compete they’re going to surprise people and the other surprise is how fast the maturation of jackson dart is going to accelerate we’re going to see it throughout this camp you’re going to read stories you’re going to be surprised you like “wow i can’t believe he’s moving that fast.” do i think he’s going to start week one no i don’t i wouldn’t start him week one and i’m not saying and we’re not gonna sit here and say that just because joe shane and and brian dable got a rookie quarterback they have to play him to save their jobs what i’m saying is they’re not going to need to i don’t think the giants are going to sit there and need to press the panic button because i think they’re going to be a lot more competitive than people think so i’m not putting a win total i’m not telling you that we’re going to win 14 15 games i’m not i don’t know how many games the giants are going to win but they’re going to be in these games and you can feel it and the culture the vibe in this team is entirely different liberation day is coming for the new york football giants
