the journey like obviously you end up playing at the end of the season with Bristol find yourself with a call up just like talk us through that a little bit it was a mad journey to be fair um I think start of the season I was sort of pushing to sort of get a place in the team at RS and it sort of didn’t work out so I said I need to go on loan he helped me to get a loan and went to wistone in the National League uh conference did it right there um November got recalled around Christmas time results weren’t going our way and the new manager coming and said I’m going to give you a go and and played 18 games ever since then done right I think it’s some like five clean sheets and sort of held my own and quality towards the end the England coolout came as well how does that how does that even happen like I imagine it’s a phone call like to us you know us PR what’s that like um I think the club sort of let me know that there was a chance I was going to get called up and then I remember it was just a random Wednesday and the England goalkeeper picture I knew already from sort of past goalkeeper camps and stuff rang me up and said we’re going to take you and then the a couple days later the actual manager found me and said that an official call up so yeah it was a surreal sort of feeling at the time and then but I didn’t know what to expect from it but it went away and it was unbelievable yeah how the camp even though I didn’t play like the sessions were unreal some the players in that in that dressing room top top that’s why they playing weekend we can’t unbelievable yeah and now you’re here with me doing these videos come down but yeah yes decision angle set a what a pickup set middle yeah great choice I love that oh what a pick up get up yeah nice mate yeah great Fe you’ve been called up to England You’ played regular football in the football league you’ve got a new contract other than me who’s the best keeper you’ve worked with uh probably trained and played against quite quite a lot of Toof goalkeepers but i’ probably say uh James fle is probably the best I’ve heard so much about him like what about him honestly I’ve heard the name so many times what about him is he’s different I don’t want to like hop him up too much you know he’s a m mine but he’s just everything he does is is’s very good like he gets into some amazing shapes makes him unreal saves and he’s very tidy of everything he does good with his feet yeah he’s good with his feet as well yeah he’s a mate yours yeah can we get him in for a session speak to drop him a message I drop him a message yeah and he’s just behind me yeah just behind you you’re one he’s probably close good back in there we are well done good T don’t mind it [Music] I don’t even me I apologize I apologize like yeah without fail without fail every time every time it’s like this I use it I you do it as well doesn’t it kill the gloves yeah but I’d only use it on like thear a warn down I wouldn’t use it on a fresh bear y nice yes oh love that great yeah well watch oh what a save yes de nice you what a touch did that touch there yeah I touched it what a touch oh what a save that is unbelievable I’m outrageous fell you’re not going to score in sa come on stop pretending whenever I ever said you’re not light out said it the whole set lad in that’s a thumbnail is it fast mate ledge today unreal and you big man unreal thanks for coming down session done class Jed one bit of advice that you’d give to a younger keeper watching I wouldn’t even just say it’s for a younger keeper I say it’s to any keeper um I even use it to my like myself to the days I never get too high with the highs never get too low with the lows as a goalkeeper you’re always going to go through mistakes but also having great games where you’re keeping clean sheets but never get too high with some things obviously celebrate and look back at your achievements but never get too too low of mistakes that you make and find that middle ground and sort of keep working towards uh little goals to reach one big goal how good is it Franco best piece of advice that you’ve been given yeah goalkeeping is a tough position but it’s more about what do you actually want to go out on the pitch and do today everyone gets nervous but what do you actually want to go out there you want to enjoy the game test yourself compete and try and win and I feel like when you switch the perspective it’s actually something where you want to go out onto the pitch maybe in a game where there’s a lot of pressure on you to do well it’s not actually a scary situation it’s a situation where you want to go onto the pitch you want to make S and I think that switch has helped me a lot playing in my career that’s class as well oh you get
