12 Holes with my MOM // West Virginia Golf

Hi everyone! Super exciting video for you all because it’s my first solo round of golf recorded on my DJI camera 🙂 We are taking baby steps here and I am so happy to have you all on my journey of YouTube golf! You guys are the OGs! This video is special because my mom joins me on a trip to West Virginia to play some beautiful golf in the mountains and she will be featured throughout the video! all right guys welcome back to the channel i am out in Franklin West Virginia truly a hidden gym i’ve never played golf in West Virginia nor have I ever been here and this place is absolutely stunning i mean look at the views we’re playing Highlands Golf Course it’s just an 18hole golf course here i am just going to play 12 holes and just to see how low I can go but honestly to show you guys the scenery here because it’s absolutely beautiful thank you Fisher Mountain for having me out here i am so excited to play i think it’s going to be a good time and I almost forgot the best part I’m here with my mom i’m turning it around even though she doesn’t want to be in it
hi she is recording she’s going to be my videographer today it’s very windy out here so pray for me in that aspect but let’s get right on into it [Music] all right good shot there i just rolled right through the fairway a little bit we should be good all right here’s the barn that I was aiming at that’s like a signature hole I feel and 10
this course is beautiful guys we’re out here on hole seven mom wanted to get her steps in so we started recording on seven i also wanted to get like a few holes in you know to figure out what what’s going on with the golf course we’ve already noticed a few things the greens are very difficult and you have to hit in the fairway
yes which is great because I’m not in the fairway here thankfully they’re a decent speed if they were any faster I genuinely think they would be impossible mhm but uh but the wind
the wind is making it very tough too and the roof is super thick we got 136 to the pin it’s an okay lie i definitely have had worse so far out here i don’t know i’m just going to hit the hard nine iron because it’s downwind and I’m hoping it’s just going to tumble up there onto the green do what you’re supposed to go

nice i’ll take that we got like one two three four five 16 feet for birdie better than I expected i thought I was like all the way down there chipping but we’re putting i think this is my first birdie look oh dang all right I’ll take the four i think it’s the second one of the day 171 in between clubs cuz it’s cold but it’s also downwind well I guess it’s not downwind anymore i don’t really know what the wind’s doing we’re just going to hit and hope my hands I feel like are a lot colder than when we started so I have no idea

yes we’re doing a top tracer night so we’re like I said we’re out at Fiser Mountain um and they have a top tracer range and so they’re going to have a little happy hour there some live music that’ll be great i’m excited and also there’s heaters by the way

yeah all right so we probably have like 50 ft for birdie here not ideal so we’re really just trying to get out of here with a three i mean I like shanked it like if you could shank a putt I feel like that’s what I did ah whatever i’ve seen better i’ve seen worse this is for my three this would be good for the momentum i I really would like to make this yes

i know i don’t know how far this hole is all I know is it’s a par4 it’s 255 through the fairway going to hit the driver though because there’s a lot of wind into and it’s chilly should be good i think Dang it i was thinking there was a chance that could happen but I was not going to hit the 3-wood it was 255 through the fairway and I like literally it’s barely in the fairway like you guys will see it was still a really good shot i hit it right where I was looking i just
I wasn’t going to hit the 3-wood cuz the problem is is the 3-wood spins more and with it being into the wind I’m just not going to get it as far up the hill as I would like and I would rather be through the fairway on the up like on the upper part of the hill than all the way down here where you can’t see the hole i thought you’d try and go over half of the trees no no i mean if I played here before I would see if I could do that but I I had no idea if I could or not so I really didn’t know
oh look it’s right there there’s a pin fine apologies if there’s any tractor noise they’re doing some work out here but uh we got 96 yards downhill front pin this is kind of an inbetweener i’m going to hit the 50 because it is cold and I just feel like I’m not swinging oh wait i don’t even have a 50 in my hand i feel like I’m not swinging it as you know fast as I I would if I didn’t have 20 layers on so I’m going to hit the 50 here and just try to put it in the center of the green down oh yeah oh yeah

yep good job sun’s out she came to play thank you thanks so I had a playing lesson yesterday and I was with Kevin my swing coach Kevin Jones back in Ohio and when we talked about front pins and how front pins are the hardest pins on tour because everyone tries to kind of hit it at the pin when in reality you should always be aiming like your number 5 yards behind it
so like there it was 96 y but the smart play because it was a front pin is to think in your head okay I’m going to hit it 101 yards so that’s why I hit the 50° so I was clubbing up right and now it’s pin high we have 18 ft for birdie here just roll it in nothing special ah you left it short pars are good just taking pars this is the signature hole out here number 10 there’s an island green very important to hit the or hit the fairway here i’m kind of questioning if I have too much club i think I’m going to hit the five we don’t know if this is the play but uh we’re hitting fivewood now instead of the 3-wood i’m going to aim at the tiny homes i’m aiming at mom’s car

okay I really did not like that if you guys want to know I hit like a 210 club i mean a moment for the beauty this is unreal right here i’m actually really excited for this back nine
and the sun’s out and the hills the mountains

yeah well I hit it too good cuz it went into the water that is so annoying all right we’re just going to take a drop ski that is so unfortunate i hit it too good you know i can’t I can’t be mad i hit a great shot i just had poor course management there so I guess I should have hit like a five iron all right we got 109 i’m hitting a 50° just kind of want to put it close i don’t have enough club there’s a lot of wind all right I’m hitting the fishing wedge okay all right we’ll take it in between with a wedge fighting for my life over here kind of mad cuz that was a really good Yeah like that was a really good shot like I actually think that was my most well struck shot of the day and honestly I think it I think it actually like went straight into the water which was a two
that was a 260 carry with a fivewood granted you know it was downhill downwind but like

Yeah I’m on it’s a good shot we’ll take it little scenic walk that’s where we’re staying those little tiny homes they’re actually called tiny homes they’re really cute i have about 18 feet for par here kind of a similar putt that I had on the ninth hole go in do it we’ll take the bogey I suppose there’s our tiny homes peace out i think it’s like 250 up the hill i mean I I I would assume it’s reachable but there’s a tree in the way i mean I guess just try to hoist it over the tree we’ll see no get through honestly I’m fine with that okay I will take that every day it didn’t like hit a limb and ricochet ob 74 yards here kind of a back pin into the wind uphill i’m playing it like I think there’s more room behind it than what it looks so I’m gonna play it like 80 it’s what I would do you agree Mom

oh be good uh it could be long but it was really well struck so I don’t know that was actually a very nice wedge shot
it sounded really good beautifully flighted and everything okay so this green actually used to have a horseshoe bunker wrapped around the whole entire thing i would have ended up in a part of the bunker as you can see but yeah it’s no longer anymore so they have some ropes up right now cuz I think it’s pretty newly rough i flew the green i wasn’t expecting that but we kind of just need to softly land it on the fringe go in

ryan and we didn’t care what anybody thought although we were a little more discreet with it it was always funny cuz I remember like you you I would look at you and I’d be waiting for it and she would just walk away and you would just see her behind just going like this like a little tweet tweet birdie but yeah it was so funny and then honestly remember like if it was an eagle
eagle that was my favorite
mom and dad were not discreet at all they would literally do that it was always so funny i loved it it made me happy didn’t matter how I was playing

okay we’re just going to be smart we’re going to play it like 180 out to the right here i’m okay if it draws a little bit but it’ll probably just stay straight or fade okay all right thank you we have 86 yards here i think that there’s another kind of two-tiered green so I think you need to be kind of more in the back yeah the pin is in the back so I got to get this out up there i’m playing at like 90 yards full 54 here or 3/4 I should say be good yep
yeah that should be really good you know that picture in like the eye tests where there’s that red building remember in the eye test where they puff um water in your eye or a puff of air
that’s what you look that’s what you stare at i don’t think I’ve ever had that
it’s just like very it’s very uh

country road I mean are we in American Idol or what yes 15 ft here for birdie kind of breaking probably 15 feet and uh good speed come on I can make this my gosh okay I will take it good par 330 yard par4 here pretty downwind so I feel like I can get it decently close if I hit it solid all right
okay perfect 61 i think it’s kind of a back pin we’re on the back nine here and I’ve learned that there’s not a lot of spin if you’re not hitting a full wedge in so 61 up the hill i mean I’m going to try to land this 55 55 is my number right now i hit that really bad but it might be good
yeah like pretty bad 15 ft for birdie i feel like I’ve had 15 feet on like every single birdie putt all right end of the fairway i’m aiming at a chimney out in the distance that works that’ll do all right we got 90 oh this breeze though is making me question this club nah it’s still got to be this i’m going to be low with it so I’m hitting the 54 here 95 yd shot nice and compressed ooh looks good go go go

okay i’m not saying it looks good anymore my camera woman wanted to take a little walk she is trekking up the hill you better be ready for my chip in [Music] just a nice chip in would do wonders right now oh I just want to call a chip in one time and actually make it nice okay 295 yards here um it’s not really reachable it’s into the wind and up the hill going to the right so I’m just going to aim straight let the wind kind of hold off the fade oh oh wow cutting it close but we’re fine my goal for the finishing holes is to finish at least one under

okay so this is where you just want to be able to manage your expectations i’m trying to finish one under so I don’t have my best birdie opportunity here still possible but my goal is to get out of here with a two putt and get it close no oh dang thought I had it nice thank you all right thank you 196 here downhill probably playing 186 back pin want to land at 180 downwind going to the right probably playing 170 I think so we’re going to get a sixiron here just get it on the green be the number wow okay thank you okay I played at 170 all right got about 12 feet for birdie come on [Music] why did I hit it so hard my lord that was really bad oh wow that was bad that was a bad bogey i’m feeling pretty defeated after that one one more to go that was so bad now I literally have to eagle to hit my goal all right it’s fine if we finish with a birdie all is well yeah I think I like pull hooked my putt and then it was downhill that’s like one of those like brain farts where like on the hole before I was so focused on just you know getting two putt par and I almost made it and then there I’m like “Okay I got to birdie this hole go go go one under going into the last hole and then I absolutely pound my putt and then I bogeied.” Like but that’s just the way it is like that’s just golf like
I was going to say it’s golf i was going to say honestly you can’t win them all but we’re gonna finish strong on this hole make a birdie come on get out of here 18 here beautiful view of the clubhouse um I think it’s like 350 or something to the hole maybe shorter than that just going to go left center of the fairway perfect that’ll play 91 yards uphill downwind probably will cancel out 3/4 54 here knock it close come on oh whoa all right a little shorter than expected but good shot all right we actually ended up not too bad i thought it was a middle pin but it was more front so we have like I don’t know 18 20 feet for birdie should break right gosh darn it all right okay all good that is all for the video i hope you guys enjoyed the golf and the scenery i’m sorry I couldn’t make more putts out there sometimes it just doesn’t work that way i hope you guys enjoyed my mom being on the channel give her some love in the comments make sure you guys go like and subscribe please it helps me so much and thank you guys for always supporting me no matter what it really means a lot see you guys in the next video bye
