this is the tea time golf pass tip of the week brought to you by quickfix golf here at QuickFix Golf and at QuickFix Golf we want you to play better golf now and are you struggling to figure out how far away from the golf ball you’re supposed to stand i see you all the time and I see so many different reference points well I’ve got the solution for you today take a look at this drill it’s going to help you find your own individual spacing from where your body needs to be and where the golf ball needs to be placed how far should we stand from a golf ball well if you take a look at Keegan Bradley here to me it looks like he’s too close to the golf ball he’s got his hand set really low and lots of knee flex vice versa if you look at Mike Weir here looks to me like he’s reaching for a golf ball both play at a competitively high level however the ideal position would be Kevin Kisner i think he’s the correct distance from the golf ball where your arms are just hanging from the sockets and that’s what Jack Nicholas always spoke about you want your arms hanging from the sockets so here’s a simple drill that Butch Harmon and Tiger Woods used to do all the time to make sure that their spacing was correct what you’re going to do is set up to a golf ball and your normal setup and then from there what you’re going to do is you’re just going to drop your trail hand and let it hang and you can see in my situation here I was reaching too much and then from there I put my hands on the club and I just incrementally move into the golf ball so my arms are hanging that’s how you find out the correct spacing for a golf swing so there you have it take some advice from Butch Harmon in Tiger Woods and you’ll be finding the correct spacing and how far you need to be standing from the golf ball make sure you got your tea time golf pass to get the great deals at your local courses and if you found this tip helpful hit the like button and subscribe for more every week see you next time
