that oak like last time oh little messy oh that’s very very good real crisp skin strong in the chili much much bolder flavor we’re downtown detroit and this week with some of the most elite golfers on hand we’re going to settle the biggest debate happening right here in the state of michigan of course i’m talking about american versus lafayette max when you’re in detroit there’s a giant debate here between coney dogs american coney island and lafayette families don’t like each other it it’s it’s beyond political you cannot be in the middle you have to like one or the other so we brought cony’s from both establishments we’re going to have you try them and you’re going to you’re going to be the the debate settler here okay so have you had chili dogs before we call them con dogs yeah yeah i mean it’s been a minute okay all right so we got the whole the whole shmear here we got chili mustard onions on them i’m going to have you taste test them and then you tell us which one you think is better we were just there this morning so these are fresh conies i’m going to give them a minute to digest and and take it in that’s very good that’s pretty good oh it’s the chili the chili is good that chili is very good it’s like um it’s not overwhelming okay i feel like a lot of chili dogs are like the chili is heavy yeah this is a as i said a long long-standing debate here so this is important the dog was better in this one the chili is somewhat similar i’m going to take a second bite sorry okay no i think enough chili yep that one that one’s pretty good i don’t want to be too down the middle but i like that chili better okay so you’re picking this one i am you are on team american coney island oh america strong first bite i’m a pretty tough grader usually okay so i give this uh 7.6 okay which is pretty strong very good outer crunch on the hot dog and a soft bite on the inside so i i really like that similar taste on the dog a little bit okay crunch on the outside light on the inside heavier on the chili a little more dense flavor of the chili here i’m going to go cuz i know it’s a big part of the dog so i’m going to go 8.1 on this one wow strong in the chili much much bolder flavor i’m going to say this one is the american and that one’s the lafayette nailed it big big coney fans here on the trailer we love chili love cheese dogs so you take one of that one and then one of that one oh oh you said oak like plastic oh little messy real crisp skin yeah i really feel the the cheese go right through the skin the dog is crisp very crisp yeah overall all right solid it’s good no complaints the hot dog is real solid like the or the cone i should say right had a little chili from mine leak onto that one so that’s okay sorry about that it’s actually supposed to be messy so we prefer that yeah i bet oh i can definitely taste the difference in the chili really kind of lean in the first one so far okay really good i don’t know okay maybe the chili just kind of kind of got me i don’t know i’m going to have to agree i wanted really hard to disagree on this but i think this one’s better we both like that one you both like that one slight edge to this one well i do want to inform you you guys have american coney island hats on you’re team american coney island american there we go team america that’s us the verdict is in these guys know too they know food american coney island is where it’s at right [Music]
