Grip Pressure In The Backswing

Free Samples:

In this tip I talk about the grip pressure in the backswing. It all starts at setup. If you are too tight there you are already locked up as you go back. So check if you are someone who has a tight grip when you start. If so, you need to loose up but be careful not to tight immediately as you start the club into the backswing.

Next is as you go back. This is when I am gradually tightening my grip. Did you hear that? I tighten my grip pressure, not my wrists. So it’s a secure grip with loose wrists. I did a tip about having a secure grip and loose wrists in the past. It will be at the end of this tip so I suggest watching it too so you have a full understanding of exactly what I am doing as I take the club into the backswing.

Keep in mind if your grip pressure is too tight throughout the golf swing you will tighten your wrists and lose power and consistency. So check to see if this is you. Once you stay loose but secure you will hit the ball so much longer and straighter.
