On the mound for the Yankees making his 16th start of the year guy who turned 26 years old earlier in the week and who has been very effective for the Yankees giving them much more than they could have expected. It’s, will Warren remains to be seen how both starters respond to conditions here today. And I’m speaking specifically of Warren with Jackson holiday getting ready to dig in the Yankee right hander has not had a lot of success in his brief two year career in afternoon starts, er, a more than double what it is at night and on the first pitch of the game, Jackson holiday has an opposite field base hit. I think one thing the Orioles are gonna know, going up against Warren, they’re gonna see a lot of fastballs and a first pitch heater comes in and gets, and two pitches into the afternoon and Warren is off to a unusual start. It’s kind of like they talk about in football. You can’t wait to get that first tackle out of play, that first contact. Everybody’s kind of even guys have been playing their whole lives, they’re kind of feeling their way that first inning throw to second base where holiday’s back on a closer play than what you may have thought. But now we’re going to have a little conference. We’re going to have an appeal. The Yankees want to take a look at that pick off play at second base. You get that phone call from the replay room in the first inning. You know that he’s got something. Did he come off? Yeah, he did. He came off right there. You bet. And I think the Yankees have chosen a pretty wise place to use the replay better first inning. If this doesn’t come through, they lose their challenge of the game until the, the umpires over runners out. But already we got a hit by pitch, which I think is an error. We got a base runner mistake. That’s an and you got a positive in the pick off play. So it’s 2 to 1. You really see where your team stands at the end of the game and there’s ball four to gunner Henderson. One is just being ready to play the energy you have to bring here to this game today and it’s part of being a professional. Not every game starts when you want it to. You don’t always play with great rest. Ro Hearn wasting no time, a light shot out to right field, they’re going to wave Urias around no play at the plate. And before there’s more than one out on the board. The Orioles are on the scoreboard. One Baltimore, I got a breaking ball just a hanger, a little cement mixer out over the middle of the plate. You can see the Orioles being very aggressive with pitches in the middle of the plate, especially early ball and no strikes to the Orioles DH popped him up. This will be fun. Judge on for it and Henderson stays put at 1st and 3rd run in with two away. Now for the left handed hitting left fielder Colton Ker. Well, the one thing he threw the first pitch curveballs because everybody’s been all over his fastball like that into the opposite field. Bellinger has to chase it down. Henderson scores easily. They’re going to hold o’er at third and RB I double for Kauer and it’s 20 Baltimore. Well, he had to mix it up and this is just a fastball. This is a good piece of hitting here, not trying to go and pull this ball a little fastball riding away the Yankee pitching coach Matt Blake out for an early visit and it’s clear why two runs on three hits a walk and a hit batsman in two outs to start the ball game. And the seventh pitch of the plate appearance to Mullins is a tapper out to Lema Baltimore on the board twice. So a lot for Dean Kremer to try to handle as you saw making his 15th starting appearance here. This Grisham has already out homered his entire 2024 season swing and a miss by Grisham one gone for Kramer. So here’s aaron Judge has bounced back a bit this weekend against Baltimore, a team that he has really tormented, not just this year but over the past number of seasons, that’s a bouncer for Urias and Judge is retired. They’re t gone. So tug gone base is empty now for Ben Rice who had a really nice afternoon on Saturday tripling and home in the nine nothing shutout. Yankee win. So important with the extra players at Dave’s game, you can’t have one dimensional DH s on the bench and very little, they’ve got to be able to play around. It’s going to be a real quick inning for Dean Kramer gets through the top of the Yankees order in order Orioles on top two, nothing. And we have an opportunity to visit with Gunner Henderson here in the bottom half of the second. Gunner. Thanks for taking some time to chat with us to be here. We’re going to try to stay out of your way too. Here’s cody Bellinger leading things off and on the first pitch high drive out to left center field, plenty of room for Sedric Mullins. I’m not sure you could pay most people to stand on the left side of an infield with this dude in the batter’s box. Not as hard as he hits the ball. What do you think it over there at shortstop gunner with, with Stanton up at the back. Yeah, I tend to play at the back whenever he’s up. Yeah, I had my fair share of the song when I first came up and play in third base. He hit them very hard. Hi, baby. And Stanton strikes out Jazz Chisholm. Now, jazz sit safely in four straight and he’s been great since coming off the injured list himself and on the first pitch, he shot out to right field short porch. That one’s got a chance but it dies at the track up against the wall Chisholm into second with a two out double. You know, that’s one of those where some people might not be going hard enough to get a double, but right about here, he’s going, I’ve got a chance. I don’t think so. Let me get going here. So now DJ LeMahieu with a runner in scoring position. LeMahieu has a total of two base hits to the left side of the field, the lowest full percentage in the sport. But gunner, you probably don’t want to listen to any of that because you’ve always got to be ready out there. Ball and a strike to LeMahieu. Of course, he pulls the base hit Cowser up with it. They’re going to try it with Jazz throw. Oh, collision at the plate. Hendley got knocked out. He had to come up the line to field the throw which was not quite on line and Chisholm scores safely from second. Wow. And now the training staff is going to come out and attend to the Baltimore catcher. You’re going to watch his throw. The throw goes up the third base line. He had to come, get it. If he catches the ball. Jazz is out. I don’t think there’s anything jazz could do there but to run into Hamley, the catcher could have made a better, it looked like Jazz maybe got caught in between. Maybe he was thinking about going over him. Chris Coghlan style. That’s right here. He’s trying to make a decision right about here. Which way am I going? He lost his shoe, his left came off. What in the world Baltimore again thin at the catching department with Adley R on the il for the first time in his career and they’re going to make sure Hanley’s ok here. It looks like Hanley is coming out of the game. Wow. Oh boy. I think he’s got, I don’t think they like what they’re seeing in his eyes a little bit. I think he got a little, uh, he got his bell rung. So the Yankees are on the scoreboard. Jazz gonna put a new pair of socks and a new kick on. So Gary Sanchez, the only other catcher on the roster is going to suit up and finish out the game today. We’re only in the second inning. Well, hopefully nothing happens to him. Who’s gonna be the third catcher Kramer’s 12 homes strikes out Wells, the Yankees getting on the board in the bottom half of the second to the third. It will be Urias Henderson and Ahern against Will Warren. A lot of aggressive first pitch swinging by the Orioles in this game. And after locating the comebacker, Warren gets his man , you see a lot of pitches, they don’t square up anymore. The first base side of the third base side, you see Warren here he falls off to the first base side, doesn’t really square up to become a fielder. So that’s why you see a lot of these baseballs come off the body and they don’t know where it is, what else is going to happen today, Henderson’s bat goes flying into the stands on a strikeout and there were two away. Fortunately nobody was in harm’s way of that boomerang weird stuff. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s the start time. Jeff, it’s not Friday the 13th, it’s Sunday, right. The Yankees have one of the lower nets above their dugout. So sometimes you’ll see the bat hit off those nets and other clubs, they don’t need the swing. That was a good one. A well navigated inning, full count pitch to judge and he fights off a base hit into the opposite field. See, human beings are not supposed to be able to hit that ball to right field for a base hit. Now watch this, this is impressive as a home run up and in you kidding me, Ben Rice who grounded out to first base to end the first inning, excuse me , swing, that’s going to yield a pretty good result for the Yankees. Jeff. You’re the pitcher. How about the last two base hits? You gave up? You think the game is fair? Not at all you’re throwing in the white flag. There’s Cody Bellinger fly to center on the first pitch leading off the 2nd, 1st and 2nd with two guns. The pitch swung on a miss by Bellinger that gets Kremer out of a jam. But both of these right handers have great this afternoon and both nelly as you were observing during the break have really relied primarily on their heaters. The challenges they have to deal with 12365 strikeouts for Will Warren and so far so good as far as things are concerned for the Orioles right hander, Dean Kremer, who has really been good that’s lined into the corner in right field and it will rattle around trouble for Baltimore judges being held at third Rice into second and the Yankees are in business in the sixth. Kramer’s made a couple mistakes on that split. There’s that split finger up, little hesitation in right field here. They had to play at second base and they did and even Rice hung up about halfway first time. The Yankees put their leadoff hitter aboard and now it’s a greater threat as Bellinger is jammed, dumps the ball into right great catch by Dylan Carlson and nobody can advance that saved at least one run. He is going to drop. He’s got to get back to the bag. And even so I don’t think they send them the people with one out. He might have been tagging from the get go if you know the guy’s gonna have to dive to make the catch. He kind of got no man’s land there because of the ball, but you don’t want to be standing on third and he catches a clean short hop and you’re out of the plate. That’s a tough baserunning call. So now conference on the mound with Kramer who’s yielded five hits this afternoon, three of them have come on splitters and maybe that’s among the things being discussed as Keenan A gets ready in a hurry, 0 to 2 and a swing and a miss third strikeout of the afternoon that Stanton has suffered through. He had struck out only twice in 17 plate appearances since being activated off the IL three strikeouts on his line today, Tony Manlio coming out with a hook in his pocket. He wants the left hander Akin to face Jazz Chisholm 2nd and 3rd with two gone in a one run game. Jazz swings and sends the ball out to right, not far enough. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out and Baltimore pitching keeps the Yankees quiet, I imagine. Maybe Warren goes hitter to hitter here. If somebody gets on, that might be it. Or aaron Boone like to see him get through Sanchez. Carlson jerks that one into right field and that’s going to bound up against the wall, judge up with it, throwing to second base very strong throw. But in safely with the head, first slide is Carlson with a leadoff double. It’s got to be a frustrating thing for a starter trying to keep this a close one run game. You’ve got a two count and you give up a leadoff extra base hit two to sanchez and a swing and a miss at a wild sweeper that wasn’t even close as Tommy Lasorda used to say Garvey couldn’t hit that with an or 30 at a four pitch walk that will give judge a chance to bat with runners at 1st and 2nd. So you want to be a manager. Let’s make sure we walk to get to the once again, the anxiety you don’t think he knows who’s on deck. Well, I can’t walk Grissom here. He’s got a little pop at the same time. You don’t want to judge to beat you more secondary stuff that one bounces play at third throw. There is not in time. Wells very alertly takes an extra base on that ball in the dirt and you better make sure you’re going to get to third with aaron Judge at the plate, got him swinging. Well, we just watched the reliever, sir, Anthony dominguez , a guy who features a good split finger fastball. If you think you like that, you ain’t seen nothing. Fernando Cruz has one of the best in the business and it leads to a lot of punch outs. Got a swing and miss on that another great split. So now Colleton Cower Ker one for three, he doubled in the first run of the game back in the first. A third straight gets another strikeout. What a weapon that split is for Cruz and 1/6 straight means he strikes out all three. He’s called on to face the Yankees are just one for seven with runners in scoring position this afternoon. Another chance here for Stanton Stanton sends a rocket out to left. They will hold rice at third and wisely so lucky it’s only a base hit that could have been in the seats. I was wondering who they’re going to use to pitch run there. Now, they’re down to one guy on the bench and the backup catcher is, and the Orioles are discussing how to get a ground ball off. Jazz Chisholm’s bat. If you play double play depth, you’re probably given the run up with a ground ball in the middle of the in, let it right at the shortstop or pitcher Chisholm sends the ball out to right center. That one’s off the wall. We scores easily. They’re going to try it with goldsmid, the throw to the plate is not in time. You got to be able to trust the guy too. It’s a great sin, great sin throws just a little bit up the first base line, which is a difference. The pitch run for Stanton pays off dividends. Yankees are looking for what would be just their second win when trailing after seven chopper here comes Jazz play at the plate is dropped safe. He called him out, they call him out, he called him out. You’re right about that ball came out. I’m not sure if Jansen Bisconti saw that and now the safe ball is mentioned at the plate. 42 New York. I’ll tell you, Jazz has had quite a, a lot of traffic at home plate today. It’s been a lot better as opposed to the way it started for Devin in the Bronx. It’s back to the kind of stuff that Brewers fans watched the last five years bouncing ball to third. That should do it appropriately. It was one of the Yankees stars today and the Yanks take the series with a real ###### of back victory on this Sunday in June.

  1. Ohtania pitched an inning w 2 strike outs, hit a triple and a home run , a walk, 3 runs , 5 rbis.

Judge needs to just go pitch like Ohtani and Yankees will be better

  2. Didn't even realize the starting time for this streaming-only game til I woke up at 1PM!
Good thing I still pay my Amazon Prime membership. I can catch their Wednesday night games!😂😂😂

  3. Orioles pitchers…STOP walking people.
The only Yankees that ought to get walked are Stanton and Judge.

  4. The offense got going and actually hit wrisp gotta keep it going in Cincinnati have to beat up on bad teams even during the losing streak the pitching has been phenomenal and now Gil is coming back

  5. I really do not like the interviews with players mid inning. That has to be so distracting for the players. Just speak to them in between innings if you must during the game.

  6. I really hate when the commentators talk to the players while they are in the game. Pathetic, stupid and wrong, all day long.

  7. Hope we’re not getting HOMERUN HADER back! Well done to Dubon! Altuve again shows his low IQ base running.

  8. Jizzum made a very smart move by going back and touching the plate after he was called"out"'. He never touched the dish on his initial slide. The man can absolutely fly too. Mick "The Quick" Rivers 2.0

  9. Inexcusable base running from Judgey. He has to go back and tag immediately. He would've scored whether or not the outfielder made the catch. INEXCUSABLE.

  10. Really entertaining game and I’m excited to see if the orioles can continue to rebound they may have lost but they played very well in the first and last game of this series and compared to earlier in the year they look leagues better.

  11. Such a weird game, and the weirdest being Aaron Boone without his usual hoodie on. Glad we got the win.

  12. Idiot commentary. Jazzum is my favorite Yankee not named Judge. He is more clutch than Judge. He makes dynamic plays in the field and his speed adds a new dimension to the team. His swing almost seems effortless when that ball flys off the bat.

  13. Stanton at bat with one out, and runners on second and third in 7th inning, and he can't hit a sacrifice fly, he struck out, this is why I didn't want him back, and he did the VERY same thing last week.
