they don’t have a first they have a second rounder right no I know i was doing a joke i was like “All right the picks.” Yeah ready wait no no they have a second runner though right absolutely not vote thanks for bringing it up uh but nonetheless you never know what could happen on draft night and I will tell you right now I would be shocked if the Nuggets were to trade into the first round of the NBA draft tonight but you know what crazier things have happened does you saying that jinx it and raise the percentage of that happening by 1% at least it feels like that it feels exactly like that’s just what happened if they do it kill you have to make the YouTube thumbnail adam’s shocked face really big and blown up the Gen Z YouTube thumbnail be sick yeah Adam is shocked that the Nuggets traded in the first round adam’s head exploding that would be epic we do have a great show for you guys though tonight because Brennan Vat’s in the house what a treat to be here on a night where something really surprising could happen or we hang out for a couple of hours and nothing happens at all either way I’m genuinely happy to be here with uh with two of my bosses one of them kind of different this time yeah you know what though here’s the thing is I don’t know the Nuggets are going to do anything tonight we we will see but it whatever happens tonight is going to impact the Denver Nuggets and that’s why you watch you tune in to our show here because everything is going to be through the lens of the Denver Nuggets tonight and the West i do expect some trades we’ve already got some to talk about but I do expect some trades and so we’re going to be breaking it down and saying what does this mean for your beloved Denver Nuggets all night long and to help us along we brought in the draft expert here at DNVR Andre Simone much like my love for you guys my love for the draft is unconditional do not care if we have a pick or not i would be dialed in regardless and it’s a pleasure to be with you two gents here today you are a draft guy man we were throwing out some some names some wild stuff you were on top of it it’s how it’s how I process the season ending really I have to watch draft prospects i’m not ready to say goodbye to basketball but it also hurts me to watch the playoffs so I I resort to watching draft prospects nfl draft as well yeah NHL draft yeah NHL i I once did like a whole pre-draft podcast series with AJ so I was dialed on that one less so now mlb draft yeah MLB I’m in on are you really honestly It’s the best draft of all yes it’s amazing it’s incredible real draft heads love the MLB draft you You talked earlier about prospects that won’t be available for a long time yeah draft a guy in the top 10 and he maybe we’ll hear from him in four or five years uh I don’t want to spoil it but Cooper Flag is going to end up going number one as we have but we actually have a fourth member of our broadcast team tonight you guys all know him you all love him he is the best and I mean this sincerely the best in the biz here in Denver breaking down the draft and we invited him on it’s CT Fazio what’s up guys how you doing thanks for having CT how do you like what do you do you know my kids when it’s Christmas you know they have a whole routine they like they pajamas and everything they tuck themselves in do you have a routine the night of draft when you’re getting ready and tucking yourself into bed milk and cookies or anything it’s always uh that anticipation for the draft after especially you know a long cycle of of uh hard work um you know putting my board out today uh so you know a long cycle of you know evaluating and watching film um but it’s always always like Christmas morning when the draft is here you know unfortunately the August have a picked tonight but a fan of the draft in general nonetheless so it’s like it’s like Christmas morning at a relative’s house when all the your cousins got Oh you have to watch them open you don’t you have one and it’s probably socks yeah we’re going home later we’ll open your gifts um hey so real quick temperature of the Denver Nuggets right now very weird transition period how are you feeling about the team how are you feeling about the new management head coach and the state of the roster yeah I think it’s you know I think it’s great that they got a fresh start you know in the the front office and and coaching as well you know I think some of the uh you know issues over the past few years kind of had an effect in the locker room as we saw um so I think maybe getting some you know some fresh faces in the building uh some fresh perspectives as well I think is is something that’s a welcome sight for the team and I’m feeling good about the team overall still i I think they’re a contender still um I think their starting five is you know stacks up with being one of the best in the league still um but I do think the margins and the bench and uh that six through probably ninth spot uh off the bench needs some amendments um so we’ll see if maybe if the draft is is an avenue for that or for agency they have to to hit on the margin again so feeling good you know especially at the top but definitely needs some improvements throughout and real quick just to interrupt you the first pick is in or are they just on the clock did they announce it or they just said they’re on the clock they’re just the no need dallas Barracks are on the clock really no need to break but just didn’t want to miss the pick if it did come in so here’s my question for you somebody who follows the draft and the evolution yearbyear cuz I think there’s an evolution to the players that are coming in the Nuggets need the margins and the margins matter but I think their top to your point the topline talent’s good i feel like the margins there are guys that fit on the margins more than ever whether it’s through the draft free agency there are players that can just oh I need to be the seventh best guy i need to just not have weaknesses i think there are players like that whether it’s the draft or second draft do you agree with that or do you think it’s actually harder to find seventh eighth guys you know at the price points Denver is working at uh than I’m giving it credit for yeah I think you know especially in the last couple years the Nuggets have tried to target rotation pieces at the end of the first round um you know I think some of those pieces have hit and some I’d say has taken a bit longer to develop you know we’re seeing Christian Christian Brown of course has been you know thrusted into a starting role and you know I think he was more so of an outlier compared to the rest of the selections that were taken but I I definitely think throughout you know the draft there’s there are avenues for players to you know contribute immediately or contribute you know down the line but I think in this draft in particular definitely a way stronger draft than last year’s class uh throughout the board especially at the top with you know Cooper Flag you know being you know the best prospect in this class compared to last year um but I do think you know you can find you know some diamonds in the rough but especially when you’re looking for certain skill sets uh to help kind of facilitate and improve your team i think there are avenues to do that um at different parts of the draft what is your take right now on Payton Watson do you think the Nuggets should be invested in his growth between last year and next year based on he moves up a spot in the rotation now and is going to be really important to their development is that a risk that you think is worth taking i’m I’m on the fence about it um I I did float out a couple uh Watson trace on the timeline recently uh maybe getting involved in this class uh you know maybe Payton Dario Sarap at 19 for the Nets pick to maybe target Walter Clayton if he’s there i just think the Nuggets need some varying differences in their skill sets uh they’ve targeted a lot of play finishers to surround Joic and I think that especially now seeing you know how how much the you know defense has swarmed Joic um leaving basically anybody else open i think they need some shot creators in the back court uh whether they can get that through free agency or they can get that through the draft i think they do need to take the burden off of Murray and Joic’s shoulders and Gordon as well to a lesser extent as far as adding that perimeter creation you know to the mix i I just think that they’ve added a lot of players um you know listening to the front office in their press conference yesterday I think they are looking to kind of amend their philosophy moving forward do you think shot finishing at the rim because that’s where Payton is weak is that a skill that you think you see growth in players or is that you know cuz sometimes like ball handling guys can add ball handling to it other skills more difficult do you think finishing at the rim is one of those skills where it’s like yeah guys don’t usually make huge strides over the course of your career when they’re 22 years old yeah I think it’s dependent on on a variety of different factors especially context you know we’re seeing a couple guys in this in this class who have had pretty poor spacing you know in their in their teams you look at guys like Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey guys who played at Ruckers who didn’t really play with a big man um you know there’s there’s other guys throughout the board as well where the context wasn’t really that great you know a guy like Trey Johnson uh Texas um is another example where he had to really create a lot of offense and I think his numbers took a hit in that regard due to the fact of the context and and not as much spacing but I do think you can improve uh especially as you kind of you know it depends obviously on context as well but I do think that is a skill that um you can improve on moving forward and I think you know going back to Watson I’m I’m curious to see moving forward if the extension is something that’s you know agreed upon before the year starts um or if they look to maybe trade him because I think the nuggets kind of going into the direction of having more long-term money on the books is something that we saw have been you know a bit of a problem uh in the current moment um but going forward we’ll see if that maybe hampers things you know in the future but I’m a believer in Payton uh but I do think that I think the option of trading him is is maybe an enticing one if if you can get a better rotation player do you What do you think Dre do you think finishing is something a player like can he become a good finisher next year i don’t know man i don’t know i think that’s one of those things where like by this point you probably have it a little bit like you know that was the that was always the Moodier conundrum don’t bring up Moodier cuz you’re right just like I think but I was thinking about this on the drivein like it’s so right I do more NFL draft stuff and so much of that outside of quarterback it’s just like yeah we want bigger batter stronger guys the rest we can coach we can at least talk ourselves instead in the NBA you’re really balancing like what of which of these skills can be taught and which of these skills we kind of need on board to start with to then teach the other things around you know and I I wonder if finishing’s one of those that you you more need to come with it he missed so many though that I feel like we’re not not bad luck but I look at him and I’m like he’s not going to miss that many dunks next year will he vote i mean if you want to look at a guy that actually did show some drastic improvement driving and finishing at the rim Christian Brown is one of them you know Christian is a guy who I don’t think maybe ever looked as uh hope helpless at the rim as Payton does now but this was an evolution for him to turn turn into a monster at the rim the way he has so I don’t expect that from Payton but maybe some sort of a leap is feasible all the same we’re going to get to CT’s uh top five late first rounders here in a second because if the Nuggets do make a trade I expect it to be a late first rounder can I jump in because CT threw out that nugget of like he wonders if maybe PWA could be flipped today in a PW plus deal for Brooklyn who has four picks right so Brooklyn’s going to be one of those teams when they’re starting to creep up on the board well at least think about it at 19 who would you if the Nuggets made that move want them to target there at the end of the top 20 CT yeah do we Yeah it’s Walter Clayton no doubt um guy who’s he was number 12 on my board today um just finishing it up uh you know in preparation for the draft today um guy’s a national championship won a national championship of Florida just like Christian Brown you know at Kansas um guy who’s a nuclear pull-up shooter um and I think the Nuggets just need more dynamism in the back court you know aside from Murray’s like their only shot creator and we saw that in the playoffs he took Murray off the floor the Nuggets the Nuggets completely tanked and that’s just due to the fact that they don’t have enough shot creation at the moment um but going back to Clayton I just think he’ll be someone who could really lift the bench unit which they need um they need a guy in Murray’s place who can kind of do a little bit more with the the ball in his hands and create a bit for himself and others and I think Lane would be a fantastic pick off the bench as a nuclear pull-up shooter guy who really could uh split you know pick and rolls and really good transition passer as well he’s got a Jamal Murray game to him wouldn’t you say a little Jamal Murray to his game funny enough that he mentioned that he actually mentioned that uh Murray’s a guy that he really studies you know him Dame Lillard as far as guys who are pullup shooters and um can get to their shot but can really you know make some some difference in the mid-range as well but yeah I think he would be a fantastic pick if he were you know if the Nuggets were entertained trading into the draft that would be the guy I’d look at and target at yeah I love that one too his movements are so smooth he’s just a smooth player you know what I mean like he’s just everything he does looks like it’s was done in a lab and I love that part of his game uh real quick Cooper Flag was the number one pick no surprise we knew it real Just give me a quick take on Cooper Flag i’m super high on him i know some people are mixed i love Cooper Flag we’re going to talk about him a little bit later in the show i think this guy’s a stud what is your take yeah I mean Cooper I think Flag is um going to be a dynamic prospect for the Mavericks uh immediately changes their franchise uh I think you know with Kyrie out for a large portion of the year I think that’s going to benefit him getting more on ball reps um instead of playing a little bit more off the ball we saw this year at at Duke um I think coming into the year a lot of questions were about his self-creation ability and he had a around a 31% usage this year so his usage was pretty high um he was playing with a lot of guys who you know could dribble the ball but he was the main you know um creator for them but he had the third best freshman box plus minus since 2008 only behind Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson it’s crazy which is pretty incredible he averaged 198 and four on 48 39 84 splits i just think he he has way too many avenues um to success you know when you look at the defense as well a guy who’s great shot blocker you know averaged about three stocks a game and his defense is going to be something where if the offense doesn’t really fully materialize I think the defense is something you can fall back on which makes him you know that clear-cut number one guy in this class for me is it possible we’re sleeping on the Mavs i mean obviously we think they’re going to be good but is it possible that it’s like no they just added Cooper Flag this is an incredible player now they’re a legitimate threat to come out of the West i think when Kyrie gets back for sure i think they’re missing a lot of you know perimeter creation at the moment um but they do have you know their front court is is so many tall players you know look at Derek Lively Anthony Davis they just resigned Gaffford to an extension naji Marshall had a good year in Kyrie’s absence as well and I just think they have a lot of versatile athletes um probably lacking a bit too much in the back court but I do think that they could probably you know be a differencemaker when Kyrie gets back for sure i think they’re definitely going to be a dangerous team yeah uh real quick then and we’re going to let you out of here we’re going to have CT popping on about every five picks but you do have your entire list of your guys from the back half so Clayton’s on there i like that pick very much who else made it and Kale do you have the board you can pull up here for CT who else is on this list yeah so I had uh Ryan Caulk Brener uh Cam Jones Scion James Adro and and Javon Small um a lot of older prospects in that mix you look at Caulk Brener Camp Jones uh Scion James and Smaller both upper classmen uh guys who played multiple years in college so I think they’re going to be uh guys who could be immediate contributors wherever they go um I saw K Brener play a lot over the past couple years in person um being in the Big East guy who’s like 73 ridiculous shot blocker um a guy who’s just going to be a presence at the rim cam Jones as well i saw a good amount you know playing in the Big East too uh really good guard um good shooter and Dutiero is a guy who I think go pretty high up in the class probably around like the top 20ish I would say potential to fall I do think but um because he did have an injury this year but freaky freaky athlete as far as guy who’s 66 uh probably the best athlete in the class and and one of the better uh perimeter defenders as well um I I actually comped him to a Payton Watson with uh with ball skills with ball skills okay skills guy who could who could uh you know create off the dribble a and he really is physical uh that’s the difference as well he’s he’s really a physical and dynamic athlete um you know when getting to the rim so those are some guys who I think will uh be difference makers in the first round for a team you know whether that’s drafting in like the mid first round or the end of the first well all right well you’ve you’ve convinced me these guys I have my eye on we’ll see if the Nuggets do anything again I don’t expect it but those are famous last words ct we’re gonna let you go here but we’ll circle back around the six pick or so sounds good guys all right great stuff thanks so much ct is the man there um all right so uh you know some interesting names not on my board but I kind of like it i will say this when he says that Pton Watson with handles I think that was Cal’s vision for Payton Watson yeah I think he was like “Oh he just needs handles we’ll get him running the pick and roll and maybe he’ll develop him.” It’s funny to think that a potential path for Peyton Watson is a playmaking kind of guy a guy who has the ball in his hands and is on the move because thus far he is a guy that isn’t entrusted with the ball in his hands in the half court setting to make choices and then when he has the ball in his hands in transition you’re almost thinking please get rid of the ball so I still see that pathway in terms of his potential for sure but it’s just not the player he’s been for Denver so far real quick dylan Harper has been taken now with by the San Antonio Spurs with the second pick we thought that pick might get traded that was the only mystery there if it wasn’t it was going to be him that’s three lead guards now right with Fox and Steven Castle and Harper and all those guys need the ball yeah that was the big concern about the Spurs you know holding on to that pick but he is like a pretty a pretty good player the question we were asking is him ace Bailey on Ruters two really good players lottery picks top five picks most likely and yet they sucked and we kind of were talking before the show that it reminds you a little bit of Ben Simmons at LSU where it’s like oh throw that away it wasn’t a good team and all this or that but sometimes that stuff matters yeah Markeel Folds came to mind for me yeah Markeel Folds i feel like there’s a lot of those guys and they often don’t really work out there are guys though that probably break this this mold as well we’re struggling to think of i’m trying to think here but um it is some I don’t know it is it a little something what can you tell me about his game though Dylan Harper’s he’s one of uh one of B votes guys oh that’s true actually I should ask you yeah the first thing you know you need to know about Dylan Harper is that he was born in New Jersey oh God he played his he played his high school basketball in New Jersey and as you guys were just saying for college didn’t go too far rucker zone jersey zone dylan Harper so is Ruckers the Jersey is that the college of Jersey yeah yeah for sure man that’s that’s our school and shout and so shout out Dylan Harper shout out a a Jersey Northeast guard product it’s fun he’s a bigger guy it’s about the size at his position he can get downhill his handle’s really good you know we’ve seen some of these bigger crafty guards kind of trying to work their way into the league and he’s one of them i I think being dominant on ball at the NBA level some shooting questions consistency questions you know not like a pull-up jumper guy but he’s great in a pick and roll in terms of the reads he can make and how crafty he is in getting downhill getting himself to the rim just a big smart player size craft handle I think are the key words for Dylan Hart all right um with San Antonio though it is kind of interesting to see what they do this entire summer cuz there was a lot of talk about them speeding up their timeline this is the one that would have sped it up the most and you know sticking Pat at least for now stay in Pat we’ll see what other moves they make but you’re not in love with the uh the three guard three point guards three ball handlers I should say makes me wonder a little i think I mean Vote has a nice assessment i think he’s correct yeah he is very New Jersey fits that he fits that mold right the fact the big handler creator and I mean when those guys pan out they really pan out right uh you know the Lucas the Cades of the world the Hardens so on and so forth i It must be the hair i see a little too much Markeel Folultz i’ve been scarred by Markeel Folultz and that you and Eric man are hair comp guys yeah it’s the way to go um and I don’t know i mean Castle had such a nice rookie season they already made that trade for Fox this kid as Vote pointed out his entire value is him having the ball in his hands shooting is the question so he’s not an off guy he’s you know for a freshman he’s got the kind of dark arts pick and roll stuff down which is like we were talking with CT like what can be taught and what maybe should be like having that at that age is a really valuable skill but yeah I don’t know i don’t know what the plan is and I mean are all those guys really the best way to build around WBY i’m not sure also here’s the other thing I think about the Spurs man we’re just seeing with Oklahoma City and Orlando to a lesser extent these young teams that you can’t plan five six years they used to draft a guy we’ll play it slow i wonder if the Spurs are looking at this like we have WBY for all this time the NBA turns over now every two years or it’s he’s clearly the second best player in the draft after flag we did not like the trade offers for the pick but now it’s it’s more than that it’s you get him in your in in camp you you get a look and you go between these three guys what type of configuration do we like and are one or two of them a part of a future trade package so it’s I do think almost everyone agreed after flag Harper goes so maybe it was just the trades weren’t enticing yeah the consensus was there but yeah I mean it’s is this the way to go three guards that deep shooting is kind of the question for all three probably not long term I wouldn’t say probably not long term so we’ll have to wait and see what they do the 76ers are on the clock right now we might have This is where it gets interesting everybody knew Flag Harper uhhuh it was like that was we knew this three months ago now the draft begins and now you know I expect there to be some motion some movement some trades but before we get to that Dre you have some prop bets oh yeah I want to get to some prop bets i love betting on the to get these out it is fun to do so the consensus mocks had a lot of Trey Johnson going to number seven to the Pellies um so I got that at plus 600 this morning it moved to plus 100 what the bets one oh I’m in that’s my um Oh there you go yeah okay so this was kind of the consensus mock pick we really need uh Jeremiah Fears to go fifth overall and then Trey Johnson at seven feels like a really healthy bet i don’t I don’t want to brag here but I did talk to his agent earlier this week mike Miller told me uh he’s not going past five now that’s agent speak you know that’s agent speak for like they all say that my guy are you kidding me he’s not going past this but the confidence very strong so I like your I like your bet i believe it um Cayman Maloc number eight uh to the Brooklyn Nets at plus 500 it seems like that’s kind of uh where his his draft range starts in that 78 range and seven I’ve got Trey Johnson so give me that value at plus 500 for Milwaukee cedric Coward I want it 10th overall plus 900 who knows what the Suns do with this pick but again the value felt really nice yeah uh Liam McNeely is an absolute favorite of mine we’ll get into him later top 20 for him to go minus 100 so even money basically uh Hansen Yang is just a favorite of the chat and Twitter so why not bet on him plus 120 to go in round one and have some fun uh Cam Jones one of CT’s favorite players there he’s also my guy and uh him to go in the first round plus 120 i like that value and I’m closing it out with Noah Sang the French you know forward who I think could be another riser like we saw last year uh with a couple French guys cracking the top 10 under 9 and a half at plus 165 we’ve got the pick at three so that’s chalk that was minus 300 this morning were the Sixers hopeful to trade this pick i There was buzz of that being the case but I think I saw a stat said Daryl Mory hasn’t picked in the lottery for like over 10 years or something like that yeah I know as much as But wait is that right because he it’s always tra I mean he’s a mover and shaker you know he’s not not going to draft guys but here we are are they Are they a team that maybe has to start thinking about whatever the next wave looks like too cuz this one’s probably not going to win no matter what they want to lie to themselves about yeah but here’s the thing man is Daryl my given the green light to do those you know what I It’s easy for a guy a front office guy but whenever there’s turnover it’s like okay well new regime mhm oh I don’t know if you’re a a rebuild consiglier you know you might be it might be something else so that’s right so we’ll see i have no idea what the 76ers are going to do though man sit and pray that they have just a tiny bit of health cuz the East is so freaking wide open i mean they kind of got a lifeline with Maxi and McCain being any good and this third overall pick yeah I don’t know if that’s a lifeline there was ever a time to like just click the restart button that was it yeah they might want to if they get off to a slow start i know both of those guys the top two guys are are are for sale well what can you guys tell me about Edgecomb nice athlete uh like super duper star athlete and kind of checks off all the boxes you know like he’s got good size he’s a willing defender seems like a good teammate there’s there’s like intriguing upside for him on the offensive side now the question is how far can we get into that upside right so for before the lottery happened he was the pick that everyone was penciling in for Charlotte cuz he just felt like the perfect compliment to Ball and Brandon Miller and uh then the lottery fell out like this i don’t know about the fit with Philly which is why the thought was this might be a trade which again could happen in the next five minutes that we find out it’s actually Philly drafting at fourth pick and Charlotte moved up or whatever um you know it’s these high upside guys sometimes they’re the Thompson twins and you’re like “Oh my god these guys have just become phenoms.” Sometimes they just don’t add up to the sum of their parts you know and it doesn’t work out never comes together enough there’s the threshold to justify the other stuff or to get the most out of the other stuff yeah yeah so he’ll be an interesting one here i think we have a little break a little break here though we can go to our big boards for uh Brendan vote so we all came up with a big board again this is of usually we do this trying to like the Nuggets are actually going to take a guy it’s a little weird this year cuz where do you even make a board yeah i don’t have a range really because I don’t the Nuggets don’t have a pick so here’s what I did i did one blue chip guy one cheap pick and then three guys that could be mid to late for real we’ll go with my blue chip i already told you Dylan Harper um I’m I’m just It’s Jersey that’s all it is and then if we’re going to stick with that kind of regional love how about Nick Clifford uh a do it all kind of wing type of course from Colorado State shout out the Rams and I think I believe he’s in that sort of late mid to to to late first range as of right now he might go though i’ve seen him mocked like as high as like 11 or something and I’ve seen him mocked as low as late he’s one of those swing guys where I think he’s going to go high maybe different maybe different scouts have have a different feel on what he he could bring to the table but I think the utility wings right now like it’s the type archetype of player I sure wish Denver had one of yeah no kidding so So he’s in there walton Clear Clayton Jr i think is really the official that boy nice watcher pick of the draft we all saw what he did at the highest level of college basketball in the tournament the late game heroics over and over again a give me the rot guy because that’s it’s just sort of he’s gonna get up a wild shot and you feel like it’s gonna go in and I think because of that how well does that scale up at his size to the NBA there are questions about him consider him a real wild card but yeah I saw what he did i got to put him on my list i needed a tiny a small king if you will i went with Jace Richardson here the sharpshooter lefty who is also a product of an NBA father and man is this not the way the league is going guys who have this long sort of advantage of of not just the resources and the access but I think the the role model like we always talk about the people in your corner how about someone who’s done it right and and made it work for themselves so I I like him and then this is my real cheat one i think Cedric Coward could go a little higher possibly well his name is Cedric Coward so I had to That’s a tough sports name man witch Kale which kale transitions me to a super secret list that I made on my own oh let’s go and that is Brendan votes name guy list i think the Nets who have a lot of picks if they don’t make any trades they should draft both fears and coward nickname potential is ridiculous how about Bogle Yub Marovich uh Yannik Conanneerhouser and Javon Small one of the smallest guys in the draft i like that hey I love this list just a little What is it bulab Marovich uh Bogalyab Marovich oh that is great i mean I don’t know anyone else with that name man so and who’s who’s our other guy that’s going undrafted probably Dink Pate put him on there as the list that’s right i like it are you a fan of Fears i’m kind I like Coward a little more i like Coward a little bit more see I like Fears i’m not so sure coward elite grandpa name not the greatest athlete name yeah if you’re like “Yeah my grandpa Cedric Howard.” People really are like “Dang.” Walter Clayton Jr to me feels good it feels powerful right we He could run the bank we have downstairs i only trust my money to Walter Clayton Jr where else would I go with my money uh all right i like uh I like your list it was very I like I like Dylan Harper being on there it is cheating i think it’s ridiculous though to go with a number two you wouldn’t do that i would not do that you would not take I think it’s ridiculous we should have been looking at late first guys ridiculous man time to go to Adam’s list all right let’s go to my board i put him by his I got Cooper well he’s not the number two i like him you guys i put him on my board because of this i love Cooper Fleck i’m not afraid to say it he is my He is like the number one draft pick of my type of guy you know what I mean i’m not afraid to say it yeah high high IQ good defense everything though just kind of good at everything and then I just think the guy’s an animal man like he has animal nature to him i do like These are not in order by the way i didn’t put these in order danny Wolf I do love come on of course I’m going to love this dude have you guys seen him funky as hell this is more your guy this is my guy this is your prototype is he actually good i actually don’t think the Nugget should take him i don’t know risk but but he is good though man doesn’t it feel like there’s some like Drew Timmy risk course of college basketball player we’ll see you in the G- League a thousand% i mean I I here’s the one thing I I think you shouldn’t try to draft the next Steph Curry you shouldn’t try to draft the next Nickelode you know what I mean there’s one of those guys and everybody else is like whatever uh we do have a pick coming in but I Nate Clifford as well i mean I what’s not to love i think he’s going to be one of those guys that every team wishes they had one of those guys a thousand you watch the playoffs it’s like oh yeah all the conference finalists have like five of these guys in the finals the Thunder Pacers each team had seven neat Cliffords on their team I think uh also rebounds the hell out of the ball from guards i love guard rebounding totally uh Igor Deon i like I think they call Iiggor i think I’ve seen on some of these oh I was going to compliment you on nailing the pronunciation i’m not sure that’s why I kind of went with both terrible at names i like this guy though I will say another guy I fear might suck because I love all of his G again what is my type guys who with vision they can pass his passing is unbelievable if you pressure him full court can he dribble around you probably not a little bit of a concern he’s the one who’s 69 in shoes right yeah 69 i mean that’s pretty big for a guard i know you know I know when I was comping him I’m like France Vagner oh and then Walter Clayton i I do love Walter Clayton man i think that guy is incredible so uh I see the vision with him so those are my guys we do have a new pick that is in there let’s go conipal conipal to Charlotte to Charlotte man I don’t love him there what a weird situation Charlotte is i know ball Brandon Miller sangun was it last year who no what do you mean the who was their first their like top 10 pink was the Tjani saloon right the French like what are we doing here you know I’m kind of named you guys got you guys and now Khan added to the mix i’m not sure i’m not sure i will say legs likes this guy a lot i agler pick right here for whatever floor as I mean outside of the consensus top two guys I thought he was the safest guy because you start to talk yourself into Jeremiah Fears and Trey Johnson and it’s like oh man why do people have Kanipple ahead of them and then you look into Kanipple and it’s like oh because all the things those other guys hypothetically do Kananipple already does yeah um like he’s already he kind of reminds me of Reed Shepard in some ways last year you know where it’s like the dude just checks off every box you know um he already has that secondary playmaking the shooting is insane 40% three-point shooter 91% uh free throw shooter uh good rebounder showed some good physicality so it’s like and he’s got the movement shooting and like the other guys only have the movement shooting and you’re kind of talking yourself into the rest this guy brings everything else already had a really impressive season at Duke but yeah I don’t know is he the fourth best team on a fourth best starter on a contender that’s more like where’s the where’s the ceiling cuz the floor’s high but where’s the ceiling and maybe the swing skill is the pick and roll upside he’s not he’s as you mentioned shooting is the headline yes and and and and all kinds of shooting not just catch and shoot including movement you can put the ball in his hands is he dynamic with it probably that’s overselling it but he made some plays we got a moth that’s going to be fun for the show we have a moth that’s brand new have we had kind of a like blessing walter Clayton may be coming to Denver n Clifford is on his way i don’t know is there any culture that puts moths on such a pedestal good omen or bad omen but can he can say bad omen can he be a creator with the ball in his hands and pick and roll and then you know obviously like the the the defensive stuff athleticism stuff not to be boxing him into any sort of stereotypes no but that is the that’s the knock but those are indeed the knocks on conip though I guess he surprised people at the combine like I thought the combine testing was better than people expected so maybe that alleviates some of the athleticism he does have a little bit of of uh Christian Brown in him and that he has now on screen we’re learning four brothers that all look just like different sizes of him it’s like it’s almost like I’m looking at the evolution of him also honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a face that is more indicative of he’s a future NBA GM like in 40 years that guy’s running a front office or I will streak down Kofax you can clip that it also feels like the pronunciation of their last name was pretty avoidable canipple and you look at that last name you go how are you getting nipple from that how think your all name team didn’t include Kaniple it didn’t include it wasn’t spelled on the Casper Jackavicious we’ve got some good ones we do have a little bit of a break here before our next pick so we’re going to take our first commercial break first of two commercial breaks here on this show but we will be back with the fifth pick as well as Andre’s board we haven’t got to his big board and then we’re going to talk about the trades that have already happened and how they affect the Nuggets here on the other side first up First Bank whether on the road or at home Mando nicely done nice i’m sorry but during those ad reads we missed the most incredible graphic it was Coniple’s five brothers and their names you got it you got it rock us through it so uh Khan the sec there he’s actually Khan the second okay then there’s Kager with us here kager kale’s got us covered too kinston uh with a K they’re all with a K cash and kid man when they had three and it was like that’s our three boys all with a K like do you do you know where this family is from cuz that’s like the most Wisconsin family yeah that was I would have guessed Wisconsin already first quote misstep of the day was Coniple telling someone the letter K is a very special letter to their family i’m just kidding you guys are so right wisconsin Lutheran High School oh yeah you guys know ball yes oh my god that’s amazing that’s incredible and now we have a new pick and I’m very curious about this one cuz here’s where things can turn and it looks like they are taking with a number five pick mike Miller lied to me no it’s Ace Bailey our fears have come true our fears have not come true wait agents don’t lie bailey liars ace Bailey now will be going to the Utah Jazz the Utah Jazz man so he didn’t work out with anybody to go to Utah well he kind of didn’t want to work out with the teams in the top five that’s a great point he was trying to make it so that he could go 678 instead he ends up in one of the teams he did not want to be part of oh man and they’re just swinging on upside they don’t even they don’t even care if there’s like a pulse attached they’re just like they’re just buying stocks you know Ace Bailey is a nice stock chad saying probably should have taken that workout with Philly i like the idea of just a guy being like I don’t think I want you to come and guess what guess what guess what they’re coming here come on down utah’s beautiful sometimes so now Ace and Joker in the same uh division so Ace Bailey Ace Bailey can we call him confidently the chucker of this draft class no there’s one worse I thought but there Well look a Ace Ace Bailey is a hooper hooper he loves Kevin Durant he’s 610 he feels like there are no bad shots for him the efficiency numbers would actually tell a different story that there are some bad shots for him right so but obviously tough shot making is an important skill at the next level especially in the playoffs sometimes it’s about we know what your best defense looks like i’m going to hit this shot anyway he has that type of mentality that type of confidence but there’s a lot of area for improvement in terms of the finishing the shot selection ultimately and he’s not much of a passer despite wanting the ball in his hands a lot you mentioned Rooker struggling a bit personally I think maybe Ace Bailey as a fit was part of that he took a he he’s taking the brunt of the blame i don’t think Harper is taking much of it but I but Dre a lot of upside all the same right is that a fair description would you say yeah i mean it’s it’s that mold it’s that prototype you’ve got a guy who’s 69 you know 610 plus with shoes who can shoot it handle it be a go-to scorer and yeah you start having visions of Kevin Durant who’s who you brought up in the first sentence of the breakdown mike is another great example right like healthy Mike is a he’s like a basketball udonist there’s a reason Paul George is like revered by certain sections of cuz they’re just like those guys are super fun to to watch and when they work out boy do they really pan out but he is entirely hypothetical right now and that’s what’s weird about this draft it’s got these you know this one can’t miss guy at the top a consensus second and this range of the draft is like heavy hypothetical yeah um and I think you know as far as like the things the Jazz could have done to scare me the most as a Nuggets fan this was probably the best outcome this scares me the least right well he wanted I thought because he wanted his own team you know they didn’t want him to go to somewhere where he wasn’t going to be and Utah could be that i mean what does Utah really have going on right now lots of opportunities the dominant onball guys at Utah are Stexton right i mean I’m trying to think like you have guys like Markin that are high-profile but an offball threat you know a good shooter yeah i mean maybe there’s room to just Utah’s a weird team in that they seem committed to sort sort of rebuild that they’re also kind of stubborn about with the trades they don’t make i’m not really sure what direction Utah’s headed in but I mean this is just a he failed to five he’s talented let’s take the swing right i’m a smidge surprised no trades yet in the top five i’m a little surprised too to be honest it’s been a little bit slow uh you know out the gate here uh now that we have a little break though why don’t we round out our own personal our guys board here we haven’t done yours yet have we yeah let’s do it all right Andre little overlap here but I’m all in on Eigor uh yeah that’s a prototype I have a hard time not I love a pass loving a guy with vision oversized passer creator um yeah I mean the concerns are real like the concerns are you pressure him on ball can he dribble past you you uh contest his shot can he make it the answer has kind of been mixed they’re calling him a 69 picket that’s what they’re saying hearing that left and right but we love him we love him that’s right former Real Madrid like high-end prospect who comes to to college to get that bag at BYU and a mixed result maybe not the most efficient but the upside’s easy to see he’s a guy who apparently was lights out in workouts and I think we’ll we’ll surprise and go pretty high derek Queen’s another guy um I do love Der so DMV i can’t believe he didn’t make your list derek Queen derek Queen oh Derek Queen yeah he could have been up there you’re right dmv boys oh man we know we have Baltimore right yeah there’s a there’s a Pelicans connection where I guess the Pelicans GM is from the DMV and his son was on the Maryland staff oh wow so could be penciled in at seven though he’s a that is not supposed to he’s a chubby four like if I have Zion Williamson I’m not in on more chubby force would you be i like you know with all respect to Derek but IQ pooper uh the the questions are like uh could he work harder could he get in better shape at 19 I’m okay to be like you know what he’ll figure it out um and he is the second Montver High School teammate of Cooper Flag to make my list derek Queen is the first liam McNeely is the second had a rough freshman season at Yukon where maybe he was asked to do a little more on ball but this guy is a straight shooter when I watched him in high school I was like “Wow he’s going to be a consensus top five kid.” Like easy peasy yukon it was a little disappointing the shooting numbers were concerning i think it’s just a bad freshman year and we’ll look you know honestly I think he’s the Jared McCain of this class where it’s like guy who came in coming into the season we thought could be a top 10 pick then the season happens and it’s like eh maybe more top 20 and then in the NBA where more spacing will suit him more creation around him will suit him so you think McNeely is the new McCain i think he’s got some McCain just doing the the name thing no no we’re not we’re not wasn’t sure um white guy likes too so he’s got a unique look six is actually kind of where the draft starts so let’s see and it’s important for my bet at seven so really lay it on me Kale lay it on me oh damn tease here this is our fourth pump fake of a trap show we’re messing with you man we’re messing with you we love you Kale you make this show i’ll be interested to ask CT who we will hear from again shortly I believe here right that’s right is is I guess if you had to find a reach so far it’s not a reach but I guess Canippo going four is the closest thing to maybe maybe maybe I mean not a reach but not quite chalk but you know CT on his board had con sixth so there you go ace he had 10th okay and EJ you had ninth yeah wow I love it I love I love his own a man with his own board in fact let’s bring him back in uh let’s welcome Welcome back in CT Fazio we’re reminded real quickly that we are sponsored by Red Hawk Roofing you guys if you need a a roof over your home or business make sure you call them 7207718921 uh and let’s bring him back in i want to hear what he’s what he For the last picks uh I think Khan was a really great pick okay at uh at three definitely more of a safe option center yourself there you go there you go so much harder than you think i swear from the arena every time every time i was trying to figure it out for a second but uh with with Khan I think he’s more of a safe option um highly efficient this year uh at Duke being the second option to uh Cooper Flag um really efficient shooter i think a guy who’s just low mistake high feel for the game i think he’s honestly going to help out Charlotte a lot they just need some some players who I think are are more safe options than going for the high upside guys um to answer your question CT Trey Johnson just got uh taken by Washington with the number six pick was this what you needed no we needed Trey Johnson to be a lie for the seventh pick so this is not good how do you feel about Trey Johnson i really like Trey Johnson i had him at four on my board okay um best shooter in the class in my opinion um a guy who got up around seven threes a game uh at 66 23 and three on 43 40 87 uh I think he’s an underrated playmaker uh especially as an interior passer but he was a guy who just had a ton of usage this year uh at Texas and not really having a lot more ancillary creation guys around him so he had to do a lot of the the shot making and shot taking but I think he’s the best shooter in the class and uh I got a sad year for you one of four freshman ever to average 19 plus points a game uh 83 he made 83s and 38% from three uh and a 112 offensive rating uh can you guess the three players uh in the last couple drafts in the last couple of drafts he’s one of four okay so 19 one of them is a Nugget as a freshman you said Jamal Murray yes oh it’s got to be Jamal uh maybe another Kentucky guy another Kentucky guy huh devin Booker no he wasn’t point malik Monk malik Monk oh yeah that makes sense and then the last one is D’Angelo Russell d’angelo Russell all right let’s drop off a little there at the end yeah so Trey Johnson I mean elite shooter but also another hooper’s hooper right like deep bag self-creator can just go and get you one out of the mud is that is that a fair description definitely i do think he’s a bit more um in control than a guy like Camp Thomas where he’s not just going to you know go out there and and shoot relentlessly i think he could play in a team construct uh I think in Washington especially I think it’s a pretty good fit um you know playing beside Alex Sar um in the front court um you know they lost Jordan Pool added TJ McCullum i think that’s a good move for his development um you know having a guy who’s a bit more of a you know a playmaker uh offensive option as well um but I think with Trey best shooter in the class um I think he’s really going to be a dynamic uh player for Washington but it’s just the the efficiency mixed with the the volume is something that really put you know had me putting him at at top four on my board does he have a bit of a Joe Johnson release like it’s a little high he kind of has like a high release to his shot i mean it looks pretty it doesn’t look weird it just it almost gives him an extra couple inches of clearance yeah he has a high release especially for a guy at 66 um he’s a bit bigger for a two guard um and again I think for him it’s not going to be just going out there and shooting the ball i think he has more to his game as he’s an underrated playmaker um defensively was definitely a bad year for him for sure especially with the offensive usage but I think in a a more scaleback role I think he’ll be he’ll be ultimately fine on that end of the floor he’s kind of scrawny though now little bit little bit um definitely not uh the most bulky guard uh but I do think you know he’s got a wiry frame uh it’s made to score um good finisher in the paint as well so I think you know defensively there’ll probably be some problems to start but I I do think ultimately be fine so Ace Bailey comes into the division he’s a guy Denver will probably start seeing you had him low in your rankings here so why what why do you hate Ace Bailey i actually I I like Ace Bailey but I do think that was a reach of pick uh for the Jazz um in the top five uh like V said before about you know jersey guys you know he played a Ruckers right down the road for me uh so I was able to see Harper and Bailey play a bunch in person this year um Bailey is the in the ilk of the Jabari Smith MPJ type of players where um you know where the scoring isn’t going what else can you contribute uh and I think with Ace he’s probably the best defender of the group jabar is a good defender as well as rim protector definitely a little taller but I think Ace has more one v one poa uh potential um pretty good shot blocker as well as a wing but he did measure out a bit smaller than what was projected at Ruckers ruckers had him I think around like 610 and ultimately ended up about 67 68 so a bit small on that end of the floor and I I don’t think he’s a great creator doesn’t have a great handle at the moment so I think the scoring ultimately is going to be what you know is the boomer boss there for him but um he’s a good shooter got up five threes a game this year 35% from three uh I think ultimately if he’s a play finisher playing next to a dynamic guard uh I think he’ll be fine but the ability to fit into a role I think is the question for Ace you know there’s a lot of pre-draft questions about you know did he want to be the guy are they steering him to a certain direction um and I think with Utah he’s going to get unlimited reps for sure you know being in in in that construct but um I do think ultimately him fitting into a team construct is what’s going to make or break his career let me ask you as we kind of move now towards trades or teams that are in the trade hunt the San Antonio who used their pick they kept Dylan Harper you know what do you think about San Antonio where they’re at what do you think about their guards they’re accumulating over there and does it make sense to you just right now yeah I actually remember Adam I went on DMVR for when the the Dear Fox trade dropped uh we spoke about that trade that’s right you know at the time and I think with with Fox I think that move honestly was a bit bit too early in the process i think they could have probably panned the league a bit more for a uh an upgrade uh I would say a better player that could a better player that could maybe uh you know help complement uh WBY a bit more i think Fox is a really good player but I do think that they probably could have shot for more of an upside play um it’s a bit odd of a fit now because Harper’s a guy who who kind of needs the ball in his hands he could play off the ball uh as well um but he’s a guy mainly who’s you know navigating pick and roll um really dynamic splitting defenses uh you know weaving in and out of the mid-range um I think the pull-up shooting is going to be the really big swing skill for him but he did show uh you know an ability to hit uh catch and shoot threes this year uh 50 55 attempts around 35 or 36% from threes so um I think he could play beside another guard but I do think it takes away some of his uh you know strengths playing next to more of a ball dominant guard we uh the pick is coming in right now for the New Orleans Pelicans so we’ll have you react to this and then we’ll uh we’ll let you go here but I am curious to see where they go new Orleans never makes sense to me jordan Pool just seems like a team that’s teetering and has a rough culture and everything else you bring Jordan P into it just sounds crazy but you know what do I know um let’s see who they went with jeremiah Fear so there it is he’s going to New Orleans um oh he’s got the chain of the night for sure does he that’s a That’s a college football player nil Aaron chain oh yeah that’s what’s up that’s I don’t know if that Look there’s Mike Miller there there was a little disappointed I think with where where he doesn’t look exactly excited to be going to New Orleans i guess I can’t blame him for the agent the client going to Utah versus New Orleans is a big win you know you keep them out of trouble in Utah yeah maybe New Orleans trouble’s waiting around the corner i mean that organization seems a little asleep at the wheel uh are you a Fierce fan yes big Fears fan i had him top five on my board um I think the context at Oklahoma was really really tough for him uh youngest player in the conference uh one of the leading scorers in the conference as well and the SEC was probably the most competitive conference you know in college basketball this year but uh I think there there’s a lot of room for improvement with Fierce especially on the development side of his shot he shot really well in high school the shot this year didn’t really pan out that well um but he’s a walking paint touch you know advantage creator and those are kind of the players that I I want to target you know in the top five of the class you know guys who can operate as an engine and I think Fierce has that capability you know he 51.8 free throw rate second among guards in the class um so he’s a guy who’s able to generate paint touches and uh you know finish at the rim uh really good stop and start ability as well so he’s a guy that I I actually wanted him for Brooklyn i thought that would have been a dynamic fit you know with Jordy over there but um I think in New Orleans he’s going to get uh some pretty good leeway as far as some uh you know ability to play through mistakes he talked about CJ McCollum going uh and maybe helping Trey Johnson the fit now in New Orleans I don’t know i don’t know what that back court looks like you know i don’t know what their future back court is because you’re right generate paint and touches i guess I just don’t know what direction they’re going as a team i feels like this well what I’m trying to figure out is it does it signal that they’re going to just like make a bunch of trades now because they’ve been signaling that then didn’t pull the trigger and I wonder if it makes sense to bring him in to the Herb Jones you know Trey Murphy Zion crew it seems a little weird to me i agree i think they’re probably looking to flip some guys you know whether it’s a Herb Jones or I mean Zion I think his value is a bit tough right now uh considering all of you know the injury concerns and uh some of the recent developments there but I I wouldn’t be shocked if if New Orleans is able to move off of some other guys i I’m not convinced that P is is a guy who’s long-term for New Orleans you know on the duration of his contract so um you know I do I do like the pick though i I think you know picking him at at pick seven was or pick six was a really good pick uh for New Orleans offside play and I think they need that honestly you know especially with with the question surrounding Zion they absolutely do all right CT we’re going to let you go but we’ll have we’ll bring you back here in about five picks or so and we’ll see if uh the trades start to uh percolate here a little sounds good uh all right why don’t we take our second and final break here and on the other side there were a bunch of trades that we need to start breaking down here in the Western Conference uh including Kevin Durant to Houston which we haven’t even touched on on this show at any point this week so we’ll do it on the other side you know one term guys are going to hear a lot during the NBA draft a floor team shoring up their floors players with high floors what you don’t want in in Brooklyn but we can go to our big board here kale what do we got what are we looking at best player available pretty chocked so far fellas pretty chocked so far the entire top seven just so yeah just really depending on whose big board you’re looking at it’s just about the order here maybe with Ace and Con by the way there is a great draft guide and big board up uh at the dnvr.com right now on for all networks and all city thanks for our guys Derek Bodner and um well Gotautle and Gotautly as well of course who have crushed this so Derek Queen the next guy up Queen has drawn some Jokic comps guys depending on who you talk to him right I don’t know about the Jokic comps I like the Sangon comps more yeah I think those are better for sure it would be funny if we never comp anyone to Joic but we always comp them to the Jokic acolytes he reminds me a lot of Sabonis yeah that’s right he’s got a lot of Olen in his game yeah Jokic is a bit much but well listen Colorado fans you know him as the as the fellow who maybe possibly traveled and certainly all the same we actually Yeah we’re kind of not big Cedric uh or Dairy Queen guys here on this show I should say no yeah that was a tough one um let’s start talking about some of these trades though fellas that happened here over the weekend uh actually the pick is being announced right now i don’t know if you guys have seen it igor Deon eagle eagle our guy dre to Brooklyn go to Brooklyn let’s see if that’s actually true cuz this is coming from Michael SC mini surprise a shout out to Michael yep wow i do like this guy man yep and they have all these picks and this was the first one they used very interesting i do like this guy though go ahead he was one of your guys go off oh I thought you were loading up for That was clear in my throat i apologize those can sound like the same i mean I have this belief about seeing the court is like it’s just you can’t it it in some ways can’t be taught and the guy really has great touch on his passes he can throw every type of pass it’s funny they said he looked great in workouts because that would be my fear about him is he seems like a guy who has all of the skill to be this great point guard but can he handle that that skill does it translate when the pressure’s up i don’t know um but nonetheless I love the guy and uh you know you slim around him with some talent i actually am excited to kind of watch him play yeah I think he’s 11 years old a nice like swing for Brooklyn who’s kind of at this point like I think right now if you’re not in on Dairy Queen maybe the next best up was Milwauke and I don’t know if you’d go like what’s that going to do to you for when you’re Brooklyn you know like just have a a good defensive center that you got to develop like the Derek Lively of the Strap class i don’t know that that makes sense for Brooklyn pick a swing like this on a guy who does have that passing who maybe even if it’s a 5% chance there is a scenario where he could be a guy that’s really the driving engine of your of your offense you know although interesting to make a I guess what you could argue a reach or you know certainly not the chalk move of the night so far when you have so many draft picks I mean clearly they really clearly they really like this guy I mean look jumbo guard right 68 without shoes maybe around 69 out there on the court uh that’s big man and he’s the best passer in this draft class probably but you know he’s not like Jeremiah Fierce has that really great combination of a guy can go get you a bucket and make some plays as a lead guard there are some questions here about Igor with going and getting a bucket with the shooting and all of that but it’s a fun player it’s a funky player and a chance to be a unique one in this draft class he is a tough autocorrect name though always auto corrected always it’s like how on the iPhone now you know will not let you do Giannis it’s always Giannis with an apostrophe and it it automatically does it every time it’s so annoying unbelievable those sobs they got to stop them let’s talk about the big trades though because that’s really what pertains to the Nuggets here big trades right we tried to do this the Houston Rockets we have not talked about this even though it’s a few days old the Houston Rockets have received Kevin Durant that pick’s like coming up uh it is coming up and the Phoenix Suns are received Jaylen Green i’ve heard of him uh Dylan Brooks Cooper the 10th pick in this draft to your point in five second rounders yeah and there it is displayed on the screen all for Kevin Durant yeah what’s this do what’s this do to you guys for your perception of the Rockets more scared than you were last year I Yeah i mean I think there was a version of a KD trade where if they overpaid for it you I would have been ready to brand it the wrong move for sure but they didn’t overpay for him did they and that’s that’s the thing i think ultimately their their camp and Kevin Durant’s camp as well uh Rich Kimman did a good job of negotiating this down scaring off other teams ultimately I think for this what you’re giving up it’s a no-brainer cuz I don’t think they gave up on their vision for who they are don’t know if they accelerated their timeline really if anything they opened up uh playing time for some other guys like Lor and Shepard so I mean I I don’t think KD is you traded for him and now you’re going to win a title the way some people once did but for that price I think it’s I think it’s a no-brainer yeah he’s also a baby 19 years old you know he looks like it i mean he looks like a guy that is going to be look different in three four years so Oh you’re talking Deon yeah yeah yeah you just switched up on us we’re talking Houston oh sorry i had a they were it happens you’re good um it’s a nice consolidation of assets and you get away with getting KD without giving up Reed Shepard without giving up Thompson without giving up Jabari Smith right so that’s kind of nice it’s very nice are you in on this the KD trade it makes you more scared here’s my thing on KD yes it does because I do think that the Rockets were not scary and he does give them like this they have depth they were able to keep all those guys including Cam Whitmore somehow y but I do have this feeling about it’s so hard to make it through i think one of the things teams have to think about now in the NBA that they didn’t have to think about in years past is that it’s really hard physically to make it through four rounds of the playoffs we just saw this entire playoffs was about teams falling apart you know and it was like well they bit the dust cuz the guy got injured here or there and I just look at it and I go do I really buy Kevin Durant at this age to be able to go 82 games probably not maybe 60 games but they’re they have the depth to survive that but then in the playoffs he’s so important to what they do is he gonna be able to do this in the third and fourth rounds of the playoffs i know it’s a good question it’s a I doubt it i just I would bet again that’s a question for everybody but me personally I would say I doubt Kevin Durant’s ability to do that i would agree i agree with that which is why I which is why I sort of felt the same way that I was just articulating like there was a lesson to learn from what Phoenix did trading in a really healthy ecosystem for that and I think even all these years later it would have been increasingly unwise to do so but they just didn’t like they this is this is a they found a way to make Kevin Durant a flyer honestly all things considered with compared to what their Godfather offer looks like so from that standpoint I think it’s a wise move but I don’t I’m not penciling them into the finals i will pencil them into tier one in the West and I not everybody will but to me they do vault up now I look at OKC and I look at Houston and I say those teams on paper to me going into next year at this very moment things are going to change at this very moment they look like teams that I would expect to win a lot of games and the thing is because they didn’t have to give up that many assets they have more trades in them if they need they get to the deadline and determine there’s a lot of guys they could kind of pack there so I look at this more than anything I’m just pissed that the West keeps getting better oh the West today is getting way better so they’re the scariest of the three Texas teams to you cuz you know San Antonio scares me dallas scares me a lot the Kyrie hangup’s enough i think the Kyrie hangup is is enough well not to mention AD how much can you trust AD’s health on top of Kyrie yeah the that the that hangup is a lot but I just look at their size in the front court i’m like that to me Joic is everything to Denver you know and he struggled a little bit although was by far the best player now that we go through the the playoffs are over by far the best player against the Oklahoma City Thunder you guys see the stat about 35 point games against Oklahoma City he had three of them in the regular season the rest of the NBA two he had two of them in the playoffs the rest of the NBA had zero ridiculous and everyone’s like two 40 game points against them in the playoffs and no one in the regular season or playoffs in Joic did that and and everybody was like he was he shot poorly he shot inefficiently like guys that was actually by far the most efficient player we saw against that defense but it is the formula and that’s why Dallas is there but yes I do think it’s it’s Houston just because of the amount of players they have they have a lot of players man they have a lot of players my other thing about Kevin Durant the subtext of me saying I don’t know if he’ll make it i This sounds like a hot take i sound like Kendrick Perkins saying this i just don’t know if I count on Kevin Durant to be this like force multiplier that most great players are and so part of me just wonders if there’s a weirdness of is he actually going to make them better you know or is it going to in some ways inhand one hand out the other i I know it sounds like a hot take but it’s how I feel about him i mean Durant’s a guy who as far as proven 1A maybe the most fascinating person to look at ever because is he a proven 1A he’s certainly proven and won as an MVP and an NBA champion on one of the greatest teams of all time where he was one of the greatest if not the greatest additions of all time is Jury not still out on Kevin Durant as a leader in a 1A i kind of think it’s fair to ask that question still uh all the same all the same i think Houston did some good business here and the pick is in now for Toronto the Toronto Raptors have taken Colin Murray Boils wow um what do we think here boys draymond Green interesting for Toronto right he’s a he’s an interesting profile just because he’s he’s like a four who moves well who’s good defensively he’s got some good versatility defensively then people start talking about I could even see him as a small ball five i’m like yesesh I don’t know about that he’s got the good wingspan almost 71 wingspan he does i mean it’s another like kind of gritty athlete that Toronto’s adding in hopes that we can unearth a little more offensive upside than maybe other teams saw coming in and but like yeah can your franchise be built on just Scotty Barnes you know right just an army of Scotty Barnes just Yeah this really does feel like such a Raptor’s pick man they’re just the most unique bodies and types of players in the league they can add yeah i mean that Draymond kind of inspired everyone to look at tweener undersized elite defender four fives a little differently i just think you have to be so good for that to actually manifest you know for uh it’s still ultimately a vertically challenged guy that you’re looking at in terms of the the defensive sort of versatility and and how strong he could be in playing up and all of that don’t know if he passes just the sort of name check right off the bat call in Murray Boils could that be an NBA player name i don’t know i don’t We’re getting a lot of hyphenated names lately that is true hyphen is back ronda Hollis Jefferson boils feels tough but Murray works all right jay’s out trey is out well and then I mean he’s got this safer package but then also as a freshman was averaging like 16 points in the SEC you know so I don’t want to underell what he brings to the table but he is he was he’s one of those weird scouting reports to read where it’s like oh I like the pros and then you get to the cons and it’s like woof right those cons uh boy not exactly my type of guy usually but I mean for him to go top 10 though good for him man and the Raptors are a weird team they are such a weird team man they’re all the same height uh by the way CT just uh DM’d he said a totally my type of player which I agree i like the type of bigs that have like funky skill sets a smart big good passer smart funk and and just like funky skill sets you know usually it’s like a big man you’re thinking oh post score rebound this or that i like guys that have some like weird uh weird skills um let’s move on to the other trade that happened the Portland Trailblazers acquired Drew Holiday while the Boston Celtics tore down their roster but received Anthony Simons and two second round picks i’m going to be honest I love this for the Portland Trailblazers i know it sounds a little weird they’re they were really good in the back half especially the back third of the season they look like they actually had something cooking and Drew Holiday is the type of player you bring in to get them to the next level do I think they’re like a threat in the playoffs no but I do look at it and say did Portland get better yes I think Portland got better even if you like Anthony Simons he was the guy that didn’t quite fit where they were going and so I look at this vote and I’m kind of like damn man that the West doesn’t have that many teams that suck the Yeah the Portland was already flirting with being kind of good they they were for sure the best not good team is that a fair way to put it i think they’re now kind of pretty good i think they’re now kind of pretty good and here’s the thing that everyone goes “Well I don’t want to see them in the playoffs.” Okay but you see them in the regular season and you know for a team like Denver that already is well if we all play if we play the young guys too much we’ll be in the playin you know these are these are games that are just that much harder to win now so yeah I’m not it’s a weird move for Portland sometimes you there are moves that inch your winning culture forward does that make sense so does Drew make the Trailblazers a contender no but if Portland has decided they like their young pieces and they want winning to be a part of what they do you bring in a smart vet a really well-liked vet i should I should say and and he pushes the winning culture forward so no no later yeah could he be there like Millsap that is exactly what I was thinking you know even if the Blazers aren’t quite there yeah like not all these signings are Yeah sometimes winning culture has to take a step forward and maybe that’s what they were doing there on the flip side guys seems like such a good trade like a contender couldn’t get in on this price for Drew like Drew has tailed off a little bit i will say that valuable and there’s the three years here’s why I also love it for Portland is and and shout out to Kevin Oconor for this take i think he’s right you get him now and the get the guys bring them up be a good vet speed along the process you might get him another year where he’s just useful but now your team’s better and then he’s an expiring contract that you need at the point so it’s almost like he’s going to check all three years he has value to them even if he gets traded for sure and then on the other side guys oh yeah here’s your chance close up close up really good business by Brad Stevens i get it they need to get under the apron that was ownership’s mandate I’m sure anthony Simons with an expiring you got a couple second round draft pick it’s over man it’s over whatever whatever comes next it comes next doesn’t it this is over it’s in the past thank God who I believe in again i’ve That’s so true though hey by the way congrats you know what it It could have been Could have been better it could have been a lot worse but it could have been a lot worse could have been a lot worse it could have been a lot worse believe me i thought about it oh yeah I was worried about it oh yeah there was a lot of dynasty talk there for months there’s a lot of Anthony Simon fans i will say that i am not among them do not count me i think he has a lot of skill not my type of player people like hoopers people do i mean is he in our town like little tiny skinny guys maybe I shouldn’t even say this on this broadcast but we’re we’re with friends uh our staff uh big J.R smith fans hooper’s hooper i at the time remember lots of frustration watching J.R smith play basketball you know I’m telling you it was a simpler time though we had this with Will Barton when everyone held Will Barton i was like guys we used to love J.R smith way dumber than Willart to be fair Dre is friends like Dre works with mostly people my age and we like grew up when J.R smith was so like when I was 13 I thought J.R smith was the coolest person alive that’s like eating ice cream ice cream for dinner no one tells you like “Hey that’s not how it’s done.” You have ourselves a trade boys let’s go oh my gosh it is of the blockbuster variety the Charlotte Hornets are trading center Mark Williams to the Phoenix Suns Lakers legend for the 29th pick tonight and a 2029 first round pick wait so the 29th pick wait a second they got both of the Hornets centers remember they got Richards i was just going to say didn’t they get Richards last time last time they looked at Charlotte and were like that’s the that’s the centers we need right there that’s the And they were trading Hold on two first round picks how did the Hornets just couldn’t trade Mark Williams cuz he failed a physical and flipped him for two first round picks well Matt Ishbia you know he wasn’t that involved lately so he has to get more involved am I reading this correctly it’s two first round picks two Phoenix is sending out two first round draft picks correct and they’re getting one is the 29th pick of this draft so it’s a very low pick it’s a bonafide early second right but at the same time the future the Phoenix Suns 2029 first like isn’t that something isn’t that valuable now forget in 2029 guys I’m ready to say the brave punk no one else is ready to say i don’t think the Phoenix Suns know what they’re doing i’m willing to say also will Mark Williams pass the physical this time or or does Phoenix just not care that’s the biggest thing just Phoenix well I can’t say what I’m going to say by the way where pick we’re going to come back to in a second another uh pick is in though this time the Houston Rockets are taking I might let you pronounce this one oh yeah i’m Come on Malo man malik Malik there it is uh big man there with the Duke great story tell us about it yeah I mean he’s come from the NBA Africa um program so he’s kind of new to the game it’s why some people thought there would be a bit of a Messiah and uh Toronto connection there since Messiah’s kind of spearheaded uh some of that program was with Khan and Cooper uh flag the part of the the three freshman trio of this spectacular Duke team very new to the game um you know it’s the length and defense is what you’re buying in on him only averaged 1.3 blocks per game so even the block numbers aren’t otherworldly it’s the defensive range that you’re really buying into and you’re buying into he’s raw he’s new to the game the offensive stuff will come because I the hands aren’t great the finishing isn’t great like he is raw raw raw but people say he’s an amazing kid he had a great season with Duke and defensively I mean he’s just rangy as ever so he’s a interesting package and he went to Phoenix that was I think their pickup 10 or no they got calling Houston but it was a trade it was for Phoenix it was for Phoenix phoenix is going so the the dust has settled and Phoenix would is adding both bigs here so they’re going they’re adding Mark Williams and Mark Williams yeah so Nick Richard’s probably available then both extremely young think about all the centers they’ve been going through the Phoenix has been going through uh over the last handful of years they all blamed Eightton you remember me for everything and probably rightly so i’m not trying to defend Eightton here a little gone through a bunch of dudes quick clarification so it’s not the Sun’s own first round pick in 2029 they’re sending out uh it’s the least favorable of the uh Cleveland Utah Minnesota ones the least favorable which means you have three teams in 2029 one of those is bound to be like late you know like one of those teams is going to be good right and they’re one through five protected anyway um so yeah so consider it two weak first rounders for Mark Williams but then to do that and take uh uh help me out yeah thank you so yeah that is a wild and also I mean Mark Williams anytime you mention Mark Williams you need to mention how young he is so you’re getting like the youngest center from this draft class and the young like the youngest center already in the NBA i’m not sure about that why would you need both those guys how do you guys feel i mean honestly with Phoenix right now I just I have a just no fear of them you know it really does feel like they’re just a has been team that’s going to Yeah right also Mark Williams come on man i don’t I I’m going to go back to my original take i just don’t think there’s a great plan i don’t think they have a great plan in Phoenix uh well he was for a brief period in time discussed as the Jokic stopper i saw that because of uh his offensive rebounding numbers in a game where Joic dropped a monster triple double and Denver and Denver well saw something that was like something there mark Williams we’ll see if he passes the physical shout out to the legend Mark Williams uh another trade that we can discuss really quickly Chris Porzingis also part of the Celtics tearown uh he goes to the Atlanta Hawks along with a second round pick the Celtics received George Niang and a second round pick and the Brooklyn Nets received Terrence Man and the 22nd pick in this year’s draft uh that was one of the trades that happened this is getting under the second apron you know Porzingis value as low as it could have been out after that that that tough playoffs and whatever he was dealing with between the two moves I believe on the final bill as of right now New Celtics ownership saved roughly $300 million i’m actually serious i know i know you are roughly $300 million so that’s what that move was about jeez man wow it’s quite the yard sale prices here quite the yard sale prices so maybe they don’t need to do anything from there but I also assume teams have been and will be calling about Derek White as well might as well kick the tires give him the fire cell i would kick those tires yeah uh another trade that just came in the upcoming pick Trailblazers are on the clock they select Cedric Coward and trade him to the Memphis Grizzlies okay so we have a little trade here cedric Coward being drafted by the Blazers but traded to the Memphis Grizzlies let’s talk about Coward crazy the stat I had on Coward was I’d seen he had he shot 71% true shooting he’s 6’5 and a/4 without shoes 213 lbs has an 8’10 standing reach 7’2 wingspan so this is a guy who comes into the draft process enters the transfer portal and was going to transfer from Washington State to Duke that was going to be his big move and then the NBA got so hot on his trail he had to stay in the draft then all of a sudden Duke’s not happening anymore and he’s the 11th overall pick he’s going to Memphis that’s such a Memphisy pick like he’s a like he’s wellbuilt athletic um but like there’s also a reason he wasn’t exactly a star in college basketball and was merely entering the transfer portal and not really thinking he’d stick to the draft you know kind of a funky player as well and one of those guys where it’s you just don’t know if the things that make him occasionally special in college translate to the NBA they very well might uh they very well might 66 with a 7 foot2 wingspan and 71% true shooting i mean there I’m intrigued oh for sure and I mean the shooting is the quality that everyone says like that actually is legit he’s and he’s great at the rim he’s good at the rim gets himself to the line like he’s a physical guy and then yeah the shooting versatility as Dre was talking about i mean he again I I believe the college numbers are hard to look at because of the injuries right that he had but the the measurables the skill set tantalizing right the kind of stuff that excites you as a scout and could be a real impact player at the next level classic like you know draft heads and college hoops fans are going to have completely opposite perceptions of this guy you know yeah kale I just sent you the Suns’s graphic our PHNX Sunses graphic i just because the picture they chose tells me everything I need like how they must feel about the uh oh my god about the pig it’s kind of funny right they they uh they they got a good pick of Mark Williams looking very confused our poor PHX sons guys you know what it was it’s bad we launched PHX right after they had swept Denver they went too hard in the paint basketball gods were watching do you agree could not agree more they went a little too hard in the paint at us like we we birthed them they came out the womb just firing the hubris was crazy oh you guys all should have timed up your most h like your hubris with the year your team actually won the title like we did exactly that’s how you HBI came in gungho to do like what the Warriors had done under a new CBA that doesn’t allow for it um I’m going to take a step to the side here real quick folks you’re going to take the wheel i’m going to take a little dinner break here little dinner little dinner break we got more tradition is that all right okay it’ll make the most recent one we’re officially on Don’t let X drop to the thunder because that’s really going to suck watch okay let’s take a look at that big board thank you Kale so at least Yeah so Cedric obviously is off that list so Derek Queen maybe best available yeah uh couple of options here casperis Yakun yakonis yakuchunis yeah he’s the uh Lithuanian Eigor Denim really uh in many ways the oversized point guard great vision but it’s like can this guy shoot enough for us to actually not hate this pick in two years he’s a fun one right and we’re getting closer to some of the names we’ve talked about early in the show nate Clifford shout out Colorado State chase Richardson another one of my guys can we bring back CT Fazio Kale is he with us is he available let’s talk to Let’s talk to another Jersey guy some strong jersey vibes tonight on this draft your guys draft this today for sure also you know we need more Hoopers from the Northeast like uh that used to be a talking point we’ve lost the New York point guard the New York Hooper is no longer a thing so this is like Jersey point guard close enough y close enough all right Jersey cedric Coward here is off the board before I ask you bigger picture questions do you have any big picture thoughts on Cedric Coward as an NBA player yeah so on my personal board with Coward I had him around 20 so a bit lower than the consensus um you know he started at division 3 then transferred his way to Washington State um he only played six games this year in total um he was out the rest of the year due to injury uh he averaged 1774 uh two and a half stocks a game uh you know his numbers during that time was pretty good 57 38 90 um splits uh you know 65 with a 72 wingspan um I think the Grizzlies gave up a lot of capital to get him they give him a future first round pick and then I think two seconds as well um I think it’s a bit of a reach at that selection to really go for it you know we kind of saw what uh the Nuggets have done in recent years you know trading a future first for an immediate first now um and I think you know that’s the plan was you know trade high you know get high in the lottery select your guy um so I think the thinking is sound but um I think I would have went with another guy like a Derek Queen or somebody else in that range who I think would have returned a bit more uh more upside at that pick taking a step back now looking at the guys who have and have not been drafted uh two-parter for you first is there a huge surprise to you yet is there something that’s just to you is a reach a mistake a great draft pick in terms of value just anything that’s really surprised you so far about 90 minutes into the night yeah I think the Eigor the Jagor uh Demond pick uh for the Nets I think that was a pretty big reach had Demond toward the late first on my board um I think with him you know if you look at the the competition level that he played against top 50 competition his numbers severely dropped off uh compared to you know other games that he played in um he’s more of a pass first versus first point guard rather than a scorer which I think if you’re taking someone that high in the class you you want to bank on someone who has more scoring output uh to put more pressure on the rim right i think it’s a bit of an overdraft there uh I pick seven but I would agree i think that’s a good developmental spot i agreed man especially because they we know they have other picks so barring big trades it just sort of felt like maybe he would have been there available later in the night what about best left on your draft board now as you know some of the bigger names are taken and I think this is now where more of the nuances and differences of opinions start to creep in is there anyone left here that that your surprise is available that you think must be taken yeah I think Derek Queen you know one of the better one of the better advantage creators in the class um a guy who’s has a really good face up game you know as a big um can really pass the ball as well didn’t shoot the ball great from three but he has a lot more skills you know was able to finish in the paint um could use him as a hub offensively as well pretty good passer um and again I think you know when you’re picking that high in the class you want a guy who’s more of a an advantage creator um you know can use as a hub on offense uh and I I think you know moving forward I think he’s going to be a value pick for everyone gets him you know going past pick 11 here i I would have picked He was number three on my board so I would have picked him definitely way higher up the board yeah definitely one of your guys for sure wow you said number three yep yeah yeah that’s number three he’s slightly census one two well that that was the thinking right that he maybe could go as high as seven Derek Queen but maybe could drop if you were to power rank who are the guys we would hate the most to see drop to OKC here in like five picks who’s uh is Derek Queen number one there and who who fills out that list derek Queen definitely number one um just a a typical Thunder pick you know guys that undervalue you know slips in the draft and they’re able to you know develop him and able to use him in a um you know positive way next to Shay and all the other guys that they have on the roster um I think Walter Clayton another guy if you were to go to OKC I think off the bench you know I think the Thunder had a bit of bit of issues on their bench you know at certain times in the playoffs we saw in the Nugget series in particular you know some of their bench guys weren’t um you know able to contribute like we saw in the regular season and you know adding another score off the bench you know you saw where where Shay was off the court they couldn’t really score as well um you know JDub was pretty good in that role being like the number one guy off you know uh anchoring their bench but I do think having a guy like Walter Clayton who’s you know like we discussed before great advantage creator another guy who’s a pull-up shooter to anchor their bench i think Queen or Clayton uh for OKC would be picks that uh would definitely upset a a lot of people oh no doubt be cra I mean it’d be crazy if they pulled that off talk to us about uh Malo going to the Suns you had him ranked seventh overall to Duke Center tell the people kind of what what kind of prospect is he what’s his realistic upside and then what do you make of him in Phoenix specifically yeah I think with with uh that trade is definitely very interesting uh they traded two first round picks for Mark Williams who famously uh you know was traded to the Lakers but then you know they reneged on that on that trade due to the physical it’s it’s kind of an odd fit because with Williams and and Malawatch you’re you’re spending capital to take you know Malawatch that high and then you trade for another starting caliber center seems to be kind of inhibiting that development but Malawatch is a really interesting story you know it was in the NBA academy at 14 years old you know the youngest player to ever be in the the NBA academy um and that was his first time playing basketball so he really has an interesting you know backstory he’s got a 98 standing reach which is pretty insane lob threat with a great catch radius you know elite defensively in a variety of different schemes um and he had 6.8 block percentage which is pretty outrageous as well so I think defensively is going to be his calling card uh rebounding definitely a concern you know as you saw in that later game against Houston in the the Final Four right um he had some issues there rebounding against more physical players but I do think him being more confined to a role as a lob threat and a really good defender going to the pick and roll as a drop pick I I like that pick a lot for Phoenix i I just think the fit there with with Williams is a bit of a uh redundant pick and and trade for sure ct it seems like a new archetype in the modern drafts somewhere in there there’s like a 610 toolsy forward could be really good might be a bust and this time is it going to Chicago noah Asenu have Am I saying that even close to right a senu um you’re right there Brandon oh wow no a sen a sen all right I’ll take it what can you what can you tell me about about what kind of player this may or may not be at the next level as the Chicago project of mid continues so interesting enough with Sang Sangu he was uh he played against Portland last year in the preseason uh during the 24 uh 25 season um scored 20 and8 versus Portland um so it’s pretty interesting stat there who was able to contribute against NBA comp really dynamic athlete in transition you know a guy who’s able to get from one end of the floor to the other in in a really quick pace uh I’d say he’s a very undeveloped and raw you know player at this at this juncture especially offensively um but I do think he could fill a role you know as a guy who’s um you know a pick and roll kind of finisher uh has a a bit of ability to handle the ball you know in spurts as well um 69 uh wing i think he could probably have a good calling card as a defender immediately you know as a guy who can you know um really play at the point of attack uh guard other wings on the perimeter as well i I think the defense is probably more ahead of the offense at this point but uh I had a Sangu at 11 on my board so okay kind of right in that range of of where he was taken um I think it’s a really good upside play by the Bulls is a Sangu French for Patrick Williams is that what I’m hearing hopefully yeah that’s that’s interesting to see what they do with Williams now with bringing another wing into Well we got a trade here is that what you were Well we have a trade yeah before we let you go I would let you figure we’d let you talk about your guy one more time because backto-back updates the Atlanta Hawks are trading this 13th pick here in the draft to New Orleans for the number 23 pick and an unprotected uh 2026 first round pick long story short the Hawks will dra the the Hawks will draft for the Pelicans at 13 and we’re hearing from Sham CT that it will be Derek Queen picked at 13 by Atlanta traded to the New Orleans Pelicans what do you think about the fit or not fit for your guy the landing spot New Orleans i I think the the Queen and and Jeremiah Fierce combination is going to be pretty pretty lethal down the road um you know I think with with Fears you know he’s a guy who uh will really benefit playing off another passer as well um instead of just him you know assuming all the usage there um but Queen is a guy who you know like I said before I have him a three on my board i think probably the Pelicans are the winner early winners of this draft in my opinion you know taking two guys I had him in my top five um but Queen is a guy do it all forward um the shooting’s definitely a question mark at this point but uh really dynamic with the ball as far as a guy who can grab and go uh for a guy that size um he he had a sombo shuffle this year which uh I know Adam was probably probably happy about seeing that um Oh yeah but he’s a guy like he’s a guy who’s an advantage creator really good face up game dynamic passer for a guy his size as well and I really like the fit between Fierce and Queen especially if Fierce if uh Queen shoots if Queen shoots I think he’s a really really big bet uh to return top five value in this class do you worry about the fit with Zion and also I mean New Orleans is one of my favorite cities is he Are we not throwing another overweight young man yeah some beignes and just changing his life for the worst that’s right yeah I think the spacing there is definitely a bit of a concern cuz Fears I mean uh Queen is not really a floor spacer at the moment um but I do like his mid-range game uh he’s shown a good ability to shoot you know from the free throw line as well um I think with him like he’s got more avenues to have success than just the shooting translating uh but I do think that is a concern with Zion not being able to shoot and Queen kind of you know needing to figure that out so wouldn’t surprise me if we see Zion on the move within the next year or so yeah all right CT i got one one more for CT actually where do you think Don Holmes would have gone if he was in this year’s draft interesting question i think I put you on the spot i should have prepped you no i don’t know i I think Holmes probably in this class probably goes within the top I would probably say where he went this last class probably around the 20-ish range probably a little further up the board uh I would say um last class was pretty pretty bad throughout as far as the the depth um but I do think with Holmes having another year under his belt at Dayton I think he probably would have uh you know improved his stock uh a bit more as far as being like an all-American type player um kind of sharpening more of his his skills there but I’d probably say within the same range um this class is a bit more actually honestly the depth in this class is not is kind of overhyped in totality so honestly maybe a little bit further up the board where’d he go around 20 around 23 right 23ish around there that same to get him at 23 so in that like maybe this year the Sorber aceal range i think that’s right probably around the top 20 okay probably top 20 i would say he’d go a little higher than than last year’s class i would say for sure all right so hopefully maybe we you know as Nuggets fans you can look a little bit as there is a younger player coming through the pipeline even if there’s no draft pick here tonight or at least so far ct it’s hard to say who’s cheating off your work more so far us or the New Orleans Pelicans either way we’ll be coming back to you for more insight we appreciate you brother stand by thanks guys nice work yeah so it is interesting new Orleans to me them taking these two players it’s reset completely i think they’re done with everything they’ve done right it does seem like they have and honestly here’s the nice thing about today’s NBA i think in year era’s past the Pelicans would be up a creek you know like they didn’t work out from era they’ve invested all of it but now with how much turnover there is it wouldn’t be that hard to hit the reset button you have Herb Jones you have Trey Murf that guys those guys would get you a lot of draft capital to reset now around these two young guys and depending on what happens with Zion I still think Zion’s like an incredible like second team kind of get him around good vets and try to save his career life but I mean he’s obviously just an insanely dominant force of nature basketball player so um you know they’re already hitting the reset a little bit if they do pivot in the coming week or two I actually think they and they might have a nice foundation in place yeah fair this we did talk about pre-draft there was that DMV connection with their front office and him being there and rumor was that they saw him as a top five player so clearly they saw him drop to 13 and they were like enough already we got to take care of business right him and fear is an interesting combo but I’d be distraught as a Pelicans fan well you know who it is it’s Troy Weaver by the way oh do we have something else there’s the update on the trade details there oh the trade details right there you guys can see everything that’s going on pelicans got 13 hawks got 23 and an unprotected uh pick next year in 2026 isn’t that crazy it’s Troy Weaver by the way so yeah a couple of DMV guys um from And by the way you know who else uh he picked up this is so classic he is the guy that scooped up uh uh what’s that bones no from Denver gosh how can I not think of his name right now aaron Gordon ended up replacing him eventually why can I think of who who is it up how could I not think of JG Grant Jeremy Grant initials to help me out uh he’s the guy who screwed up so anyway so Troy Weaver he has some DMV connections there uh which is kind of interesting gosh next year’s unprotected so that trade from Atlanta is is just not you’re just not liking what you’re seeing that you’re not as sold as queen and when you hear I can take another flyer next year as well and on the flip side that’s just how badly the Pelicans liked him like you just said they had him clearly rated really high right didn’t want to let him slide but I mean that’s a that’s a Calvin Booth this is my guy and I’ll burn capital to go get him he always loved that i mean you could also call a Tim Conley you sure could he also called his number with uh uh Rob Dillingham too yeah and the connection a lot of You’re right maybe it’s just a GM thing to do i don’t know i could be over I could be reducing it so I I’m not going to lie these trades so far have been a little uh you know a little underwhelming okay kind of expected a little bit more and now we’re past the part of these big these big picks we’re almost out of the lottery now i mean I’m fascinated to see what the Thunder will do at 15 i think the rubber is kind of meeting the road as far as if you if you don’t at a certain point accumulate these assets and turn them into something you’re going to get to a point where you’re having yard sale prices because you’ve got all these assets and you have to sell them off to just save roster spots so what they do at 15 is going to be fascinating what the Spurs do at 14 is going to be fascinating too yeah by the way Bobby Marx has just updated the previous trade where Charlotte is actually acquiring Vasa Mechic as part of the broader trade uh which one which trade was this was well this was the pick one the Pix one and Mark Williams so Vasa back to Charlotte briefly gets out of Charlotte for all of what less than a calendar year and you can go back if you’d like so he goes to Oklahoma almost Oklahoma City for three uh for 30 games they had a million guards you know so he goes to Charlotte then over to Phoenix back to Charlotte you know this is there are some European players who are like hot stuff in Europe and maybe under better circumstances could have been hot stuff in the NBA and then you just wind up getting bounced around the worst organizations also Vasa Vasa never really impressed me that much when we watched Team Serbia i got to be honest i mean I know he did win an MVP you’re right uh I know I know he has had a lot of se success internationally but it was funny he never really popped to me as the guy like man I wish the Nuggets had him um back to Charlotte which is I’m just going to say probably not his top landing spot in the NBA i assume he’s going back to Europe new Orleans giving up a ton of New Orleans man these teams are so impatient and you know they just make they just shoot from the hip so much because as much as it’s like okay they’re hitting the reset you look at some of the assets that they gave up for it i think the Pelicans and the Hornets might this might be true too there’s some teams I just think will never be good even if you like these prospects it’s like okay but you gave up a pick for next year yeah and you’re just perpetually stuck in this spot of just like oh let’s let’s buy into another young guy like it’s may maybe maybe New Orleans is thinking they’re going to restock this this treasure trove of assets with incoming moves that we’re all the rest of the league is hopeful they will make cuz they they have a couple of roster envy guys for sure herb Jones Trey Murphy of course at the top of the list maybe the Pelicans are expecting to restock the cupboard with future moves but it’s pretty aggressive for the new front office uh to just go and get these guys and burn some capital to do it um by the way another promo here you guys if you are a DNVR dieard which you can become at a discounted rate if you sign up today $39.99 uh you do get access to our full draft guide which was assembled by Will Gotley my homie over at CHDO as well as Derek Bodner over at PHLY those two guys did a great job they’re draft guys they did a great job of assembling this it’s very easy to read it’s got all these kind of details uh so that’s another perk you get and you can kind of follow along as you read about all these guys we have another pick though did you already go over the San Antonio pick while down san Antonio has taken Carter Bryant with their second pick in this draft number 14 pick reminiscent of the Cedric Coward mode we are buying a future stock here a guy who was at Arizona as a freshman and was coming off the bench you know they were a good team more veteran laden and he was kind of their star freshman coming off the bench giving them some energy defense has some nice size people think he’s maybe more of a four than a three uh so that’s an interesting fit with San Antonio who right now we talked about for the first half of the show they’ve got those three lead guards they add a little more to the front court wing department with a guy who does the right things doesn’t need the ball in his hand could provide some uh spot up shooting and some defense for you so 3 and D yeah exactly 3 and D archetype yeah maybe a guy who depending on what mock drafts you look at he’s going a touch later here than he could have but yeah archetypical uh 3 and D guy here so we know there’s there’s room for that in the league our comp here Will Gotibly has Tammani Kamara you like that comp i wouldn’t love it if I was the Spurs i guess I’ll say that uh and now Oklahoma City is on the clock which allows us to do something we have we’re way late on doing which is our own haters ball yes can we do a little haters ball here oklahoma City won 68 games 68 that’s really impressive as dominant they have this great point differential they are the champions i salute him you win you deserve it nobody can take that away from you but f these guys man two seven game series and you know Tommy Habberro had the great thing about Astros this or that i’m going to say it man nuggets decimated by injuries in that series indiana decimated in the most gruesome way possible oklahoma City they will get better from here there’s no doubt they’re the smartest team in the NBA i hate to say it they are a smart team they are not scared of them i I don’t think I think I what what’s scary about OC are their paths to possibly getting even better right so they’re the team that could come out next year look flat we don’t have that championship spark guess what name a top seven player or whatever he’s on our team now or something like that they’re not unbeatable man uh they were regular season juggernauts undoubtedly they’re going to be a regular season jungler down there and they will be again and with the like that is an all-time defense I believe that like especially in the regular season the regular season numbers tell you it’s one of the most do one of the more dominant maybe not very most but more dominant teams we’ve ever seen the playoff run did not the playoff run did not show me a team that’s head and shoulders better than everyone they were better than everyone they went and they got it and they won the series that were in front of them i think that’s a beatable team and I I think teams in the West and teams in the East should both come back licking their chops and say “I don’t have to pencil either of you in next year i’m going to go and get your spot.” The C the halfcourt offense showed its limitations right like I thought I mean the Nuggets were this close to beating them by just implementing a zone you know like that’s and I mean the the Pacers really kind of uh prove that as well now they’ve got some really important decisions coming up with JDub and Shet and uh we shall see uh they kind of need a Hardenstein replacement in a year or so because that’ll be shortlived here’s my real haters ball though for them i feel like the NBA is really pushing the Thunder as the next team like they really want them to be the face of the league team they’re all these commercials they’re doing all this stuff what a boring team man what a boring team did you see their locker room celebration yes and I did i think it was a boring do you remember Jeff T tell telling the story about the night the Bucks won he was like it was boring i went and played Madden or something like I that’s what it looked like Oklahoma City did like they were they were like I think Chili’s is still open yeah everyone is talking about okay parody cool but the finalshere feels less dramatic it all feels more anticlimactic apparently to the players as well who approach that like there was another series on the other side of it but and we all love Yoke for his nonchalant so like we’re kind of speaking out of both of our mouth but that’s one guy he was crying up there one night he also jumped into the pool he was crying you know he was crushing beers too uh stayed on parade someone was accusing us of being mad nerds correct we’re very upset we’re not as cool as whoever that guy in the comment section we are not as that cool no I I don’t I didn’t like watching them play i just didn’t the whole way and I still don’t it just was it was weird man i will say that it was a weird and some of this was the Hallebertton injury i will say this Hallebertton went down in the most gruesome way possible it was like it honestly was the most memorable thing of that series let alone the game the series was the way he ended but the end of that game was the most I actually thought this of LeBron’s first title with Miami in 2012 cuz they won by so much that the end it just was like Oh I see my bad the the peak was like way too early and then it came down you know and it was the same for that one where like the final buzzer it felt like the most like Yeah high five right and the and the you know All right well listen I’ll I’ll go mild on this one cuz you don’t like it so much uh not that impressed by the parade either for the best fans the parade was this I just saw Palemo who’s in the second division of Italian football their new coach was announced they had a better crowd than the championship uh parade that the Thunder I’m not going to hate on Oklahoma City it’s a small town it’s not a small look i was like you were you were saying that parade was like 14 blocks yes that’s the city that’s the city that’s my point that’s the entire city it is the entire city can I just say the the branding of the jerseys are not championship worthy like figure out your [ __ ] man they’re like something I would have built on 2K i have more haters ball there but we do have a pick in for the Oklahoma City Thunder oh boy and they have taken Kale’s cousin Thomas Sorbber thomas oh wait i’m sorry sorber i thought my bad Kale i thought it was I thought it was Sorbos sorber thomas Sorbet if you Thomas Sorber I don’t know anything about him but I guarantee he’s phenomenal samy took him yep a bit of a meat and potatoes big kind of the kind of guy draft in the in the ‘9s and 2000s went to an old school blueb blood program like Georgetown which fits the mold as well athletic well-built broad shoulders runs well up and down the court plays good defense sound not the most exciting offensively honestly I think they kind of went safe it’s your uh it’s your long-term Hardenstein replacement he’s that kind of meat and potato center you know who can probably overqualified to give you 20 minutes on a solid rotation in the future um I thought Beering Jay the the French center had a little more upside to him i’m I I honestly I thought they might have gone Casper Jackavicious who’s their exact type of guy though they already have our uh what is it nicolola Topic the Serbian Yeah lotto pick from last year right so they go with more of a simpler pick we’ll see if they hold on to this again I think it’s kind of crazy to hold on to they have two first rounders tonight you hold on to 15 and 24 at a certain point when are you going to put your chips in the middle of the table and make a move right i mean short of roster spots eventually so here maybe but here’s my thing i here’s what I think is Sam Prey being as smart as he is i think that the traditionally yes you would cash all the stuff in and just get a juggernaut and I think it’s hard to have a juggernaut in the NBA these days and I think that they’re looking at this of how do we keep this window open for 10 years and they’re are trying to do the two timelines approach they just are more set up to be able to do it cuz they have a million picks and they’re high picks so I think that’s I mean more or less where this is although do we have a trade in our midst here that does look to be the case or at least Oh no this trade already happened I I think right cuz this is the Oh yeah this is the one from earlier this is the one from earlier yep it’s uh Memphis moved up to 11 or whatever to get Cedric Coward so whoever moved out of that pick is now on the This is the Blazers pick now right that’s right the Blazers took Coward at 11 traded him into the Grizz so the Blazers will pick here at 16 or technically the Grizz will pick and then trade to Blazers maybe Jona Baring the French center or Jakavicious are the kind of guys they go after here i I was just going to ask cuz he’s a Georgetown guy who’s the Who’s the last Georgetown guy that really popped in the NBA jeff Green still do it jeff Green otto Porter was a was a higher pick he was good for a minute he was good for a minute otto Porter is probably the one then that’s about it greg Monroe but now Hibbert yeah Hibbert’s there yeah you go back far enough you get Monroe and Hibbert and Jeff Green but yeah I mean yeah I mean they’ve fallen off man it’s not Greg georgetown for sure shout out Greg Wington that’s your dad’s Georgetown indeed i’m trying to look it up here at the most recent ones and you are right man it’s not that many guys not that many guys i Wow these are northeast but you guys in the league right now are Jeff Green and Matt McClung kind of no one’s locked in on Georgetown and Ruters like our guy college basketball programs on the East Coast like the New York area new I mean Jersey obviously you’re seeing Ruters well there’s the recent St john’s Resurgence which is huge which is like massive cuz like the city actually having one is different there was a time when Syracuse was a big deal but I think everyone’s over both Beahheim and the zone would you consider Yukon like New England yukon is Yukon if you’re Yes of course Yukon would be one uh yeah I think that’s the way that And then yeah I think those are the programs I would think of off the top of my head um cuz I don’t know if we even count the Maryland and stuff of the world is that different like when I always talk about the east coast are you thinking Maryland obviously they’re east coast but I do like you in a certain area i think north south personally um all right so back to the haters ball here the other thing and this is actually not OKC’s fault the hat that you throw on that says champions is so iconic the hat they had this year did you see it it looked like it was terrible it looked like it was the knockoff like oh did nobody get the official hat you know what it looked like like you bought it from a Lo’s gas station which is their sponsor on their jerseys which no judgment but like I lived in Gunnison Colorado shout out Ghani and Lo’s was the only place open 24 hours so on a late Saturday a little snack uh you know get into some vices that’s where all the drunk people were at might get into some fights at Loves and it is so OKC man what a ring endorsement for for Western yeah you guys can hang out at LOS it’s great got a great education guys i I would love it if when the dust settles everyone goes I remember that kind of boring OKC title that they barely celebrated and they only got one and that’d be it and that’s it yeah that although to be honest it was the best finals we had in a long time but still it was a good finals they ended up absolute absolute tragedy i’ll tell you what I thought though watching Hallebertton in that finals was “Thank God that didn’t happen to AG dude.” Of course because that was my fear whole next season when you’re that late and you it just shows this NBA man i’m telling you this NBA Oklahoma City somehow is ahead of the curve on all of this and this is why they might turn into to dynasty i was skeptical about Boston you know I thought that they might get two or this or that but I just didn’t it didn’t feel Oklahoma City to me is like they might be the one team every other team feels like they’re just going to constantly be like this and I I do think we have to keep it in mind when we analyze Denver not letting them off the hook i think they made major mistakes over the last two years that shorten their window or or at least put them on this roller coaster that we hope has another bounce up but I do think every team is going to be looking at this and it’s like man we can’t keep anything together for more than a couple of years 100% and look the Thunder probably won’t either but that’s what they have are more than one path to Audible to reset it to improve they just have the most flexibility of each of the last three champs by far uh even though they did not have nearly the dominant run that the other ones did they they this is a core that they can retool several different ways if they need to regardless of who demands what kind of contract so they are set up for it and they’re so stupid young they’re so stupid young but man but they did look beatable they did look beatable did I love this harrison Wind has this tweet from the Nuggets account talking about we got to flea fleece uh Dumars for Troy Murphy or Herb Jones because giving up at an unprotected 2026 first round pick when you’re not good is is kind of crazy man it’s crazy work unprotected it’s crazy work yeah it’s nuts why would you do that because to move up 10 spots to 13 i mean you really think Derek Queen is like look he’s a top three pick we have him ranked where CT does on his board plays the same position as your best player well that he’s the exact same prototype i mean it’s weird obviously not the free athlete that Zion is but Wow your eyes lit up for a second vote i was worried we had Portland took uh No way young Hansen yeah wow wait what portland this is a crazy bet hit they’re taking Hans they’re taking Wow they’re taking the young Chinese 16 good thing they traded jeez wow man that’s incredible klingan Cling Kong and uh Yang now he he was a projected second rounder was he not or like he climbed up plus I got him at plus value to be a firstrounder let alone top 16 right right plus value in the first round at all crazy top 16 man wow man so we got another Jokic in the division whoa well this is always a fun thing to see is Is this the one I keep getting because of the the way ESPN is doing this is this the one that goes to Minnesota this is the one that goes to Portland that’s what I thought this is the one that goes to Portland wow oh man let’s see where where the centers have landed thus far first center of the off the board Mala goes to Phoenix come in soon uh 13 Derek Queen goes to the Pelicans not quite a center but sure thomas Sorber goes to OKC and now Hansen Yang goes to Portland so all the centers all out west and I don’t think many people expected four centers to go in the top 16 picks well definitely not this one so let definitely not this one this isn’t one you could negotiate well listen I look at Here we go with uh Oh yeah here we go legend um wow man this is uh really interest it’s been a while since we’ve had a Chinese player it’s actually really kind of a big deal man yeah a while right kind of a big deal to get a Chinese player in the NBA it is funny man i I don’t These highlights are just so hard to really read yeah you know what I mean like because he is doing some of the stuff that is like should be impressive but Oh yeah look at that one that’s saucy right there a little one-hander i mean all kinds of factors though too for some I mean he’s adjustment from like whatever the competition just was to to this in terms of physicality and then also for any young foreign player how’s your English cuz it’s a team sport how well do you communicate uh is the organization prepared to hire people to sort of help you feel comfortable and not not just of course speaking the language but assimilating like it’s it’s a lot for a young American high school player to move across the country to be drafted uh this is a 20-year-old I believe might be a lot for a Jersey kid to go all the way to Portland man so this is going to be an this is an investment Portland is making here in in Young Hansen um now I will say if if you are traveling back to Asia being on the West Coast helps a lot helps a lot yeah let me read you this although Portland hard to get out of ESPN has the scouting report they’ve got the strengths they’ve got the weaknesses but as people who’ve seen the light who Nicola Jokic has literally whose lives Yokic has saved this was a fun one to read highly skilled operating in the post and out of the pick and roll yanks excellent hands touch and passing give him serious intrigue on the offensive end of the floor so I mean that’s the thing all the questions are defensive but that’s the profile offensively 7-1 he’s 250 lbs and he’s got really nice hands really nice touch good IQ like the Jokic comp would be silly but could he be ed you know sure sure but the real odd one is the fit with Klingan like I think Klingan’s kind of your franchise i was going to say more more evidence in the folder that teams are willing to beef up in terms of size right now is maybe not enough to just have one true big on the roster even on the four at the same time depending on who’s playing but yeah him and Cllingon those are two monsters man just straight up monsters in the paint port Portland is again how good they are that’s but they are among the most intriguing kind of teams with the tectonic shifts going on they’re going to be an interesting team to watch this is one of the more surprising picks i’m trying to think of some of the more recent ones that one was really high man that was a really really high pick uh Minnesota on the board and allegedly the pick is in yeah I could see Nate Clifford here i don’t know if there’s any more DMV guys left for Tim to take here yeah i wonder who Well who’s the n Who’s the that boy not Walter Clayton oh no he’s just like Jamal Murray like Tim just takes Walter Clayton rob Dillingham you’re out of here yeah exactly i guess Liam McNeely oh there’s the Jonah Bar the French center so there you go boys another center i told you we should have done a fresh meat segment fresh meat where we analyze all the centers coming out west cuz we’re experts you know we got to know how’s Yolk going to cook this guy tonight and he got a lot of fresh meat added to Didn’t play basketball until 2021 not bad huh that’s 4 years ago that’s right that’s pretty recent yeah kale has more experience podcast uh producing than he does uh playing basketball he won a Slovenian national championship yep all right yeah he was playing in Euro Cup i actually I thought he was a really nice center ran the floor really well um good defensive upside i I think this guy more so than Sorber certainly than Yang was kind of the the upside center I would have gambled on good defensive range good defense really good shot blocker like he’s young i think this guy might have a chance to pop a bit more he was playing over there in Slovenia so he already has experience moving from France to Slovenia he was playing some Euro Cup this year as well so that’s that’s huge and he’s got that defense he’s got that finishing on offense is this the new Rudy Gobear well Rudy Gobear depending on on what reports you’re buying was maybe part of the Kevin Durant trade framework that’s one of the reported how about this guys 18 years old born in 2006 which makes me want to throw up in my mouth just a little that’s when I graduated college human beings were born in 2006 that’s messed up yeah yeah that’s messed up i don’t like that whatso whatsoever 73 Winks man super young super young 611 the new Go Bear all right the new Go Bear for I’m not going to lie not a super Tim pick doesn’t seem like the most Tim pick out he’s still thinking about Jokic though you know what he’s still like he knows the assignment you know what i would be too is there any chance that he sent John Wallace over as a spy as a spy he did laugh awfully hard when I mentioned that Minnesota had owned Denver maybe a little too hard a little too hard he thought that was a little too He enjoyed it too much i I mean listen I’m sure Tim’s contract he makes enough for both him and John Wallace to pay him enough to go spy you know he’s like “Whatever they’ll pay I’ll match it i’ll match it i’ll match it dude you can double your salary just let me know just tell me what we’re doing we’ll make it work it is interesting that the a guy in the Nuggets front office the guy in the Nuggets front office knows exactly what Minnesota was thinking this draft i wonder how that works like does Tim try to throw him off in the final days i know you know well given that Denver was never going to get involved in this draft whatsoever it may not have been a factor tim’s like “Oh I don’t even care you can give him a draft board i don’t care.” Does them not announcing the new GM till the week of the draft give you is that is a part of the calculus is a part of the calculus yes and we’re just trying to get all that intel uh all right where do we stand with things draft um we had a run on centers here very interesting and the and the and the the the Francis continues here in the NBA oh dude ton of young French players i want to take a look at the draft so far we just got that from Yaya all right let’s do it draft so far thank you guys just as a little refresher man two centers back to back yeah you’re right man both in the West everybody’s gearing up for Jokic all in the West okay the Thunder one in the West’s reaction was What about Jokic though he looked pretty he looked pretty good uh there we go man more than halfway through this more than halfway through this first round and we do have the big surprise of the first round crazyland reaching for Hansen there man that’s crazy i’m kind of excited to see him play though i think I’m a fan i mean as far as immediate impact on the on the Western picture it’s pretty much just Cooper Flag who if if if the Mavericks want to continue this game plan of tons of size athleticism and defense and we’ll just be bigger than everyone i mean they don’t have to deviate to fold Cooper flag into that maybe even there’s a trade or two up their sleeve to make room for him but they’re going to continue to look very big very athletic and uh and ready to contend with just about anyone in the front court at least defensively taking a look at the big board here some of at the on our big board here at All City Casperis Yakunis Yakunz and Carter and Carter Bryant he did that jace Richardson and Nick and we’re in Nique Clifford territory guys very interested to see where the CSU star goes and of course Colorado Springs kid yeah of course so this would be backto-back first rounds we’ve had a Colorado kid drafted Adam i doubt that’s ever happened before that program’s had a nice couple of years it has for sure and I mean connect last year and then I mean actually yeah all the Colorado guys going in the top 35 the three guys so yeah i mean honestly it’s uh we never think of our state as a hoop state but not not doing too shabby these last two drafts pretty sweet i mean honestly I think it’s really cool enigo Medvine has been doing at CSU as a program that’s been fun to watch recruiting well generating some prospects and maybe more of them will look at that as a program that can get them to the NBA if they show up and play well so for sure and Alli Faruk Manesh after Nico left to Minnesota has done a great job on recruiting and keeping up the slack and I know they’re both there with Nick at the at the draft today so hopefully he hears his name go really soon and it’s crazy that all these picks were Western Conference picks like we did so many so few i’m telling you it’s it’s insane it’s absolutely ridiculous if we look at the West I think Portland good but they’re still a little bit ways away the Drew Holiday trade makes me annoyed but I’m they’re not a threat well and could be the next but that’s like you know that they’re their team down the line uh Phoenix to me is the big story so far as pertains to Denver and just that I’m like man I don’t know man i don’t know mark William I I always thought Mark Williams was was pretty over like when the Lakers got him it was like I don’t know man i mean the Suns roster is pretty much exclusively shooting guards and centers right now like almost entirely shooting guards and centers so I don’t even know if it’s worth formulating an opinion yet on that team because in theory there are more trades to make right you certainly don’t look at Booker and Green as natural fits no um like that’s a that’s a very long jammed roster so whatever they are or aren’t I think it’s a un unfinished picture well and it’s just a group of like established vets and then I I mean Mark Williams and Malik are are teenagers basically like I don’t think either of them can order a beer legally at the DMV bar so yeah they’re just they’re doing the separate timelines as well but not they’re not intending to i don’t think I think that would imply that they had a plan again I’m doubling down on them not having one new Orleans being terrible as well you know another they were already out but I just losing faith in them i don’t know what other what other pieces I really feel hang on how about this how about you want to know which organization has suddenly turned into the that boy is nicer watcher in the NBA the Utah Jazz who actually have this pick because the Wizards are trading it are going to add to Ace Bailey walter Clayton Jr according to Shiz Utah going that boy is nice walter Clayton and Ace Bailey after moving up in a trade here with Washington man so they got Jamal Murray yeah that’s right that’s right 6-2 Jamal Murray wait hold on we got Chinese Jokic now we have American Murray it really is the T-U draft uh draft chat pointing out Keonte George all of a sudden Utah full of that boy nice guys which is just seems a bit of a of an interesting direction time to pick up the phone call Utah call New Orleans see what’s up star football player in high school as well oh okay i’m all in canadian really all in canadian Jamal Murray could never he really could never i didn’t even know what this is this this guy you know how many stud prospects and stuff come through and then the tournament comes and they just don’t perform well and all the draft guys tell you well it’s really hard it’s one game it’s really hard to just show the whole way walter Clay was the guy who just no give me the ball give me the shot i’m going to hit it every single time i don’t know what kind of team right on the best team i don’t know what kind of NBA prospect it makes him but it made him the most fun watching the tournament he was on your board he was on my board he was on my board was he on yours he wasn’t he was on board he loves him and he went to Utah like come on man catch us a break should we bring CT back up here we got We got a little break here let’s sanity has happened since we last spoke to CT he’s got to break let’s bring Let’s bring him on man is he waiting in the wings back there let me get the right graphics up okay walter Clayton Jr damn yeah a hooper a hooper for sure i like how they all have to wait there though but nobody can say it’s that’s another team that I feel like eh do they have a plan utah they’re kind of just like throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks all right well CT our boy goes right next door to Utah what happened you mute yourself you mute yourself sorry there we go there you go hey now you hide yourself i’m trying to fix the camera here like center of the shot nope nope amazing it’s the other way on the studio thing i had this happen too what What do you think man walter Clayton Jr and uh Chinese Jokic in division yeah the Yang pick is definitely an interesting one um he had a really good combine a couple scrimmages um which I think improved his draft stock um you know he played overseas in China in this in the CBA um probably a late riser in the process uh pretty impressive movement uh for a guy his size at 72 um he’s pretty uh I would say audacious as a guy who’s you know willing to try uh different things offensively you know getting up a lot of threes um you know able to really pass the ball as well for a guy his size but I think that is a bit of a reach of a pick especially having Klingan and Aiden on your roster i I think that’s that’s interesting um as far as the selection in Portland goes but uh Clayton in Utah is an interesting pick because they have a lot of guards there you know they have Sexton Clarkson uh Keonte George which I mean if they’re picking Clayton now I think they they’re probably out on Keonte George I would imagine at this point so um Ace and and Clayton are the the hoopers of the uh of the Jazz which is a pretty interesting draft for them but yeah Clayton is a guy you know I think you know we’ve talked about him a lot um one of four players with uh over 250 three-point attempts uh and you know shooting over 36 uh% from threes so really impressive uh profile for him this year you know winning a national championship there so I think that’s a great pick uh for the Jazz do you like what the Jazz are doing i mean do you see that vision yet i feel like this is the off season where their vision should start to come into shape do you see it at all uh it’s not really at the moment it’s kind of either like they have guys who are you know established like a Lowry or Clarkson and Ston or um they have a lot of young guys as well you know they have Kante George uh they just Clayton you know Ace Bailey is a guy who needs development um seems like a is kind of angling for more of the rebuild i would assume you know I I heard you know just on the timeline that they wanted to kind of speed up that process but seems like now that they’re they’re kind of extending it a bit with uh you know adding more draft picks to to the mix it’s crazy how much he looks like Jamal though even the hair he kind of even the face shape he looks like Jamal Murray a lot including in his game uh what do you make of everything else that’s going on you know since you last topped on i mean this is where things have kind of gotten a little more chaotic yeah for sure it seems like we’re back in the you know the the Big Ben era with all of these bigs going across the board you know Hans uh Thomas Zorber is a guy who I was able to watch a lot you know at Georgetown being you know within within the Tri-State um 76 wingspan uh guy who’s pretty smart um as far as you know able to navigate on the floor um you know decent playmaker for a guy his size uh I think the offense is a bit behind the defense at the moment uh not the best athlete but I do think is a typical kind of Thunder pick you know guy who’s you know pretty capable as a passer as a big man um developing offensive game but a guy with a a pretty high defensive ceiling yeah so sticking with their mold of like more complete maybe not a dribble pass shoot guy but somewhat along those lines as a solid defender even though not a plus um plus athlete which is interesting defensive stats interesting defensive stats 2.6 steal percentage 21.9 defensive rebound percentage and uh when he was on the floor team shot 48.3% at the rim against him which was second in the conference so he’s uh got a pretty intriguing defensive profile for a freshman dang uh what do you think of Baron Jay going to Minnesota i mean another Western team just loading up on length and centers up top he I found him fascinating watching some of the stuff he was doing uh last season in Euro Cup and over there uh in Slovenia what was your read on him yeah Behringer is a guy who’s definitely a very raw prospect you know he just started playing in in 2021 um so he’s got a lot of in inexperience on his side uh funny enough he played on uh Ysef Nerk’s old European team in in in the Euro League so interesting connection there um I think he’s going going to struggle with physicality at the offset you know a guy who’s pretty thin uh as a big definitely a long-term project but um has shown flashes you know of of some good movement skills uh decent athlete um and improving offensive game but a lot of uh defensive capabilities rather than offense at the moment and an interesting pick for for Connelly because you would think that he’d pick more of a uh I would say established player but we saw in Denver when you know Joic was kind of on his upswing he took RJ Hampton and and Zeke in that draft uh in uh 2021 so back-to-back drafts he goes with Dillingham and Behringer two young players to add to the mix so maybe he either uses both as as a trade ship eventually or kind of makes them develop and and kind of develops into a rotation piece down the line what do you make of what San Antonio did tonight especially with their second pick with Carter Bryant like what what are you seeing from them now yeah I think with the Spurs you know Harper was uh you know my number two prospect on the board i think a lot of you know people had him in the top two it was a pretty safe bet there um I really like the Harper pick i I don’t I don’t know longterm how that’s going to fit with Fox um Harper’s profile I think is really impressive you know 37% on catch and shoot uh threes 57 attempts 65.3% at the rim uh good for 1.31 points per possession on 170 attempts so really impressive uh ability to get to the paint um I like Carter Bryant as well i think that’s a really safe pick um even though he’s a freshman I just think he has a safe floor um as a guy who’s a 3 and D forward um good cutter really good athlete probably a guy who can put on a variety of different wings defensively and he can hold his own so I I think those two picks uh complement the roster um you know around Webby moving forward you need guys who are going to able to you know provide a skill set i I think Bryant’s a guy who could uh you know fill a role as a defender but Harper’s the guy next to WBY I think it’s going to be a really dynamic one-two punch uh you know in the back court and now we have Brooklyn’s up their second of four picks here uh and let’s see who they’re going to take this is the Pwat Sarich trade uh pick we hypothesized at the beginning of this right right right right this was the one we could have got and CT would have taken Walter Clayton who went one pick ahead so you you were on it CT instead it’s Nolan Tri as the Renaissance continues this was one of the like the big five coming into this season who we thought was going to be a blue chip prospect and he actually goes the other direction ct he drops a ton all the way to 19 what’s uh tell the people about Nolan Tra cuz I found him fascinating actually one of my guys definitely yeah definitely an impressive uh impressive guard you know 6’3 played overseas um I think he’s going to help uh especially playing next to Yemen uh Demen um two guards in the back court you know two creators um had a bit of a I’d say a slippage you know as the season went on in his production um he was hyped up to go more I’d say you know higher in the first round but he slides to 19 but um I kind of like the long-term fit uh there he’s you know able to navigate a bit in the pick and roll um you know decent pull-up shooter as well uh a bit on the undersized side but I I do kind of like the offensive makeup there uh I think kind of him and and Demond’s a bit of an intriguing combination you know in the back court you have one guy is a bit more undersized and Demond’s a bit taller of a guard big guard more pass first and I think Trayor is a guy who uh is a bit more score first so a bit of the adverse there wonder if he could be the French Jaylen Suggs that kind of guy maybe i don’t know how do you like him i mean I like the fact that as a teenager he was like one of the best teenagers in the world and scoring like absurd amount of points and he seemed really explosive to me and like he’s a good passer and has a high IQ and seemed like this year as a pro he just had a really slow start to the start of his season so you know everyone’s like watching him like they are Cooper Flag like they are Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey expecting him to be like one of these franchise players and he actually underperformed significantly so everyone’s like out of him but then second half of the season he actually played quite well so he’s I kind of think like we maybe course corrected too quick on this kid who like sometimes it just takes a second to adjust to a new experience right uh I think I think we sometimes overindex in like oh this transition period to start this new phase was terrible especially on shooting I feel because it’s not I mean the numbers can swing on a hot or cold streak too so I don’t know I think his beginning of the year for sure was uh kind of led to this slip you know his his stats across the board were really really poor all right CT good stuff man we’ll check on in with you again here in about five picks sounds CT um my favorite part of any draft is when they cut to uh Kale you can take him off the Oh there you go there you go uh my favorite part is when they cut to the draft room and everybody’s Yes exactly what we wanted this is perfect i I would love I want to see the draft room that’s really really bummed out it’s just like oh my god this guy is out of his mind like how Jeremiah Fears was when he got that the Pelicans took him and he was like “Are you freaking kidding me?” Who did you see is it the guy who went to the Raptors i saw a clip apparently stood up buttoned up his jacket and went “Fuck.” No way colin Murray boy yeah I saw that clip he’s thinking of those Canadian taxes he just the taxes i got to go through customs every single time that’s exactly right that’s brutal who wants that it’s It’s such a crazy You’re like “All right it’s NBA draft night could be is the biggest night of my life i’ve worked so hard to get here i mean you literally don’t know where you’re going to be living it’s so true and it could be another country it’s another country kind of but yes technically Murray Bulls and Hansen Yang different countries for those guys where’s Where’s the team that if you got drafted there you would fbomb it’s Utah utah’s right here though it’s pretty it’s beautiful i don’t know man i Salt Lake gives me very weird vibes when I’ve been there like not in a good way you know there’s no Gunnison they’re not yeah that’s right that’s right yeah the belligerentness that was allowed at Love’s Late Night would not be allowed worse for you boston worst place to go no if you got drafted you’d just be like “Dang it.” Yeah yeah yeah boston for sure there’s no way this is true boston is a cool city to be a professional athlete you’re the best you don’t think you would turn and just like lean into it just be like “You know what publicly for my stock at draft night I would hit up my New York sports group chat and say what he just said in all caps it’s all missed the obvious one which is inland hot as hell and humid it’s Orlando where Orlando orlando oh Orlando no way bro no way or first of all no state Orlando real estate’s super cheap you’re going to own like an entire you know your rookie contract these are not no not no Florida but yeah Florida oh the weather’s going to be perfect all season long been to Orlando it’s like terrible 6 months out of the year yeah not the Not but guess what not the 6 months when Orlando is playing basketball i feel like the one place I really not because of just because of the organization like if it was Charlotte I’d be like “Come on man really come on i feel like getting drafted to Charlotte would feel like getting drafted to the G-League a little bit.” Yeah it’s so true i was hoping to make the NBA i wouldn’t horn it that’s true for me it’s the really hot ones or like Houston I think would be tough for those reasons the humidity I don’t necessarily love I haven’t had fun when I’ve been in that city or it would be the freezing cold ones i do think those ones would be tough minnesota cool city cool fan base but I don’t know if I can hack it milwaukee might be kind of tough cool fans oklahoma would be rough but you’d be winning so that’d be different i mean Sacramento’s maybe the obvious one we haven’t mentioned sacramento sounds legitimately pretty rough it’s got good weather I guess utah utah no way utah I think is cool oklahoma and Indiana as places but they were just in the finals so can’t be that upset i do i think Toronto I really want to go to Toronto i hear it’s cool but I do think it would suck to play there yes I think it would be a bummer to be there and you have to travel back and forth maybe it’s a very international city that might be It’s a really cool city yeah for sure apparently though uh not cool enough they get very insecure if you bring up Indiana major US big market Indiana for Pascal Seakum so sensitive about the five Raptors fans the 20th pick is in for the Miami Heat i’ll let you take it Dre yep this is our Lithuanian who came to us through the Ali he goes to Miami a little uh he culture for him um Casper look in more general lines very Eigor Denim so really you get Igor at eight you get Casper at 20 arguably Casper is the value pick of the two a Russian and a Lithuanian that’s right but an an oversized uh point guard really nice instincts really nice passing and the shooting numbers and efficiency numbers were a little shaky as a freshman in college and that’s like Eigore what’s throwing people off but you know I mean the pedigree like Eigor this is a kid who was in the topmies at Barcelona as a very young kid comes states side and goes uh 20th overall to Miami not not a bad landing spot for him he said his favorite two his two favorite players are Luca and SGA and I kind of feel like the combo of those might mean he’s going to be a terrible watch you know he kind of is a terrible one problem there you go he’s also part of this new wave because the NIL money is so good this new wave of these European players that forgo pro basketball to go to BYU Illinois these places that are paying a lot of money it’s kind of sneaky great it’s I’m saying for the player like where it’s like oh yeah I can just go make more money as an amateur and I mean as a guy who’s trying to make it into pro hoops it’s so much better to be the star at Illinois than it is to be you know the ninth guy off the bench at Barcelona right it’s a good point that’s not super valuable and you only play like solid minutes once a month and that kind of thing so yeah soft spot in my heart for uh Illinois cuz that old team that old was the third guide no no no no who what what was his name crap how did we forget the third wheel of that he was fun he was the He was like the dopest the most hoopery of them all look it up very Will Bartney it’s going to kill us once we remember guys we just have uh nine picks to go and Nick Clifford CSU star still on the board oh I thought he was selected no no no no utah is that what we Utah the pick would be traded to from Washington because they just took Walter Clayton at 18 so this pick belongs to Washington although Utah will make it here technically and I wonder if Nick Clif if we’re getting near Nick Clifford hours here fellas two and a half hours into the night oh man I hope he’s not the guy that falls me too me too that’d be a bummer that’d be a huge bummer i mean look he’s a he’s a doit all wing you know maybe he’s not great at anything at the next level but he I could see him as a guy that that fills out a rotation and has some utility for sure thousand% i mean I think he’d be like just what the doctor ordered for the Nugget second unit you know like a guy like that would go so far did we miss the trade here i’m trying to trying to see no it was it was the Washington trade okay it was the Washington trade um so yes Washington picked Clayton and sent it to Utah utah will pick here and send it to Washington but I’m saying uh this will be Washington’s second selection okay yeah that’s what the Lithuanian went to Miami that’s where exactly he culture guys you know who has a mustwatch summer league team now is Utah with Ace Bailey and Waller Jr we kept wondering cuz summer league this year starts on a Thursday usually it’s Friday they’re moving it earlier now and it’s almost certainly going to be the Cooper flag game who’s he going to play against i think they’ll probably do Dylan Harper i would imagine you would think it would you would do it like that yeah san Antonio would make a lot of sense because they’re stacked with young talent too wby flies in they should send to Summer League one more time he wasn’t very good the first time they should send him one more time that’s the best about Summer League when you think back to even WBY had a rough first game it was like he sucks he’s going to be a bust yeah well that actually was the take from that game too our new pick is in already huh castle won’t play I’d imagine right yeah it’ll just be the Harper are you excited at all about uh Are you excited at all about Deron Holmes in summer league yeah I’m really excited i mean Darren Holmes like we’re seeing all these other Western teams add more bigs he’s the big we’d be adding supposedly and I’m counting on him a lot now i need to temper my expectations because I think coming off an Achilles injury is no joke right like that’s that that’s the one thing I’d say yeah like I think I I’ll take what I can get year one and I’m more hoping for year two which is really year three you know i mean he’s not just coming back he’s coming back probably to the gym where it happened to him i mean it’s a good point i’m not going to freak out if Holmes has a terrible summer league i’m honestly not but at the same time it’s you know Tenzar was kind of urged a little bit of caution when asked about Deron Holmes you know he’s going to play should be available that’s exciting we’re not putting too much pressure on him and I think that’s reasonable because this is like when we were excited when Blackco was making his return with Slovenia everybody was like “Oh my god he looks terrible.” Like he’s never played so rusty uh so yeah I mean I wouldn’t blame him if he did but I’m excited to see him play i’m telling you I’m so impressed with him though man he just such a a very like well-mannered mature young guy and like I told this on the podcast the other day but at at the introductory press conference he came up and talked to all the media just unprovoked shook hands like “Hey guys how you guys doing?” You know what’s going on very excited for the summer and sat and chatted actually for a little bit and it’s just you don’t know how rare that is he’s a really really good kid so I think I think he is like a not to get ahead of ourselves he is like a uh I think the fans will like him you know what I mean you’ll root for him for sure so long as he doesn’t suck but I think you will root for him uh to be a guy so we’ll we’ll kind of see what happens there well that goes a long way yeah um by the way man team France obviously silver medal in the Olympics this last year they’re going to have 10 players first round draft picks from last year and this year it kind of really You’re joking but it really is now it’s a renaissance are they the which is crazy cuz it’s just the word renaissance which but but with friend but with friend yeah it’s just not Renaissance would actually work yeah just use the word the thing i didn’t mean to do that i mean do they have the undisputed number two basketball nation spot right now right they’ve got the silver they’ve got all these guys coming in don’t piss off our audience bad come on are you kidding me they just had a better seating and why do they have a better seating cuz that BS Olympics somehow they put the US in i didn’t I didn’t say in the pool same bracket i didn’t say team Serbia could not beat team France i never said that but I mean all these guys getting drafted as well so I just mean the international program in terms of the pipeline to the NBA i mean it is France right now that is the next wave 20 times the population what they’ve made happen with their league is uh really impressive the way they’re developing young talent is crazy impressive and I mean we’re they’re doing the same thing in soccer they’ve just found a way to identify find and develop talent that other countries just cannot match up with and it’s uh honestly should be studied like I wish Italy could tap into 10% well you guys miss out on on the colonization probably for sure you’d have to go back it was a long play all right the pick is in now for the Washington Wizards via the Utah Jazz and it is I can’t say Riley will Riley another Ali backto back Ali fighting Alii he’s uh he’s an interesting one not a guy that I really fell in love with studying but seems like a guy who really checks off a lot of boxes uh as far as the self-creation and toughness and has some good like driving to the rim and sounds like a kid who you know um the three-point shooting was good if that continues you might you might have something and this right really proved to be good value for you at uh at this also look at that grew from 5’9 to 66 during the pandemic i love that the framing of that cuz it’s kind of like the pandmic side of he grew he grew a foot cuz he got co he took the fourth vaccine yeah and all of a sudden next thing you know I mean it’s just his age when in high school during his late te it’s actually no one saw him once he he just did a growth spurt when people are supposed to hit growth spurts yeah but he did it in closed door behind closed doors no one saw him oh that was incredible uneventful first round but I think that now that we’re in the spot here where you don’t expect these pieces to be part of any crazy trade not a lot of fireworks yeah not a lot of fire will Riley does that sound It’s hard to imagine a player named Will Riley being a super good NBA player that’s true it’s true i don’t know so that’s just a tough spot to be in forget the scouting report his name’s Will Riley i don’t know i will say this does feel like Nate Clifford’s dropping into OKC’s lap at 24 what about a Billy Riley billy Riley i think Billy would be Billy Riley is a Billy right there yeah I could see that that’s like an old Trailblazer or something portland Trails Blazer okay shout out to Red Hawk for presenting the show shout them out i do wonder if there’s some trade options here okc’s got their second pick new Orleans again on the clock i can’t imagine they do oh no New Orleans already it’s Atlanta atlanta though has two picks in the next four selections this is Brooklyn’s pick actually so it’s it’s Atlanta’s pick picking but I believe that this is going to go to Brooklyn i think you have OKC has one more pick Phoenix has one more pick Brooklyn has two and Atlanta has two in these remaining eight that’s crazy so I mean this would be a great time to trade into the back of the first if you wanted to Clifford or something yeah some of the guys that have been mentioned on our lists uh still available of course Clifford uh Richardson as well Cal Brener which I know CT was a fan of and I mean his selling point is that he’s 72 and can move a little bit so and stretch it a little bit i think he’s like a threetime Big East defensive player of the year he can he can be a monster i mean he’s he if again if you don’t he was the super tall guy that’s been on Kraton for a bit you’ve probably seen him play actually you have for sure seen him yeah so he stands out on account of how big he is danny Wolf I thought would go way higher than You thought so i did he was around 30 wolf territory here yeah we might be in wolf territory wolf territory jace Richards on the board still um Maxim Renault is another interesting center very like uh the the second version of Robin Lopez we saw in the NBA um like a a stretch big who played at at Stanford actually another French guy but he went to he went to play college and my guy Liam McNeely as well i’m I’m shocked he’s still here a lot of people liked Asa Newell the uh the defensive athlete big from Georgia he’s arguably best best left argue for sure there’s I mean there’s some decent talent still on the board as you’d expect of course but you know one one trend that’s held through given the trades that did or did not happen tonight so far as close as it was to back-to-back Eastern Conference teams winning the finals the West gets deeper and I don’t know what the East looks like guys boston that’s a gap year right maybe they they have a great plan for 2 three years from now not next year indiana it’s not fair it’s really not fair at all they’re screwed right i mean that’s really late in the season for Hallebertton to suffer that injury so and plus they’ve got some contract stuff to figure out oh guys we’re live inside the war room right now it’s the Nets is this the only camera they are so pumped that they got their guy i think it’s just that we have a camera in Brooklyn and they keep going back to it yeah they’re just having such a blast in every other pick in this do you think they talk about this though like hey guys when the pick gets made we all have to We all have to Yeah there’s Jordy Fernandez who had a very great start as the head coach in Brooklyn maybe too good for a team that was trying to lose some games at one point so but yeah guys I mean the East the Knicks who are still trying to find their head coach they’re getting embarrassed during that search and so you just wonder who has next out east Detroit did Orlando do enough with that trade right and man guys how awesome would it be if the Denver Nuggets could just play in the Eastern Conference because I’d be picking them no kidding i’d be picking them everyone always wants to talk about lottery reform start by figuring out how can we even out the talent between East and West just get rid of a conference like this man the entire century is I mean this sincerely I’m worried about the Nugs i’m you know I’m very shaky this or that if they were in the Eastern Conference I’d be like they’re coming out of the East oh no doubt it’s Magic and the Knicks that they have to contend with it’s also why the whole like how many finals appearances LeBron had spare me there’s a lot there is there is a lot of that i do agree and I thought you could say the same about those I will say this the most impressive thing about LeBron doing the nine straight finals going late into the playoffs every team of the last 5 years has worn down the next year it was his conditioning through it all man uh his ability to and health somehow and at some point during those years they were international play he just kept playing he just kept playing basketball man we see our guy Nick Clifford is falling a little bit here fallen true and I’m free free falling and Chad’s a little upset Denver appears to be inactive i got to say while I’d like Denver to be active in the off season I don’t know if trading into the late first round man makes a ton of sense for them so I’m not mad at that it wasn’t the best use of the 2031 pick or flipping Piwa or anyone else right yeah the Pistons thank you there i agree pistons going to be good next year but yes I don’t Yeah um a draft pick like come on guys come on right you can’t fire Calvin Booth and just keep doing the exact he would have done you know right washington by the way traded down and got the guy they were targeting anyway so they at least you know what they’re saying right so that was the the Tim Conley right you know who you want we want him a little bit later so we’re going to pick up an asset if Washington renounces all the cap holds on their book after this year they would clear up $250 million in cap hold space and around $100 million in cap space wo so there’s a little bit of if you look at each of the the trades Washington’s made lately it’s like what are they doing why are they doing setting it up to just have a bunch of money come off the books and have a handful of young guys they like so just something to keep an eye on there as well the pick is in we saw Brooklyn’s front office celebrating what were they celebrating i can’t see that cuz I have a camera drake Powell drake Powell winning out of North Carolina all righty north Carolina and this pick goes to which is it brooklyn brooklyn gets this one yeah 3 and D athlete is that the uh Yeah that’s right uh very meat and potatoes pretty unsexy i don’t know how you would justify taking a guy like this before N Clifford i guess the age is how you justify it he’s 19 he’s still 19 years old right now um and he’s got that great athleticism right so you’re you’re gambling that in 3 years he can be even better than what Nick Clifford is right now at 23 years of age um I could see it and look also it’s it’s Brooklyn so you do need some picks are just this is almost a G-League stash pick right okay like we’ll see when this asset becomes a player in a couple years type 43 in vertical at the combine crazy 43 that’s actually crazy i I think that’s what mine was too when I measured it coming out of college 42 speed as well also yeah just kind of that super athlete type we do see this type fight fail a lot when they don’t have the skill yep it’s a concerning one this This is like the boomer type pro prospect I guess especially without a handle i feel like a lot of athleticism without a handle is what are you doing catching lobs yeah the that gamble on a guy who’s young and hasn’t hasn’t really shown you a path to oh I can at least do that like he’s not even Ryan Dunn last year you know at least coming out of Virginia it was like we know what a dudy he is on offense but we’re willing to take that defensive gamble he’s not even at that point remember when Ryan Dunn hit a bunch of threes for a month it was like the first month of his career we’re like is he a 50% three-pointer have the Suns finally done it in the draft no this should be as like Actually no they haven’t yeah that’s kind of funny actually here’s what we got so far guys thank you Kale taking a look at the draft and again some of the bigger surprises you can start with Ace Bailey if you want in so far as he did not want to go to Utah and Utah said “We don’t care we’re taking you we’ll see you at summer league we’ll see you at camp.” Uh you could argue that Demond going as high as he did for pick eight there to Brooklyn who’s had a lot of say in this draft a reach from New Orleans argue maybe not a reach but an overpay they wanted Derek Queen and they traded what could be a very valuable first next year to trade with Atlanta the big surprise Hansen going at pick 14 to Portland the young man from China still 19 going on 20 utah sticking with the That Boy Nice Watcher theme with Walter Clayton Jr and Nate Clifford still on the board so it went chalk to start a couple of surprises but not a lot of not a lot of big trades not a lot of ground shaking movement here to the NBA landscape big our big surprise of the day was that that Young is it Young or Yang you’re not wrong yeah that’s right that’s why I haven’t been saying I just have been leaving Hansen yep that’s what I’m saying he brought me for the draft expertise if you’re you’re looking for not the name more i I really I barely get watch their tape he hasn’t studied how to pronounce that’s exactly right dare I say the Hawks the winner of the night without making a single pick but getting that unconditional future first from the Pellies yeah maybe my favorite pick and Derek Queen who they trade out of to for that one of my guys so uh yeah DMV Joic still I I like the return Atlanta guy you know our our our draft analyst here CT Fazio maybe if you take what they paid to move up out of the out of the picture for a second the actual picks he likes both of them i mean he was way higher on both of those guys than Consensus so he might like the job that scouting department’s doing but a very uh confident move very sure of themselves move from the from the new front office in New Orleans and a move that tells me like we’re moving on from a lot of these guys yep and that’s right thank you Todd Houston a note on Phoenix who’s doing some weird stuff they’re doubling up on Duke Centers and then drafting another uh drafting a Duke center getting Mark Williams and then after having grabbed Richards last year again we don’t know what Phoenix is doing but they are doing stuff so good for them we do have another pick that is in right now this is Brooklyn uh Brooklyn Nets has been announced at least even though it hasn’t come up on the uh it’s the Atlanta Hawks I think taken next cuz they had what new Orleans correct this is the we just talked about this trade that’s right Kale so this is New Orleans picking and they’re trading to the Atlanta Hawks who sent them this pick uh in exchange for that 13th pick in that future firstrounder so New Orleans will draft they will trade that draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks there we go yeah and we see who the Hawks take after I gave him all that praise actually crazy enough think there’s a couple bigs who would be nice value for them and again that that 2026 firstrounder that the Hawks received it’s unprotected and the more favorable of New Orleans or Milwaukee I believe is the other one so yeah if New Orleans does decide to shake this thing up or or break this thing down I should say that could be a very very valuable draft pick they just gave up we will see what a hall you know another star of the draft so far uh initialed or or name plate necklaces like we’ve seen a lot of those i That’s the big I’m telling you the NIL era I think has ushered these in right uh usher Sure we’re going to see a lot of drafts in a lot of sports with some big name chains for sure oh my god that is too accurate you know what the the NIL era has also ushered in is guys getting pretty lucrative offers to stay in school and then what that’s also resulted in is guys sometimes underperform and then guys I was really excited about in 2024 all of a sudden are nice values in 2025 oh that’s interesting cam Jones from Marquette is an example of this he looked really good um and I I I really wanted him at the end of the first last year then he goes back to Marquette his shooting numbers are a little streaky as he’s being asked to do more on ball and stuff and Cam Jones is still around he’d be a guy I’d target to move up to in the second round um Hunter Salis is another guy out of Wake Forest a nice shooting uh wing guard shooting guard who I think could be really good value uh tomorrow as well and then there’s some undrafted guys I’m hoping like could drop like a Marcus Sears the the Bama point guard little twitched up ball handler twitched up uh oh finally from Georgia going to Atlanta asa Newell stays local he I mean really nice value i think him and Nick at this point are steals and it’s because of their athleticism it’s because of their defense it’s because of all the things they do well around new’s really only knock is the shooting but uh the finishing the floor running is really impressive and the the defensive versatility and it’s in a kid that’s still pretty young and uh has a lot of talent so you know you put him in a situation where he can be a nice little weapon taking passes from Trey Young and stuff and really compleiment them defensively atlanta’s one of those teams as well where seems like they’re maybe stuck in the middle here yep in terms of Yeah not really re relevant at all uhhuh not bad enough to bottom out yet unless they really committed to it so we’ll we’ll see what direction they’re headed in i hate to bring this up guys but we’re kind of in nightmare territory nick’s sitting here right for the Thunder i know oh no yeah I do think that he could be a Thunder pick i think it’d be a magic pick as well i could see the magic taking go to the Magic come on go to the Magic are you kidding me that would You’re You’re right you’re right Kell is that where we are right now yeah 24 can the Thunder really make two picks yeah how do they have unlimited roster spots how is this possible yeah I actually I want to check how many spots they actually have it’s crazy i mean it’s like when will this end you’re right Kale you just gave us anxiety we’re going to sit here and sweat this out damn man i mean and he’s so clearly the best guy right now i mean Danny Wolf is a little thundery you think so i don’t know i don’t know about that i don’t know about that double up on Digs after he’s took Sorber just Richardson for the Thunder to be honest with you poku has scarred them forever no their roster has to be full there’s so many players on this team that’s what I’m saying see Sam Prey might never run out of draft picks cuz he’ll keep drafting guys and then just selling off yep it’s a revolving shark’s teeth of players and it’s like “Oh we’ll give you way to do it.” Yeah we’ll give you Kase Wallace we need four first cool i mean that’s the thing move everybody up a chair how and how easy would any sort of consolidation trade be for them at this point i mean they’re you mean with all their awesome now championship tested players man they’re sitting in a nice spot a very nice spot if I was a Thunders fan I’d be checking the future picks we have yeah twice a day almost and you would be in heaven right now almost certainly asa New had a little bit of the Zeke Naji hairdo though out of college that’s not great not a great sign for Asa New not a great sign burn Thunder and Magic nick Clifford still on the board jace Richardson’s still on the board as well he was one of my guys he’s tiny but he can flat out shoot the rock man just silky smooth jumper and every kind of shot like he could do it off movement off the dribble catch and shoot just a straight up shot maker some fun if Nick does fall past here and he gets drafted by Orlando he would be playing with Tristan Dilva who took his spot at CU yeah oh that’s so that could be a fun little undercurrent of a story honestly if you ask me Liam McNeely as terrifying for either of those two teams like that kind of shooter and upside who was like a top 10 pink coming into the season if he panned out for them yikes um oh and chat pointing out actually I I believe that is is accurate that that 25 pick that the Magic have once belonged to the Denver Nuggets denver Nuggets Nick Clifford is going next and he’s going to he’s traded he’s being traded so the Thunder will make the pick they will select Nick Clifford per chance and send him to Sacramento that’s right the Sacramento Kings adding Nick Clifford trade with Oklahoma City sham’s being But what is the trade though you know what what is the trade we’re about to get a drum roll here we’re about to get a drum roll we should bring CT in before too long but I want to get the details of this trade here out before we bring him back in um wow good for Nick that’s awesome possibly be a future asset is this like a roll it down the if you’re going to bet on anybody to screw up and get their pick yeah future first yeah yeah oh man that’s a tough one yeah that’s great good for Clipper though hey Nate Clipper another first round draft pick for CSU and they keep the train rolling there man that program’s got something cooking yeah after a draft last year that saw Colorado native and Dalton Connect and then the three Buffs go in the top 35 we get another one colorado Springs own went to the Buffs transfers to Colorado State so he’s really uh he’s hit all the spots in our great state that’s right he sure has all right why don’t we bring uh CT back on is he uh waiting in the wings there for us Kale thank you Kale super producer Kale on the on the ones and twos asking a lot of the God I’m so glad he didn’t go to Oklahoma City that could have been that could have been a rough one yeah could have been look at that suit though what do we think here uh yeah who are we to judge i was going to say I had some thoughts but I’m Yeah you know yeah i I’ll say this i think that won’t look in 10 years that’ll be like what i think that’s you guys cut out a little bit if you could uh repeat that what do you think about Sacramento as a landing spot for uh for me i think it’s interesting depending on what they gave up i didn’t see the return yet on the trade um I had Clifford as a a lottery pick on my board on the top 14 um you know he’s right down the road from from you guys out there in in in Denver um you know guy who’s a bit older prospect at 23 but he’s just so productive for a guy his age you know averaged 19 10 and four um you know really solid point of attack defender uh this year was able to experiment a lot more with you know creating off the bounce you know having the basketball in his hands a bit more um I think it’s going going to really benefit him uh you know playing alongside a lot more advantage creators you know where he could kind of you know slide into a role as a cutter um you know a rebounder um underrated passer as well um for a guy so I think just he’s got the ability to scale um you know into a lineup to to give you whatever you need whether that’s point of attack defense whether that’s shooting um you know whether that’s rebounding i just think he’s a guy who’s going to provide um you know winning ability and I I think that’ll grade out to be you know someone who goes in the lottery you know in a reddraft i like him smart player almost Sacramento’s kind of weird sacramento is another one of those teams where we I really am curious what they try to do this this off season they’re one of the teams that I think obviously makes some big to be honest they need to they’re not going any direction they have some solit what about the other picks uh what stood out to you from the last five picks or I like the Adam I think the mic isn’t isn’t working i hear in the background a little bit on your guys end uh now it’s muted mic is off Adam now kale the audio is nuked we can barely hear Adam wait I think we’re back are we back are we back oh we’re back all right there we go excellent yeah well done who else uh stood out to you what other picks stood out to you over these last five or six or so yeah I like the uh the Ace and Newell pick um for Atlanta uh interesting uh forward you know has an ability to handle the ball a little bit kind of reminds me a bit of a uh a Nick Claxton funny enough that he actually went to Georgia too um you know back when he was in college but uh funny enough New played with Cooper Flag and Derek Queen at Montb High School um so he he played with those guys back in high school so really intriguing combination of players there one of the best offensive rebounders in the draft um guy who’s got graband go ability just think defensively he’s a really uh potent switch defender um can play multiple schemes guy who can can really uh capitalize as a guy in the short role um you know hitting floaters uh playing in that mid-range area with the the shots developing um but I think eventually he’ll be able to become a pretty decent you know three-point shooter i like the Drake Pal uh pick as well for the Nets um not really too flashy of a pick but you know 6’5 wing uh pretty good screener for for uh you know a guard um really good athlete as well but grades out as a guy who’s really potent in the mid-range and um I think the Nets are probably betting on some underrated creation upside as a guy you know who’s a freshman at Carolina and that situation was really a tough context for a lot of players um you know playing Carolina so I think you know him playing in a more scaleback role you know having a bit more spacing I think Powell look pretty good in that system all right so five five picks left here in the draft uh who would you take here if you if you if you were a a GM with any of these picks who’s the best player left on your board CT so the best player left on my board is Adaro um I I would pick the at this point in the draft uh I think he’s being severely underrated you know at this point it’s a guy who’s crazy athlete especially for a guy his size 66 67 um potent defender uh can can operate as a rim protector or a guy you could put on you know one of your better perimeter creators and have him slow him down uh offensively uh he’s a guy who teams are going to probably leave open you know immediately as a guy who’s not really that great of a shooter at the moment but he does compensate for that being able to attack you know off the bounce really quickly and use his physicality and his strength to kind of dislodge defenders so I think that’ll make up for some of the offensive deficiencies at the moment but I I would pick the arrow at this point in the draft i think he’s he’s being severely underrated you know at this point he’d be a value pick in the 20s and Jace Richardson is the latest pick wow out of Michigan State small guard obviously a father with some NBA experience and CT in my notes here I’ve got shooter underlined three times what can you tell us about Jace Richardson the undersized shooter going to the Orlando Magic i think this is a prototypical Magic pick as far as if they needed a guard um who could actually create off the bounce um and score a bit you know uh you know soft created looks so I think they they’re probably in the mix for Clayton or or Jace Richardson um they they were able to get Jace um because the Jazz traded a decent amount of assets to get Clayton um but Jace one of the most efficient guys in in the class um really good shooter uh came off the bench a bit sometimes at Michigan State you know started some games here and there but um I think a guy who’s going to really capitalize off of uh Paulo and France you know is a guy who can you know hit catch and shoot shots doesn’t really have to self create as much but I do think you can give him the ball a bit and he can he can operate off the bench you know as a scorer but um I think this is a great pick for them especially this late in the class because you know he was projected to go pretty high up you know in the in the beginning of the process right right value there right value I would think this late a little small but they could use the shooting and the the dust has settled on that trade CT in the end rj Hampton Gary Harris and Jace uh Richardson for Aaron Gordon i think that one worked out for Denver not to answer for you what do you really quickly while we have you what do you think about the direction the Magic are heading in obviously that East is arguably up for grabs they went and paid overpaid in a vacuum maybe for Desmond Bane but I know you like Bane i do too yeah is it enough to put them in the the Eastern Conference title conversation yeah crazy to see that the Iron Gordon trade became full circle now you know that with that pick you know RJ Zeke and Jace and I I think the Nuggets you know that was one of the better trades honestly to get a you know a difference maker to to help win a championship um you know great great shade in in in looking back on it but yeah I think the Magic are are building something pretty good um they had to kind of go away from their you know common practices of like having a bunch of defenders um you know Bane’s a decent defender but he’s more offensive slanted uh dynamic shooter was a guy I really wanted for Denver actually in that class you know the same class that they took RJ and and Zeke um but yeah I think them going a bit more offense comparatively to having a lot more defensive guys I think that’s a good step in the right direction and I said it before on the show I think the Nuggets should honestly look to kind of buck what they’ve been you know doing over the past you know couple of years you know try to target skill sets that aren’t really on the roster you know target guys who can you know self-re themselves and not just rely on Yokic Murray to help you know set up the offense and create um in that aspect so I like the direction the Magic are going and you look at the Eastern Conference I mean doesn’t even the West it’s nothing yeah it’s nothing i really think that the Magic have the Magic and Knicks I think probably are two of the teams that really will have a good chance at making the finals next year i agree it’s crazy man it’s absolutely crazy they do get Bane but though or they have Bane and now they add another shooter because when they made the Bane trade everybody’s like they need shooting and I’m like that’s one guy you know that’s one guy and they’re losing KCP which is like you know so to me you knew they were going to go with shooting whether it was more in free agency or or in the draft he is just he’s kind of small though yeah 6 foot 61 61 jay Richard’s a bit bit on the smaller side yeah uh six 6’1 um had some defensive concerns at Michigan State a bit but I do think you can kind of surround him with the infrastructure there in Orlando with you know France and Wendell Carter Junior Jaylen Suggs when he gets back right they have Yep they have size and athletes that you can kind of go a little bit more offense comparatively to having a lot of defenders that they’ve had and added in recent years do you think they are you an Anthony Black believer or do you think that’s a guy they should move off of uh now yeah I actually was an Anthony Black Believer in his class i had him I believe top seven in the class so I was pretty high on his game um I thought he’d be more of a you know a better all-around offensive player at this point but uh he showed flashes you know here and there obviously a pretty good really good defender um at a guy you know at his size uh pretty good passer as well but the offense has lagged behind a bit you know the shooting hasn’t really caught up yet um yeah I mean I I probably see what you can get out on the open market uh just you know you have Suggs there in the back court um maybe can add another veteran guy you know uh to add as a free agent but I would look to see what they have but I’m still a believer in Black you know being a pretty good uh you know return on value there in in the the lottery that’s my guy i love him but it is one of those things where when you get to year three you start to worry about the shooting you know you hope you see an arc up early on in a player’s career because after that you start to wonder maybe he just can’t do it he might not just be a shooter so some guys actually there are a lot of guys we go if they could just have a jump shot yeah incredible yeah i’m starting to worry about him uh all right any other thoughts here CT we’ll bring you out we got five more picks and we’ll bring you back obviously at the very end here to wrap up but any final thoughts on these previous picks yeah I think actually there’s a lot more guys moving forward who are would be value picks you know these last five picks that I have a first round grad on on my board um we’ve kind of mentioned before Cam Jones Cion James who played at Duke uh you know on the final four team next to flag uh Rosher Fleming a guy from St joe’s versatile forward um can play inside out a bit like I think he slid slid down the board uh a good amount at this point and um I think Hulk Runner as well would be a really good value pick at this point in the draft um so I think there’s options here for a lot of teams to to kind of add a potential rotation contributor yeah I’m interested to see what Brooklyn does and if they stay at these two picks or this is where a move happens and maybe it is a Kulk Brener or Cam Jones who I love Cam Jones how high would a Cam Jones gone last year’s draft had he stayed in i think he probably would have went top 20 around there i think he would have went top 20 in the class he shot the ball better last year right he had a bit bit of a slide this year uh as far as his three-point shooting was concerned but that was also due to the uptick in usage that he had for Marquette but um a guy I think will will really return first round value in this class and you’ll probably see next year on a playoff team he’ll he’ll be uh in the mix for rotation spot you know one of those typical guys who um you know outplays their value and is a contributor right away you know as an older player totally if I was to see the Nuggets move up into the second for anyone Cam Jones is that guy ct because the you just described right top 20 top 20 value a year ago and you could maybe get him in the top 35 now i just sign me up for that and he’s also the kind of shooter that that would really suit this team so great stuff as always thank you so much i think there’s a lot of options there’ll be a lot of options in the second round if the Nuggets were to entertain trading in i have a lot of guys on my first round board that haven’t gone yet uh I think the Nuggets would potentially be able to get you know maybe like a two-way guy or like an end of bench guy that they can add to the mix that would be pretty good right well we’ll ask you for those names here when we bring you back up to wrap up round one because that’s definitely the most likely always was the most likely thing for Denver ct good stuff only five more picks well we’ll have you back on in just a few thanks guys yep ready to close it out uh I love this Malu Maluak he says they was asked about how he got into playing basketball he says I just went to a camp and saw a lot of tall people who were very happy and I was like this is where I belong that’s the most innocent he’s like he saw the the he saw the herd running and he said I want to run too tall people and they all look happy what a legend i mean I don’t know a less happy I don’t know a less happy archetype of people than tall people who don’t play basketball that’s a tough one they’re not as happy they’re act Yeah sad boys telling my Ellie that all the time i’m like “You’re tall if you don’t play they’re going to need the you know.” All right the pick is in for the Brooklyn Nets their third pick of the draft and they take Ben Sarah yep uh so we got Eager Denon we got Casper Jackus i I’m not even trying i think you I think you made that one was a full You gave up completely i got to read it bonus uh and now we have Ben Sur same type right big 66 handler passer we love the IQ we love the ability to create off the pick and roll he was playing out in Europe against adults we love that too on the same team as Noah Sen no actually yes yes yeah I believe so i think it is um and the shooting do we believe in the shooting because it hasn’t looked so great if that comes along we might really have something if it doesn’t come along might have a bit of a bummer so that’s the uh that’s the equation you’re making with Ben i don’t want to interrupt you but we have another shot of the Brooklyn dude they are they pumped they’re still clapping they’re a little less pumped though this time around they got another pick to make i got to be honest I’m a little underwhelmed with Brooklyn’s night given that they came into the night with four picks and everyone’s like they’re trading that for sure for sure danny Wolf guys is the is our green room look sad he He looks so sad he genuinely looks sad bro don’t you cannot look that sad i know you kind of got to put a game face on here dude oh Puchto hey we appreciate everyone that’s been hanging out with us all night long in the Toyota chat we’ve been live for over 3 hours and the chat’s been lovely tonight do us a favor throw us a like if you’re enjoying the programs helped other Nuggets fans help other basketball fans find what we do and thank you for sticking with us here as we enjoy a long Wednesday night together jordy Fernandez just got himself three international guards really eigor nolan no boy now I’m really in my head about my pronunciation yeah nolan nolan Tore okay and now Ben Saraf wow mr international going international you don’t like it i don’t know that we needed three that all play the same position i love that this sounds xenophobic until you realize that Dre is actually Italian no he was born towards the international guys in fact yeah um but but what can I I I Nolan Tore one of my guys eigor one of my guys uh but still altogether I don’t know jord’s got some things to figure out yeah I think he’s I mean Jordy I think probably is about it though you know Jord’s about it so it might be the perfect room uh so Oh I can’t even watch bro you got to pick your head up i’m sorry you got to You got to pick your head up i I Hey Kale update my board danny Wolf is off my board will you update it take him off man i can’t do it i was not a dog and you only not a dog in you he does not have that dog in him he was mostly mocked between like 20 and 25 this isn’t like a crazy boy also I mean had he stayed in Michigan he’s almost certainly making upwards of 2 million i mean oh yeah you’re right actually we’re laughing but the drop off from first round to second round is actually substantial well and even the drop off from like he was projected to go in the top 20 to 27 i think that’s another million you know for the record I would also look sad but no I know but we don’t have the dog we’re podcasters we literally don’t have the dog in us that’s why I’m here and by the way Danny Wolf is going to Brooklyn how about that let’s go the wolf is Oh come on Danny he’s like you took that other guy before me well it didn’t matter it was the same yeah but you took him first you took him first know how sad I was maybe that’s why he was so sad as he knew maybe it was a happy sad maybe he got the call that Brooklyn’s taking you and then he saw the other he’s like “Wait I thought you were taking me.” And they were like “No have another.” Maybe that’s what happened he thought they lied holy cow the wolf of Brooklyn the wolf of uh can’t quite be the wolf of Austria the wolf of Brooklyn Heights so two of your guys two of my guys yeah hello i’m MC not bad uh and yet I hate it oh they’re so happy he does look like All City’s own Tim Ko a little bit he does look like Tim he has a little Tim Ko like Tim Ko shout out to Tim Ko getting the number one pick over there in DLLS those boys are happy hell yeah they had a pizza party before their draft show they’re posting online i was like man the enthusiasm over there it’s a little different remember slander for not having pull up that Drew Timmy chat there from uh from uh Greasie in the chat wolf can be nice in Brooklyn but they already have drew Timmy that was the first comp I made for Wolf on the night was drew Timmy all right we got it that’s right all right the Wolf i think we should still call him the Wolf of Wall Street close enough is it close enough yeah it’s close enough totally sure is it close enough the computer K’s just The computer’s just done we The computer’s struggling over there oh it’s been struggling for a half hour this This happens on draft night so he get a little overloaded with all the grab let’s watch my guy oh yes oh yes fundamental spin baseline spin two highlights in a row or the baseline spin where are we going here to the middle over the left shoulder this is This is really good that was a horrible highlight youtube is you giving playbyplay over a highlight package they can’t see that is true just wait what if instead of the wolf of Wall Street we call him the wolf of Ball Street of what of Ball Street cuz he plays basketball all right Kale kale thanks for chiming in kale kale we were having a great show kale you were crushing it kale I was just about to text you and say you’ve done such a good job it’s actually so bad it send me in hysterics Kale so congrats to you most hilarious thing that was said all night that was great oh the Nets really did take four swings in this draft all right they saw the East was wide open and they’re like “No thanks.” Wow mom is We want more of those she was like really crying they were really worried they were so worried oh they were struggling maybe they’re just an emotional family oh my favorite team the Boston Celtics are up and they’re ready to pick the Boston Celtics i wasn’t ready to root for the Celtics but now that they’re below the second apron I appreciate good business that’s what I appreciate right right so I’m a Celtics fan as a basketball fan what you really enjoy watching is the best of business that’s right sound business decisions is why you follow this league i mean that’s right we should all appro applaud Brad Stevens for his ability to get under the second apron for his owners who don’t want to pay the bill the Wolf of Flatbush good job Chad that’s way better say what you will but the Bulls GM could never do that you know yeah you just titles sure you just can’t pronounce Lithuanian names i think we’ve determined oh forget i I struggle with American Bulls GM you should hear me on our NFL draft i I called Zachary Carter Zakari Carter for a whole draft cycles zakari hey he has he has he has it in like a we have over here brendan vote oh that’s good he has like punctuation midname where was I i thought that’s just Zachary i didn’t know that brooklyn also yeah all passers yes all those guys are playmakers which I I’m telling you that’s the new NBA they they look like your guys and they were like “Oh we got less get three of these guys or the Wolf brothers crying so hard and he have cry i’m not sure about this i’m not sure enough earlier i’m not I don’t want to do toxic masculine me but it’s actually a lot of cry there are different types of cries that was an ugly cry it’s a lot of crying also we cryo yeah oh man oh Hugo Gonzalez hugo Gonzalez going to Boston somebody said Poky Pokesky walked so Danny Wolf could fall oh it’s so good oh my god that’s amazing 3 hours and 20 minutes into the show territory that is amazing so Hugo Gonzalez is the promising teen at Real Madrid who didn’t make the jump to the US to get NIL money and guess what he was buried on the bench uh when buried on the bench was inefficient and instead of going top 10 like Eigor or top 20 like Casper he goes 28th to Brendan votes number one worst city in America boy that that really Gonzalez top for Hugo Gonzalez i mean they have some great colleges but that’s not what he’s going there to do so it’s a great name Hugo Gonzalez it’s a great name actually a really good It’s a really great name so the the three lines that ESPN had on the broadcast were high motor passer rim protector you don’t usually see that combination of three that’s right sounds like a your guy honestly that does sound like my kind of guy here kind of tell me more so important note this next pick is actually Charlotte’s because of the Mark Williams trade thank you Kale all right Kale you’re back out of the doghouse come back to Kale come back up you’ve had a good night coming out one bad pun and you guys completely bail on me jack kind of left it too i was into handkerchief for Tanny Wolf’s brother come on dude it’s been five minutes still going for guys come on espn is getting so much air time out of the Wolf family crying this is crazy i can’t believe how happy they are or are they distraught baby we begged him not to go to the NBA are they be a doctor like your father we told them one more year of Michigan damn it not a lot of people know this that’s the only family there who had a family member get drafted tonight so that’s why no good for them i’m happy yeah good for them good for them that is a lot of crying though that’s a lot did I get Am I Did I get this right brooklyn made five first round picks tonight and they made all of them four but they did make all of them and they took some redundant guys too uh Carlos Romero boy who cried wolf not bad oh not bad oh that’s down not bad not bad it’s excellent it’s really good oh that’s a good one well done i like that one a lot should we start getting into super chats oh yeah we should read some super chats super chats two picks left on the night can we get super chats yeah we got a Let’s go to them get him now people trying that rainbow wheel of death is our friend tonight michael Porter Truther our guy chatting to reinforce CT and I are different people despite our shared love for MPJ Don Wright and zone defense in Denver uh Yaku equals Lonzo Queen equals Shangun emoji emoji be quiet everyone fent Jones thinks I got a little too bold when I called Matt Mishia incompetent that’s sarcasm uh that is sarcasm from Fen Jones pandas 58 as a Nets fan I’m just glad to be here go Nugs hell yeah hell yeah four picks this is like a great night we have a Net Star Nuggets Nets fan in the house tonight yes they’re the only team drafting yeah it’s like “Hey man get your money’s worth.” A mean chiming in nuggets need to target Jordan Hawkins oh the t-shirt wearing sharpshooter in New Orleans i I You know what he’s lit up Denver that one time this is what it always is man sure did dude i mean that’d be legendary i’d assume he’s cost a pretty petty i don’t know if he would man i don’t know oh yeah cuz he’s limited he’s very limited down a lot of guys uh he could really help the margins as I mean I don’t want to see tripled again he is a shooter dylan Cantor or Caner whatever happened to Ishmael Kamagate did he not want to come to the US or did the Nuggets punt on him nuggets punted well then he’s not good enough to make it to That’s why they punted yeah probably the biggest um they got excited we got excited that they got excited and we’re sorry we got so excited cuz Yeah yeah i was not on Kamagate everybody really yelled at me for pick it wasn’t on Kamagate the Nets did take five picks igor Demond Nolan Trey Drake Powell Ben Sarif and Danny Wolf five first round picks powell was there i thought that I would think one of them was a trade at least our graphic says they drafted Drake Powell oh yeah yeah yeah brooklyn has draft rights to 19 from Atlanta yeah okay so they All right that’s crazy well Brooklyn were the stars of the night with in terms of just airtime for sure oh no doubt the Wolf family I think got You’re right you’re right we saw like “Oh how’d you spend your night honey?” Like I saw the Brooklyn Nets war room celebrate five different picks uh very excitingly and then I saw three different generations of the Wolf family ball out uh how was your evening Con we’re definitely getting a comment too to this one about making fun of somebody for crying in their special moment no guys it was just funny to be honest it was just really funny is the the wise the prudent Phoenix Suns on the board for Charlotte oh for Charlotte mark Williams’s Ghost is uh making the selection how about Sham’s not spoiling the picks this year only half ESPN employee this year right he he spoiled some of them though it was a weird approach it was a scattered approach for then when Shams wasn’t working for ESPN when he would spoil him it would force WO to spoil him it’s why monopolies are bad we need a competitor here uh Blackburn who is at Ballerina tonight you know the media can show up there uh says there will be no presser tonight so only one pick left to go not the biggest mystery but um uh Ryan Blackburn if you see this and you were in fact the only person there all night please text me and let me know that i think the Nuggets buy pizza or something though you know if you go so yeah but if it’s just to go home they’re like “Hey man did you think that maybe you were going to I don’t know we give you a coupon to like illegal pizza or something but you can’t be here.” Like bro did you not read the vibe read the We didn’t even have a front office yeah we just hired these guys last night the pick is in for Charlotte again this is for Charlotte and they are selecting great booze from the bowl oh it’s a D guy liam Liam McNeely mcneely so Charlotte comes away with Trip McNeely coniple and Liam McNeely oh wow the two white shooters of the draft charlotte getting the two white shooters utah getting the That Boy is nice guys that’s right we don’t know anything anymore who’ you compare McNeely to again uh Jared the Jared McConnell in Yam you did just do the name thing bro you did just do the name thing mcneely that’s different this guy was a stud prospect out of high school right but it didn’t go his dad rocking a bucket hat yeah it was that’s a bold move for your dad yeah and I think this is the fourth guy from that mom verde high school team Cooper Flag was on to go in the first round imagine playing those guys in high school man thornton High cooper Flag Derek Queen Asa Newell Liam McNeely or is your starting five yeah that would have sucked yikes that would have been rough so So what again do you like about McNeely what is it that really sells you on him uh the shooting i believe in the shooting and him being an off the dribble shooter and being a good movement guy and like that really being a skill that he can build on i think you know like the efficiency wasn’t super great on a Yukon team that was probably counting on him too much to be like a creator and initiator on the offense yeah and he’s more of an offball movement guy um and I think when he gets back to that in the NBA now will Charlotte permit him to be that i don’t know but now you have a lot of spacing against around LaMelo but no center is LaMelo Ball watching the draft tonight i don’t know he loves ball i don’t know if he was walking watching pick 29 you know what I mean well I mean it was his team’s pick yeah but they he probably watched the fourth pick of the draft and then said I’ll find out on the internet all right um he’s like damn Mark got traded hope he passes his physical this we got one more pick and it’s going to come in here why don’t we go ahead and bring in CT Fazio one last time as we kind of wrap up the first round of honor move into the second round as well oh look they I beat the graphic there’s all the Mont Verde guy they brought that up i did either they didn’t need the graphic you’re natural come on all right CT it’s Things are wrapping up what do you think of these last couple picks yeah I’m surprised uh McNeely went this far in the draft dude um he was a guy ball creation it was kind of like miscast as like a primary um he’s a guy could play a bit of more of a tertiary role um but a guy at 68 who’s got that level of a handle um and passing chops is pretty impressive uh so I I really like that pick for for Charlotte um I think he was kind of you know miscast this year so it’s kind of hurt his stock a bit but uh I think he’s going to probably provide pretty good rotational value for the Hornets the Hornets going anywhere like how do you feel about them uh overall they’re they’re one of these teams like or like they’re rebuild and Orlando’s aren’t that far apart very different spots right now i actually like their draft um they got some players who are more I’d say uh you know ready to contribute right now um you know I had Khan Caniple at six on my board just think a guy who can plug and play you know good shooter able to capitalize off of LaMelo and um you know a couple of the other guards that they have there in Charlotte so I like that pick for them i like Mcneel as well i think getting a guy like that at pick 29 you can do a lot worse than that as a guy who was projected to go lottery in the beginning of the year but I mean the East is so bad that maybe they have a chance just to kind of sneak in at the the last uh playoff spot uh there in the playin or something but um not really sure that they have too promising of a of a long-term vision at the moment what about some of the other picks how are you feeling about them um I like the Gonzalez pick uh I think that was a pretty good pick for them um you know he’s kind of slid down the board a bit compared to the beginning of the year um but good to see him go toward the end of the of the the draft there um I’m surprised that Brooklyn actually selected all five guys um I thought they would use some of their picks to trade um they were rumored to really like uh you know Harper um at number two i thought they were going to trade you know a boatload of picks for him to get you know that one you know top prospect um I know they liked Ace Bailey at well as well um I I saw Shawn Marks at a lot of Nets not Nets games the Ruckers games this year um you know scouting scouting their guys so um surprised that they they selected all five guys uh I think they really reached on a lot of picks as well um I kind of think that they’re in the running to to tank for uh AJ Devonsa next year and and one of the Boozer brothers so I think they’re going to be in prime position to to to all out tank basically maybe they’ll start trading some veterans between those two guys by the way an early preview of next year’s draft cuz those are two big names do you have early scout on which of those two guys you think is better i think Boozer at the moment um the bounces is a guy I think who’s he’s probably has some buzz as of late to go number one i heard he dominated at that USA uh junior whatever it was uh workout i heard it was like by far the best one yeah no he’s he’s definitely in the running for the number one pick and I don’t want to rule it out right now that I would put him at number one um but I have Boozer right now at one just uh his ability and uh as a forward to be um you know dribble pass shoot guy uh you know a great athlete as well i I just think he’s going to be um a really dynamic number one option uh in the class next year so the Clippers are the last pick here they’re going to round it out the Nuggets have announced there’s no press conference so I don’t think there’s any more fireworks so now it moves to the second round and yeah you know just give us a early preview of the second round here you’ll be back with us tomorrow as we wrap up the second round so I do expect that there’ll be some Nuggets news whether it’s a pick or even undrafted players but what is just the second round that we know this wasn’t a very deep draft are there is there second round talent to be mined and even back half of the second round in your opinion definitely i have a lot of guys my first round who uh weren’t selected yet um I’d probably say around four or five at the moment uh Adutiero number one uh he’s a guy that I would I would immediately trade him for in the second round um I don’t know what it would take to get him uh but he’s a guy I think is gonna return easy first round value in this class so uh Caulkr Bunner as well i know we discussed him earlier in the show um Janai Broom a guy at Auburn uh actually kind of liked him for the Nuggets last year um before he decided to return back to Auburn um guy’s really versatile forward uh can dribble pass and shoot uh really good passer for a guy his size um he has like a over seven foot wingspan for for a guy at 69 um and uh I like Cam Jones as well i know we mentioned him before right um again I think there’s a lot of guys in the second round who are going to return first round value when you look back on this class another guy R.J lewis I think I sent him over um in the second round uh list that I that I sent over before a guy St john’s who was really big part of their you know revitalized program this year with the Big East um really dynamic perimeter defender um a guy who’s able to create a bit off the bounce good in the pick and roll as well so I think there’s a lot of value to be had in the second round and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a lot of guys get traded into the class do you when you those guys you just mentioned who you had first round grades for where would you rank them amongst Jaylen Picket Payton Watson Hunter Tyson even in terms of guys if they were on the roster where would they fall in the pecking order even let’s uh Trey Alexander we’ll throw him into the mix as well just for reference yeah I think I think Watson is the best guy out of that group for sure um I think Picket probably at number two uh although I do think there’s an argument probably for you know Cam Jones i think providing a different skill set than what Picket brings to the table which you know maybe that maybe that’s more valuable to Denver uh than what Pickicket brings but I was pretty impressed with you know Picket’s end of season you know before the playoffs i think he showed some uh you know some promise comparatively to what we saw in summer league i thought it was a pretty good bounce back um but yeah I think in the second round like a guy like Diero uh a guy like RJ Lewis Janiah Broom you know Fleming as well another guy in my first round Sion James another guy from Duke who I think would be a really uh great fit um if they were to trade into the second round you know getting a guy who could play on the ball uh really good defender as well uh pretty physical as a at a guy you know who’s 6’5 um I’ll probably go Payton pick it and then take your pick of any of the other second round guys you know in this class um that would lead you know some of the guys on the Nuggets roster at the moment gotcha you guys got anything any final things here as this first round wraps up well we’ve got our last center drafted out west all the centers in the first round all went to the Western Conference yannic Conan Neerhouser yes will be joining the Los Angeles Clippers yeah so you might as well tell us about the Swiss riser who came to America at NIOU MAC powerhouse and then transferred to Penn State and I guess really impressed in the combine when people maybe thought he’d go back to school and all of a sudden he’s a top 30 pick crazy stuff yeah definitely um he was a guy I believe started at the G-League combine then got invited to the regular combine crazy and kind of worked his way up uh which was you know pretty impressive um yeah uh you know uh Neerhauser is a guy this year at Penn State who was you know pretty impressive um they didn’t have really the best team but he was a guy was able to put up production there um pretty intriguing skill set as a guy that size he’s pretty mobile um you know pretty active defensively protect the rim a bit as well um I think his offense is is a bit intriguing too a guy I think could shoot long term so um pretty decent value at at you know the top 30 but I was kind of surprised he went this high i thought he’d maybe go a little bit later in the second round but um I think it’s a good swing to take do you think it’s telling at all all these teams taking centers i mean some of it is just who’s in the draft in a given year but they’re all are they’re all coming out west some in division crazy yeah I think so for sure um you know you look at OKC you know with with Cadet and and Hornstein um you look at look at Joic obviously i mean Zubos had a fantastic year as well uh I just think that the um the age of bringing back more physical bigs you just have to at this point to to keep as many bigs on the roster um I actually heard the Clippers liked uh Caulk Brener as well um I’m surprised that he didn’t go one of their picks in the late late first um so we’ll see if he goes in the second round tomorrow you know early on or not but yeah it definitely seems like the return of the big as far as stacking up physical bodies to compete with the you know guys like Joic and uh you know especially with OKC’s front court now it’s pretty dynamic you just need you know versatility in the front court and we saw that tonight lot lot of bigs going in in the mid first and I think the Thunder getting sober at 15 was was hilarious just considering that they kind of he just fell into their lap basically yeah well even Houston I mean I look at Houston and that was part of their battering Ram double big lineup i mean I think teams are looking that at that now as a weapon obviously I think in response to Jokic but now teams have their own way of using two bigs to to their advantage size is so back uh but at next year it’s still short king summer that season has a short season short king summer is still happening all right there we go did you not watch TJ McConnell he looked amazing you’re right look pretty incredible uh CT this was great man you provided a lot of insight on a night when the Nuggets didn’t do anything not a surprise but again tomorrow the second round i I would not be surprised if there was at least some kind of Nuggets news tomorrow i’m not saying trade into it but maybe you know still filling out rosters some different things happening so I think tomorrow will be interesting all the same ct thank you so much brother you were fantastic great stuff CT thank you guys for having me tonight really appreciate it uh it was a fun fun show tonight and uh looking forward to the second round tomorrow i think there’s probably some some value in that in that round that maybe the Nuggets get involved in but uh should be a fun night tomorrow but thanks for having me tonight i really enjoyed it hell yeah awesome man you’re the best in the biz thank you so much we’ll talk to you tomorrow thanks guys yep speak tomorrow uh we have more super chats kale more a few more here to round it out panda 58 says “Danny Wolf needs to learn Serbian go Nuggets and Nets.” Handshake why does he need
