the 2025 Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria Northern Zone Golf Championship has ended in Mina at the Niger state capital with 18year-old Grace emerging overall best gross of the IBB international golf and country club Abuja emerged with a total of 246 points after beating 45 other lady golfers at the championship held at the Mina Cantonment Golf Club 18-year-old Grace Abu emerged as the best golf champion after she returned a total gross score of 246 over 3 days to beat 45 other lady golfers who made the final court in the ladies handicap 0 to8 female category on Saturday June 21 speaking on her journey to victory said she overcame initial fears which saw her retaining a disappointing 90 gross on day one as she dropped to the fourth position on the leader board went I think they won I was fourth position and then they two I came back to um second position I was tying for second position and when I went to the course I was hoping for um something better than second position which is um first position um I went into the course for one I missed my t-shirt and um whole one I missed my t-shirt and I I think it actually brought me down because I was thinking I’m going to play like a double boogie or boogie there but after playing um par on whole one I knew that something great is going to happen today for which I had that belief throughout and um I played 73 which is plus three today so that’s how I got this my goal on her emergence as the champion for the competition said it is a stepping stone for her to further step up her game and become a professional in the nearest future I want to see myself playing um my game in the highest level that I can like being part of the LPGA tour playing flying my country’s flag everywhere in the world so So in other words you want to be a professional i want to be a professional golfer the first vice president of the ladies golf association of Nigeria Lami Ahmed said the objective of the competition of making the game attractive to women has been achieved change your mindset increase and improve your self-esteem and dare to face your challenge prizes were given to other lady golfers winners in different categories to climax the 4-day 2025 ladies golf association of Nigeria Northern Zone Golf Championship with a theme celebrating women in golf zachary Omal AIT News Mina come on [Music]
