Steel all big 12 preseason teams first team second team third team and fourth team also going to be making our picks and guesses as to maybe which Arizona State Sun Devils will actually make the 2025 preseason all Big 12 football team and then Be’s kind of mentioning it in the chat ryder Lions committing to BU if you don’t know the name we’ll talk about him in the future of the quarterback position in the Big 12 is it the quarterback conference in the power four we got Sharon in the chat what’s up Sharon we got Father Rubis father Father Rubis telling us that we need to step up the production game well Father Rubis just completely insulting my my job your ability to do your job Shane it’s been two days since Kevin Rand got i believe Mike Bnolder was still on one of them as well right oh really yeah you know it’s okay we celebrate Arizona history here much much like or a history podcast how how things work in America i’m gonna I I’ve been pushing this to the the the higher um not the higher power the the upper echelon of the company you’ve been talking to God about our intro and I and and I’m waiting on Apparently he hasn’t been responding i’m waiting on them so I’m Ryder Lions um like I said two good names we’ll say two great names two quarterback just great names all time names uh but let’s talk about a quarterback name that is not on Phil Steel’s all Big 12 preseason first team and that is Sam Levit now Xavier Alford Jordan Tyson repping ASU on that first team do do we want to talk about the good with that for I I feel like we’re going to get kind of nasty i mean we can talk about the same stuff honestly man it was just the transition that that popped out of my mouth that’s all we went it made sense and I’m sorry i’m sorry for for ruining your transition that made sense once again the stupidest person alive or the dumbest the dumbest person alive is there a difference i don’t know that’s a pretty stupid question but is there a difference between the dumbest and the stupidest i don’t think my dad has heard me say that right so that’s that’s fun okay navy at Alford and Jordan Tyson making first team all Big 12 preseason for Phil Steel which I hope we meet Phil Steele in Big 12 sure uh but I is that like a WWE wrestler who is this phil Steele is also a good name he’s an esteemed like just sports writer pretty much he’s an esteemed uh cage match wrestler well so when I saw it at first when I saw the Phil Steel thing and he does stuff like at the end of the year too I was like “Okay who like did what is this pretty much is this just like ASU didn’t have enough content to throw up on their their social media channels?” And you look up Phil Steel Big 12 every single like team that got a like a rep on the Phil Steel team like had an entire press release about like their the amount of players and all that stuff so he’s an esteemed guy um and he’s good at what he does but he’s definitely missed a mark on some but he definitely hit the nail on the head with Alford and Tyson um Tyson again one of the best wide receivers in the country not just the conference so it’s nice to see him get some some real He is what has he had the best off season for any Arizona State player like PR-wise i mean 94 and allegedly allegedly allegedly reportedly a 94 in in college football 26 he is like kind of being talked about in the same category as two of these you know premier blueb blood wide receivers in Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams you know he’s first team all Big 12 like the only negative thing I think I’ve seen about him was the stupid PFF Big 12 wide receiver thing that we did a trending pot on where he was like the fifth highest wide receiver in the Big 12 but even then they used his picture for the for the graphic because they knew he was the most notable guy they they knew who he was you put Jordan Tyson’s face on it it’s going to get clicks at this point in college football and and that’s and that’s great for this program and that’s great for him and I’m I’m excited to see I’m excited to see an opportunity for him and the third team all Big 12 quarterback Sam Levit to to kind of hit the ground running off the bat i think they can make a statement uh my my dad my dad says that was the dumbest stupidest thing thanks Dad um uh I I’m really excited because I think that if he starts off the season hot there are going to be some national analysts that go are we sure that Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams are winning the Blitinda cough this year if like let’s just say Jordan Tyson against NA and Mississippi State and Texas State we’re talking like 200 yard games maybe a 300 yard game that’s what it would take for him to be in that conversation for the Blinkoff that early in the season does it not feel like that’s possible though um I look I think from a skill perspective yes do I think that Kenny and this offense are gonna allow that to happen in those games absolutely not i don’t see him playing that way yeah him him playing that against what if it’s like man he had like five catches for 150 yards and then he sat the second half i mean then yeah maybe then maybe then yeah I could see that certainly happening look we’re talking about Jordan Tyson realistically as the first wide receiver to hear his name called in the 2026 NFL draft like that is realistically where he is at in the discussion in the discourse of college football wide receivers he is certainly worthy of being on Phil Steele’s all Big 12 first team and I think he is a surefire lock to be on the 2025 preseason all Big 12 football team i I genuinely feel that way as much of a lock as Tedoa McMillan was last year for the Arizona Wildcats I feel just as strongly about Jordan Tyson um this season and then on the opposite side of the football you got a guy that I’m glad is finally starting to get a little bit more recognition and Xavier Alford hearing his name and and seeing his name on the Phil Steel all Big 12 preseason first team somebody that I mean similar to Tyson got a lot of love when we’re talking about EA Sports College Football 26 right 91 overall allegedly allegedly um don’t want to get sued yeah yeah but I mean we had him on the show just uh a couple weeks ago and it was really really interesting to see just how level-headed uh he was with with just you know less than two months realistically till the start of camp and and really diving into what’s ahead and and what’s going to be his last season of college football so he certainly deserves that and and I think in terms of like again the the preseason all Big 12 football team um I think Xavier Alfred has a real good chance to to be on that list as well i I 100% agree i think that as far as ceiling for awards on this team I think there are three players that have the highest ceilings i think Jordan Tyson and Sam Levit those are going to be those names that people talk about the most quarterback wide receiver right xavier Alfred’s there like he he it’s it’s not like a separate tier like Xavier Alford is in the same tier I think as far as how good he can and can be and that he is for this team i think his impact and how good this Sunundevil defense is going to be is going to be a storyline for not just the Big 12 but in college football it’s like man Arizona State has one of the best defenses in in the country and this is a big reason why and they’re going to point at X first and deservedly so he’s ready for the moment he’s shown that he’s ready for the moment as well uh through the way that he had to sit and then the way that he stepped up at the beginning of last season that he was a leader and he really is somebody that I that I think can be uh like a mainstay face for this program this season not just like a good underrated player but like man when you think of Arizona State you think of those two guys that I mentioned before and then you think of Xavier Offford yeah and that’s something that’s tough right when when we talk about like what you immediately think of when it comes to this university like I I think regardless of the type of season Xavier Alfred has then whatever comes of this year it’s still going to always be oh look what Scott did right the year prior and then if ASU has a really good season this year it’s again like it’s look what Sam did look what Tyson did look what whoever is the lead running back did it it’s never going to be at least in this day and age I don’t think heavily revolved around the defense defense but when it’s all said and done those at ASU those that go and watch Arizona State at Mountain America Stadium those that that are watching ASU’s defense in the final minute of the game and and they’re looking for somebody to make a play they’re looking at two right they’re looking at Xavier Alford and and they know that here which I think is really awesome um but I mean like I kicked that off saying that like from a national perspective to be able to get this kind of recognition this early on in the season I think that is is super super awesome there’s a number of guys excuse me on this defense that I I think have the ability to be just monsters at the next level um they do need to have big seasons to to actually sell that to scouts to sell that to coaches to sell that to GMs uh but Xavier Alfred to I believe Beas’s point in the chat earlier i I could be wrong but uh saying that he’s going to be a day two pick i I could certainly see Xavier Alford be somebody that that has success at the next level do you think he’d be a first- round pick no um no no chance i’m not going to say no chance i I think there’s certainly a chance but if if the NFL drafts were to happen tomorrow no i don’t see him being a a first round pick and that’s not a knock on him that’s I mean look at the conversation that that we had just a couple weeks ago when we were or last week when we were talking about the best players in college football um and I’m totally blanking on the safety Caleb DS caleb DS um and you look at just the safety position in general from college football to the NFL we brought out the names James and Kyle Hamilton all the amazing success that they did how great of prospects they were coming out of college um and they slipped to the teens um so I I think there’s a world where Xavier Alfred can be a first round pick uh just given the the nature of that position going from college to the NFL it feels like it’s a position that you would more likely see get taken on round two round three what does he need to do with his game to be put in that conversation cuz David in the chat says he doesn’t know if X is fast enough but the same I don’t think it has anything to do with speed i I think when it when it go when it’s the difference for me between a day two pick specifically a round two pick and a round one pick isn’t the the oh he’s a little bit quicker oh he’s a little bit stronger for me it’s like do you have an ability to change the game right and I think we’ve seen at times that Xavier Alford has that ability right but is it something that shows up in every single game if he wants to be a first round pick that is something that needs to be there every single game you need to have the measurables and you need to be considered a game changer because we saw just in this past draft Cam Scataboo right he was a game changer every single play he was a gamecher but he didn’t have the measurables i think Xavier Alford has the measurables but on a consistent night in night out basis be that game changer and certainly you could be a a like early round two heck a late round one pick i I could see that in his I think I think he’s going to be the type of guy and I’m not saying it’s going to be a first round pick i maybe there’s the the potential there being a first round pick is very very hard to do this is not Yeah this is not us taking shots by the way off it’s a good goal it’s a good goal and I I think best case scenario end of the first round might be on the table he’s going to be somebody that once NFL teams talk to him and they talk to the coaches around him and maybe they do a little research and talk to the players that have played with him they’re going to love him they are going to fall in love with him and I think that wherever he is projected I think he goes higher in the actual draft because somebody’s going to say “You know what we just want this guy on our team.” Like he he is that type of personality i love Scat and and like you mentioned Scat had a game-breaking season the measurables weren’t all the way there scat was a great leader but but X is I feel like a different type of leader he didn’t play the season before in game one he’s still standing up and leading everything and and pregame speeches and huddles and whatever it is he’s going to be like first team all good guy in in college football this year and and a hard worker and an elite athlete with with what I think production to match a high draft spot i I think somebody reaches for him based off of where he’ll be projected in the draft there were already 10 months away there were already scouts that were asking why he didn’t come out at the end of last season yeah right unfinished business this year you want to accomplish something big this ain’t Mike saying X has Baltimore Raven written all over him uh him Kyle Hamilton would be a nasty Kyle Hamilton part of it i mean this ain’t Mike is very confident that he will be a first round pick so 22 to 32 he’s gone savian Alford staying staying here in the valley next to Buddha Baker that be can that be something down the line give me CJ fight yeah I guess at that point I think you would keep Buddha to mentor him for a year or two and then he would be the successor i don’t think Buddha would like that you don’t think Buddha would like that no i I mean how old is Buddha now he’s old he’s got to be He I think he I think he’d be fine with that i think he’d be fine you also don’t usually like like He’s only 29 is he only Baker’s only 29 i mean he’s still getting up there at football age yeah football age still I I kind of thought he’d be like 31 yeah same well safety safeties have a pretty short shelf life he’s different i not Not that this is the Buddha Baker podcast he is different he is different but is he he’s not even a top five safety of the league anymore yep that’s true yeah I I I could see the Cardinal going for a safety the game’s also totally different when he was playing it Steel but of his ranking specifically i think I think putting Sam Lev as the third best quarterback in the Big 12 feels like like a hipster thing like oh you know I don’t believe it’s like the cool thing go yeah like you know everybody’s really high on him but I I’m going to do this i I would I might have to get me some Phil Steel Plus to read exactly why he did this because because I just like I really do wonder what the full arguments are like is it man I watched Sam Levit’s tape and I thought I didn’t like what I saw what was it that you didn’t like i feel like it’s less of what he doesn’t like about Sam and more about what he’s enamored with with Sawyer and Avery i feel like that’s got to be the explanation but it’s But then it’s like acting like Sam doesn’t have like this like this raw potential right like I have no idea what you could possibly make the argument for that Sawyer and Avery do better than Sam the only argument I think you could make for Avery is that he is a better like he’s a better running quarterback than Sam is but even then Sam showed time and again last year that he was certainly capable of using his legs to beat defense and I I feel like with with Avery specifically the the better runner was more he wasn’t as good at everything else so he had to rely on that more and that was just the offensive scheme well right and I I think with Sam what he what he proved in the in the Peach Bowl that if he has to he can’t and I mean he was an absolute weapon on his legs last year so I just I don’t get that even from like I try sometimes I try to take a step back and look at it from an unbiased perspective even though I think you know we we call it like we see it we weren’t sitting here 365 days ago talking about Cam Scataboo is going to be a top five Heisman candidate and Arizona State’s going to be in the College Ball playoffs right like we’re realistic about what this is and realistically I’m high on Sawya Robertson i’m not as high on a top five quarterback i Yeah I’m not as high on Avery either i get like I get why people would be intrigued but I don’t understand why people are just like already handing him right like oh you’re top two kansas State in general people are high on man like this is some this is a team that had every opportunity to do it last year and they didn’t does this I’m I’m I’m more confused as to why people think that Kansas State is going to be better than they were last year i think a lot of it was one they underperformed like crazy um and they lost their best offensive weapon well yeah but they did pick up Dylan Edwards who’s really good he was on the team last year he was Well he was there last year yeah dj Giddens was the starting guy like I I just don’t understand why the the the conversation around Kansas State is that this team is going to magically be better like I understand year-over-year development but like dude the these two years have just completely merged together both both transfer portals completely merged together um yeah I mean underperforming i know they had some injury issues but yeah I get you people they’re the darlings for why though cuz Avery Johnson like has so much good hair he’s got so much room to grow like Yeah they’re in love with the potential but that’s the potential we’re not talking about the Big 12 all potential team i feel like Well even if you like Avery Johnson like Avery Johnson doesn’t make my first team second team or third team when we’re talking quarterback uh but if you are going based off potential then sure put him third team who would be on your third team i So Sam’s one for me second for me is probably Rocco um and third for me is probably Sawyer yeah I would I would put Sawyer in the top three honestly maybe Hoover hoover’s Hoover is interesting hoover I think at the end of this season might have the most chance to like rise from where people think he could be and and I think he could be a top two quarterback in this conference i think he could end up I I don’t know you think he could be the second best quarterback i don’t know if I would say he’s going to be but watching him and seeing like I think he’s going to be an NFL quarterback i I think Rockco will be an NFL quarterback but I think that he has a chance to be a top two quarterback i love Roco Beck i just love the name it is great josh Hoover is an underrated quarterback name i think that’s a good quarterback name josh Hoover is a is a is a member of Congress name not necessarily like NFL quarterback uh Idaho Josh Hoover no he’d be Nevada hoover Dam yeah yeah um and and back to Avery Johnson I think the big thing is like that whole AB abdominal injury that he was plagued with last year like that really tore his season apart and so you’re you’re assuming that he’s going to be at least some semblance of healthy this year um because at the start of the year we were remember how we was like uhoh this team is as good as we thought and then well because they beat the crap out of Arizona when Arizona was ranked so did everybody else well yeah but no this is when Arizona was ranked yeah that was what I think it was a Friday game that was a weird game that was a really weird game to to just watch to to analyze all all of the things uh but Shane we will get to the second team the third team and the fourth team quickly after this break if really solid that he’s starting to get some love i still think on a national basis Keith Abney doesn’t get a lot of love um I feel like Shane Dembbach the Ellie man feels that that very same way that there’s not a lot of conversation nationally about our guy Keith Abney um on the third team you’ve got obviously Sam Levit you have got Ben Coleman you have got Keshan Elliot and you have got a new Arizona State wide receiver in Jaylen Moss which of these guys Rubis do you think has the best chance to elevate to that second team or even first team sam it’s Sam Levit outside of Sam le um I’ll go bottom to top i think Jaylen Moss is least likely i think a lot of the eyes are going to be on on Tyson and I think that room has a couple of other stars that can in the making i I know I know you really I like Jaylen Moss too but I just I don’t know if he’s going to get the touches to to be there i was really high on Keshan Elliott last year especially going into last year he had a great year i think he’s an NFL player but but Ben Coleman probably is the most likely I think to to move up here you know i I I feel like I now have a lovehate relationship with Phil Steel because he put so many guys no and see that’s the thing right like besides Levit let’s break down what he did yeah right x and Tyson on the first team i don’t think a lot of people are putting X on the first team right i think Tyson is is clear unless you’re PFF right second team Keith Abney and CJ Fight i think Fight is probably a name that people will look at more there but like you said Keith Abney is not getting the love no like that and I’m like “Oh well thank you Phil Steele for finally recognizing i’m not thank for nothing.” Listen and then third team I mean Keshan Elliot Jaylen Moss Ben Coleman i I mean those are names that I honestly I didn’t expect to see maybe he’s just listening to what we say then then Sam Levit would be team one outside of that though he needed to be a little different he’s got Oh it’s like you’re copying homework which I would have never but you got to get a couple answers wrong never copy homework that’s what it is he He put all the right names but he he definitely got an answer or two wrong on that list like he he swapped I guess he didn’t swap anybody i still think Alford belongs first team i think Tyson’s first team i think Sam’s first team i love uh Fight and Abney at second team um Keshan and Ben Coleman I’m fine with at third team do you do you think Jaylen Moss is third team i wouldn’t put him third team i’d probably put him 14 um I think Jaylen Moss is going to have a better season than a lot of people think i think all of the attention is going to be on Jordan Tyson which immediately opens um an opportunity for Jaylen Moss i think this receiver room like I I I think we’ve talked about it a good amount but I don’t think ASU fans grasp look last year looking at the receiver room I think everyone was like “The depth isn’t there but the top end talent’s good.” This receiver room feels so much better it does just because like if you look at the your three your top three guys three your top three wide receivers not pass catchers your top three guys and you say “Okay Jordan Tyson certified X does everything.” And then you you go to Jiren Hamilton who can you know he’s his is the biggest boob can be a can be a burner but we don’t know yet but all signs point to he’s going to play a ton and then you have Jaylen Moss who looks like he’s going to be able to do everything in the intermediate like this i mean that that’s loads better than last year because you had Jordan Tyson and you had X but like you didn’t have these guys who would pick apart zones and you didn’t have a guy specifically to be a burner and like there there weren’t really layers to the defense or the the the receiver room excuse me and when you look at what they used outside of Jordan Tyson in the past game like you know Ex Gillery didn’t really get his burn until the end of the season like he had a couple of moments there i think Kansas the Kansas game maybe being the biggest for him where he started that game off strong but I you know you don’t look at that wide receiver room and go “Oh man they got a bunch.” I thought Milan Stoval was going to be a lot more involved this wide receiver room is better than either of the first two wide receiver rooms that and and and I mean I I like Elijah Badger too but you know I mean I’m not going to even put him in that conversation because he didn’t if him and Tyson would have ever played together then yeah that would have been far and away the best wide receiver sure 100% i I that might have been the best wide receiver duo in ASU history yeah yeah like potential wise you just don’t know because because obviously you look at Badgers production at Florida it would have been a lot different they had a better quarterback throwing to them at the time like if it was like Sam Lev Elijah Badger and and Jordan Tyson he was here during the quarterback competition i know and then left yeah if he would if he would have stayed yeah he could he could have stayed for sure um I I really like Jaylen Moss and I think the attention thing is is is a good point but I think there’s going to be a lot of love shared around as far as like it might be like okay this is the Jiren Hamilton game this is the Jaylen Moss game right like Jaylen Moss feels like more of a security blanket every game is going to be the Jordan Tyson game yes absolutely i listen I still am a believer in Malik Mlan i want that to be known i believe in Malik Mlan it’s not that I don’t believe in Malik Mane just I don’t think he’ll be like a consistent weapon but I think he’s going to maybe have like the highest ratio of really cool highlight plays to catches i just think when you you traditionally look at an offense there’s usually like a max of three consistent weapons two are usually like is usually the where you draw the line in the passing game and I feel like it’s so clear that Shaman who’s not on any of these four teams by I think that’s that might be the biggest miss here yeah um Shaman and Tyson are very clearly to me your your top two weapons and then after that then then I think you probably look to the backfield is it going to be Kanye who does indeed make the fourth team is it going to be Kaison is it rel like I I think in terms of pass catching yes it’s a deeper room i think this this is when I say deeper room and we say deeper room I I don’t want it to get confused that you’re going to see more production out of this room because I don’t necessarily think that is what you’re going to see in 2025 i think what you’re going to see is when there were opportunities last year on a third and eight or a a big second and 12 and Sam is looking for a wide receiver or he’s looking for a backup tight end or he’s looking for a running back those passes that would have ultimately been dropped or maybe there was a timing issue or whatever i think you see those connections be made right so I don’t think you’re going to see like a Jiren Hamilton finish consistently game over game with three catches 70 yards and a touchdown i don’t want to get that confused i think he’s a really talented wide receiver that’s got a really high upside that yes there are certainly games where he could have a a monster performance but I think more so it’s going to be like okay like Jiren Hamilton took the top off he had two catches for 57 yards and a touchdown right like or like one game he’s just eating because they’re leaving him open like three catches for 105 yards the plays that weren’t made by the backups last year or the guys that weren’t Jordan Tyson or Cam Scataboo I think those plays get made this year right sure so I I agree and but that doesn’t mean more production overall no and and I hear you i hear you and I do think Jordan Tyson’s numbers and we talked about this I think Jordan Tyson’s numbers go up and and that accounts for obviously playing more games as well i think Sam will be better at at kind of spreading that love out uh especially not just when it’s like “Oh man I need somebody.” But I think there’s going to be more designed plays uh ran for Sam to to identify hey okay I look at Shiman I look at Tyson of course I’m always going to be trying to find them but I know that Jaylen Moss or Jiren Hamilton or Malik Mlan or Derekio are going to be are going to be there for me so I I really like say that in just No I don’t i think I love Derek i see that more in just because of the depth of the room i like Dererickio i just don’t know how much actual playing time he’ll get so how much did you see him running in in spring ball uh he was working with the twos and the threes um like kind of going back and forth it’s tough because Jaylen Moss is just going to immediately have that slot spot but that’s where you would usually fit yeah but receivers don’t play every snap so 100% and I think what you’re going to see more so this year is Marcus moving some of these guys like traditionally like we’re not just going to see Jaylen Moss in the slot you’re not going to just see like Tyson lined up on the perimeter i think something that this offense is going to really really hone in on this year is because so many teams are going to be focused on Jordan Tyson is let’s move him around let’s put him in the slot let’s create mismatch if if you want to play man that’s fine we’re going to put him in a position where we feel like we can beat you if you want to sit in zone that’s totally fine too we’ve got other options that that we can work with here um and that’s without again us even talking about the tight ends that didn’t make this list tight end specifically in Shiman but other tight ends on this team that are going to be a real problem I think for for Big 12 defenses weapons weapons weapons weapons weapons weapons and options for maybe the most innovative There you go coaching staff in the country yeah 100% god get me to the season i know speaking of before we take our final break did did you see all the new gameplay stuff that has come out about EA about the coaches not about the coaches so there are 300 different coaches in the game so that probably means there are certain coordinators in the game yeah no ASU is confirmed that Brian Ward and Marcus are both in the game as well so not only are they physically in the game but their concepts are in the game they added like Oh wow like some an unbelievable amount of plays like to the game it was like 18,000 or something stupid like that so like it did get a little stale last year with some of the play calling you’re gonna see a lot of unique stuff and with this ASU team like I I it’s gonna look a lot different than what the game’s going to look like because last year was a lot of you know you’re you you were in traditional sets you were in traditional like 12 personnels and whatnot like this year we’re going to see 13s we’re going to see we’re going to see 23s at one point i bet it’s going to be gross that would be so awesome if ASU rolled out in 23 personnel i’d be I’d be shocked if they didn’t i just don’t know if they will i just don’t know they’re They’re at least going to be in 22 personnel they’re going to do some gross stuff they’re going to do some gross stuff and it’s You can’t tell me that that Roique and Kanye or Roique and Kaisen aren’t going to be in packages together i think they will i just don’t know how often you’re going to see it i think it’s going to happen not Not crazy often in all honesty I want them to just make I want it to be a challenge and I want them to stay in 22 or 23 personnel against NA the entire game the entire game the entire game you know the the We’re getting off topic but I’m just I’ll make this quick you know the the play creators in the old Madden game where you can make your own plays i had this play called Scram where it was a it was a it was 32 personnel with three backs two tight ends are we in the ISO what are we in uh we’re we’re in like a pistol it’s kind of like a wishbone okay okay um and the the running backs all go different ways so it’s literally scram so they’d run into each other but the if they’re if the defenders were ever playing man the linebackers would then collapse and everybody would just get lost and then somebody somebody gets open it’s great amazing scram i like that absolutely amazing gotta bring that uh to Kenny’s attention when he’s in office next see what he thinks relique would be so Jesus Gomez we got an Arizona State special team look how far we’ve come on the list love to see that i think Clayton Smith could have been higher i think he could have made a name for him on third team or a case for him excuse me on third team kanye is an interesting one on the the fourth team here are you surprised um I’m not so much surprised that it’s that it’s an Arizona State running back i just didn’t know which one they were going to go with i think Kanye is the if you are trying to forecast and and I know we’re really high on Kaisen Brown and rightfully so but Kanye Kanye had over a thousand yards for a for a good for a good team last year big Kanye Udo fan big Kanye Udo fan okay this is the last thing you hear before tori disrespects the hell out of you no big Kanye Udo fan uh given what we saw in spring ball there is not a clear RB1 there just isn’t so like I get you have to you have to make your list but I think in reality it was probably it’s more beneficial to Phil to go put a a running back from a team that like is going to just be the bellcow i don’t see a bellcow here not that that I don’t think they can do it just I don’t think that’s what this offense look like you’re more surprised by the fact that an Arizona State running back made the team not that this Arizona State running back i think I think you could have made an argument for any of them for any either Kanye Kyson i mean if you really love Relique sure put them on the list like I think they’re all really talented running backs i just don’t know yet what the workload in in what the share is going to be like on the field in 2025 that’s why I don’t know like again how much I love the the pick right i think Kanye is capable of going for a thousand i think Kyson’s capable of going for a thousand i think Relique could do 500 through the air and 500 on the ground i think that is certainly capable for all of those guys but will they do it again I don’t know until we get to probably week three and see what this offense looks like i I think that if if you are going to take an Arizona State running back I do think that Kanye as far as preseason expectations go is probably the safest choice transfer running back thousand yards last year and and and by and by all means is is looking to to measure up and have a very successful season here behind what should be a slightly hopefully hopefully improved offensive line we’ll see about how much Missing Leaf is going to come into play but obviously we we’re big Ben Coleman fans over here despite what you try to throw in my name um what I try and throw in your name you you you do it to yourself no I don’t you do no I don’t you do does he not say that he doesn’t believe in Benol that’s not what I say at all no he does not say that no all I’m saying is that Leaf was awesome and that you Ben Coleman is playing a position he’s never played before it is a question mark it is not one that I’m concerned about okay well you have to see him play like that’s just the I think we’re talking about the wrong thing here what do you want to talk about jesus Gomez i mean that’s awesome no seriously no I mean I think I think you’re actually right look at if you look at the the stats from last year in the Big 12 ASU was dead last in field goals field goal percentage they missed nine nine field goals were missed they were almost sub 550% there were some field goals that were missed in the biggest moment of the year in that that college football playoff game asu had one of the best plus minuses in the Big 12 they they beat teams on an average of 10 points more than 10 points tonight if ASU would just make had just made five of those nine that they missed which is not which is not something crazy to ask for field goals either because the 10th best team Cincinnati made 73% of their field goals were 16 of 22 you’re looking at 15 extra points that you’re giving an ASU team that didn’t even need that right and some people some people will argue with the season too like oh ASU won so many close games yeah but but the the it would have been bigger bigger margins if their kickers would hit field the stat that that isn’t shown anywhere is the times that they could have attempted a field goal correct and couldn’t have yeah and now they’re going to have that opportunity which is look at that Cincinnati game yeah oh my god i mean think about you lost that game because of that you literally had your your co who by all means is a very like welltempered person obviously like you know he he’ll get emotion that was so cool but like after after being like we’re holding kicker on who does that like like you know how bad the situation has to be for for you to do that it was bad it was it was literally to the point where they would line up to kick a field goal and you and I would look at each other and be like “Well that’s a miss that’s a team got to the college football playoffs and almost beat Texas without a mission next year so I don’t think next year is going to be his first year um at BYU but I mean this is the quarterback conference from now on right you obviously got all the guys this year Rockco Beck Sawyer Robertson Sam Levit the list goes on and on Avery Johnson but you look to the future man you got Ryder Lions at BYU you got Jake Fett at ASU you got Julian Lewis who say what you want about Colorado he is a highly rated guy as well at CU at that point he’ll be going into to his second year um you’ve got Houston who’s got a top 10 quarterback I believe a top three quarterback actually in the class of 2026 um and Kaisen Henderson I could be pronouncing it wrong kean Keshan Henderson um and then TCU’s got their guy of the future as well in Adam Shoel um this this conference
