I’ve seen a lot of videos of playing partners looking in the hole before the guy with the ace.
This behavior has to stop.
In college, I worked in the pro shop at a country club. We were closed on Mondays but on Monday afternoon, after the grounds crew finished up for the day, we’d go out for a 9 hole match. There would be up to 8 in the group and if you won the hole, everyone paid you a quarter, right there on the green. We all had a bag of quarters in our golf bag. If you won the hole, you’d yell PESETA!
Most of the guys didn’t speak english but you fully understood when they were ragging you after a bad shot.
Honestly, it’s probably my most fond memory of golf, along with playing with my grandfather. Man, golf is great…
