right listen uh let’s start off with a fight that’s coming up this Friday actually Deontay Wilder is going to return to the ring after a yearong absence tell us about the guy’s fighting and also what can we expect from a Deontay Wilder who has lost what four of his last five fights is that right yeah he hasn’t looked great has he and um there was talk about whether he’d retire whether he’d walk away from the sport um you had those bad defeats in Saudi and uh yeah I think I think with Deontay um I mean he’s he’s been around a long time one thing you never lose is your punch uh and his his right hand probably is the is the single most potent weapon of any heavyweight um I’ve seen in a long time um I remember when he knocked Lewis Ortiz out in their second fight and you could just feel the the tremor at ringside when when Ortiz went down he hits incredibly hard however whether the legs is still there we’ll learn a little bit um rather an unknown opponent uh rather than an unknown venue all a little bit quiet as a return i think he just wants to um see what’s left i think this is a uh a question really for him to answer more than anybody else i think if he gets through this which we expect him to um obviously former bronze medalist in the Olympics um world heavyweight champion shouldn’t be having too many problems on a lowkey night like this but we’ll see and after that the conversation will move towards whether he fights somebody maybe like AJ it’s a fight that’s been touted for many many years it’s a fight I think people would still be interested to see because of the jeopardy in that um but yeah he’s very much at the end of his career it’s just what he can drag up I guess in the next few months as you said there smudge I mean he’s been in with some some his last few fights haven’t been great the Joseph Parker the Jang as well that was a bad knockout um do you see any way back from though to that top table because when you look at what’s coming we’ve already spoke about Moses um you’ve got us you’ve got Dubois you’ve got AJ still there Fury can you see a way back from at that top table I was worried like you I think when he fought Jiang I thought his legs didn’t look quite right I I think that he couldn’t really steady himself for that right hand um whether he’s just lost the belief that that can that weapon can detonate and do the damage i mean obviously he can box he he was uh he was a a good amateur but it’s never been he’s never been a Fury he’s never even been an AJ what he has possessed is a decent jab good movement and a wonderful right hand and if the legs aren’t what they were then I’d worry about him but saying that Tyson and AJ they’re all at an age now so there’s no reason I don’t think why he can’t still have a big fight um obviously he’s got to get through this week’s very easy assignment and uh and yeah look I mean the heavyweight um division is massively interesting there’s so many fights that could be made i was with Dave Allen on Saturday night he was talking about TKV they possibly even offering him the Joe Parker fight there’s there’s so many possibilities out there um we’ve got Usyk and and Dubois in under four weeks we’ve got Lawrence Aoli back on that night um there’s so much awaiting um and the new generation Moses Tama coming through against Dillian White in August so time waits for no one and um I’ I’ve got to say when I saw Deontay out in Saudi I wondered whether that was that was that but it’s up to him and and if he feels that he’s still got something he’s got this sparkling new gym that he’s built and uh maybe he’s got the bit back between his teeth and wants to prove something so let’s see how he gets on on Friday and then let’s see if he can uh get one of those big fights he’s a big name and that means he will get something smudge um let me Oh by the way if you get offered a decent fair take it and we’ll come back to you i will don’t worry where where does he go when he when he finally retires deontay Wilder how highly do you rate does he go down as a boxing great i think he goes down as one of the heaviest hitters one of the biggest punches ever seen in the heavyweight division i don’t think he goes down as one of the great boxers no former world champion but I think what he will be remembered I look back at the heavyweights over the years we remember Mike Tyson’s ferocious power but that was combination punching ernie Shavers was a huge knockout artist lennox Lewis hit very very hard um but in the modern generation no question Deontay Wilder hits harder than all of them so that’s what he’ll be remembered for for his brutal right hand okay let’s move on now talk about a massive fight which is coming up next month it sees Alexander Usyk against Daniel Dubois Wembley just well under a month now until this fight are your thoughts changing on it at all as we get closer it’s interesting more and more people I I’m talking to fancy Daniel Dubois um I I think when the fight was first announced most thought Usyk would just repeat the feat that he did in in Poland um obviously the boys got momentum with those wins over Miller and Herovic and of course AJ at Wembley where people were worried worried whether he’d freeze and in front of 96,000 he he dismantled Joshua so uh he could be in no better form i would have liked him to have fought in February when he was going to fight Joseph Parker i think that lack of ring time might be problematic come the Usyk fight i don’t think there’ll be any decline from Usyk uh I think he’s got you know he’s got heavy hands Dubois and he he’ll go for it and I think he’ll always be dangerous while he’s there i just wonder if Usyk will be slightly too clever still um I don’t know look it’s it the the gap has definitely closed usyk is getting older dubois’s getting better um there’s no way that he can outbox Alexander Usi round after round but can he punch through him there’s a possibility and that’s where the jeopardy is and of course he’ll have the home crowd um he’s got nothing to lose i think people expect Usyk as this sort of unbeatable force but the legs will go at some stage and uh that low blow whether it was whether it wasn’t is long gone now but it will give Dwa confidence that he can work the Usyk body and if he can get to him he can hurt him and then it’ll be very very interesting you said it there sm I just wondered that with the low blow was it a low blow was it not the bra obviously he gone from strength since that fight to be fair that first fight he’s gone from strength to strength and I just wonder from you Usyk’s point of view with that body shot coming in he now knows about Dwis’s power does he take a back step at all do you think I think he does what he always does which is technically work out the opponent in front of him he’s very very good in rematches look what he did with Joshua what he did with Fury I I think that you know Usyk will go go about his business in exactly the way he always has he’s got fantastic feet he’s got wonderful hands that southpaw style is always going to be difficult i don’t think he’ll be worried in any way about the power that Dubois possesses uh he’s been in with other big heavyweights who’ve got that power i think what he will be slightly concerned about or certainly more aware of is the form that Dubois in and the fact that Don Charles has got into Dubois mentally now he’s a stronger man Daniel Dubois which means he’s a more dangerous fighter and I think if it was anyone other than Usyk facing him on se on July the 19th I would think that Daniel Jabis would would probably clean up but Usyk is just that bit special and uh look he can’t go on forever usyk but I see no sign of decline and if you look at the last three or four rounds in the Tyson Fury second fight Usyk was just getting better and better so if he works him out quickly Dwis’s in a lot of trouble but if Dwis can hurt him who knows m uh right let’s finish by looking back at a week in boxing history because Friday will mark I mean this is going to make us all feel incredibly old 37 years since Mike Tyson beat Michael Spinx by knockout in the first round of their heavyweight bout at the time it was the richest fight in boxing history grossing around $70 million with both men undefeated going into it i know how much you love looking back at fights and boxing history take us back to your memories for this one if you can just briefly Adam i think it was Mike Tyson at his absolute peak um Teddy Atlas uh one of his former trainers told me that that Mike Tyson was like a a shooting star he was brilliant but he was gone too quickly of course he was around for a long time he was fancied to give Tyson a real run for his money the story goes that that Tyson punched a hole in the locker room before the fight he was in that sort of a state that sort of a mindset he was absolutely ferocious the whole thing was over in a minute and a half and I think he would have been probably beaten maybe Ali aside any heavyweight in history on that particular night that was his definitive peak he was absolutely menacing and uh I urge anyone out there just to go back and uh and spend a couple of minutes of your of your time tonight just just watching it again because it was something quite extraordinary it really was it won’t take up too much of your time smudger um always a pleasure how are you where are you in the world what are you doing can I want to give I want to give two plugs here one is uh I’m I’m I’m around about the UK this week cuz I’m in Hull on Saturday night we’ve got Shakaman Pitter and Brad Ray for the European uh light heavyweight title good fight GBM on the zone but also I was in Birmingham last week uh great great fights um Paul Galia lost his undefeated record but Pat Browns really well again but I want to just shout out Tiam Aton who is the young 18-year-old who turned professional she is uh she’s a phenomenon and I think that she could be very very exciting eddie Hearn and Brian Peters who guides Katy Taylor believes she’s the next female superstar keep your eye on the 18-year-old TMA Eton from Bristol she is very very impressive okay message received and understood smart you’re always very impressive thanks so much for coming on a real pleasure and we’ll catch up with you in a bit cheers 1. How has Dubois looked better? He looks the same as he always does. Runs forward takes shots hoping for the stoppage. Nothing wrong with that, that’s a staple of many heavyweight fighters.

On the other hand people saying Usyk looks like he’s gotten better….

He hasn’t looked the same since the first Joshua fight. Hes just so good that him being only 70% of his prime is still better than everyone else.

It’s either gona be a typical Usyk masterpiece where he wins 8-10 rounds with a bit of drama, or father times gona punch his clock and Dubois will be in the ring for it to happen. If you doubt that then tell me assuming Usyks at his best where is Dubois better?

    Exactly lol.

  2. Usyk too clever for 3D, he punches on instinct instead of analyzing before punching and 3D can't keep up with that.

  3. Dubois can beat usyk hes hungryest figher in heavyweight division and he can punch like tyson he just needs to stay sharp in ther

  4. Dubois’ foot work is worse than AJ’s that was why Usyk got him to submit to a barrage of jabs..

  5. If you leave your chin in the air or stand square on and trade with Dubois you are in trouble. If you move, box and create different angles Dubois's strengths are negated.

  6. I wonder if anyone has though more about putting on a 'Farewell' last-hurrah type of full card?
    Wilder vs AJ
    Chisora vs Whyte
Who else is ready to do a 'final bow' matchup?
I feel like Canelo vs Crawford is, in a way, them both doing their last 'Superfight' even if they might do a few last bouts afterwards and those might be like 'fight in hometown' or exhibitions.
I expect this is Usyk's last fight, win or lose (probably lose) and then he does a "MMA" type exhibition.
Fury vs Zhang?? on the 'Goodbye' supercard?

  7. Deontay wilders punch power cones from his speed he has lost his speed hes old and well past it

  8. Same result as the first fight, Dubious is an overated Warren boxer.
Kevin lorana whooped Dubious , and Dubious only just managed to win a rigged fight 😂😂😂😂😂.

  9. Wilder is completely gone after trying the s. American vine meds. He’s in la la land and AJ could easily fall over after one shot on the temple. But in boxing at h.weight one lucky punch is all it takes and that’s why it’s so exciting. You never know what’s gonna happen.

  10. These pundits really need to stop stating the old "one thing you never lose is your punch". A male will be at his strongest physically in their late 20's / early 30's. Joe Joyce at 39 has not knocked anyone out for 3 years and I'm not counting Kash Ali. There is nothing on his punches now. Whyte – 37 – last knockout 4 years ago. Fury 36 – last KO 3 years ago. That said, Dave Allen shouldn't be sharing a ring with Wilder.

  11. "Wilder hits harder than all of them" yeah against all those guys ranked outside the worlds top 300 ; he's nowhere near as big a puncher as people like Smith suggest , when he fought truly elite HWs like Fury Parker and Zhang he couldnt stop them. HWs like Tyson Shavers etc beat TRULY elite HWs with KOs , Wilder never beat one , Smith talking nonsense not for the first time.

  12. The title 😂ddd didn’t dismantle anyone yet! AJ was simple wide open a banana skin would have done the same job.

  13. ddd cant beat usyk ffs, stop talking utter sh!te. i get he is british……but please stop lying and just be honest. usyk will win. its blatantly obvious.
