the greatest athlete ever isn’t Messi or Jordan it’s a table tennis player maong didn’t just win the Olympics World Championships and World Cup he conquered them all twice no other male player has achieved this but malang’s biggest secret isn’t in his trophies or his skills it’s something invisible he set the longest winning streak in modern table tennis history remaining undefeated for 35 straight matches opponents had no answer for his Unstoppable consistency yet even this incredible record doesn’t reveal his greatest strength at the Rio Olympics final facing immense pressure against rival Jang GK Malong turned tension into Triumph proving he’s at his best when it matters most Malong didn’t just redefine table tennis he redefined greatness itself

  1. Greatest athlete is Michael Felps, he won 28 gold medals. Comparing to any other sports, would be like to win in every category and every competition of your sport, he won a gold medal.

  2. nah zhang jike is better than malong we need to remember that zhang jike has an injury that's getting worse resulting in his performance to decline. if zhang jike didnt had any injury and still playing at his peak performance ma long wont beat him

  3. Great player no doubt. Howerver, Waldner winning the 1997 World Championship without dropping a single game, isn't exactly something to sneeze at either. I'd rather watch Waldner play than Ma Long's any day.

  4. Ahem, "the greatest athlete ever" you say? "Redefined Greatness" you say? "Records" you say? I think you may wish to look up a little known athlete named Usain Bolt, not sure if you have ever heard of him. You are welcome.

BTW, I'm a Ma long fan and TT player, as well as a sports fanatic.

  5. Point of information: Considering the meaning of the words ATHLETE, EVER and GREATNESS… Would that not be Usain Bolt? Greatness is nothing without "dominance" and "transcending" the actual sport into society and/or other sports. He is the GOAT of TT yes. However Bo Jackson, Serena Williams, Deon Sanders, Micheal Phelps, Muhammed Ali are all greater "athletes."

  6. One of his biggest achievement in terms of difficulty is he is the only player to have won TT men's single twice at Chinese National Games. It's also held once per 4 years and the average standard is way higher than the Olympics in TT. Guys like Ma Long and Fan Zhendong need to be careful the whole way otherwise they lose to some relatively unknown Chinese player in the round of 64.

  7. Ma Long is the absolute undisputed Legend in Table Tennis but even as a huge TT fan it doesnt make alot of sense to make such blatant comparisons between sports.

In China (where Ma Long is from) TT is an absolutely huge deal, basically the national sport of this massive country and kids are often selected from a very young age to fully focus and train for Table Tennis. In comparison sports like basketball are less of a priority there, same goes for most of europe which is only just now starting to develop their leagues a bit. Football (the real one thats not a commercial sellout) is big too but it makes sense that the top of the line TT players are all from china basically. Well technically china and germany but outside of china TT still is like a niche sport for many countries.

Football on the other hand is without a doubt the biggest sport in the entire world by a long shot with the hardest competition and to be as dominant as messi is/was is almost impossible if you look at the odds. Especially since alot of great potential players get (severely) injured early on in their career which makes us loose alot of great player as well. That’s just the nature of the sport that’s this competitive and involves physical altercation (technically does not but you know how people are) as opposed to sports like Table Tennis, tennis or like volleyball where your main worry is keeping „only“ yourself and your body in good shape and healthy to continue to compete

  8. Statistically speaking, Ma Long literally just isn't better than the Sports GOATs.

Messi and Ronaldo have stats literally over 2x everyone else.

Magnus Carlsen has a winning streak of 128 games. It lasted two years.

Sumo legend 'Raiden' has a winning streak of 96.2%, over the course of 21 years and 254 games.

That's basically 1 game a month, for 21 years, and won practically of them. Not only that, but he was handicapped for many of those games, because it wasn't fun for the spectators to watch him undeniably win every game. He wasn't allowed to use (I believe) his "four" favourite moves. The opponents had free reign.

And, the longest sumo winning streak was 69 games, lasting two years. A.K.A. 3 Games a Month and he won every single one. Futabayama.

Ma Long is impressive, and he's definitely "a GOAT" but he's definitely, definitely not the GOAT of all GOATs.
