who makes the best fairway wood in 2025 we got nine of them here only one way to find out we have the Titus GT2 the Tailor Made Qi 35 the Mazuno ST Max the Ping G440 Max the Cobra Dark Speed Adapt MaxD the PXG Black Ops 0311 the Callaway Elite X the Srixon ZXi series and then the budget model which is the sleeper of the bunch the Tour Edge Exotics E725 series can it hang with the big dogs some companies make really good drivers and not so good fairways and some companies make really good fairways and not so good drivers so it’s important that we review them separately one of the biggest mistakes people make is let’s say they love the Callaway driver they automatically go with the Callaway Woods and that not might not be the best choice for them i think it’s kind of old school mentality that all your woods have to match don’t you think like that’s kind of faded from popularity still very popular but I don’t think it should be yeah and I think more guys are kind of coming to that especially like you said JJ Spawn so I think it’s huge for you to find what suits that aspect that spot in your bag it’s so important to get what’s going to do what you need it to do rather than just matching head covers yep i’ll just hand you one you want to start with anything in particular uh you can surprise me [Music] let’s start with Tate’s favorite the Mazuno ST Max so when we first opened our store a couple years ago Mizuno was the brand I wanted to play i kind of wanted a Mizuno top to bottom i could see it in irons you wanted to play their woods everything i did play their driver remember i could I could bomb that thing but I also didn’t know which direction it was going so here we go the ST Max very good looking 3-wood i love the blue on the bottom not a lot i don’t have a lot to give you on the on the Mazuno outside of it’s a kind of like well I’ll save Tour Edge here for a little bit but it’s a it’s turned into a budget model and I don’t mean that in a negative it’s just um one of the more affordable fairway woods we have out here on the woods yeah and irons Mizuno doesn’t have to do much on irons no for marketing wise now I think um Yeah not bad actually feels pretty good dude i think I like their titanium 3wood better their hotter face model i could see that steelwise I think I like that one better yeah but you have to pure great price point model though yeah those are some good strikes let me get in there we got a lot to hit today good catch great catch yeah not bothering me aesthetically do you prefer a glossy crown or a matte crown matt but I’m not going to get upset about either you have to think about it on that one that feels pretty stable cuz that was not well struck and again for me that’s the most important quality you know especially maybe not a 3-wood but like a five or seven would oh yeah i’m just looking for You’re not trying to claim a fivewood or a sevenwood like you have a very specific job for this club yeah that feels good yeah it feels good it’s loud better than I thought tate I like this thing feels pretty good huh a lot more than I thought yeah that’s wonderful really exceeding my expectations here that one’s bomb dude yeah okay we’re not going to eliminate this one no we’re only doing top five i kind of expected to eliminate that one if I’m not not lying to you we might we might be in for this this going to be a tough cookie of a video i’ll be honest so this is going back in the bag speaking of cookies what what what’s your flavor like the crumble cookie flavor of the week no crumble cookies i don’t That’s a whole another ball game i don’t I don’t think we don’t have enough time to go into that that’s just like a different dessert category yeah that’s a You put any crumble cookie in front of me I’m going to eat it same with a real cookie oh there was like a there was one crumble cookie where I was like “No didn’t do it for you.” The cheesecake one oh my god yeah and I wouldn’t eat it i ate it yeah uh regular cookie what’s your flavor dealer’s choice your wife’s making cookies what are you telling her to make dealer’s choice i’m going um first of all crunchy or soft cookies crunchy oh my then a glass of milk to soft like you want the bottom burned like a little burn no oh chocolate chip yeah dip them in milk well I want them chewy yeah let them soften up chewy no see then it almost tastes real i’m going peanut butter like peanut butter chocolate chip what about this peanut butter cookie with a Reese’s peanut butter cup smashed into it and then it’s melted a little bit you down yeah I’m down anything peanut butter you had me all right let’s go um you’re hot you just keep hitting you kind of want to go Cobra let’s go Cobra let’s do it so we’re hitting the Max DS adapt the Max Draw um Cobra is notorious for making fantastic fairway woods yes unlike Mazuno no but that Mazuno is awesome that Mazuno felt really good they’ve always performed well for us i think the Cobra fairway woods are better than their drivers i think that argument is valid for me just wanting something with that’s really forgiving and stable the head’s just a touch small for me that’s just personal preference so the bigger the more comfortable you are it gets makes me feel more confident like it’s more forgiving i could see that i’ll tell you what though the feel off the face is wonderful man that felt good oh I know i’ll tell you what though that’s not up for grabs i’m just going to be honest with you cat out of the bag this is Tate that’s my gamer yeah this is wonderful also wonderful i think um what sets Cobra apart is the feel off the face yes feelwise they they just inspire a lot of confidence very very stable i love the sharp tink do you hear that something about that with it just sounds great yeah i want to hold catch one green like land and hold 230 yards out how how many times you hitting a green and holding it one out of 10 for me maybe one out of 10 honestly 230 sometimes you try and just run it up there oh oh it’s just moving on you you got it you can do it i’ve seen you do it a thousand times in real life that’s heavy nope feels really good though like if I was getting out of trouble even with a h a heavy mit that’s a great miss yeah that’s it that’s it a little towy oh that’s going to be on the green i don’t think it’ll hold the green no but great club I think I tendency I have a tendency to pull it left so the draw model is just I don’t know if I’d go with the the max draw personally now you cut the ball so I see why you use that club now what’s interesting is um you cut the ball with every single club except that one every single club fades this one is This one’s a draw every time so what’s kind of cool about that is you can within your set makeup you know give yourself one club that is not your traditional shot shape is that going to hold it that might fringe fringe it’s nice having one club that you know will turn the other way that will go left there’s a couple of holes where it’s layup holes and they maybe dog leg left a little bit this club I know I can start center of the fairway and it’s gonna get me shorter maybe think about that in a fitting too you know have one fairway wood or something that will do something a little different characteristic wise yeah just fantastic fantastic club that’s There’s no way we’re pulling that out of the bag right no well I’m certainly not pulling it out of the bag ping yeah just a Tensy black in it i like that now Ping is notorious for being very very stable yes very stable golf club what u what is that a five uh 3-wood 3-wood the Ping G440 Max so they’re normally notorious for being very stable usually not the hottest no yeah nobody ever says that Ping’s the fastest ball okay so you never said what your cookie is chocolate i’m a chocolate chip guy a nice crunchy chocolate chip with a glass of milk but I’m also a milk guy i love milk you can’t tell by my figure i’m a sucker for a glass of milk in a cookie what about you i’m a a chewy cookie person chewy oatmeal raisin is my go-to oh my god raisins don’t belong in anything dessert related okay but we were in the United lounge and I was pounding oatmeal raisin and me and Alex were the only two in the whole group that liked them you give me oatmeal I’m all about it the second you put raisins in that I want nothing to do with it i’ll do oatmeal chocolate chip but you’re disgusted by the raisins oatmeal chocolate chip i don’t think I’ve ever had one of those i’ I’ve never heard of it yeah it’s not the most popular now what about this so does that mean you’re a Raisin Brand kid do you eat Raisin Brand i’m not a Raisin Brand yeah no I haven’t i mean it’s basically like you if if your mom gave you Raisin Brand to eat for breakfast you might as well be eating grape nuts like you’re in timeout like you’re getting punished i ate a lot of Raisin Brand why for fun like on purpose in New York that’s what they had on purpose yeah if I was going to eat it that’s what my roommates and stuff would have you put that in ice cold milk the raisins get like hard they harden yo yeah nobody wants that it’s brand gets you nice movement i don’t know what else you eating it for taking good dumps talk to me okay that one the first one compared to that one vast different shots feel good yeah that one was sweet spotted that one felt real good it’s a little heavier but it’s probably cuz it’s the Max model to help you dip at the top to keep you from coming this way sometimes that they’ll put heavy weights and I don’t know about this pink specifically but so that helps you come this way instead of this way oh that seemed like a miss it’s a little towy but pretty again you know things kind of living up to their reputation pretty stable dang it dude this could be tough we’re going to have to pull something all right last one it’s kind of like drivers nowadays it’s like everyone makes a good driver and everyone makes a pretty good fairway aesthetically I don’t know if I love it i don’t know something about it like the oval shape or something oh my gosh that is my worst one yet you and me both it definitely feels stable but it feels like a little firm yeah feels heavy kind of huh yeah oh I don’t know if I love it as much as I love their drivers i’m happy with the sentiment that you’re sharing cuz I was feeling the same way not my favorite no I love their driver there’s a good one yeah it just feels boardy no even that one I don’t love just feels boardy this is the same shaft we were just that we were hitting in the Mazuno that we loved yeah same exact shaft it just it does it feels like I’m getting stuck with it no not for me tate can we controversially Yeah take it out you’re going to get a lot of hate for this but snap it i don’t care pxg time pxg time pxg is another one where kind of like a Cobra where I think the driver is just okay but their fairways are exceptional so you’re telling me nobody makes golf clubs the way that they do period no but PHG’s lost a lot of momentum lately oh yeah in our store especially really good stuff here though so they have perimeter weighting so it’s one of the few where we can put toe weights in back weights or heel weights and we can really kind of manipulate that face and they feel great so this is the Black Ops let’s try it you know what it kind of reminds me of their infomercials like uh John Madden boom tough acting good acting oh that was so bad but good result that was so Healy that should have been way more right what was that product that John Madden repped tough actin teddact yeah it’s for athletes foot spray tom tough acting cad see that was way healy oh there you go yeah that feels great nobody makes golf clubs the way that we do little heel cut there again too period yeah this feels a lot like um a lot like the uh Cobra to me like very superior feel i’m sorry i’m I’m just I’m lost over here doing voices and all kinds of crap that one sounded roasted it’s got a good sound to it too does and it feels great do you prefer a louder click or a doled out sound on a wood i don’t know that I I don’t want it to feel thuddy I like that man and it’s it’s launching really good that one was sharp that’s nice oh okay little thinny watch it i’ve seen enough i know i like this it’s very solid okay i think the solid feel combined with the fact that it’s really easy to fit to a player cuz we can adjust weighting yeah that feels nice it’s not as hot as the Mazuno you like the Mazuno a little better um just speedwise yeah I’m swinging it plenty fast 106 milesPH oh it does feel really good off the face even on that like dead pole there that I just dispersion’s not as good though huh mm- not for you no I was hitting it pretty good but fuel-wise I I’m very And you know what i’ve gamed PXGs in the past fairway woods and I always did well with them yeah it’s a solid fairway wood feels good okay well is it staying in i think it needs to let me just try and smooth one let me just try and smooth one give me a smoothie i mean yeah it gets in the air nice okay now what we got a few more to hit we’re keeping too many let’s go um should we go strixy yeah let’s do Stricks on did was Spawn playing those i don’t know what woods he’s playing let’s see again we have the ZXI 7wood so very similar to the Cobra small top matte black looks good it’s tiny though we got all the the hoszle adjustments no adjustments in the head no here’s another example spawn is a Strixon staffer okay yep which by the way Strixon now has officially won more tournaments this year only behind title list when it comes to balls really zar it’s number number two most winning ball on tour zar and the Prov example full strix on staffer playing QI fairways and a title is GT driver that’s crazy i’ll be honest though if Stricks makes some incredibly good products fairway wood i don’t know let’s you be the judge hydraw feel good felt good so we have no adjustability here we have the I frame the rebound frame kind of like their driver yep what it what I found with their drivers and fairways is they’re they’re very very solid you know what I mean but nothing’s just flying off the page to me what am I doing hitting high draws do you agree with that sentiment when it comes to their fairways absolutely very very solid good product wonderful product i can and have played them and a lot of guys get fit into them they that’s what they prefer but for the majority is nothing wow compared to their irons we sell so many irons that one I tried to fade we don’t sell that many fairways we sell even less it’s got to be under five a year and what are their commercials irons or Cleveland wedges just okay for you yeah just all right fly ball he’s out so we went down to the Broadmore for the US Senior Open Media Day we’ll be posting on that and you want to talk about cookies oh when they fed us lunch i forgot about those the cookie bar they had a cookie dessert bar like a buffet bar i found a snicker doodle i found a lemon cookie i found chocolate chip and I I had to flavor them all try them all not just you the gobbler was in there too yeah sawyer snuck in golfing with Sawyer got snuck his way in there too he ate more cookies than I did yeah I’m double his size at least he’s 15 years old if we saw what he could do with cookies that day imagine what he’ll do when he hits puberty high toe there very very solid not a lot of complaints but not that a lot that I’m in love with either do you think it’s not jumping off the page because they’re not really doing a ton techwise it’s just a very straightforward club i mean it does feel good now that I’m hitting there isn’t a bad club in here no yeah it’s just okay though no I mean they got the rebound frame in here yeah but there’s no waiting there’s no The sound is just okay the head shape’s a little small for me yeah I’ve seen enough i’m I think Can we As big of a Strixon fan as I am it’s got to go i’ll keep this party going so we got Tour Edge Titalist Tailor Made and Callaway yep so we got the big three and then the little dog the little dog okay start open up open up we’ve been talking Taylor made yep should we see if the hype is real here now this is the core model all right this isn’t the tour their tour model is cool because you can really adjust the spin a lot and knock down the ball flight with that shiftable weight so a lot of technology here we have um our speed pocket we have twist face aesthetically very attractive these new Qi35 fairways look great some of if not the most attractive on the market that’s a good heavy one yeah it was a terrible mishit but look at the result that’s fairway oh smoke show oh man mikey likey land on the line land on the line great swing there big fella why am I not gaming tailor made woods tate I said that to myself on after a few of these why am I not hitting this another heavy one look how straight it is all right one more with this one it feels a little I don’t like the feel of it as much as the other ones but the dispersion is so good performance is nice yeah what you’re seeing ooh drop kicky another mish hit but you live with that i didn’t hit any of them great not my favorite but I love the dispersion of this thing yeah so this you have one weight but there’s no adjustments to it to this model low on the face okay i like that that’s nice yeah same thing your dispersion is really good with it dispersion is really good it’s not getting super high but that that could be this Ventus Black yeah that’s in your Cobra though that one tried to launch high everything is so straight okay and again not to re reiterate on that but you’re only hitting this club twice around maybe so it has to be straight in my mind no all right what do we got you want Callaway or Titalist that one same thing you can’t You can’t pull it yet right no not yet let’s go Titalist huh newest brand gt2 tidalist GT2 might I add the newest brand at Embers Golf tidalist the biggest dog in the golf industry we finally cracked through this is the GT2 a very classic look one of the best looks might I add all of their woods look phenomenal they all pass the eye test trevor tell me a little bit about the GT2 series well the two is the most forgiving head in the bunch but what we found with drivers and minis sounds good that feel good felt phenomenal oh boy dude that was on a rope what we found with everything else now I haven’t hit this fairway wood yet this is a fivewood that’s a small five looks like a sevenwood or a 9wood it’s tiny it um all of their stuff is very very low spinning so typically that what we found is they’re typically suited for better players wow wow kate’s getting along with it just fine though yeah i’m trying to hit up on it too to talk to me about the feel feel stable it feels very good titalist has a very specific feel off the face it’s a high ting sound and it feels sharp like it’s it’s coming off hot whether or not it actually is it feels like it is wow dude this is a fivewood and you’re you you need help with knocking your spin down so that might be a good club that would 285wood brother it’s cuz it knocked your spin down oh yeah i don’t know if that suits my eye tiny huh real tiny wow that You are right that That was toe but that does feel good i love that feel feels hot huh like it’s just blowing off interonte i thought I had my bag settled for the year that’s why I hate doing these reviews sometimes yeah you like every single one of them messes to me just have 14 club bag but they’re all woods see that’s terrible watch it pretty straight that’s a good fairway wood too you’re not loving it since the first one huh i love the feel i don’t know if I’m loving the results as much oh my gosh that feels so good yep yep that’s a fivewood 142 ball speed can’t can’t p throw this one out yet either nope all right david verse Goliath callaway versus Tour Edge which one first that’s up to you you already know what you like yeah let’s save Tour Edge so this is to let the cat out of the bag this is my current gamer right here and I love love it i think Callaway fairway woods are really underrated this year for sure as good as their driver is I think their fairway woods are even better so the Smart Face they it’s just straighter yeah like your toe balls won’t snap left on you well let’s see oh I sawed that one off did you see that yeah it’s your little fairway finder there huh yeah nothing wrong with that though just a high cut saw it off high cut that was me [Music] yeah there you go yes sir now this is the three high launch i could probably knock this down a little bit cuz it’s playing between like a It’s playing more like a four-wood it’s a little spinny honestly see look how straight this son of a gun is there we go yeah that’s fantastic this is the furthest and the straightest I think in the bunch for you for sure I think oh oh boy i tried to really get after one you try it yeah you’ll take that it feels hot it is hot it’s one of the hotter woods but you don’t sacrifice dispersion really I don’t think no what was that you said maybe it’s not for you the announcer’s jinx do you like the feel yeah it feels really good maybe maybe it that club just isn’t for you and I didn’t like them now granted I probably am hitting that the best because that’s my actual club yeah this is your gamer everything to the grip is dialed for me so and I didn’t like this these clubs all that much personally when we tested no you didn’t get along with the driver either and you’re not getting along with the fairway that’s weird then weird from year to year like some brands we just don’t get along with yeah cuz last year is with Callaway i hated the AI smoke paradigm hated it love the Elite this is the budget model last but certainly not least it is the least priced the Tour Edge here top line i think it passes the topline test like the carbon fiber matte black oh that looks good the face is cool you got a lot of the grooves and then the pyramid technology there yes now this is a sleeper club it really is really good i love that ball flight too it is a sleeper club i like how I said I never hit draws and every single one I’m hitting draws with that’s crazy dude i don’t hit draws talk to Oh talk to me about feel dude it feels phenomenal I think I think those fairways are the best thing that Tour Edge makes to be honest i was wondering honestly you’re you’re on to something there i think it is it’s the best thing they make yes um I was wondering why it was going so high this a 5wood so it’s a great ball fight for a 5wood dead pull but look at that nuked come on big fella stay tuned for a video coming soon because uh I call Trevor big fella cuz he’s 3 in taller than me 6’3 5’11 6′ depending on my shoes 6’5 no I was say I was saying I’m more than 3 in taller obviously the Ping G440 crowd favorite stz Max not really a crowd favorite but performed admirably put up a fight pxg Black Ops this thing is great for perimeter weighting i think what it is the other ones are just a little more stable mhm the ZXi very solid but again I just think not that as bad just better performers out there and a little small for me so that’s what we eliminated this so that gives us the Tour Edge Exotic East 725 tailor made Qi35 the title is GT2 the Cobra DS Adapt and the Callaway Elite for me uh my least favorite feeling one of the bunch but I would go Qi35 is number five really you qi35 is I I know my four and five and I know you disagree with my other choice hard so you okay with Qi35 being number five i was going to put it four so I’m okay i think these have better feel than here yep but that’s tough to take out because it’s very stable club too all right so number five Qi35 what are you going number four [Music] i think that smart face is just too good for you i I I hate it okay well there’s that yeah honestly and I and I I fit a lot of guys that hit this really well so I understand why it needs to be in the top five performs really well for people but in my ranking I just I think if dispersion is your one of your biggest things you want in a fairway i mean I mean the tape don’t lie this was my worst dispersion out of anything we hit what’s number three um I would think for me number three would be uh either the GT2 or the Tour Edge let’s go Tour Edge okay one shot everyone knows the rules okay if you hit the Tour Edge better we’ll we’ll go with Callaway at number four okay one shot which one do you want me to hit first well one’s a three and one’s a five let’s go here okay callaway Elite so I mean it feels good okay not bad let’s go off a dispersion instead of distance here got since they’re different clubs so that one you slung uh 40 yards offline okay uhoh it’s really slinging on you oh it’s going to be Callaway what if they’re both 40 no that’s 45 48 wow do you want me to try it yeah well so this would be number four save an organic one shot for you okay so this So Edge would be number four yeah let the record show last time we did one shot with Trevor Alex you can find the tape he just blew right through that and we didn’t do what he what the one shot came to anyway but so once again I’m right callaway is number three he’s right tour Edge is number four so we got Qi35 number five yep tour Edge Exotic 725 number four yep the Callaway Elite number three okay and you’re okay with that or are you putting Callaway Leap back in the bag by vetoing my four no I’m okay with that you’re okay with the three i think there’s a there’s an argument that if for the higher handicap the average Joe that that the Callaway Elite should be ranked higher than the GT the GT would suit better players yeah maybe that’s why I like it a little bit more too okay I already know where you’re going yeah well that’s cuz my gamer’s still in the bag you’re going 2-1 yeah but it’s your turn it’s your turn i would I would tend to agree with you really mhm this is going to be better for the average show than this so how are we going to oneshot you well I’ll still do it i want you to one-shot the last two the ones you just did mhm well I already agreed with you yeah but if you hit it worse the Callaway worse then the Callaway has to go to number four and tour edge jumps to number three okay we’re going off are the viewers okay with this i know a little bit of time has gone by trevor was way too nice about this order of one and two cuz it’s my order exactly we’re going off a dispersion here right why don’t we start with the tour edge oh yeah whoa what did you just hit that’s a Callaway i said we were starting with the tour edge how far off line is that i mean that’s on the white line i think it’s going to be a decimal point maybe one yard 2.1 yards less 2.1 yards okay I got to stick this a yard and a half let’s see it oh you you did that on purpose did you do that on purpose yeah yeah I did that on purpose just kidding i was going to say I’ve never seen you step through a wood shot like that just kidding 42 what 82 yards left okay one and a half yards just a little pressure now I kind of want to challenge myself and oh not a good strike but it’s kind of on center line it’s going left [Music] i did it what are the chances he said dispersion terrible he never said it had to go further than 155 how far did it go it carried 154 well okay so now we changed our order callaway number four boy when I hit that two yards offline yeah there’s no no chance yeah when I saw that one go straight in the air I was like “Oh no.” Okay so are you okay with that and you’re saying GT2 is number two number two phenomenal feel try it one more time phenomenal feel i just don’t know that like you said it’s going to be suited to less players than I don’t know which one I like the feel of better these two were the best feeling woods doesn’t it feel just solid feels so good let me try this now because I don’t remember which one I like the feel of better oh mis hit but man they feel close i was gonna land on the line too now this is an example what I’m talking about cuz these are one and two we didn’t rank either of their drivers high no especially the GTs and let me just say something for the commenters again for the viewers this top five you’re not going to go wrong really with anything in the top five or even if you brought in one of those ones that we eliminated already this ranking is going to be very much
