Are Range Balls Made of Gold? They Must be with These Prices

so let’s talk for a second about range balls right now I’m a firm believer that you really should just increase the price by $2 or $3 of the green fees and then just allow the range balls to be free at that point for everybody because I think you’ll make your money more that way uh but for the courses that still believe in charging for them let’s talk about something here i went to a course recently where we went in we wanted a range bucket we wanted to be able to warm up it was $10 for a bucket about this big okay which is highway robbery as far as I’m concerned the guy was wearing a ski mask when he told us that so we felt robbed for sure but then it got worse then we get over to where you pick up the range balls and there’s a you know a guest service attendant there and he looks at us dead in the eyes and goes “Yeah I don’t have any at the moment i’m sorry we haven’t had a chance to pick them up yet uh go inside and get a refund.” Guys please don’t take something as simple as range balls and just completely fumble the bag on it like just stop make it free

We discuss the absurdity of overpriced and unavailable range balls at golf courses. Charging exorbitant fees and then not having any balls available is unacceptable. Just make range balls free! #golf #golfrange #golfballs #golfcourse #golfing #golfproblems #golflife #golfcommunity #golfreview #golfexperiences

  1. I think there would have to be something where they’re only free if you have a tee time or something. Otherwise I would be there amber try day hitting free range balls and going home 😆

  2. I spent a lot of money on Range balls when I first got started last year just because I had to learn how to hit. It's crazy how much they charged me for balls that they reuse.

  3. I practice a lot at my local range and that's all the have, so I suppose they need to charge! 🤣 Still it's $16 for 120 balls. I'll hit 2 of those in a long range session (60-100 wedges).

I do play one course fairly frequently and it's an $8 charge on your green fee but it is all you can hit. They just have balls laying out on the stations at the range. I'm sure lots of folks just don't pay the fee 🤷‍♂️

  4. It’s crazy how the local muni shuts down the range at 6pm in the middle of the summer season. I could understand if it’s an insurance liability thing but come on, After 6pm in June/July/August is when most people are off work and it’s less hot. So you’re cutting off your revenue stream for the hours that could make you exponentially more revenue

  5. My local course is 20$ for 110 and 15$ for 85 as well as upping the price after 4pm because it’s cooling down but what I’ve noticed is that courses are turning their driving range to a action also having a bar and restaurant their like a top golf with screens and all of that

  6. i agree. rangeballs should be free because a warmup is crucial to your round. even if they give you 30 balls, it's enough.

  7. For how shitty range balls actually are, they should never be more than 10$ for like a medium bucket

  8. Imagine paying for a round of golf at 4:00 arrive at the course at 3:00 hit the range then go to the club house and the attendant says there’s no carts! After you paid for the cart already!!! Apparently they booked up all their carts and didn’t have enough for the 4:004:30 tee times. 6 ppl standing outside. Waiting. At 4:10 ppl coming off the 18 green had to take there bags off right there and the cart guy brought the cart to me. Keep in mind my tee time was at 4:00 on Father’s Day.

Prarie landing golf course in Geneva Illinois is truly a piece of junk management place. Let alone medium range balls $11.00
The round at twiglight rate was $80.00….. these courses are robbing us and ppl need to speak more about it!!!!!

AND they had the course jam packed 10 min interval tee times with ppl on our behinds and dragging in front of us. Truly a day for the books

  9. I pay $60 a month for a membership at my course and gives you a bucket of 100 balls every day, but that bucket costs $20 if you don’t have a membership

  10. Had this happen the other day. Me and a friend went. They only had 1 bucket left. So we were gunna split it. Got to the range. And there was no available room to hit from. So we said f it and played The course without paying. lol.

  11. We have a player club membership for $53 that gives us access to five golf courses around Long Beach, CA. It comes with a large bucket of balls; we get one a day. I definitely get my money's worth and then some 😂😂

  12. Range balls should be free as part of your round. Maybe a small bucket. No sense on hitting a large buckett before a round…

  13. My home coarse went up to $12 for a small bucket and $20 for a large. Their golf prices went up drastically as well. It’s no longer my “home” coarse. I haven’t played there yet this year, and may not.

  14. And I’m sorry, but if you’re gonna charge me $10 for 50 balls, they better be decent range balls. Not this bs yellow and white mix where half the balls are cracked.

  15. Range balls will be free soon
Automated robots will soon gather range balls then deliver than back to a “re-fill” point

The only thing charged will be “time on range”

So, $10 for 1 hour equates to $10/bucket but with a much better time value/dollar spent

  16. LOL, probably the dumbest think I've heard all day. You think it would be easier to get the range balls from the entire golf course?? You're killin' me Smalls.
