and i’ve put together my ultimate golf bag of 2002 starting with the driver i’ve gone with the tailor made r510tp holds a real place in my heart this one played this driver for about 3 years and i’ve seen some excellent results when i’ve been testing it it’s a little bit lower on ball speed than its modern day equivalent and producing a touch more spin but in terms of the looks and in terms of the feel and how straight i was hitting it i was seriously impressed here then when i went into fairway woods well back in my day in 2002 there was only one daddy of the fairway wood market and that was callaway and i’ve gone with the big birther steel head 3 great fairway wood and when i tested this up against a modern day equivalent the only real difference was around 3 or 4 mph of ball speed and i got some superb performance from that into the irons i went a little bit more game improvery there i’ve gone with ping and i’ve gone with the i3 size now of everything i tested this could potentially been the closest in terms of performance to its modern-day equivalent this was incredible how well these stacked up in terms of performance in every parameter from ball speed from spin from carry distance these have really held a lot of performance over the years and in the wedges i’ve gone for a bulky design of course i have from 2002 and it’s the 200 series got them in the raw finish and in testing against a modern day equivalent i was expecting to see a lot of spin difference i didn’t it was pretty tight launch angles and spin really retained incredibly well for a wedge that’s over 20 years old and finally in the putter while i treated myself i blew my budget and i spent £240 on a scotty cameron terrillium long neck now those of you watching will probably know it wasn’t from 2002 tiger made that famous in 1997 but i was still playing it in 2002 and that’s why i’ve chosen it soft feel incredible lovely soft edges to the shaping it’s a real classic now if you want to see more on these clubs head over to the golf monthly youtube site where i’ve got a full video
