Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood raised eyebrows on the final day of the Travelers Championship – by wearing the exact same outfit.
Fleetwood, who is looking to heal his $25 million heartache and is being fueled by an honest Ryder Cup admission, entered the final day at TPC River Highlands with the lead. It came after Amanda Balionis shared an astonishing admission he made before the tournament.
McIlroy, meanwhile, started nine shots back on the final day after being sent a $70 million jet reminder with a Phil Mickelson comparison. While McIlroy teed off before Fleetwood’s group, the pair were awkwardly both decked out in identical Nike gear.

Both wore the same white Nike polo and navy pants, with a blue, white and grey tri-colored belt. They wore slightly different Nike hats, with Fleetwood opting for the iconic tick with the brand name written underneath, and McIlroy’s featuring just the tick.
It was spotted by fans watching, with one writing on social media: “Pretty sure Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy are wearing the EXACT same outfit. Like, everything, polo, pants, hat, even the belt is the same”.
Fleetwood, who started three shots clear of playing partners Keegan Bradley and Russell Henley, got off to a shaky start. His lead quickly evaporated as he bogey’d three of the first five holes, but he settled to remain the frontrunner as Jason Day made a charge.
Speaking before his final round, Fleetwood joked about his quest for a first-ever PGA Tour win and his desire to get over the line.

“I don’t know, I’m on top of a lot of stat lines for people that haven’t won on the PGA TOUR, so to always to be a No. 1 at something is always nice,” he laughed.
“Yeah, of course I would love to win on the PGA TOUR. I think it’s like an element of your career that everybody wants, and I of course want it. I haven’t, this year especially I don’t feel like I’ve given myself – I’ve given myself like a back end chance a couple of times this year, but I’ve not been in contention.
“So this is like my first real chance, so I’m really excited about that and looking forward to it. Again, it’s easy to put pressure on yourself, and the longer things go on, the more people talk about it, of course they do.
“ But there’s also things that I’m very proud about as well, like my consistency, where I stand FedExCups and World Rankings and things like that. So there’s a lot to be happy about, but, you know, of course, I’m not going to, you know, be silly and say I don’t care about it, of course I want to win, and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.”
