Top Golf Courses in Greystones, Ireland
why is this game so As we continue to travel through Ireland we hit a credible 18hole golf course called Greystone Golf Club Now it’s a hidden gem but it’s a private golf club No tea times Sometimes it’s tough to get a tea time at these authorized clubs That’s us We are authorized We got the Okay No tea times Hey how are you So I was hoping if there’s a tea time today for one person Um let me see now I think the earliest I could get you out would be a bit later on That’s what it looked like online I I assume that um it was the case which is good if you you got any bite to eat upstairs or anything Yeah the kitchen’s open but uh the earliest I’m going to be able to get you out is 6:00 I think Oh It’s too off at 6 I probably just play only a few holes You only get nine in I’d say Yeah And is there a nine hole rate or anything like that Does uh Yeah it’ be like 20 Yeah I’ll wait I walked here so I don’t I’m kind of committed to play here Probably get out before then to be honest Hey I’ll go get a bite to eat I’ll kind of linger around for a little bit I I got to get some stuff anyway but I I just It looks like a beautiful course so I’m grateful just to get out and play four holes I’ll be happy You know if you come down maybe around half three back into me I should be able to get you out to be honest Two tea boxes here Going to cause some confusion but the guy was very clear Here it’s par three and we were lucky to get a tea time here at this membership golf course It’s because Harry Colt famous golf designer in 1895 built this course but he’s also known for some other major golf courses when he teamed up with George Crump to build a golf course in 198 called Pine Valley which we were lucky enough to stand outside of Headed back to Greystone Well this course was a magnificent golf club on our 10 golf courses around Ireland And that’s because you get picturesque backdrops of the Wikllo Mountains The course is in incredible shape And at the end of the video we’ll be adding my wall If I rule the course let me tell you we’d all be ain’t free Magnificent backdrops pretty decent green fees a wonderful walk to the train station of just about an hour And that’s what we like to do Affordable golf within the area as we continue our trip around Ireland So get on in And as we continue to look at what this golf course is going to offer it’s an independent golf channel That’s what we trying to do And we’re going to bring you each one of those holes through this 18 hole membership quote unquote but open to any visitor that’s willing to take the trip down there on the dart line and throw some darts Established in 1908 so over a 100red years of golf within this location It’s situated in the heart of Wikllo County which is quote unquote the garden of Ireland Now it also echoes other golf courses in Greystone like Greystone Golf Club which is a wonderful course and we hit that course as well I was fully established because the members at the Greystone Golf Club at the time 100 years ago were not able to get some tea times on a Sunday when they were looking to play their golf course So what do they do Well they built a new one The golf club is affiliated with the golfing union of Ireland in 1908 The Goff is also situated within 30 minutes from Dublin City and only an hour from the Dublin International Airport on the other side of the city a long history of the fine golfing tradition that dates back to Saturday September 18th 1909 when Harry Ferdan one of the great names in golf history played an extended match play with Irish champion Michael Moran Now Harry did win that match with only seven or eight clubs in his bag noted And after the match it was quoted that he drove like a lion and putt it like a lamp Major changes to the layout and updates soon to come It was advised how the greens and bunkers could be improved and also other suggestions that you could see the course today with Now in its recent history an investment of over €1.5 by the club members the upstairs has a RDER Cup room where it displays some of the history of the courses and also some memorabilia of some of the older golf uh players that we just listed Now most importantly we’re going to talk about the course You can see right off the bat look how green and luxurious this course is It’s bunkers are true It’s one of the better courses that we played the one out of 10 And we played a lot so far but this one’s up there And you can see right off the bat there’s just a lot to offer at going for the second shot and finding some trouble Doesn’t play too long And we’re going to get into those stats of the golf course Now from the back te’s the course plays 5,473 m or just under 6,000 yd at 5,986 yd Now you can see these bunkers are real tight Course is incredible shape The greens putt true There’s no excuses out here as stated but most importantly it’s just a great time with some good picturesque golf in the backdrops And it’s a little hidden Doesn’t feel like you’re that far from Dublin You’re still about I don’t know 30 minutes About €60 to play this golf course And it was still well worth it being one of the more expensive golf courses on this cheap golf course venture around Dublin area and also we went a little further than that It’s a fun golf course Definitely went at a time with suns lighting is perfect around 1:00 2:00 time frame You’re going to pay a little bit more for those time rates But most importantly it’s about €60 to play the golf course And the big question is is it worth it Now we’re going to give that 1 to 10 rating just a bit but before we do could be worth it And especially if you’re out 50 times for all like meant to be
