Lead Side Power Move | GolfPass
[Music] hi golf fans i’m Carolyn Pineer and today we’re going to talk about how you can naturally stop over swinging this is something that so many people struggle with and it’s something that is very hard to be felt and every time you pull up a video of your swing you look at it and you’re like “Oh my god I’m still swinging this far why am I still over swinging?” It doesn’t feel like it so my philosophy is always to teach you something that is natural that doesn’t require you to think a whole lot or to be super technical so let’s talk about the correct shoulder plane and how you can achieve that throughout your swing to make sure that you naturally stop over swinging without a whole lot of technical thought first things first we’re going to go into the setup and we want to make sure that we avoid a setup that can cause us to make it harder to have the correct shoulder plane and when I say the correct shoulder plane I mean a fairly I say fairly steep but not flat so a flat shoulder plane just to for demonstrations is this this would be a very flat shoulder plane that we want to avoid and a steep shoulder plane in this is extreme would be this right so we want to be really right in the middle there and you want you will see it will actually help you stop over swinging naturally because that’s how our bodies are built so people that overswing or tend to overswing quite a bit what happens in their setup they’re usually a bit upright and if you see my spine angle here it is really kind of straight up versus bend over and there usually is a lot of bend in the knees which allows us to do this right and we want to make sure we lessen the bend in the knees and we hinge from the hip and that creates my spine angle and I’m going to put my club behind me here to show you this my spine angle is right here so we don’t want the spine angle to be upright with my knees bent we want less knee bent with my spine angle nice and bent from the hips what this setup does now we are already in a tilted position and if I put my driver across my chest here and I swing back and I maintain that position that spine angle I’m just rotating almost feels like I’m rotating my left shoulder my lead shoulder a little bit over my trail foot that’s what it looks like from my perspective right here to make sure that shoulder stays under you don’t want that shoulder to go up and over because here you see what happened to my shoulder plane now it is very much flat and now we can really turn a long long ways right so we want to make sure that with this setup we’re now able to not over swing naturally and you’re going to feel your swing stop without you even having to try and stop it so let’s take a couple of practice swings making sure that we’re feeling that shoulder plane and that left shoulder over our trail foot our our lead shoulder over our trail foot shoulder goes under not over shoulder goes under not over yet it again under not over and you’ll see it’s very hard to overswing from that position the second piece to this that I really like to pay attention to is your lead knee and the lead knee being stable is also going to help you create that coil and that wind up so now if we’re combining that really nice setup with the bend at the hip and our left shoulder being over our our trail foot and now feeling like that left leg and knee and quad is engaged and is resisting i like to almost feel like I’m pushing this towards the target and you can use one or both of these tips combined it will work regardless for you play around with it and see what feels natural and best for you i like to focus on both to really create the biggest amount of coil tension and being able to stop my swing naturally and then really put all my power and my force into the golf ball so let’s hit a ball doing both of these things let’s focus on our setup right here and we’re going to bring our lead shoulder over our trail foot while we feel like we’re resisting with our knee that was absolutely hammered so you just saw how much power I was able to put towards the target into my ball and that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do if you try one of these positions if you try one of these tips and if you have any more questions on this please make sure to leave me a comment below i am very happy to answer it and I’m excited to see you guys on the next tip

Dumb you actually do turn level just from a forward bend position that you setup in you already have plenty of tilt built in your setup! You can see she can’t even make a 90 degree turn and she teaches for a living with her concept it’s improper
Great swing!!
Awesome video, thank you.
What smooth and beautiful swing.
Schönes swing Karo!
