   1 is allowed, you do not have to be standing upright to make contact

   2 is also allowed, the ball can make contact with any part of the head

   3 is not allowed, it would be a stroke penalty for hitting a moving ball, it would count as 3 strokes.

   3 is legal but 2 and 1 are not. 1 is illegal because even though he did not make contact he made an effort to hit the ball which counts as a shot and then he hit it again before the ball came to rest.
