this is the tea time golf pass tip of the week brought to you by QuickFix Golf darren A here QuickFix Golf and at QuickFix Golf we want you to play better golf now and the 2025 US Open is in the books oakmont Country Club those are the toughest greens you’ll ever putt on and boy did Tony Fenol struggle there’s a lot going on in his head a lot going on with his putting stroke he’s not sure which way is up or down so we’re going to take a look at his putting stroke and give you some ideas on how you can putt better and avoid some of the pitfalls that Tony’s going through and this is where Tony Fe now is nowadays with his putting he’s resorted to hitting it with one hand when you’re hitting a putt with one hand you are in a lot of trouble you don’t know what’s going on anything could happen so this was a stroke that he did during the memorial a couple of weeks ago here’s where Tony’s at today you can see the toe of the putter is off of the ground and what that’s going to do is it’s going to push us away from the golf ball as well as encourage a stroke that moves on an arc with face rotation and when we do that the element of timing starts to creep in there this tends to complicate things it’d be a lot easier if we can just have more of a conventional setup and move the putter in a straight back and straight through fashion very similar to like this let’s take a look at Steve Stricker here he does the opposite of Tony Feno he gets the heel of the putter off of the ground and by doing this you’re going to be able to get your eyes over the golf ball and allow yourself to swing the putter straight back and straight through in my opinion Tony needs to look at some video when he was putting well stick to the basics and don’t go down the rabbit hole that Tony went down and you’ll be playing better golf now so there you have it if you could set your putter down properly it’s going to put you at the right distance from the golf ball and it’s going to put your hands in the correct position to make a stroke that goes straight back and straight through with minimal face rotation make sure you got your tea time golf pass to get the great deals at your local courses and if you found this tip helpful hit the like button and subscribe for more every week see you next time
