Leeds Rhinos co-captain Cameron Smith says he and his team mates will respond in the right manner after a set back at St Helens.
Smith came off the bench in his 150th Super League game, all for the Rhinos, and he admitted he was proud to have reached the milestone but was disappointed Leeds could not maintain their recent good run of form on their visit to the Totally Wicked Stadium.
[Music] cam 150th Super League game not the way you want the result to go um but you made a real impact there when you came off the bench in that first half yeah not not the way I wanted it to go um first of all I’m very grateful to have made it 250 Super League games you know for for this club um I’m extremely proud to wear the jersey but yeah not not the way I wanted it to go um you know we beat oursel way way too many errors um you know we couldn’t come up with any field position cuz we couldn’t keep hold of the ball and um you know Saints were Saints were good and some night some nights that’s that’s how it goes it’s hard to to have that level of consistency every week that’s what we’re striving to get to yeah definitely um you know we’re striving to be up there and you know we’ve put in you know great performances throughout the season already so um we’ll move on quickly from this and um and on to the next game that first half um they got a couple of penalties early on do you feel at that stage we we could we could get ourselves back into the game yeah we we can all we can always get ourselves back into the game and um we just need to take um look after possession a little bit better uh and and couple of penalties coming out of red zone hurt us early doors like you’ve just said so uh you know we get on top of that and um we’ll be all right and chances Ryan Hall that big chance for him to broke down field some nights when it’s going with you that that that we get over those tries yeah like you said um sometimes it’s it goes your way and sometimes it don’t are these sprinklers going to get me but yeah um another night all he scores it if not you know we move on and we just defend the set and uh yeah we just want good enough uh Ryan Long got that try at the start of the second half we seem to have some real momentum the bench in particular yourself uh Sam and and Tom made a real impact coming off the bench you could get that momentum going yeah yeah um we spoke before the game that we’d come on and make an impact and I thought we did um obviously I’m I’m I’m working around my role a little bit at the minute coming off the bench instead of starting so um I’m just trying to make an impact in any way I can and uh I thought I did that tonight back at home next week against Leah another side that’s vying for those playoff positions it’s going to be going to be a big one again yeah every every game’s a tough game for us I feel um you know we’re back at home uh in front of the South Stand um you know it’s going to be really loud uh and really good game and uh you know we’ll be looking forward to it
