one PGA Tour star went to extreme lengths to curb his attitude on the course pga Tour professional Ryan McCormack taped his mouth shut on the corn ferry tour to try and stop getting angry while playing mccormack 33 tried the unusual method during round two of the club car championship after a series of outbursts mccormack is far from the first golfer to let his frustrations get the better of him in a public setting in recent weeks clubs have been booted and many famed stars have let their tempers flare in front of huge audiences over the years the New Jersey native claims that he has tried about everything to stop himself from getting angry and shouting on the course he cut a piece of tape to the shape of his mouth before wearing it in Savannah Georgia having a not so fun time this year on the golf course pretty angry and mad so I figured I’ve tried a lot of things and I just figured I’d just shut myself up mccormick said so I put tape over my mouth at this point I’ve tried about everything i’ve read a lot of books i’ve talked to people just too angry on the golf course so I have run out of ideas and I thought about the tape thing a couple weeks ago unfortunately came down to that today mccormack played the entire day with tape covering his mouth but the experiment did not appear to yield the desired results on the scorecard he shot an even par 72 one over for 36 holes and failed to make the cut it has been a disappointing start to 2025 for McCormack who has not made the cut twice and withdrew twice in seven events and the 11-year pro admitted that he was not proud of having to resort to the tape and was unsure whether it made any difference to his behavior
