oh no oh my gosh that was so perfect [Music] what’s up you guys welcome back to the channel today we’re out at Lookout Mountain and I’m going to play Nine Holes it rained all day yesterday all night last night it was still trying to rain this morning rain days surprisingly have sometimes been my lowest rounds i do like playing golf in the rain but it changes the game a little bit so I’m going to walk you through that what that looks like course management the mental game and kind of like show you what a professional golfer is thinking about on a rainy day versus a perfect day all right so let’s go get it normally when I start these videos I don’t have any warm-up so I did get one warm-up hole i have hit one driver one pitching wedge and two putts but that’s it it’s all I give myself out here hopefully it stays out of that tree line i’ve never really hit it that far right but I’m sure it’s good since everything is wet out here everything’s going to be shorter which we know how much I love that for myself also a lovely shout out to Julia my new filmer on the camera today she’s doing great all right let’s go we crushed that ball cut the corner this is like crazy i mean it’s a par five we have 130 in let’s make our birdie or eagle on camera and uh start this round off strong [Music] see that’s pretty short i feel like that is a little bit longer i don’t know what I shot but biggest thing when you’re playing in the rain is taking your towel with you onto the green i hate having to carry around my towel but when it’s raining out you have to another pro tip if you don’t have a towel and you have a couple clubs you always put a tea down and you rest your club on top of the tea so that the handle does not get your grip does not get wet little chip here i have my 60 i’m going to try and land it just onto the green open club face let’s ship this in fight carried it just a little bit further than I wanted but still not bad got to see the line on the way through downhill breaker it’s going to move to the right this is a putt I should be able to make this is what’s keeping me off tour okay that is not a good part 138 in or whatever it was and I am walking away here it is all right 123 it’s my nine iron will that get you there i think let’s hit the eight because everything’s going to hit and like everything’s so wet it’s going to plug we’re gonna club up choke down really good shot that might be too good actually far sit oh I think we’re pin high see how that did not move one little inch you have to all carry it’s all carry all right let’s go make a birdie baby okay we have a birdie opportunity yeah can she deliver that’s the real question it’s like a 15footer pretty good opportunity here oh my god you had it just have to hit it all right another par we are even going into hole three wow so I can keep my score on here too we should definitely be doing this okay we didn’t play hole one hole two hole two is a par five done then I had a par okay that’s pretty cool i like that all right we have this bar four i like this bar four i don’t know why it’s just kind of straight not too long i always play it pretty well so anywhere down there in the fairway is good here little fade big surprise big surprise but that’ll be fine 156 to the pin again it’s all carry i think I’m going to hit my five iron we’re so much shorter here than we normally are like normally I have like 125 130 in we’re like 20 yards shorter than what we would normally are but look at this i mean this is soaking wet oh oops all right we’re going right at the pen no big deal and see I’m going to fix it be nice to the course it’ll be nice of you taking both my wedge and putter just in case definitely putt it if you’re an amateur 56 i’m going to keep it low and keep it on the ground as long as possible so I’m going to carry it about halfway there and then let it release the rest of the way oh I carried it too far too far too far too far how many of you right now are saying “You should have putt it too you should have putt it too.” Cuz I’m telling myself that right now putting is just a higher probability almost always dang dang it dang it dang it so close all right first buggy of the day so we’re one over going into hole quattro [Music] part five it says I have 415 i should be able to birdie this hole honestly it’s pretty short it’s really short 415 what the heck i would love to shoot under par today i need it aiming right for the center of the section where there’s no bunker lost my balance on that one stay out of the bunker i lost it did you see it yeah we lost it it’s probably over those bunkers cuz I hit it so dang far all right a moment to be upset and then I have to be over it i’m going to take my five iron because the goal right now is to get it back in play how did this happen i’m going to just try and get through these trees and back in play i actually could probably go up but I’m not going to i’m going down okay okay wow it’s so muddy oh no oh my gosh oh my gosh so so perfect if I do say so myself literally there is one tiny little gap through that tree and it went right through it thank you golf gods oh also you guys I haven’t showed you i got some teeth gyms i know you guys are already making fun of me in the comments 74 yards clubbing up i’m going to hit my 52 to make sure I get it up there again this is not going to release at all i mean it’s a wedge i shouldn’t release but you know what I mean just carry it all the way there see how muddy that is muddy ball sit oh shoot i just went off the back what the heck well I guess I shouldn’t have clubbed up oh well making this par five a lot harder on ourselves today the good the bad the ugly you get to see all that on this this channel and here is where my ball ended up i think because I pulled it off that lie and I clubbed up I just really shot myself in the foot so all right we’re just making this hole a lot more interesting 60° in hand my goal is not even the green it’s getting it up on this ledge of the grass and it’ll release a little bit i really got nervous about hitting that i don’t know why why would I be nervous about that m right downhiller i’m putting this one okay not an easy putt especially not an easy putt for part settle settle settle i I All right take our medicine walk away with a bogey no big deal nothing hurt okay this is a little bit about course management is also about the mental game and for me my inner caddy my mind has to be telling myself really good thoughts so that’s what I’m going to do nothing’s hurt we’ve got some really good holes coming up we still got this it’s early 142 on the dot so 7 iron do I glove up um where that pin is I kind of feel like I do need to club up just because I’ll carry I’m not going to get the kick on and if I land on that like right side it’s not going to kick up it’ll kick back into the bunker so I’m going to hit my sixiron and choke down a little bit i do really like this hole but I normally like it from like the furthest back i also don’t know how I ended up playing the yellows i never play the yellows but somehow that’s where we’re at today oh I almost hit that bird oh my god I would be so upset that is such a good shot okay man part of me feels like my iron game today is on point and it’s the wedges that are not in the putter but that’s another story i like that shot okay birdie opportunity we’re having a lot of birdie opportunities you know I’m staying positive after those couple of bad holes but we’ve got this i’ve got like a 25 footer 25 30footer for birdie still a birdie opportunity it’s going to break down to the right just slightly boom baby yeah all right so now we’re one over making up for that last bogey it’s just no surprise that the birdie I make is a long 25 ft putt no surprise all right you see the positive mindset it really does work [Music] you guys know it’s my least favorite hole in golf the hardest hole on the course but it is one of the prettiest so we’re I don’t know where those yellow TE’s are so we’re going to tee off where I normally tee off which is back here you guys know this hole very well it is a birdie hole it’s either like a bogey double hole or it’s a birdie hole you never know that was a pure swing that was really good slight slight fade i’m okay with a slight fade all right right down the middle let’s take that momentum and keep it going threewood in hand i don’t know how far we are um but 3-wood we’re going to go over the desert straight ahead like on the left side set us up for a good wedge in this was literally the perfect drive all right that should be perfect over there that’ll be like the perfect shot in woo all right keeping this going also my thumb Do you guys ever have this i call it golfer thumb i don’t know what it actually is but if I don’t have my thumb off to the side and I keep it here straight down the shaft a little too too much it starts to hurt so bad cuz I think it’s just all that pressure and then I get like this tense anyways do you guys have that let me know we have 54 yards i could hit a full 60 and probably get there but I’m a little nervous about that so I’m going to club up i’m going to hit my 56 instead just to be safe oh I got right under it be good be good be good okay woo i got real nervous there for a second i really got underneath that but I think we’re actually too far so we’re fine go go go it’s in the hole it’s in the hole if you just hit it slightly harder dang it dang it dang it i was a little worried about blowing it by but we’ll take that par we’re still one over [Music] he’s looked at me like idiot or for straightforward i would like to keep this drive a little more on the left side cuz last time I played on the right side and it kind of just like blocks you out a little bit so to have the best angle I’d rather be on that left side personally my back is a little tight today so any good swing I’m going to take oh I pulled it i was worried about fading it and I pulled it be over that oh dang i think we’re in it i think we’re in that fairway bunker literally like the only problem on this hole is that fairway bunker and I found it it’s all right get our fairway bunker practice in we’re in the bunker going to the beach beach each let’s go get away i’m 127 i’m going to club up well I guess this is basically the right club i’m going to hit my eight iron fairway bunkers are all about you’re picking it you’re not hitting behind it like you are in a greenside bunker so for me I play a little bit forward in my stance so off of a my front foot and then you think about not really spinning like turning backwards you’re just arms and then one motion through if that makes sense that’s pretty much it sit sit sit oh shoot i hit it way too thin oh that pin’s in the back dang that was the shot that’s what you want to do you want to pick it and hit it clean but dang i hope that’s okay i hope I can find that also rake your bunkers you guys i don’t know if you all saw Phil Mickelson’s tweet recently but he’s right people are lazy now they don’t want to have to rake the bunkers and it really does impact the next player now granted most of us are not playing seriously so if you end up in a footprint it’s like no big deal just move it out but break your bunkers this tree is a little scary i don’t know if it’s cuz it’s wet but it’s really dark and scary make sure there’s no spiders near me i’ve really never seen much of spiders in Arizona it’s the best thing about it here goal: Get it to like this dry patch over here i’m going to let it release on its own get it on the green so we have a chance at saving par i got to say you guys that’s pretty dang good that’s pretty dang good out of there come on i’ll take that every time you guys come on that is a freaking stellar par save and that is what we call a great par all right so we’re still one over going into this next par for me we’re at the rabbit’s den right that’s what it’s called yeah no rabbit’s nest and there’s a rabbit right there what are the odds part three you guys you know this part three well a shorty a real shorty but sometimes these are the ones that get me especially like today when my wedges are not on par but this is its moment to shine this is the time 68 yds that’s crazy we’re going to hit my 52 or 56 sorry i also never know like should I tee it up when I’m hitting such a short wedge or no you know cuz like you usually don’t tee it up and sometimes I feel like I get under it but it’s just so hard for me to actually get myself to not te it up on a par three so we’re going to but we’re just tee it really low go go see it’s the freaking Oh wait sit it’s the tea i I have to stop teeing it up okay someone remind me next time i’m not teeing it up okay because then I’m hitting it too high on the club face i’m hitting it up here instead of down here all right this actually is not a bad shot because you know if you go long here you’re really screwed so I have an uphill chip i am chipping this this I would tell most people to chip i have my 60 in hand just cuz I’m carrying everything too far today and my goal you know pick a spot and then you’re only looking at that spot you’re no longer looking at the pen you’re picking that spot where you want to land it so I’m going to pick my spot see my spot and then that’s what I’m looking at the rest of the time oh it just climbed the face too much that was not a very good chip that is a great freaking putt i was really wanting that so that we can be one over going into I believe our last hole and uh try and make a birdie on the final hole to be even par that is I’m proud of myself i’m proud of myself for that one [Music] all right you guys we’re on the last hole um we have this par4 we’re one over i’m looking to make a birdie all right so let’s get it so everything kicks down to the right as we know here what a beautiful hole by the way what a nice finishing hole for us today i’m just going to aim down the left side just to give myself a little bit of grace hold it just slightly but that should be okay it’s going to get a big kick yep right in the middle of the fairway right in the middle of the fairway might have a good little smack mark on it but it’ll be fine all right we’ve got 102 we do have a little slight breeze behind us this is kind of a risky shot because it’s right the pin’s right in the front and everything releases so I have to carry it there but my 9 iron I just think is going to be too much and I think I have to hit my pitching wedge oh it’s so risky though it’s like Well with the little breeze it might help it is my pitching wedge shot like yardage but because of the wetness I’m just worried it won’t jump up and it’ll actually roll back down there get up as soon as I hit that I knew that was not getting up dang it dang it dang it we’re going to have to chip in for that birdie it’s all right crazier things have happened especially on this channel all right all right that’s what we got we got to make that for par to finish one over dang i really wanted to birdie this last hole i don’t know if I’ve ever birdied this hole to be honest it’s not an easy birdie hole that’s for sure dang that is not a good finishing hole whatsoever have to walk away two over today you know under these conditions I will say like I’ll take it although I definitely do like playing golf in the rain so two over hopefully you guys learned something about the mental game about course management and let me know what you
