Are the Gulf Mud Crabs back?

It’s been over a year since I’ve gone mud crabbing in the Gulf of Carpentaria — not since Cyclone Megan hit and wiped out the season. In this episode, I’m heading back to King Ash Bay to reunite with my mate Ash, a commercial mud crabber, for a proper crabbing mission. We kick things off with an epic barramundi fishing session before joining Ash on his morning crab run to see if the mud crabs are finally back. it’s been over a year since I’ve done a proper mud crabbing mission not since Cyclone Megan rolled through and drowned the place wiping out the mud crab season across the Macarthur River region but the big question now are the mud crabs finally coming back in to find out I’m teaming up with a golf mud crabber ash and I have been mates for over a decade these days he works the river as a commercial mud crab fisherman and we’re going to be spending a wild few days together this episode includes the most epic Baramandi fishing session I’ve ever had and then we get serious joining Ash on his crab run the following morning to see if the river tells a different story this year but first I’ve got 1,000 km of road ahead from where I live in Darwin to King Ash Bay Fishing Club in the Gulf of Carparia and I’m looking for a spot to set up camp for the night i am a little bit behind schedule today folks but we should still get there before sunset that’s what I’m hoping for anyway i’ve traveled about 700 km so far down the Stewart Highway and onto the Carpentaria Highway got maybe 200 km to go to get to the spot that I want to camp at tonight um as soon as I get there we’re going to put the rooftop tent up going to light the fire so we can cook my dinner and then crack a beer and enjoy the evening so I’m like a Cunningham come along with me this is going to be great fun [Music] [Music] a little bit worried now the last uh rest stop that I passed maybe 50 km ago had bloody six caravans there so I’m hoping I’m only what 12 minutes it says I’m away to where I want to be i just really hope no one’s there anyway about 10 minutes and we’ll know as I said I don’t have a plan B or any even any plan B i would get to the next spot in the dark so oh there’s no caravans there’s no motor homes oh that’s a relief oh I get so anxious over the stupidest things i think I’ve just found a Yeti cooler oh no just pulled up at the spot and someone’s big yeti king Ashbay Fishing Club Easter Fishing Classic 2025 Champion Estri i should be able to track down whoever that is and I should be able to return that to him that’s like a That’s probably a $200 bloody water bottle and using my advanced detective skills we’re able to track down the owner and reunite him with his yeti still got plenty of sunlight still got plenty of sunlight because I don’t want to be cooking in the dark in case the mozzy’s come out real thick i’ve actually got a little fire pit here and a little bit of wood around already i wouldn’t expect anyone else to come here tonight if anyone was camping here tonight they would be they’d be here by now anyway probably time to show you the Sanhe the Kalbari 2 going to cut this together fairly quickly because it’s only a very quick process the only frustrating part about the ladder is it takes too long to set up all done it’s as simple as unlatch and lift it up up it goes that’s in once we’re in there’s only two steps in here this bar that’s lying across here we lift it up and we push it out and then lastly we use these poles here just to hold it in place just unlatch click it on tighten him up that’s it we are 100% set up so I’ll probably give you a bit of a tour uh maybe in the morning and look at that within what 3 minutes or less we’re 100% set up first things first it’s probably time to start getting that firewood together get that fire going okay we’re making progress there’s obviously been a lot of bush fires around a lot of grass fires every dry season we have them around here and all that smoke that’s not clouds most of that out there is smoke that’s the sun trying to push through the smoke and it just just creates the most incredible incredible looking sunsets that’s coming along nicely let’s talk about dinner i literally raided the fridge this morning still a bit frozen but I found some burger patties in the freezer i precooked some onion found some crusty burger sauce that’s been sitting in the fridge for 3 months barbecue sauce cheese and bread i knew I’d be arriving late so I just wanted to have something that’d be really easy to cook so it’s almost like a a cheeseburger but as a sandwich sort of thing so I might have a uh what do you reckon a double I’ll go a double cheeseburger for dinner mozies have started mozzy’s have started to come around fairly thick oh this is what it’s all about big drive pull up got me penthouse set up behind me got the fire going beautiful sunset there’s probably or 80 to 100ks to the next human from where I am probably at a a cattle station or something like that down the road oh there are a lot of bloody mozzies though all right direct flame just over the the edge of the coals there yeah now we’re talking bloody beautiful yeah the phone does a pretty good job of making things look brighter than what they are but it’s getting pretty dark out here got the lights in the car so those lights will help a little bit yeah you wouldn’t believe it it’s turned out perfect the mosquitoes they came in so thick for like 20 minutes completely gone now so I’ve been just listening to a bit of Theo podcast just sitting here having a couple of tollies couple of beers okay bit of an update it’s time to serve dinner i’ve melted the cheese on the burgers there’s the onions the sauces pre-buted the bread oh yeah these lights are attracting the bugs so bad so I got to act really quickly here that’s him there the double-decker double cheeseburger camping style out in the Northern Territory Outback oh I’m excited well good morning folks from the very very cozy rooftop tent there is not a single insect in here at the moment um so these things have done their job perfectly overnight uh you can mount your ladder on the sides um and you can climb out the side my car is a little bit different um so I’ve got my ladder at the back here which opens up at this hatch here yeah so if you are interested in the Sanhe rooftop tents this one’s the Calbari 2 you need to get in touch with Vicoff Road uh so when I ordered mine uh I reckon it arrived at my place in Darwin about well 6 days later so it was very quick and efficient process so they can ship Australiawide so I sleep diagonal i’m 6′ three um and I’ve got very very large feet size 15 US feet and uh yeah so I’m diagonal if I was straight up and down my toes hit the end which is a little bit frustrating but if you were just a normal size couple you could have a couple laying sleeping in here very comfortably but I am a very large human so yeah this is absolutely perfect for me if you were going to be solo in it like me I reckon you could be up to 6’6 and you could still fit in here diagonally so that’s the Calari 2 rooftop tent and I’m going to head out there now and hopefully not get absolutely smashed by mosquitoes [Music] [Music] well there’s no real rush this morning but I could potentially be ready to leave in about 5 minutes i reckon it’ll only take a few minutes to pack down the rooftop tent and over here everything’s already completely packed up from last night’s dinner so we might just enjoy the sunrise and head off well that’s obviously east i’ll give you one guess which direction we’re traveling so for the next couple of hours we’re going to be looking straight into the sun but that’s all right we’ll just take it easy beautiful time of the day rooftop tent is all packed up only took a few minutes don’t knock it till you’ve tried it cans of coffee it’s not going to be the best coffee you’ve ever had but I really don’t mind them very convenient we’re on the last little leg of the trip here 20 km of dirt road this is the road into King Ash Bay Fishing Club and uh after the uh massive works they did on this road last year it’s now oh just so much better than it’s been in years gone by um yeah I’m up the top section at the moment this section usually would be very corrugated i can see a few small corrugations but I’m going 80 km an hour very comfortable um couple of potholes 2 years ago my voice should be shaking at the moment going with the bloody with the corrugations but uh it’s bloody beautiful well here we are folks we made it welcome to King Ash Bay Fishing Club so I used to live here out of King Ash Bay my wife and I moved to the Northern Territory in 2013 we moved to King Ash Bay and uh we lived here for 6 years I think before moving to Darwin where we started our family we decided that this wasn’t where we wanted to raise babies okay we finally here at King Ash Bay although full disclosure I’ve been here for about uh 8 hours there’s Young Boy rocking up we got Russell over here i think uh the big lumberjack was over here oh he must be doing wee wee somewhere in the long grass over here going to go have dinner at Big Pete’s house tonight good morning sir hello sir oh what’s going on here Big Pete wow hello Angelo good morning if you’ve been watching my videos for a while you’ll know the golden rule don’t overdo it on the first night and every single time we seem to break it so rather than make you sit through a bunch of blurry midnight nonsense we’re skipping straight to the next day getting ready to head down the river to the barge [Music] little bit of fuel mate and after a few big days it’s finally time to hit the water good morning sir good morning sir permission to come aboard sir negative thanks so this is the MacArthur River in the Gulf of Carparia this is my home away from home my happy place but for Ash he spent most of his life here it’s half an hour or so down the river to his barge where we’ll be spending the night [Music] indy perfect good for audio quality it’s been a long time since you and I have done a trip like this i reckon 2 years ago what got a cheeky few beers on ice a couple of rods set up 30 or 40 minutes I’ll start casting off the front here it’s not the best for filming usually have a pretty good time here at night off the front of the house boat plenty of barrers they seem to just love that light hard body lure little dazzler for a master bait and a uh Barammani party mix available on my website that one’s a bit of an old one now but I’d be a guarantee it’ll still catch bar just been watching a bit of Netflix kicking back little sit rep out the backyard oh yeah beautiful absolutely beautiful out here little bit of a breeze so there’s no bugs that could all change very quickly obviously as that wind drops into the night all fueled up mate power bill’s been paid mate perfect okay we got the chest cam running i got a camera up there um I just had one cast and hooked up to a probably an 80 cm bar it was on the Dazzler so I thought I better get me cameras going and see if we can get a barrerow during the daytime they love that anchor rope it was about there where I landed it yep oh that seems good let the little ones go mate oh I haven’t seen him yet it’s so hard to fish off the front of this boat bro oh yeah be 50 oh get out oh Ash’s got the net net net what am I going to do here just bring it with me yeah I’ll try under the Okay I’m going to I’m perfect oh yeah he’s in oh he got him free ball okay you got this oh yeah man there you go nice and silver too crazy silver we’re just talking about dinner weren’t we first time I’ve got to use the Jabus pliers usually Ash hides them from me there you go wow wow wow wow wow Dazz what are you doing to me that was another very good fish too oh three barrow in three casts okay um I’m just going to just as I can I’m going to swap to this lure only reason is because I’m lazy and this this Barammani party party mix lure only has a single hook so when I get the fish in it’ll just be a lot easier to unhook the fish anyway let’s see if we can Yeah there you go that’s That’s the spot that’s the spot let’s see if they’re interested in this yep yep fish on forecast four bar what’s going on Ashley what is going on so this time we are on the Wonderlust my favorite rod which I’m sort of high sticking at the moment there we go he’s in the net in the net finally got your first bar Mikey oh he’s inhaled it has he wow he’s gone i don’t want to talk these lures up too much because uh I hate packing them yep there we go there it is yeah tiny bit smaller 59 cm baramundi 60 cm baramundi off he goes these guys are obviously in the mood for feeding oh yeah it’s not even a good time yet oh thank goodness i got to cast him without a barrel oh gone come on Dazzer our mate Big Pete was meant to come down with us tonight but he decided to stay home instead well Big Pete this is what you’re missing out on mate having the the best time ever casting off the front of the house boat here getting bar probably every third or fourth cast watch this i’ll get one for you right now yep that’s the spot that’s the spot few little twitches for you oh yep yep there it is ah spat it bust mate no he’s still there he’s still got him yeah there you go Pete we’re having a bit of good fun here oh that scared the crap out of me did you see me jump you were videoing oh oh oh oh that was the biggest jolt like when it grabbed it it like you heard the buff lucky never had them heart attack tablets Froggy gave you increases the risk of heart attack and stroke thanks Froggy drinking oh two big bar come and swipe it one went Oh right there i’m thumbing it at 75 i’m still thumbming it i haven’t given him anything oh he’s still green he’s still green but we’re going to take him there we go oh yeah she’s just sitting there watching he hasn’t even had a cast i’ve caught um What are we up to six barrel pretty small i’ll wait till the fishing gets good yeah right dazzy you have looked after me today mate that lure in 25 minutes has got me a heap of baramundi off we go straight back in all right i said that was going to be my last barrel for a while but I’m going to have to get one more come on what happened is he going again no no no no he rolling it another one took it what a different one a little a little bit smaller but yeah so what we Ash and I you probably heard us both go “Oh yeah cuz uh a barrow came right up and had a little sniff at it and then yeah another one just came up and sniped what’s happened here?” Uhoh stabbed me the bugger how many bar is that mate i’ll have to look back at the footage to count it okay one more bar and I’m retiring and I mean it this time oh man I’m com yep oh dude oh bastard him bugger all right I’m still going to get one more not quit until I get one more barrel that one was pretty decent yep yep there you go yep in the net from hook up to net that was pretty good yeah yeah cool dude dude or you tangle yourself oh hello sir hello sir how you going young boy too many bar of money for you here mate too many i catch maybe 10 so far do you want me to catch one for you right now okay you talk to Ash give us three or four casts yep yep we got one there you go young boy see if we can land him that’s my last baramund of the night i’m not fishing anymore we’ve had some pretty good nights here but this is ridiculous so easy to catch tonight sometimes you can be down here and do bloody 100 casts to get a barer but tonight it’s more like a bar every sort of third cast I’d say what do you reckon young boy yep not bad you You want me to keep it for you we keep it or we throw it we just throw it back throw it back he’s got like bent bent things oh he doesn’t have a tag does he look how bent that dorsal is last bar of the night i come back tomorrow night anyway okay see you mate oh man a little bit of sweat going on how many minutes 42 and a half well closer to 43 minutes a very quick Baram Monday session 43 minutes and uh I must have landed 10 got hits and hooked up to dozens um look if you if you’re going to come up to Kash Bay or anywhere anywhere in the Northern Territory and go baramundi fishing I wouldn’t really expect it to be quite like that this is just one of those uh freak occurrences where it was just incredible the light does attract bait fish which obviously the the baramundi do like so if you’re willing to go out at night under lights it can be can be quite good which uh we saw that now but it’s not usually that good that was uh that was pretty special i think we got some lamb chops for dinner see if we can get the fry pan going cuz I think we got a big morning tomorrow i’m going to go out and do the uh crab run you probably haven’t seen mud crabbing content from me for quite a while bloody cyclone Megan last year wrecked everything for a while not many crabs last year but uh yeah so mud crabbing in the morning i’ll see you guys then all [Music] right folks future Mikey here back at home in Darwin uh just want to let you know before we start mud crabbing I am going bear with me uh it’s how I paid the bills let’s go see if we can get some mug grabs [Music] four or five minutes from the house boat and we’re already at his first pot oh empty one you just tell by the color yeah empty yep first keeper he’s okay under size or just in no just in ash can pretty much tell by just looking at it but he’s got his little measure he’s uh made up there just in just touching yep which is all you need perfect in the box in the box mate so as Ash goes along he’ll check the pot rebait the pot throw it back in obviously slide the all the crabs that he’s going to keep into this box if I was a really good mate I would have learned how to tie mud crabs and uh I could sit here and tie while he’s while he’s doing the run but I’m a bit of a jerk he’s no Anthony he’s no ant tie for you he’s the junior buffalo oh it’s been so long since I’ve been on this boat doing a crab run i forgot the only rule on the boat which is hold on always hold on mate yeah yeah learn a driver oh big cod black spot black spot cod excellent eating let him go back yeah there’s no reason why you couldn’t have kept that and used it as bait you allowed to do that yeah could have just a look at him feels all right n good no not the best quality no you can see how slow he is yeah okay so he wouldn’t he wouldn’t survive the trip to Darwin and then he’s in there but he’s just a little bit soft you push in there a little bit soft see push up in here you’ll see it here really easily yeah right yeah so you can push that in so a recreational fisherman like he could he’s allowed to keep it but it’s it’s just not going to be the best quality no no good to eat no no good to eat under size and under size oh give them free feed so they get fatten up ain’t Yeah I mentioned it’s been a long time since I’ve done a a mud crabbing video with uh with Ash or the Mad Mullet or anyone like that the commercial boys that um have been working around here um the reason being is last year we had uh two cyclones uh really close together which totally flooded the area and it made the crabbing last year absolutely terrible um so I haven’t brought you any mud crabbing content for a long time since the last mud crab video i’ve probably got 10 or 15,000 new followers so uh we’re probably going to go through some of the basics of uh how to test the crabs what happens to the crabs once they’re caught from here and how they get that they get trucked to Darwin and sent all around Australia things like that so if you’ve been watching the videos a long time there might be a bit repetitive for you where we’ve sort of covered things before oh yeah catfish this one looks all right yeah definitely worth having a look at him so while you see how Ash is holding it underneath there firstly most importantly it can’t bite him there um and secondly he’s able to use the tips of his fingers and push down in just on this little six-pack here and uh that’s one of the markers that he uses to see if the crab is full um it’s not the only one because you can it is possible to have a hard crab that might not be full yeah so here like he’s not 100% no so like he’s hard there hard on the top but that middle one is a little bit soft and then again if you check it under under the carropus there you can see it’s a little bit soft so that one there like for a wreck guy maybe you’d eat that one but I was So you and I wanted to have that for dinner like that that could be fine tonight yeah but you’re not going to send that off to market no cuz the price is for Yeah for That’s not It’s not a grade it’s not It’s not good quality no there’s no point keeping it no cuz in two weeks time he’ll be full yeah yeah this one here he’s good he’s really hard and you see how he’s a lot quicker too yeah yeah he’s lively he’s He’s clean he He’s that darker yeah he He just looks like a good crab this one too he’s good too unreal all right well that was a decent pot two keepers from that one yeah so if we’re if we’re keeping score folks that’s three pots checked three keepers so this is nothing like the deadliest catch that you see over in uh in Alaska in the Bearing Sea there where they get sometimes it is when the mad mullet’s here yeah I know you guys are going to in the comments ask about mullet so I’m just going to cover it right now um yeah so Mullet’s not crabbing here at the moment he’s over in Queensland uh he’s not in jail don’t panic he’s just uh he’s going back over over to his hometown uh he’s doing some concreting work we speak to him uh sort of every now and then maybe every month or so and uh just catch up and yeah he’s doing really well for himself he’s happy and that is the update on Mad Mullet so yeah it’s definitely it’s definitely on the improve um would like to see some more quality in the crab but there’s definitely like the the numbers are there the bio the biomass is there there’s there’s plenty of um there’s plenty of crab around as you can see in the video like the you know we just how many we throwing back already um so in a few weeks time like maybe the next full moon they’ll stay up in the creeks here in the rivers and and um and eat and get full they’ll they’ll um yeah their shells will harden up and they’ll fill up with meat so big thanks to Reef Chief there for sending us a heap of shirts oh that is a good pot look at the size of this fella down here so this is where it comes down to the quality again cuz it looks like an amazing pot you see this one been living in the mangroves a bit so that’s that’s a rusty one they call it yeah yeah yeah now some people say “Oh when they’re rusty they’re full.” But not always not always this one’s definitely full like that’s Yeah that’s a clean That’s a beautiful crab that one that’s That’s what we talk about when we talk about good quality that one there’s good quality like you can feel the weight in him too he’s real alert flat out he’s rock solid yeah that’s a beautiful crab that that’s going to end up being on a on a plate in a Chinese restaurant down in bloody um Melbourne or Sydney or something in just a few days time under size one under size one of the day so far though so far this big fell out here have a look at him yeah yeah this is going to help pay for the fuel today look at that yeah he’s a good crab for here that’s that’s that’s as good as you can ask for really like yeah he’s over over 1 kilo yeah it’s a very big mud crab but put it this way so the inside mark on the stick is the male size the out outer mark is the female size cuz they’re different size limits obviously but you can see he’s you know he’s Oh yeah wow 30 40 mil over and he he’s hard too got a few happy snaps yeah good crab so we’ll start with the biggest sellers so we got the footy shorts these are little size zero there we do little tiny kids sizes all the way up to 7XL we got the green ones we have the pink and blue ones and I’m wearing the black ones three to choose from yeah so you might have noticed Ash on his measure he just mentioned a male and female size so another thing for all you Queensland viewers yes uh these boys recreational and uh and commercial fishermen are allowed to keep female mud crabs uh in the Northern Territory every state in Australia I believe except for Queensland um yeah as you we haven’t seen a female yet today no we will though yeah yeah the females are pretty feisty too fast moving typical yeah typical uh yeah so this is the sort of creek um yeah so we’re probably four creeks up so the mouth of the river is way down there off the main river where we’ve gone up a creek and then split off again and again and again so this is probably like the fourth junction up and up if you go up there there’ll be more creeks you can go up it’s a an absolutely incredible system here the MacArthur River Delta another couple of good males in there yeah and every pot has had crabs which is this is just a great sign yeah nice man good one he’s solid ass yeah nice big claws on him yeah so it’s actually crab load up day today so this is uh this is the end of Ash’s work week so these exact crabs that he’s catching right now they’re going to be on a truck to Darwin tonight potentially on a plane by tomorrow afternoon you reckon would they process them in Darwin uh they’ll be processing Darwin tomorrow yeah yep and then straight on the plane what down to wherever wherever they’ve been sold to all the buyers down there yeah he’s a little bit soft he looks good yeah looks he’s good he’s a weak away eh but yeah his claw is still a little bit sharp too oh yep but yeah see you pushing there little bit soft so again better let him go i’ll catch him in a couple weeks time big fella good one hell yeah this one under size yeah little bell straight back see you buddy this one’s a good one best one so far a nice olive color you can tell he’s been around a bit see his claws are a bit more worn out they’re not They’re not as sharp people ask about the bait it’s just hen wings easy to put on the bait spike goes between the two bones in the in the arm section so that that section of your arm there it has two bones just uh Yeah in there yep in that in the flat bit that bit just put the bait spike straight through the two bone so it holds it on there really nice easy to do it easy life couple of jennies in there undersized ones oh it’s the first female of the day undersized but yeah you can tell it’s female by the flap underneath there how it’s broad more like a U shape whereas the males have got like a Vshape yeah their body tends to sort of be a little bit bigger smaller claws [Music] that one’s a male see the Vshape underneath yeah a good little comparison mate thank you in the box on the side you see that female they’re trying to get out oh yeah those little escape doors that’s what those those they’re called escape vents yeah so that that allows the small crabs to toh go in and out of the crab pot yeah otherwise that why they can get bashed up by the bigger ones yeah yeah you don’t want the undersized ones getting stuck in there with the big ones cuz the big ones will eat them especially the big females they’re very cranky secret creek number nine mate oh big boy another one well over a kilo there yeah big big muddy says a novice like me I just looking at it it looks all right i can’t Yeah oh the a little bit sharp on the course so he’s not an old fella he’s big but he’s not old he’s right he’s 100% yeah nice yeah beautiful crab mate good crab it’s going to make someone very happy she’s in yeah righty that’s the first female keeper of the day yeah yep but we’ll throw it back anyway because I’ll show you how you how you test the females as you push in here oh wow look at that you can really see that down see it’s soft i’ll get my phone out hold on i’ll get a good shot there of that that’s really good to see yeah so you see that push down guys that should be rock hard there should be no movement at all would that be right yeah yeah yeah that one the the proper way to do it is um is actually when they’re tied up you’re supposed to hold it in your hand and do it not put it on a hard surface but Okay but you can see like you can just tell that’s it’s a soft one it’s soft and you can tell by like the claws too like look how sharp the claws are they all look new like they’re not worn or anything y so yeah she’s no good roger another month’s time maybe so that that one being soft how do you explain that so it’s um it’s just changed it shell not that long ago so in the last you know several weeks or so it’s uh changed it shell so crabs when they’re first born they’re um each female has you know 3 4 million eggs uh reproduce out on the uh on the coast and then basically the females go out to sea release their eggs and then uh they grow from you know microscopic little creatures into obviously the crab that you see in that shape but basically get too big for their shell they actually um walk out the the flap underneath they actually walk backwards out of that and leave their their old taking off a suit sort of thing i’ve seen video of it yeah yeah and then they basically just unfold out into with with a much bigger shell but the shells not hard it’s very very very soft like and then it takes several weeks for them to uh to get full of meat again basically so once they start eating and uh they move into the creeks here and live here for you know a month or so and the shell gets hard they get full of meat and yeah then you can you can eat them perfect and let’s talk about fishing shirts we’ve got the pink and blue long sleeve i’m wearing the green long sleeve and we’ve even got a couple of short sleeve versions as well and just a little warning for this next little section of video coming up there is footage of a tiger shark eating a baby jong all right so it does get a little bit graphic so if you think that’s something you don’t want to see maybe skip forward uh a minute or so i’ve just just come off the plane and turned around cuz we saw a enormous jug on i’d love to get a shot of it for you yeah big high tide like this they come into the into the river here they eat the through especially this this spot here there’s a lot of searass do you see many of them around here yeah heaps heaps uh especially at the moment there’s been a lot actually I’ll um I’ll send you a video you can you can put put a clip up um there was a Jong getting eaten by a tiger shark just the other day oh no way on on the coast here of it yeah up in the shallow flat real nice clear water uh yeah poor little baby Jong was only about not even a meter long but yeah big tiger shark maybe 3 and 12 m or something eating it oh no and he it literally just got it when we got there cuz um you’d see the blood still pumping out it had bitten its tail off oh the poor thing i mean that’s nature for you that’s just that’s just the way things are but yeah to see it up close like that no monsters but quantities there man holy i’m going to get out of your way nice little top up the end of the day yeah a bit of GST as Mullet would say not really good though so I say like talk about like he’s pretty hard but he’s not really he’s just not quite there not quite there like you could definitely take it but and you’ve been getting a lot of these so far this year a lot a lot of these ones that are okay but would you envision that as the season goes on yeah that’s why I say like you you could take it now and get half the money oh yeah or you could leave it and try and catch it in two weeks time 3 weeks time and uh and it will be a grade then yeah yeah okay cuz they’re nearly there nearly cooked just off the stick next week next shell next shell oh soft i can’t remember none have gone in the box yet no you’re joking how many crab was in there oh it must have been it must have been at least that that’s empty as just look at it it’s almost translucent on the bottom yeah he’s in there just by looking at it you can see how empty it is brand new shell wow well what looked like an amazing pot um ended up with no keepers story of my life mate just approaching the last pot of the day here hopefully we can end on a high mate hopefully doesn’t look like it no n one in there e maybe two three three oh one that’s almost blue that one very blue very empty oh yeah throw back bugger what’s your diagnosis on him not bad yeah he’s right trying to bite me all righty good run mate perfect time to uh go back tie these guys up and um
