hello everyone Welcome back to the channel Welcome back to another video My name is James Ward head professional here at Jvis Golf Club Today we’re taking a look at the Tailor-Made P series irons We’ve got the P790 the P770 and the P7CB So we’re going to take a look at the differences because we’ve had people interested through the golf shop There are range of irons that are quite similar So we’ve got get slightly smaller when we get to that P P790 P770 and P7CB Three very different irons but looking very similar So there’s you know the differences So we’re going to hit them today I’m going to hit them Show you the differences Show there’s the numbers on the GC quad And really what we’ve got is like as an overview of them P790 the players distance We’ve got the P770 which is you know when you’re getting a bit of into a bit of a smaller iron for consistency And the P7CB is when you want to try and make uh a bit of shot shot making capabilities If you want to move the ball left to right right to left and so on you know go to that back and you and you know if your ball striking is a little bit better So let’s get into it Got the same shaft Got you know the shaft that I’m using So hopefully we get some good numbers hit a few shots with each one and then discuss what the GC Quad’s telling us Right We’re going to kick things off with the P790 which I think are a great set of irons Feel really good And you know we’ve recently had a tailor made custom fitting day here And the fitter there was great Luke from Tailor Made Absolutely brilliant Uh great thought session for everyone his knowledge is absolutely mint really because I and I I was sort of saying like I’ve used these and I think they’re really good and I says you know what would stop me putting these in the bag because I am so consistent and he was saying sort of like the spin spin number that they just wouldn’t be right for me which was interesting because I’m actually fighting these kind of well and I’ve got a feeling these three sort of irons are going to come out very similar sort of um going to throw us similar sort of numbers really The negative points for the P790 in the past have been like the distance So if if there’s a player wanting distance this is the one for them But we had a couple of guys who was using like using like sim irons and he put them onto these P790s because that sim was giving him that too much of a low ball flight Uh and you know this is now getting him it launched in the air proper sort of ball flight and really improved how he was hitting it So on that same thing these should be too low bullety for me and that’s what we’re saying But I’m hitting these really nice They’re not going too far at all They’re not even going 170 carry Okay the golf balls are perfect but we’re not going to use that But yeah it is players distance iron That’s a bad strike 155 Bad swing by me It’s better If you can see that ball flight there’s nothing ever we’d say is wrong with that Very consistent So so yeah I quite like that there But right we’ve got a couple of things there to maybe maybe mention We’ll come on to that But let’s circle change now We’ll move down the the series We’ll go to the P770 next So got the P770 here now So as we get to this slightly thinner top line does look really good And I feel like it’s as you get faster you move up the set So like the guy on the sim swung it too fast for the sim You need a P790 Then you then you’re thinking do we need that so I don’t need that P770 So it’s whether I’m going for this more consistency or the shot making club the P7 CB Let’s hit this and see what this brings I mean I’ve hit it before Beautiful club Little pull Little left on that one That’s better That is sweet Similar ball flight Yeah Right Here we go This is sort of telling us some different numbers here which could be what we sort of wanted to tell everyone That’s going That’s really nice This is 770 X100 shaft like I’ve been using But he’s just been I think it’s when you’ve got the sort of ability to hit him gives you the confidence if you’ve got you know if you’re getting lower suppose lower lower the handicap you become it could be moving on to P790 and then that CB a little bit Right This feels good Good sound to it when you hit that good strike Really really nice Nice to look at thin top line Yeah beauty right online that one So that’s got So yeah different again different type of numbers but that’s that that is probably the one I’d go for I think cuz I want consistency Shot shaping not really fussed about Don’t really need to do it don’t play anywhere really that requires it especially with irons So and don’t feel confident doing it Maybe one day but yes So we’ll So let’s let’s move to the P7CB and see what that throws out It could end up being very similar to this I suppose we’ll we’ll see with the numbers on the consistency So P7CB I did I was very close to going for these I must admit but they are just maybe Well they’re very small so you know they’re going to be very small sweet spot Like I said for that very close to being a blade I just thought now that is going to be I’m not going to feel like I’ve made the right decision with them But that’s lovely Sounds even better than that 770 in it It’s even a proper sweet proper strike Got a long way though 20 20 yard left pull Added a bit of distance on it Knocked that spin down a bit It just feel Does look does look a good club Does make you think I’m hitting them good It’s hitting them good probably on my numbers there that I normally would do It feels good Sounds good Probably sounds just a little bit of a better sound than that P7790 Not that it’d be a but I think I mean well we had it the other week like I said tail made fitting day and some I think it’s interesting to say like the some of the comments you get from it is like people come for the 790 because they may be easier to hit They think they’re going to get that help with it But actually on the numbers side you can show that it has done for me It’s just knocked that spin down a lot I think it’s just be on your on obviously we’ve got to match it to the player So if you’re a higher handicap then maybe it can be that 790 and you get a shaft that maybe helps you get that ball spinning um a little bit more if you really needed that But it’s sort of matching sort of matches on the speed and I know handicap coming down does cuz we had one ladder who got fitted into these and he absolutely rips it It unbelievable to see actually Ed from uh from our golf club He was his four iron were carrying 225 Yeah really good to see member of the scratch team Good to watch That’s just high and right Yeah good to watch It made me feel like no I don’t want to hit any more balls when you were absolutely tearing it But he went into them and obviously everything were matched up for that So we’ll talk about the numbers now what we’ve seen from them cuz when I’m hitting them like that they’re all very similar So I’m getting I’m got the ability to fly that piece every night It’s not like it’s coming out like that low bullet And you can see that very similar flights Carry distances are the similar So we can just we’ll just go through them now um and check out what the GC Quad says So as we take a look into these uh numbers here up and down So we’ve got the P790 can see very consistent one pull which for myself isn’t unusual P770 just you know spreads a little bit more but consistency one pull P7CB bit more of a spread although frequencies in that last one I’d like to cancel that last one out because I feel like I wasn’t concentrating too much on it But so you can see like there’s the consistency is almost similar The carry P790 162 average 163 164 So that’s a bit different Like I potentially think that could be the opposite losing that But we see here the P790 This is what the fit was saying So there we get the two low spin with the P790 potentially coming in a little bit low That’s that’s what could happen there Then here P770 P79 Obviously we got to take strike into consideration when that ball speeds up The spin’s probably where we want it on there like that So you can see there Yeah that’s just getting up Okay that was right like that But you can see on the yardages here that it’s still quite consistent me throwing one of them in like that and that kind of want to throw them out but obviously we’re not going to do that We show every shot we hit But I think because hitting them and they’ve made that piece of a 90 a really good club that is now launching up higher Four irons really good Longer irons are really good as well as we’ve seen when we’ve done that full set test from that But I think it’s just that it’s an interesting number that and he said that So yeah we had that guy in the semi irons I think they were He needed 790 just for cuz he wanted the distance And then as we got into the quicker players they sort of went for you know one lad was one lad came for 790s he got 770s for that reason And then Ed was probably a bit more open to anything but walked away with that CB and then a 770 in the for I think that’s where he wanted um more consistent club for cuz he hit it that far and it actually went right where you’d want probably a hybrid but he could hit that round here easy all day every hole it were quite amazing So I think there we could see that there’s three similar clubs but just that’s what you’re sort of watching for And I think that’s the person who it’s going in as you start coming down You know if you’re wanting the distance 790 I think if you wanting super consistency um but you’ve got that distance maybe like lower handicap 770 then if you’re a ball striker try that CB And if you’re confident enough with that that is beautiful club But I would be swaying more to these two and potentially close to that 770 I think how I’ve hit it how it looks giving me that confidence um to hit the them clubs throughout the bag But cool sort of test there Not bringing the results that I thought it would Although when I’ve tried that 780 before it doesn’t boom it you know like you think it would An absolute rocket That’s probably about where I would hit these I mean we’ve got fairly decent range balls there Um not premium balls but good throw out them good numbers And that number there where it’s coming down onto the green is a much more consistent angle It’s only a few degrees but could make all that difference So so yeah hopefully there we’ve answered a few questions Like I say we’ve been asked that quite a lot over social media when we’ve had that tailor made day We put that video out there uh of that day and in a pro shop sort of educating people on the differences between it cuz like I said that 790 and 770 looks or has done in the past looks exactly the same There’s just a slight difference in what’s underneath inside So cool to get that info
