defending champ on the golf course Sheffler at the first just barely missing the fairway here still got a really nice lie just 160 yards left he’s trying to get it back there just a little ride of that hole location but he will have a look at a birdie putt nice job getting it all the way back this whole location starts it out right should pull left great putt great start for the number one player in the world it’s from 162 just got to avoid the right side of this pin as it funnels to the right great control again scotty is one of the best at controlling the distance 58 and 59 on this golf course this man shot 59 it was not too far from here it was over in Boston scotty Shuffler birdie at the fourth and now he’s three under [Music] that’s a beautiful T- shot easy to lose this out to the right though this could get Brendan D young’s attention there short right and low i got over the miss too that’s a great miss that’s just about where Xander Shaw play was that went right over Brendan’s head good little pitch shot but he’s got some work left he’s made a 16footer a 4-footer and a 15footer for birdie already and another what 3 and 1/2 4t there the four under after f after after six so a back right hole location here at the seventh oh man that was thick just carried that bunker that was run to the eighth T this is not an easy putt up and over a ridge and actually goes away from him the last 10 or so feet whoa let’s go to another University of Texas player Sheffller save his par and he does keeps that card clean scotty the chef looks like it’s just over the right edge of the bunker it’s perfect yeah now it really turns this hole into a scoring hole i don’t know held up cut spinner at about 66 yards is perfect about right there yeah that’s another area could do with a little bit of work right [Applause] and Scotty is on the move early here in Cromwell that’s a 30 going out the defending champion trying to flatten out that ball flight up the left center so good excellent he’s used to the Texas winds these are nothing for him he’s just got all the shots frank Kendall definitely flighted it really good line got it got it that’s okay just off the green to button up that point sheffller for another birdie ah never a doubt sheffller now moves to within two with plenty of golf remaining including a par five coming up out of bounds left water right this is a low bullet up the left hand side might have to get down and does no problem there the little fairway finder lowered trajectory with the cut it’s struck doesn’t it sure looks like it my goodness what a shot that is absolutely flushed three iron right yeah that was the driving iron kind of that driving iron three iron he uses oh my gosh is that hit solidly he got a good read off of JJ’s spot coming up and over that hill in the hole got it sheffller that ties in for the lead at 8 under farm the third eagle of the day at 13 boy this is absolutely pummeled just left of it let’s just settle down just a little bit okay that heavy rough kept it up but of course you can project it’s a par 70 well he’s definitely setting up like it’s Yeah back in the stance square face this is going to be a bump into the hill he needs to birdie three out of the last four to shoot 59 was done last year remember third round cameron Young not that time right in the middle solo leader nine under par three holes to play and the chase is on kurt sure is should be fine yep that’s the thing with TPC River Highlands don’t hit driver probably you know 70% of the time off the TE’s there no problems safely on there not tucked in the way he was hoping for 61 [Applause] instead it’ll be a second 62 today with Austin Ecro what a start to his title defense here outside of Hartford scotty guards an 8 under 62 with world number one scotty Shaffler scotty the eight under 62 what were the keys to your round in windy conditions yeah I mean it got it got pretty difficult out there um it was it was quite windy and um yeah I got the ball in play a lot give myself a lot of looks and um outside of the boogon 17 you know didn’t really do anything that would lose my momentum and you know I hit some hit some really quality shots out there big contrast from last week where even par was a great round only one guy was under par you didn’t break par in any rounds yet you have a top 10 finish today eight under you’re a co-leader is there a mindset shift when you go from a week like Oakmont to what you see this week at TPC River Islands i mean no you’re just trying to execute if I if I would have hit it today like a uh if I would have hit it last week like I did today I would have shot some different scores out there i don’t think I would have shot 8 under but I definitely would have been able to break par and so most of it was just you know kind of battled my swing a little bit last week and then coming in this week and um you know finding a little something and just uh going out there and hitting hit a lot of fairways hit a lot of greens and um you know gave myself a lot of good looks today and was able to you know hold a few pots in your press conference yesterday you were talking about how much you like TPC River Highlands that it’s a fair test rewards good shots punishes bad shots you’re not too worried about where the winning score ends up what is it about this layout that seems to suit your eye well I I think you have a really nice finish i think there’s always uh there’s always excitement on Sundays and I think that’s what fans really enjoy to watch and this is a tournament that gets great crowd support and um you know the amphitheater there on 18 is really cool and I think even 18 is such an underrated hole i mean if you hit a good drive you’re going to be in the fairway you’re going to have a chance to make birdie and if not you’re going to be in that bunker on the left hitting a wedge and challenging shot and if you hit in the right rough you’re going to have trouble you know keeping the ball in that green and so I think there’s there’s rewards for good shots and there’s punishment for bad ones and um you know today I was able to hit hit some good shots that that that I was rewarded for thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube for more videos click here to subscribe click

  1. I tried to impress my boyfriend with a striptease. It was going well until I slipped on my own clothes and landed face-first on the bed. Smooth moves, right👅

  2. Crazy how golf courses can be so different, last week at Oakmont we were obsessed with Sam Burns’ 65, but at the Travelers we have two 62s and no one cares😂

  3. I said on socials; the Earth is back to it's normal orbit as Scottie is doing well on a golf course during competition.
