Nelson Watson, a catfishing guide at Grand Lake in Oklahoma gives the best rig to use for catching catfish!

$20 pole we’re using big game triene high viz line and we’re using a large pin Pursuit 8000 reel and what we’ve got when we get to our terminal tackle here we’ve got them tied off with a swivel we take a regular course this one had to be tangled up we take a regular barrel swivel right here before we put our swivel on a large snap swivel this is what we will clip our 3oz Sinker onto lets it slide without beating it up lets it transport without beating our poles that lets the fish take it without feeling the weight we tie it to another large barrel swivel this is 20 lb big game I go to 60 lb mono cheap 60 lb mono 7 KN circle hook that’s all there is to it the key is to have plenty of poles out to cover plenty of ground and you need some Flex in that pole

  1. Your hands were too much in the way, couldn’t see clearly. Redo it, take your time and show us slowly and then stretch it out so can see clearly the hook up. Your big hands were blocking some view

  2. Why do people use leader lines heavier than the main line? I thought the purpose of the leader is if you snag it will break the lead before losing 20-30 feet of mainline.
