[Music] heat up here [Music] hello and welcome to the Ladies European Tour and a return to the Canary Islands for the first time in more than a decade the Tenneref Women’s Open last played in 2011 and a stunning setting for the tour’s return we’re in the southwest of the island at Abama Gulf a spectacular layout designed by Dave Thomas epic views of the Atlantic Ocean from almost every hole on the pass 72 with lots of elevation changes water and sloping greens anything under path could be a good score no doubt about the player to watch Money Roads the English woman has already racked up three wins in her rookie season caroline Headwell and Lingrad hold the record with four victories in their debut seasons she has them and another trophy in her sights let’s get on with the action [Music] not much wind and with cloud taking the edge off the heat course was offering up birdies with four top sixes in her last four le starts and a top 20 finish last week in the US women’s open kiara Tambini had been in eyecatching form a level par opening round here for last season’s number one emma spins another inform with four top 10s and no mis cuts this season and it showed the Austrian right on the money here with her approach at the tricky 16th as she carded an opening day 70 to sit in a tie for sixth the Par 37 has a breathtaking backdrop but even that view was left in the shade by this nine iron from Mimi Roads [Music] looks well pitches releases and in for one when you’re hot you’re hot fi Rose have a year roads were closed two under one behind Arian Clocks used to small islands in an ocean she from French Calonia is approaching the last would ensure an opening day 69 ellie Given hadn’t had the strongest start to the year but the English woman looks to be on the road to recovery one of the straighter hitters on tour this is a course that suits her a short game also working nicely almost holding out for an eagle at the six given four [Music] sophia Kibgore Nielson ended the day in a tie for the lead a day on the Axis series order in 2023 but was unable to find her feet on the main tour last year signs have returned to form for the Dane who posted an opening 67 match later by Irish woman Lauren Walsh kips Gor Nielson who only has provisional status embracing the pressure this year coming in not having my full card knowing that I had to do well in the events that I’m playing just kind of I don’t know put me in a good mental place that I need to keep working on the same stuff and I know that I can be there round two and as close to perfect golfing conditions you could hope for atama golf it was turning into a week for spectacular shots this time Artisans Bario getting into the ax the greens here are notoriously tough so if you can it’s best to take the putter out of the equation a couple of bounces a nice roll and in for an eagle too at her final hole of the day the ninth unfortunately not quite enough to see her make the cut picture Dagger had an up and down day in what was an entertaining 69 some six birdies on the car from the left-hander thanks to some stunning approaches had it again outrageous shot by Dick Shadagger dead on the bag clearly approved emma Spitz another going well picking up from day one putter was warming up nicely this at nine one highlights reel grabs another one moves to five under par [Music] marta Martin another to close at that score four birdies and a single bogey from the Spaniard who had friends and family following her up and down the 300 m of elevation sore legs no doubt worth it she closed just two shots off the lead as was the overnight leader Sophia Kibs Gor Nielson the day not quite at her day one best but after starting with an eagle and closing with a double bogey a level pass 72 kept her in the running at the halfway stage [Music] laura Walsh though very much picking up from where she left off out in 33 she added two more birdies at the start of the front nod to follow before finishing in style sticks tight great shot there by Walsh that’s 68 enough to put her two clear of surging late finisher Shannon Tan with some seven players at five under walsh’s coach knows the course well here and whipped out Google Earth to give her a walk through ahead of the tournament we had a good chat about it the other the other day um and I think just like um in general for me to have a picture of kind of what to expect of some of the different shots um that I knew I’d have you know it’s a it’s a quick turnar around to try and learn the course especially one as tricky as this so um any bit of information coming into it is always helpful once again the wind stayed low with the sun increasing in strength as the day progressed the heat then on for the overnight leader and unfortunately Walsh wilted the course is unforgiven if you’re not quite on your game and finding it all so easy on Friday saturday a different matter an example of her troubles at the par 510 the W posted a 77 that dropped her back to four under chances dented but not quite yet gone and the spits ended the day in a tie for fifth she struggled early on dropping three shots on her opening 11 holes but finally got the putter warmed up again and landed some birdies this one a four in a round of 71 alessandra Finalei another player who would fancy their chances heading into the final day the Italian has won a PIF Global Series event but is yet to add an individual title to her regime the round at 7168 71 she was six under and just two shots off the lead with two top five so far this season Helen Bream started the week in the top 20 of the rankings and looking to push on a debut title came on Spanish soil the teenage German was looking back to her best in Tener saturday 67 the second best round of the day as she joined finale on six under and earning a hug from dad on the back shannon Tan in her own words plays boring golf fairways and greens the order of the day for the metronomic player a perfect combination for Abama Golf though a 66 on day two thanks to cuts like that a level par round to follow it up tab seven under nora commuline and another in the mix thanks to a 69 a local caddy on the bag this week who also happens to be a sports massage therapist 600 m of elevation up and down the course here revealed afterwards he was keeping a loose and a polyino’s only win came in Spain she seems to save her best golf for home turf a hole in one of the past seventh she nearly hauled out here at the 11th for a twoshot eagle the good golf kept coming she produced the round of the day with a 66 to shoot up the leaderboard into second but out ahead at 8 under for Sarah Kuska fresh off her win at the Jabra Ladies Open the check is banging for starting the day some four shots back around a three under enough to propel her into the lead perhaps a sign of how fragile any advantage is here at Abama Golf an impressive 68 from Amelia Garvey put her in the mix while Mimi Rhodess had a 69 to stay in with an outside chance kusco though the one to catch and a chance to make it two wins in a row i try not to think about it i think it’s just I’m I’m happy that the game uh is solid that I’m hitting good shots that we are making good decisions and uh that’s all I can ask for stay with us to see if Kuska could keep her winning run going or if the chasing pack could hunt her down we’ll see you after the break [Music] [Music] hello and welcome back to the Canary Islands for the final round of the Tenneref Women’s Open at the stunning class 72 Abama Golf where is anybody’s to win sarah Kuska with the narrow advantage but with a course that comb it was impossible to call a reminder of how things stand kuska with a one-shot lead with 22 players within six shots it’s far from done let’s catch up with some of the early action [Music] once again gorgeous conditions for the final round with some early cloud taking the edge of the heat and the overnight leader started like she meant business a one the first birdie in the back at the next another downhiller the same result two and two from the check while her playing partners could only manage par the main threat seemed to be coming from Patricia Schmidt starting four shots back she birdied five of her first six holes to put herself right in the mix now nine under but Kuska kept her foot down a brilliant touch with her third at the par five sixth for her third birdie in six holes 11 under and with Trevino and Norah Commul Island unable to land any birdies of their own she looked well set what Emma Spitz was going well again at least for the irons this 10 seemed like a certain birdie but she would go on this half a one-shot lead overnight sarah Kuska has now doubled that advantage i’m Richard Coffman alongside Sophie Buler sophie this doesn’t seem to be an easy course to front but Kuska coping very well so far not taking any risks has she that win over at Evian Resort filling up with confidence but Helen Bream is lurking for this par five in three setting up short not looking good for a birdie only birdie on the front nine came at a par five that was a sixth that 10th unfortunately ended with a drop shot for Patricia Schmidt six there par on 11 outside chance for a two on the 12th just needs to reset get her round going again a tough stretch to come though 13 through 16 for the Belgium one thing to note about a Bama Golf is the elevation changes here’s a good example Sophie at 10 i don’t think I’ve ever said this 45 yds downhill par five driver back into the wind for customer view steady now short of that water we’ll be on the down slope though caddy Yakob on the bag terrific partnership he’s a world class hockey referee up on the green bream not much movement in this one sinks it chris looking on Em with a high five from her dad she struggled on the greens this year too bad now Fernardi 16th on the order of merit and get one of those seven spots from the rankings but that won’t help first drop shot of the day back to sixander 77 yds 3/4 sand wedge sticks the landing and knocks it in there close in reply to the bream birdie on 10 she was a little worried coming into the week how it might be her first event after winning is it working out rather well so far fourth season on tour for Nora Kovine first time in the final group on a Sunday 75 yds for the Finn oh and that’s even better a kicking birdie she will move to minus 6 using a birdie on the front now should go back to level parid top 10 at the Jabra she’s actually part of Kuska’s winning team in soul now trying to chase down the captain some round she’s putting together feel like it’s a must make mate looking for a first birdie the day today Anna Pal Jino playing partners in tight Spanish pump looking determined says she loves playing at home in Spain and being at the top of leaderboard 67 yesterday for Hedbury he played with Anna Palachuina who shot 66 at 11 looking good as you said the difference really for her is if she can just find those putts she didn’t the first two days [Music] should be in formality from this river well done that’s what you got to do take advantage of the par five around Abama Resort just done that on six and 10 now the 1100 three ahead 13 tough holders one was brave off the tea though took it down the right hand side Schmidt so we’ve just left herself with a pitch in to a front flag the hardest greens to hit on the golf course but from that right hand side of the fairway things are a lot easier two imping there there’s a stunning setting on the southwest coast of Tenneref has to hit this one firm down the left hand side it’s slow best opportunity like you said struggled on the greens this year there’s only one tournament she’s gained in the putting stats and that was when she came third at the Joeberg Opens 12 she talked on the Ladies European Tour podcast at the start of year about getting herself into winning positions more fabulous T-shot here at the part three certainly been the case she’s seems to be up there every week right now added some zip into that iron play this is awkward blind second shot 158 yds a long way back into the wind for commulin 7 iron that’s one [Applause] nice from the fin the last time the ladies European tour were at Bama Golf that was in 2006 we had a finish winner then Rick Hackerin [Music] Kuska can see the flag this is an infinity fairway car 43 yds seven iron trying to flight this one down goal for the year in 2024 again today see anyone stopping at taking that title in 2025 spit to try and close the gap a little slightly too high only a part outside right here for Patricia Schmidt the birdie just came out of the of the blocks on fire those five birdies in the first six holes hasn’t found a birdie since though still very much in touch though hit it into the water here yesterday on 12 to get her own back [Music] trying to get into that major chris are guaranteed to be at a breaker should come back now oh it has back to back birdies to start the final nine holes in Kusk you can see there by the cheer what that means 12 four ahead for now it is looking mighty fine again for Chris partners to respond parts of the road first El Pino five back [Music] hard enough from that left hand side [Music] some length as well one two and 11 pace as well oh that Custer was the furthest away and she walks off with Birdie stretching her lead the energy out of her playing partners to the 12th hole and it’s a position of authority for Sarah Kuska starting the back n style to open up that four shot lead on course to go back to back the tenner winners [Music] [Music] [Music] Hello welcome back to the Tenneref Women’s Open where the news just keeps getting better [Music] trisha cutter let her down at the 14 but worse was to follow for the Germans she made a real mess of the 15th a double bogey there ending her hopes for another win a familiar story for Emma Spitz another birdie chance another miss dropping the shot approach at 30 wwood cover shot commun another in trouble four pup costing the deer who hopes to be over sa in a dominant position to win for the second event in a row five shots clear [Music] about 164 y feels like everything’s falling into the hands of Sarah Chrisa right now she’s the only one not made a mistake down the right hand side on 13 79 yd sand wedge run around the pit take it long spin it back she just looks so in control perfect T shot another bird coming up just a couple of weeks ago it’s floating right now for the check player green really has to make this erases that bogey on the 13th for the gap back to four for now to give us this 13 to get to 13 under there you’ve never seen so relaxed but focused when they were a few weeks ago this is now coming to be in finale have been very first since the Italian Javino yesterday it was all happening today so far nothing really happening but good look here at 13 the chase of yesterday she was out of it [Music] steady it’s the 19year-old from Germany the main challenger right now Bream at 15 narrow green this one slow back to front down the left so much great push that one lovely this pictures downhill par three set it up for a draw with this 7 iron 50 yards with that slow [Applause] do [Music] one of the last two holes to close this one down at 16 the irony poles are put on the hardest green on the golf course well some light relief at least the six under 14 back to left [Music] three years since she burst onto the tour with that win in Madrid should keep up this one for Helen Breen at least a flag length from right to left and incredibly slow hit it up the hill there now we drop down that’s not hard enough she had the line [Music] to be done these greens changed the grass on the last year need a tick eagle now there’s his challenger guaranteed a park let’s give her a birdie she’s been the best on the path race this year more than that but 13 and 14 tough holes negotiated with pass yeah tough little stretch 15 16 as well car five 17 shot for green is five again so just give that it’s just so dispiriting isn’t it we’ve seen that look that’s what I thought seen that look for so many players the life Jino certainly been amongst them as well missed started here slowly 60th on the ranking coming into the week so that’s really contending this season first time in Tennere always wanted to come with her friends to go surfing but the job got in the way down the right hand side short of the lake second shot for Bri into a sky from right there a little bit better as well off that slope Slight push off the tea towards the left hand side here on 15 it’s long and left it will come back from right to left [Applause] very nicely not sure if she means it but it could get close the slope come on down this is as well for spits on 17 uphill second shot 3wood well she’s not hold anything today this one this is Helen Green Country isn’t it get down as well the trouble is it breaks the other way closer to the hole shannon Town was a runner up to Kuska in France a couple of weeks ago three over today what are we expecting that’s more like it 16’s not the hole really you expect for a bright moment but it’s nothing to Patricia Schmidt shot in by Hannah Jino was similar to what comes did long left soon as she hit it for a chance here maybe to put a little bit of pressure on guaranteed position for birdie outside left she remains five holes running out fast although she will be comfortably get to get back to park for the round [Music] [Applause] keeps things interesting for her eyes on the leader a lot to be done here though believe it or not this one moves from left to right [Applause] as well second drop shot of the day the other came at half through seven panic stations still four clear three to play but 16th coming next she’s had a seven wouldn’t want to remind her about that right now it is an eagle path it’ll be a long one for the spits i think from left to right [Music] just feel at the moment that two birders are the only thing that’s going to happen for Smith we’ll get it to 800 Chrisver at 16 just off the fairway 146 yds seven iron ball above her feet and that’s turning left way left down the hill very close to that palm tree you are 18 spits all above her feet this one will move from right to left she’s giving herself a birdie look at least close to that in the way at all she would have to go left anyway here that back stop back it was the only thing you couldn’t do you had to be long with that third on 16 well we weren’t expecting double bogey into the equation 15 suddenly a few headaches for the leader see the formality now looking a little bit more questionable for Sarah Christopher reported motors to come for the checker [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to the tenner reef women’s open sarah Kuska saw her lead cut to four shots with a bo 15 more trouble for the check 60 well it’s panic stations now wanted a free drop from the pipe didn’t get it see from her mannerisms she gets it that one to go down slowly big drive iron going for this green in two she’s got that left for eagle avoid a double bogey really going for an eagle it could be a huge change on the leaderboard this one could go change she has two put in every single green on this back again from your line can make birdie or ano the pressure will be ramped up on Kuska what’s going on it’s from left to right good effort from the pin first time in a final group hard to believe at the age of 34 but it is on a Sunday for her came up short in two chipped up to here finale so this to save part shame probably not the weekend that the Italian would have wanted but still it’s her ninth top 10 on the Ladies European tour of the last round of 73 to flick the switch here reignite some flames in there he doesn’t seem to have it today trevino jacked out there eagle putt to get to nine under Helen Breen don’t know what’s going on behind that could have been to tie for the lead she certainly won’t you can see by her body language here feels like enchanters are gone with the bo on 13 and 15 but oh no he’s causing havoc here this week [Music] five shot lead just a few holes ago Breen taps hers in which we see she will only be down to one 16th hole has cost her six shots in the four rounds this week wind in her rear there breen does tap in so that lead completely disappeared helen Breen has no idea spits to tap in for a closing 71 there’s a clubhouse lead at least who knows fifth and top 10 of the season for the Austrian hit a hybrid to here a 30 yd bunker shot wants to keep it down the left hand side of the flag leaving himself the uphill crock to birdie the good news for Krisco is she has birdied this hole every day she is pin high in two so put in for eagle this one maybe a yard left far left from there makes such a difference talking about the 13th and 16th hole how hard a stretch it these green drop shots but of there she likes to make birdie don’t she she gazing at the stunning views of the Atlantic and the island of Lagomera chipping into the breeze like a little shy so not one of the three really guaranteed for what is what the easiest hole on the course [Music] great shot by 97 y gap wedge front pin okay just picked it in that right hand side she played that similar length but yesterday afternoon birdie first with birdie party 17 feel like she’s read the puts well today her pace just hasn’t been on some on these greens they’re running 9.8 on the stint meter so undulating get to 10 under another thing that looks so routine so easy to look very very difficult she is leading heading to 18 but not the kind of lead we thought and Kulin to get within one now what an opportunity for the Finn agonizing would never have thought not one of these three would make birdie at 17 it’s the pressure green to set the clubhouse target at nine under and to tie the lead tracking [Applause] she’s had a couple of top five this season tap that one in for a 70 back on the tea two swings driver up down the right half [Music] [Applause] it should kick in but when it’s a 72 and you’re trying to win the circumstances she looks noticeably worried at the moment as to say I can’t wait for this to be over so Bri in a day under park she will have to see what it does mean is a par will be good enough now for Sarah Kuska to win thank you thank you the stroll up 18 that it looked a long time like it would be in between clubs wedge your nine he’s opted for the 99 to be long of this pin 120 yards plays eight up no one pass interested spectators participate down there in the shadow of the flag behind the left hand side here [Music] given what we’ve seen the last few holes it’s not easy comb they may still have a chance give it a roll just one of those days where nothing would really fall for Anna Palak Jino Spanish winner come from left to right 800 part still it’s going to be the best result in 180 events on the ladies European tour line [Applause] 17 could have been maybe a little bit more but seven under been a really good week as it has been for for life Jino hopefully she can pop this one into part time for the year start how it was going to go this week with her game solid comes down to this Sarah Kuska for the victory in Tenneref christopher has done it again oh boy relief and joy for the relief she’s still celebrations and at some point we’ll start to enjoy this win but that last power that was tough she won it the hard way of couple of weeks there for Chris a one shot victory over Helen Green notable mentions for the likes of Arian Clots Madison Hinson Tolchard and Lorna Mccclimman the rookies with their first top 10s on tour as it was also for Amelia Garvey halfway leader Lauren Walsh closing with a 72 but there’s no doubt who ultimately stole the show in Tennere player on tour was for once thank you well I think I’m still on the 18th Korean processing um no it’s it’s amazing it’s uh it feels great to do it in a row like this i’m speechless i think Mimi Rhodess finished tied for 20th but her lead at the top cut by Krisco who moves into second place on the order of merit helen Bream and Emma Spitz both move into the top 10 in seventh and ninth place no surprise to see the three-time winner rose top of the Rookie of the Year rankings looking to become the fifth player in the last six seasons to win both rankings eddie Corder remains top of the Rolex world rankings but thanks to that magnificent win at the Women’s US Open by a start [Music] well thanks for watching as Sarah Kriscover checked out of Tenneref with another victory next up we head to Belgium never keep in touch with all the action at ladiesuropeanour.com until then [Music] Heat up here
