on today’s video we’ve got a family of wedges that I’m a huge fan of personally I used to play the old 588s and if you know that model number you know I’m talking about Cleveland this is their 2025 edition the RTZ family of wedges i’ve got the 54 and the 58 we’re going to put it through its paces here on course let’s take a look at what Cleveland has done this year all right here’s your closer look at the 58° wedge in hand i’ve got it as you can see at 8° of bounce and the RTZ signifies the Z alloy that Cleveland has developed that they say is 10% softer than their metal before and after having hit a few shots with this at the PGA show I can attest it’s got a nice soft feel but still offers the same performance and forgiveness that you would expect out of a Cleveland wedge now there’s a lot more technology inside of here including what Cleveland calls Hydrozip hydrozip allows you to play out of wet conditions and kind of wicks water away from the grooves which is very important these grooves also feature Ultzzip and Ultazip is going to move debris like grass and sand away from the grooves to keep them clear and again to generate as much spin as possible also inside of here is Zip Core technology we can’t see that but basically near the hoszle there they’ve replaced some weighting which moves the center of gravity close to where you strike the ball there in the middle or where I strike it a little bit towards the toe that’s basically going to provide more MOI the grooves themselves these are nice wide grooves that again are going to put maximum spin on the ball now for the first time ever Cleveland has rolled out this adapt grind and as you can see I’ve got relief sections that are very different from traditional wedges it’s subtle but hopefully you can see it there on camera this is going to allow you to do all sorts of things with the ball open up the face to hit flop shots shut it down a little bit to hit low runners you could do so much with this adapt grind i think it’s really a winner now my 58 here features full face grooves but the 54° wedge that I have doesn’t have the full face grooves but you get some extra milling there along the edges which is beautiful on this 54° I’ve got the full sole design i’ve also got this at 12° of bounce all right well it’s time now to take these out on course and put it through the paces all right first test i’m getting into the fairway we’re going to hit some 80 yard shots all right shot one here okay it looks good let’s see if we get the check on it yes at least from here it looks like it i like that in terms of distance looked good as well shot two flighted that a little higher look at that checkup though that’s nice push it off to the right so we’ll make a little adjustment here to the swing path feels great coming off this club though wind’s pushing a little right as well oh that is tasty tasty that might be my best one right there get tight oh yes that is so good i’m loving the turf interaction the feel of this one and I love looking down at that full face groove for me that gives me a little bit more confidence let me hit one more here just cuz I love it might not have got all that one but uh that would be five pretty good cracks there at birdie loving what I see from the fairway all right so these here obviously I was off a little bit in terms of direction but we got that nice one hop and stop that I like to see and those look great those would be three really good cracks at birdie i love that I’m able to control the flight with these especially on this hole i was into the wind so these that were flighted a little lower obviously turned out a little bit better but so far so good from the fairway here with the RTZ let’s take one into the bunker now and see how it performs out of the sand all right next test here we’re going to go into the bunker and this adapt grind is hopefully going to help us slide through the sand we’re going to have a pin here where we’ve got a downhill lie as well so we’re probably not going to get a ton of spin but we’re going to see if we can control distance and knock a couple tight good start there roll down a little bit more just because we’re on kind of a down slope there by the pin so going to open the space up just a little touch further hopefully get it a little higher and that should be pretty good there we’ll take that one more i’m really going to cut across the face and put hopefully some extreme spin on this one i want to see it hit and check still got a little bit more roll out out of it but a good shot i’ll take that so obviously a very easy club there out of the sand and again I’d have some reasonable cracks at saving par from that position let’s move on to the next test all right this next test we’re going to take it to a thin lie and see if we can generate maximum spin with not a lot of green to work with [Music] that one grabbed up nice so a lot of ways to use this wedge very very versatile i think they’ve done a great job here giving you different options as we saw with the 54 out of wetter conditions it’s going to be a little bit more usable i’d say this one’s better for that dry environment we really got to nip it and uh all good results here i’ll take these tap-ins all day long so massive fan of what I’m seeing here out of the RTZ wedges i’m probably going to have to pick up the 50° wedge and put these in my bag they’re that good i think you’ve got ample distance you’ve got good stopping power and you’ve got versatility for me that’s so important because we get a wide variety of conditions out here in Florida i got my wet days i’ve got my dry days like this and everything in between this is the first time in a long time I’ve been really stoked about a Cleveland wedge but I’m glad to see them back and they’re back in a big way hope you enjoyed this one hit that subscribe button i’ll catch you back here next time on another edition of Let’s Play Through

Excited to try theses , and as always your videos never disappoint 🤙
Huge fan of Cleveland clubs, especially the wedges
3 birdies last night in my round Gabe. Things are looking up!!!
I do need some wedges.
Love my Cleveland wedges
Absolutely love Cleveland wedges! That’s one club that’s been consistent throughout my bag since I’ve started playing. Currently gaming RTX Zipcores but they will definitely be replaced with the RTZ when the time comes
Just picked up an HB soft premier putter from Cleveland. Was impressed with the quality for the price, will have to check out the wedges now!
Cleveland makes a great wedge. Played the rtx 3 previously and had no complaints. I'm not sure if you have plans to, but Maltbys' new drt wedges are extremely good and warrant a review imo.
Also a big fan a Cleveland
Loved the 588! Back in the 80s and 90s they were in every tour players bag. If you didn't play Cleveland you had Ping wedges. The grind is great.
I absolutely love Cleveland Wedges!
The Rtx 6 zipcores are excellent als0
I can't wait to hit them. I also loved your review of Pure wedges and it's a great price. Gabe, do the Pure wedges even compare to these Cleveland RTZ's? Anyway, I appreciate all you do for the golfing community.
My gripe with wedges is that they are SO EXPENSIVE and they really should be replaced every 2 years if you play/practice a lot. I'm actually about to replace my Kirkland wedges with…. more Kirkland wedges. They're awesome
I also miss a lot of greens, so my wedges get an absurd amount of use. haha
Hope you get a chance to play the new Maltby DRT wedges soon. I just played my first round with the 56 today and am extremely impressed. I’ve never played Maltbys before, but decided to take a chance to replace my old Vokey (10+ years old). Might have to replace my Ping Glide 2.0 60 next.
My wedges are Cleveland. CBX4 50, RTX 3 54, 58. Maybe I need an upgrade😅 Love them.
Cleveland have great wedges !! I played the CG 14’s for about what ? 10+ yrs 😁, but changed to Ben Hogans equalizer 2 wedges this yr 😁, hope you do a review on them . Those wedges look amazing too 👍🏽…. Keep up the great videos 🏌🏽♂️⛳️
They immediately went in my bag as well. Great wedges for 2025.
Still rocking my CG12 out of the traps. Got into a bad habit when I was young of giving it the yips around the green, so never use it anywhere else. Curious how their new line up might replace my utility or give me something with a little more loft. Really could use help off hardpan as the summer dries things out.
So is the ADAPT grind a Vokey M grind?
These wedges are phenomenal. Moved into these from Vokeys.
That’s a good wedge. It works for me with the stock graphite shafts. Saving a lot of shots around the green.
I played the 588s forever; loved them. Never caught on to the Vokeys…played Clevelands up until two years ago…played Vokeys last year and didn’t like them…clubheads are too big and feel was not very good…I play MP243s so thought I would go with the new Mizuno wedges…but they weren’t very good for me either…tried the RTZs and bingo! Right into the bag and they are perfect…best Cleveland wedges since the 588s…
Nice demo. Could be my next choice when my Vokeys wear out.
Gabe, how are these compared to Stu's Maltby Max Milled wedges that you played on one of your videos a while back?
Love my Cleveland wedges. 🎯
Got Takomo wedges last year and like them a lot. For $90 can’t beat it.
Cleveland wedges would have been my next option. Great review as always! May try these out this winter for next season
I remember the good ole 588 days. I used to leave my wedge in a bucket of salt water overnight so that it would rust because we were all told that’s how you got spin.
Your mere mortals logo looks awfully close to artisans logo.
the only wedges i will play with
I'd like to get a set, but I don't think I'd ever get them, or any wedge, with a full face of grooves
Bought these a couple of days ago. Unbelievable how much of a difference these wedges make.
I’m a high handicapper, and I’m hitting shots I’ve never hit before.
The spin alone is insane.
i just oredered a 56 and 60 friday, im eager to get them in!!
Love these wedges, they feel great. Got the full set 58 Adapt full face, 56 full bounce, the 52 and 48 mid bounce.
