so the Haywood DI driving iron I mean first impressions wise lookswise it’s fantastic isn’t it looks really good it looks very high-end um comes with really good shaft options as well um so obviously we’ve got it fitted with a hazardous Gem 4 80 round stiff um but yeah we’re going to do some first initial testing and see what you think we’ve got this in a two iron and spoiler alert it wouldn’t be my preferred choice i think I’d stick with a three iron personally is it available in three iron or four iron is it just two and a three two and three we also do like a copper finish as well which is an upch charge which does look very nice and would this be about an 18 or 17 loft uh I think it’s 18 and then 21 for free i guess you could crank that yeah we would be able to you’ll be able to bend them i think on the website it will state if you can bend it same for langle as well um so we’re going to do a little bit of testing with this off the deck off the tea i’m pretty sure I’m going to be able to hit it well off the tea but the deck would have you ever had a two iron yeah yeah i mean I I play one iron in summer yeah so uh yeah I’ll be able to use it I think okay um but yeah obviously I can always do the deck ones if you don’t no I’m not going to shy out of it i’m going to do it but I’m just you know I’m just saying I’m not the best way to iron off the deck i launch it quite low don’t I and you’re somebody that launches it high yeah so for me I can get a nice flight out of it where I think yeah you might struggle to get the the carry um I would absolutely love to test one of these in a free iron though yeah yeah definitely right i’m going to go first and I’m going to start off the tea so I don’t embarrass myself i mean what distance would you expect to see you know my game we’re talking sort of 230 yeah carry yeah I’d say about even get 230 i think that’ll be good obviously we just done a fairway video you’re getting Yeah around about 240 when we altered it so yeah I’d say about 230 i’m expecting this to be quite a mean fly wow oh ripped it wow 230 there you go that was mean though weren’t it one flight lunch time the 234 yards with a fivewood that’s landing you know on a two pence and again that’s carry that’s That will literally like missile oh my can you imagine that so again yeah launch 11.4 spin 28 yeah just a real good bullet kind of penetrating flight do you know what could I just put one in the bag for tea only you know on link like Lynx golf yeah again more use it you’re gonna get used to it i suppose like at these price points you don’t have to just you could probably afford to have more than I don’t want to sound like snobby here but you could afford to maybe have a 15 clubs and rotate a little i mean price point just to confirm start from 120 so for a driver iron it’s a really good price point the copper head’s 40 upcharge oh mate that has got to go in the bag bullet i think I could literally take that as it is that’s easily rolling 30 yard that’s just insane isn’t it i’m just going to try one off the deck over to you quick why your head ruin it i’m going to ruin it i’m not I’m definitely going to ruin it i don’t think I’ll launch this cuz that’s coming out flat into Yeah that’s But again it’s a great flight for a two eye you don’t really want any higher than that it’s designed just you know to get a lot of running somewhere i thought Sam were going to say to me you need to launch it more no that was a good flight to be honest a little bit cuty it was a good try it just came out of it i’m going to hit one more it did actually launch that w is I just lost the direction fairness your car is only a fraction shorter and there was a bit of a push you still got the carry i did say it won’t be my strength good stride just blocked it yeah launch 15 25 let’s go deck do you know what’s crazy is like I’ve test I’ve tested Cali i’ve not tested Tacoma and brands like that but I just feel as though like like what sorry I don’t have to say this what I’m saying is I’m I’m trying to I’ll let you this a little fade but I’m finding it hard to fathom this is what I’m going to say is that we’re getting so much performance out of a lower cost price yeah 100% yeah like what why are you paying another100 pound for something that might do the same thing that’s what I’m I mean if if I was going out and wanting a driving iron I don’t see why I would go and buy something at 250 quid anymore you can argue if the components weren’t great that you can see why you pay more but they’ve got just the same shaft as you would with a tireless tailor made anything like that so yeah I mean feels great the numbers are good so yeah why pay another 100 quid or more you know it’s it’s really good to be fair i did a bit of testing at home and it did feel really good that’s mean that’s really good you can’t get to 235 though can you oh I could if I gave it yeah 140.6 ball yeah again good launch and spin it’s kind of where I’d want to see it for a two iron i think I need to try for me personally I would commit to buy one without trying the three iron because I think the three I could probably use fairway ant shame we don’t do four cuz set I’ve just bro come up to five iron that’s just ridiculous but can you do a stinger stinger can you do a stinger that were a stinger how How much of a stinger yeah off deck yeah 40 mph into wind stinger right okay i’m going to So I’m going to grip down it and I’m going to play a little bit slower swing it’s a stinger it’s a stinger that’ll run let’s give one a go that’s what I find with like a driving iron is it I can kind of hit three different flies but the silver total distance is quite similar which is what you kind of want really and these start 129 120 wow what you could What would that shaft upgrade be it’s not up charge yeah the copper’s 40 upcharge but the copper would be cool i’d get a copper if I had one yeah you get copper definitely seen some have you seen this he’s bought where did you travel to to get these other i met a guy halfway from uh Essex absolute golf pervert as if you need any more clubs we’ll probably do a video on them soon well is there much more to add i think it’s brilliant for the price point you know just as good as anything else and you know way way cheaper i’m definitely I’ve said to Sam off camera I definitely want to put a DTOC bag together to show that like cuz for me personally I’m I’m in the golf industry and even even I struggle to believe that it can perform as well as the top brands so that’s why I want to go through the fitting process put them in the bag and actually prove it to myself and prove it to probably you guys but I mean hopefully that’s the plan anyway yeah it’s I don’t see why if you got a full bag indeed to see the the crimp perform just as good really um I think a lot of people it’s just that more snob side of getting past the name you know a lot of people just feel comfortable going like Ping Tailor Made etc where we need to venture out more and just be a bit more open-minded i think probably what’s been the barrier as well is just not being able to probably physically see the product physically try it yeah definitely you know you can go and do that in your local pro your Americ but I think now we’re going to probably see more of this you know in elite players hands you know it’s it’s going to be difficult to look past yeah i think I said you know a fitted DTC set I think is going to be you know very good gap in the market yeah guys hope you’re enjoying the videos that were the Haywood driving iron with master fitter Sam Smith from Golf Repairs for You even if you’re not in the north of England I keep saying it get yourself booked into a hotel and spend a day with Sam he’s a brilliant fitter you’ve got a great selection of stuff now aren’t you you might not be awood product but it’s an option yeah lot plenty of brands to choose from now you know getting more and more shaft options every day and every week so yeah plenty to choose but I think there’s no excuses now for anybody to say “Well I can’t afford a fitting you know I’m not fitter clubs are not for me like you know cuz I think these fit into anybody’s budget really let’s not be rude yeah i mean again if someone wanted to kind of go secondhand set of you know higherend brand compared to this fitted generally you’re going to get better performance out of this really definitely thanks for watching guys and we’ll see you in a couple of days time bye

Funny how all the DTC are coming through now. Years ago it was components and we built them ourselves.
You bringing that to Silloth Gaz?
Hi Gary,
Is a driving iron an easier option if I struggle
with a driver?
Only hitting at 85mph however
I’m just of Alex etches site where his testin an eleven golf driving iron the numbers and price are amazing well worth a look it’s called the tortoise no kidding
My takomo 2 iron was $120. Love it I just don’t game a 2 iron that often.
Very impressive, wish I had the speed still
I gave up my one iron just over a year ago! I’ve played one for just shy of 50 years since I was 16 and I really miss it! I would look at this or the Eleven Tourtoise since I play mostly Links courses and used to chop & change conditions dependant!
Whats the point of a driving iron? I don't get it. Lower launch maybe. It will not be as easy to hit as a hybrid or probably even a fairway wood. They don't inspire confidence.
Excellent video content
Wow 🤩🤩…my fingers are itching Gary, the copper one looks beautiful as well…….hmmm it's my birthday soon but I feel that I've earned an early prezzie…🌟🎊😵💫🥳
Ooow definitely thinking of getting my self a 2 iron is there much difference between that 2 iron and a 2 hybrid
This club looks great, and yes you should have it as a as a when club
You have me thinking now Gaz, I paused the video and went on their website £113 and left hand available, I’m seriously considering ordering one in the 3 iron version
Gaz, I love your Vlogs and always ponder on the same question. I get that for a low handicap golfer, you will benefit from a fitting. Is there any benefit (for a high handicapper with bad consistency who is still finding his way) to get a professional fitting at the outset? If not, how good should you be (handicap) when a fitting would benefit your game?
Is there fitting centres for haywood?
Jamie wanting a driving iron – tempted. Copper one looks gorgeous as well 👌
The magpie that is Gaz is druling over the copper head one. To be honest as am I 😂
Just ordered the haitch cbs, can’t wait to get hold of them
Gaz, don't tire Sam out as he's got a county match on Sunday and it takes him long enough to get round as it is (Sorry Sam)! 😄
Here's also a thought saving £100 could go towards an up charged Accra or GD shaft as well if you were prepared to pay £250 in the first place! (If available)
If the head is doing what it is supposed to then a better shaft is going to give you better results in terms of really dialing it in for you personally!
Titleist u510 1 iron best club in the bag
I don't understand the whole driving iron business. Hybrids are easier to hit for 18-20 degrees, and 4 iron is just as long if you're a long-ish hitter
