When is the right time to get fitted for golf clubs? We think almost everyone should get a basic fitting, focusing on length. As a taller player, lengthening clubs made a huge difference in my game. #GolfClubFitting #GolfClubs #GolfTips #GolfSwing #GolfEquipment #GolfLesson #GolfPractice #GolfImprovement #PGA #GolfLife

this one’s from JG02468 when do you think is a good time in your golf journey to actually get fitted for clubs as opposed to just playing generic lengths and used club um so to be honest with you I think almost everyone should get fitted for clubs even if it’s a basic fitting most golf places like PGA Superstore or even local places where they’ll basically fit you for free as long as you buy the clubs from them so if you’re ready to buy clubs and you know have an idea what you want go in get fitted because again do you need all like the loft stuff and things like that maybe not but length is really important so I’m a taller guy 61 and a lot of you have made comments on the channel about how I tower over the ball about how you because I I just appear bigger um vice these vice irons I have were the first clubs I got that actually ever were lengthened a little bit and boy did it make a difference it made a huge difference in my game

  1. I think alternatively if you go just do a fitting for a Driver only. It’s like $100. They will tell you if you need a longer shaft or oversized grips or anything non standard. Then you can walk away if you want with that info. It would be hard for new players to commit to a brand new $1500 full iron set I think.

  2. Club fitting will help nearly all golfers. Getting the correct shaft flex is most basic, and pertains to every club except for the putter. After that, lie and loft are important, and can make a big difference. The most overlooked fitting is the putter. It is the most used club in the bag and having a properly fit putter can help everyone.

  3. I did +.25 +2degree lie on my sub70 699 I am 6' 4". I first ordered them plus 1 inch but compiled with the lie it was just to long

  4. I'm 6 foot even and I did something a little bit out of the box. I had an old set of clubs. And for some reason on a couple of my sets, I always hit the four iron just right. So I was thinking it's the length. So what I did is made all my irons and wedgesThe same length as the four iron and I didn't bother with lie angles and all that stuff I love them they work really good. They removed a lot of variables. because I just set up to the ball and the distance from the ball exactly the same with every club.

  5. Sure for a basic fitting. I know a guy who went and spent a ton for fittings. Was told to get longer irons. Spent a ton on Pings and shoots at best 120. I would have told him to just get a used set of decent irons no more than 5 years old and then go spend your money on lessons. You have no idea yet on what you need or prefer until you actually know how to swing a club and understand the mechanics of a swing. Once you have the basics then you can go ahead and get fitted. The problem with most places are they charge a ton and then tell you you need a set of $2000 irons.

  6. I got fit for irons last year, but I was still working on my swing. At the time I had early extension issues and they fitted the irons to +2 deg lie and +1/2 inch length based on that. Now I have a better swing and my irons are too upright and perhaps too long. Maybe its time to get them adjusted back to standard
