when people think of Tailor Made you often think of their long hitting drivers or maybe even their industry-leading P range the P790 and the P770 which have made it incredibly easy to launch the golf ball for all types of golfer and help them lower their scores but none of those clubs are the club we’re talking about the club we’re talking about was in 62% of tour players bags that’s even golfers who weren’t signed with Tailor Made but so far this year it has won two majors it has won the Masters it has won the USPGA we are talking about the Tailor Made Spider Tour X now for a putter like this to be in the bags of 62% of golfers there has to be a lot of things in there there and again we know that we do have that pure roll face which does have grooves to help improve the roll so if it’s going in there it’s helping people roll the ball better and it’s not just contracted players there must be something in this putter it’s been around for a long time it certainly won plenty of majors and why I’ve called this video the 20 million pound putter but it could be a lot more because if you think back Dustin Johnson won with this putter on many of his majors that he won and then we’ve had Mroy winning with this putter and we’ve had Scotty Sheffller who has obviously won a lot of tournaments not just majors but he’s won plenty of money after switching to this putter and again this Torx putter was more of a Rory Mroy effect because it was brought back it did change it slightly changed and the spiders that they did change to which I’ll put on screen you didn’t see in many people’s bag so they brought back this traditional shape we know we’ve got the alignment aid on the top the true line which has certainly helped a lot of people but they do say when it comes to the Torx and the X3 model that we do have that slat neck so we do have a putter that performs like a blade but obviously has the benefits of a mallet because you’ll see there we’ve got to hang and when we see a mallet we often think that this is going to be face balance which you will see from Scottish Sheffller’s putter because he does have a different huzzle it does have the L hoszle and this is where you can get a lot of face rotation on this so if you’re somebody who’s always liked a blade but you want to then get a little bit more forgiveness from a mallet head then this putter could be perfect for you and obviously Maroy did use a bladed Scotsy Cameron for many years until changing into this and for me it does produce a fantastic roll i have been using a zero torque putter so again something totally different to this because I did feel like I struggled when I had something with a little bit of toe hang i did leave the face open a little bit too much and I was leaving ports out to the right quite a lot but this putter like we say does come with a lot of technology and this face is designed to get the ball rolling a little bit better so the grooves are set at 45° but obviously the materials in the face do try and get it nice and soft so it’s a soft feeling face which is something that would probably compare to the white hot face from Odyssey which obviously has been incredibly popular over many years and this is where do get a good roll so yes although a misread pace is good i would take that as a two put it’s got again a good positive roll on there that’s also inside your tour average let’s see now so it’s a putter that’s earned a lot of money it’s a putter from Tailor Made that I think goes under the radar and it’s something that has made a little bit of a comeback it’s starting to go into a few more people’s golf bags but would it go into this golfer’s bag this guy has struggled with putting over the years so could it be perfect for him and if you have got a spider putter what spider putter have you got have you got a more traditional looking one did you get the the newer version that maybe wasn’t as popular and how are you getting on so we have a man who had a putter very similar to this Dave so you did have an Odyssey number 10 triple track i did but again you’ve never heard of this before we’ve just been out here filming your nine-hole scoring but you’ve never heard of a mallet that obviously performs like a blade like this no I used to have a two ball blade Odyssey okay yeah um and everybody thought that was a bit strange but let’s see how it is you know it’s good enough for Scottish Heffler and Rory Makaroy then you never know right so Dave’s going to hit a couple of putts here so again one big thing for Dave and what I think could help a lot of golfers and why a lot of tour players use this is that true path alignment on the top of that putter so again really helps you get that ball in the center of the face really helps you get that ball lined up and putter lined up where you want it see straight away for Dave the putter mystery goes on again so Dave’s not happy with that ball right but these short just in my pocket was bugging me a little bit this is where for me obviously the face rotation on this putter on the version that Mroy does use is going to potentially be a little bit harder for you to control and this is why at the moment we’ve got you in a armlock putter to try and stop rotation stop the putter deviating because with a normal putter as you happily say I’ve got a swing like Zoro it is a little bit of a figure of eight every now and then that is your bad motion we’ve certainly started to sort that out but this is where it’s important can you control that face rotation that’s a tendency that I No is the answer on that one let’s go to this longer one Dave so again obviously we do have precision waiting with this so we know we have different necks we have different weights that you can have in these so it does fit all kinds of strokes so again depending on what you are trying to do what your bad tendencies are we do have a lot of differences we can change with this putter with that weight in to get the forgiveness we’ve got a high MOI in this putter but more importantly they can move that center of gravity around to get the forgiveness that we’re looking for how it do on pace with those grooves that hopefully help the roll go on then fantastic then green’s rolling great and not bad move on from here i think that’s a decent Yeah trying to be well inside to our average let’s go to another hole and a few more puts because as we hit some more puts here will we ever see a company dominate as much as a spider putter has 62% of all tour players including contracted and non-contracted is something that I think will take a while to beat maybe a company like Lab in future years to come could potentially do that for me it’s a bit of a hidden gem in Tailor Made’s lineup because this putter has won a lot and it’s won a lot of money that’s why it is known as the 20 million plus club we all know and we see a lot of the drivers on tour we’ve seen a lot of tour players win with the tailor made driver the tailorade woods we’ve also seen a lot of everyday golfers have the P range in their golf bags so a lot of people using those P770s P790s the industry leader in the hollow bodied area of irons but like I say I think this is a hidden gem and if you’re looking for a putter there are plenty of options online for this putter which I’ll put on screen now as you can see it can fit different strokes different neck designs something that could potentially suit you but guys if you’re enjoying the content make sure that you hit that subscriber button we’ll see you again later in the week certainly something to think about

  1. I love my spider tour x black the 2025 model and its Rory putter and i love it i have always loved the spider putter since i was a kid and i finally got one at 26 years old

  2. With the big names putting out lie angle balanced putters I don't think many pros will be using that companies stuff. The one looks like it was designed by an alien

  3. I have a Spider Tour X with the crank Hosel like Scheffler's version, but it isn't my gamer, hasn't beaten my Tri Hot 5K yet.

  4. I just bought the Tour X to replace my old Odyssey Fang Marksman. The Spider feels better off the face, rolls the ball better, and already comes with the SuperStroke grip.
    Win, Win, Win!!!

  5. I had the original daddy long legs with the white and red. The paint chipped and it felt like cast pot metal, I was very disappointed in the quality of that putter and never went back to TM.

  6. Been a ping putter user until I picked up a kirkland. This year extra putting strokes costing me so I decided it was time for a change. Ended up with a TM spider tour x L neck 35”. It has helped shave strokes with not as many three putts.
