Testing the TaylorMade P770 Irons (2024) | THREE SWING CHALLENGE

There’s been a lot of talk about the TaylorMade P770 Irons so it was only right that we get it on this week’s Three Swing Challenge for BK’s first impressions on TaylorMade’s newest version of the P770s. Feel free to let us know what else you want to see on the Three Swing Challenge!

all right welcome back to the golf W Rex three swing challenge today we are taking the three swing challenge with the brand new tailor made p770 irons these are the 2024 model one just came out and they’re multi material let’s take three swings see how it goes I like the look of these they straightened out the Leading Edge of touch and to my eye that just fits it really well I’ll hit that pretty solid just right of the flag oh just a touch short but not bad just right of the flag pretty solid strike I like that for early in the morning all right first shot went really well went and looked back kind of caught it off the toe actually still got under the front of the green I mean this thin face gives you some extra ball speed can get you know through a m hit that typically maybe would have come up short but down in the rough that performance- wise I think these things really go that hot face that multi material design while it looks like a Players Club still gives you a little bit extra forgiveness little extra help when you don’t hit it just dead center toughest hole on the course got to get one up there tight driving area see if we can get one on the green pulled it a little left that should be all right yep pin High think we should be good sound and feel is really soft I like the sound and feel of these new iron hit a good shot just a little bit left of the pin but I’ll take this every day feel these is really good they’re soft they have a nice muted sound and the ball goes for me it’s funny because these actually launch a little bit higher than the 790s and they land just a little bit softer easy to hold a grain one thing I love about these irons they pack a lot of distance a lot of forgiveness a lot of tech into such a small kind of players looking iron so so far I’ve been a big fan of the looks the sound and the feel and I think they’re pretty easy to hit that’s right at it be enough oh I think that should be good just a hair left I’ll take that shot all day but these things just perform really well for their compact size they kind of play a little bit bigger than they are all right third shot here just a little long honestly I guess I didn’t need that much more Club I could have choked down but hit a great shot just left of the flag it hit right before the flag and just released out a little bit is a little bit uphill but uh just easy to hit irons they’re really solid they’re forgiving and uh just a big fan that a person like myself can play something so compact all right so that was the three swing challenge with the tailor made p770 uh really like this iron a lot I think it’s a great iron fits a kind of a a wider range of players and I think uh you might initially think uh but we’ll start with looks and looks I’m getting this a 9.1 I really like the look of this iron I think from the previous generation they’ve really kind of cleaned it up straighter Leading Edge looks a little bit more compact from Heel To Toe just overall a really good looking package simple on the back they simplified the muscle but it still packs a ton of performance but looks uh I’m going to give it a 9.1 now sound and feel I’m going to go 8.2 I think this sounds great it’s of course a hollow body design it’s got a hot face to it it’s filled with foam uh and overall it sounds and feels really good it’s pretty soft it’s a little firmer uh than the previous generation to me but overall still really soft the sound has just enough click to let you know you hit it well uh and just a little bit more click and vibration when you m hit it and then in terms of performance I’m going to give this a nine I think it performs really well it lets a player like me who’s just hovering around that that double digit to single digit and fluctuating between it gives me enough forgiveness that I can go out and play this enough distance as my older age I’m slowing down while still being all in this compact small package that looks really good and gives you confidence at a dress so uh the turf interaction solid uh the ball goes off the face now I won’t say it’s crazy crazy hot but it does give you a little extra distance and that hot face allows you to kind of hit one off the toe and still get it to the front of the grain so overall I give the p770 and 8.8 it’s an overall really good iron that I think is going to fit a good range of players and aspiring players better players uh a wider range than you would normally think but I’m a big fan of the p770
