How I went from a +5 to a 5

how I went from a plus five to a five handicap in the matter of two years when I started social media I was renovating bathrooms and had no time to practice i would just pull up on the weekends and hustle people for bread without using TE’s i was a lethal bluecollar weapon all of a sudden last fall I got injured and when I came back I was like you know what we’re going to change up the swing make it look beautiful i spent hours and hours on the range i became a stupid range rat weasel bouncing from swing thought to swing thought figuring it out whatever looked good was good and I never practiced putting and I mean never practice putting i would just show up at the course roll one putt and be like “All right fam we good.” So I have decided with some big tournaments coming up in July that I’m going to redial my golf game and figure it out from scratch follow along as we go on this journey

  1. Sorry but I'm pretty sure a 5 handicap means your mean average is 5 over par with adjusted slope ratings… Sometimes even par sometimes 10 over…

  2. Isn’t that’s it all about. Good long drive. Super smooth iron shot. Putting so lame.

  3. Your not even close to a 5 bro lmao I watched you play there’s nothing about you that is a 5 your barley scratch

  4. “Played in 4 matches for the Sailfish on the season and posted a 79.58 average with a low round of 75 … Finished T-44 at the SSC Men’s Golf Championships on April 14-16 with rounds of 78, 80, and 76.” Maybe an 8 handicap but never a +5 stop lying. I’ll put 20k cash you can’t beat my buddy who’s an actual 5 handicap. Fuck it, I’ll put 100k on it.

  5. 1st off, nah. 2nd off you must mean 5 to +5 right? there is no way you mean to say you went from a near bryson dechambeau level skill to a low single digit handicap.

  6. Bro i went from a 5 to a 9 in a few years. Literally on the range making adjustments to my swing. Thinking it was trash. I spent no time on my wedges 50 to 100 yardages and no chipping practice whatsoever. I this year decided to get back to the mindset I had before all this. The pro at my club told me the swing is fine it is all in my head. He said just dont keep score for a while. Focus on playing the shot you have. Not the score or par or anything. And spend most of your time with your wedges and short game. Enough is enough bro. Back to the basics. I feel you man. 😢

  7. you were never a +5 though. you didn’t go from a +5 to a 5 that would be a serious deterioration of your handicap. +5 is elite. 5 is really good. idk what your index actually is but i find it hard to believe someone could have a 5 handicap and not understand that +5 is better than 5. also it’s not like you just got the numbers backwards, your old handicap would have been a higher number. this is all very confusing. were you a 10? 15? idk but the lack of understanding of what these numbers even mean makes it hard to believe you even keep a handicap at all.
