QUINCY, Ill. (KHQA) — With the start of Little People’s Golf Championships on Tuesday, the Quincy community is set to see more travelers in town.
Golfers come from all over the country and even internationally to play in the two-day tournament.
The extra golfers and families coming to town can lead to more business for places like R&R Golf.
Store Manager Ray Weast says players and their parents tend to come in for some extra supplies like golf balls, or even for a quick regrip on their clubs.
On top of some potential extra business, the festivities also offer a chance to further connect with an already tight knit golf community.
“One of the things we take a lot of pride in is actually saying, ‘hey, what’s your name, where are you from?’ We like to follow you on the scoreboard, see if you’re doing well or not. So, I think it’s very very fun to watch all these young people come back,” Weast said.
The final day of the tournament is on Wednesday.
