HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – University of Connecticut women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma helped raise money for Connecticut Children’s on Monday.

Auriemma participated in the annual “For the Kids Charity Golf Outing” in Hartford.

He told Channel 3 that he was excited about the tournament.

He said they had a dinner in conjunction with this tournament and raised over $400,000. With the tourney, the total should surpass $1 million.

Auriemma said it’s a rewarding event.

So it’s quite successful and Geno talks about how rewarding it is to have this event.

About 200 golfers finished lunch around noon on Monday. They planned to tee off afterward.
