[Applause] that’s one shot that was missing for in the US [Applause] so good [Applause] three backand winners already in this opening set from Zera well that’s really effective from Fritz wonderful change in direction [Applause] that’s great defense from ZV at the back he looked to have some problems when Fritz landed another one on that bear patch and he hasn’t dealt with those particularly well so far but did on that occasion and somehow turned that point around yeah and just missed the volley last year it’s also served for the first set there at 53 and a height of 15 to win it well that is a serve that’s been so effective over the course of that first set and appropriately it closes it out his seventh ace impressive [Applause] [Applause] what’s going on [Applause] [Applause] has not dealt well with those deep balls today that have landed in the uh in the foot marks center of the court just in front of the baseline here comes another one on this next fret shot there been a lot much better from going for depth on the turn himself 40 15 He’s looking for that extra depth again with that last forehand Fritz he’s been so consistent from the back of the core all week turn it was on the line it was a brilliant shot the crowd were worried it was going to drift wide twice as many in the second set as in the first albeit a longer set what a start what a start from the American oh brilliant from Fritz excellent on the line magnificent [Music] taylor Fritz is a quite magnificent champion here on the grass of Stutgart what a tiebreak he’s played to see off Alexander Zarev straight sets all the way for the American and here’s the champion to go with his three Eastborne titles on this surface and as ever as we transition onto a new surface in this congested ATP tour calendar we wonder whether we’re looking at a champion who might be lifting even bigger titles in the weeks to come
