Follow the action from the final round of the US Open.

Ryan Fox has put himself in the frame for a top-20 finish at the US Open with a strong final round at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh.

The course has been a brutal test for golfers over the past few days, with just 29 under-par rounds in the field across the first three rounds.

However, Fox made a strong start in his final round this morning and capitalised to finish with a one-under 69.

That saw him move to seven-over for the tournament and a decent chance of a top-20 finish with athletes still on the course.

Paired with Canadian Corey Conners, Fox found himself flying solo in his final round at Oakmont as Conners withdrew due to a wrist injury before the start of the round.

Conners sustained the injury in his opening round when he hit a hidden TV cable in the lip of a bunker, before aggravating the injury in his third round when hitting a ball out of a plugged lie.

After finding the native area off the tee on the par-four ninth, he had to take a drop and it turned into his first bogey of the day.

He also lost his streak of not having a three-putt for the tournament on the par-four 10th, giving himself a long putt for birdie but needing three attempts to get the ball in the hole.

While the back-to-back dropped shots halted the momentum he had built earlier in the round, Fox got one of those shots back straight away with a birdie on the par-four 11th.

A bogey on the par-four 17th saw him fall back to one-under, which was where he stayed with a par on 18.

Overall, it was a solid week for the Kiwi, who continued his run of making the cut in major championships. That stretch is now at 10 appearances, and he’ll look to make it 11 at The Open later in the year.
