today lots of people in the tweets in the direct messages are we talking golf yes the answer is yes and we will get you all set to bet the 2025 US Open it should be a dandy of a show we’ve got the degenerate who will be joining us in oh about 10 minutes from now at the degenerate weekly very very awesome Twitter account and a guy who I’ve gotten to know over the last few months so he fires on anything and I know that he’s still stewing about his Knicks in some way shape or form but I know Degenerate bets some golf so we’ll talk about that there’s a lot of love for Scotty Sheffller in fact I saw a tweet from David Perham today this is from ESPN bet there’s more money on Scotty Sheffller to win the US Open than on any other golfer combined think about that that’s a lot of bread and it’s not like there’s value in that price you’re seeing 270 280 this is the shortest US Open favorite since Tiger Woods in the early 2000s just to give you some context here and nobody nobody wants to talk about Rory Mroy i have heard more about Rory missing the cut this weekend than I’ve ever heard before what should we do about it so Degenerate joins me in 7:15 jeff Cely cut maker pod about 7:35 and then 750 ballpark it’s Corby Craig what we’re going to talk about I have no idea i never know i wanted to know what you’re betting though for the US Open obviously first tea tomorrow uh we’re going to get this underway at Oakmont which is one of the hardest courses across the country and I’m curious what you’re betting so if you want to leave us a comment you can do it here on YouTube live onx i wanted to uh share what we did over the weekend with Fox it was really cool and I’m not saying necessarily go back and watch it but Fox Sports had the Belmont Stakes which ironically enough was at Saratoga this year and it was kind of thrown together at the last minute but we did a digital broadcast on the Bear Bets platforms jeff Schwarz myself and a little bit of Bear Chris Felica if you didn’t see any of the AI generated images I’m sharing them now if you’re watching on YouTube and X this is an AI recreation this actually didn’t happen this was sort of a an illustration of what it would have looked like jeff and I getting to the end of our live six-hour broadcast there’s me on the left with the hair i think I look pretty good computerized and there’s big old Jeff Schwarz but at some point during the broadcast I ate a bet slip was not great you see that there an AI version of this dork eating a slip this is the owner of Bookham Dano and we asked him we asked him during one of our crowd sessions what do you like during a race how do you get ready when you’ve got all this on the line and his response was three shots of tequila a zen and a prayer bookham Dano came home in one of the races at Saratoga about a 250 horse 5 to2 but this guy was jazzed up and it was very fun to see that and the last one of course we naturally talked about Jeff fighting a 100 jockeys and there’s a very angry Jeff taking on all of these jockeyies at once he says he can do a bunch i always think that volume is more important the numbers are important one man one gorilla i like the masses either way um but as for the US Open uh I talked to Jeff Fineberg for this story on Fox and I think there are a couple interesting points here about how the market views Scotty Sheoffller and also what he can do to the other players down the board and I wanted to specifically focus on the top five and top 10 markets so as you can read or as I can talk and tell you Sheffller to finish top five is so expensive minus 150 i see on the high side there’s a minus 190 that’s for a top five finish at a major that’s where we’re at i’m not saying do it i’m just telling you that’s what it is top 10 try minus 390 on Scotty Sheffler they are [ __ ] taxing you and they know it and some people don’t care i know a lot of people that are parlaying Sheffller top five top 10 i personally am not going to bet plus 270 plus 280 look at Dashambo who’s the second favorite right now scotty top five minus 150 minus 190 dashambo top five plus 190 hello big difference there and top 10 for Dashambo is only minus 105 at DraftKings that’s it i love that bet that’s probably my favorite bet people always ask before a major what do you like what should I bet they want long shots they want guys 50 to1 80 to1 that’s not my style i want to bet on something that’s probably going to happen or at least has a good chance and is bankroll affordable bryson Dashambo who has been amazing at these majors in five of the last six majors first second second fifth and sixth he’s missed one cut one minus 105 that’s the bet for me that’s what I’m doing that’s my favorite bet i put my bets here at the bottom and they just wanted me to scale them accordingly with like a $100 budget or $100 bet being a big bet give or take so I went the Shambo top 10 they called it minus 110 consensus okay fair enough other books I saw minus 130 so get the best number i do like Bryce in the win but it’s a much smaller bet and then Jeff Sherman has been telling me about Harris English for a month jeff makes of course the golf numbers at the Westgate and he bet English to win at 150 to1 that number is long gone as it goes when you deal with Jeff but that doesn’t mean that you can’t look at him in other markets so I went English top 20 at two and a quarter and this one Jeff has been playing this even at this number which is still readily available harris English first round leader it is 70 to1 he likes English so how do I wiggle how do I bet English well I’m not going to take the outright number because it’s probably not going to happen but I can bet him top 20 and I can take him first round leader if he has the best score tomorrow that’s a 70 to1 bet in your pocket not bad that’s a little bet though relative to my position on Bryson Dashambo which is my biggest bet and it’s not 100 I assure you but you know how it goes in the content game um we’ll get more thoughts on this with the degenerate and with Jeff Cely but another thing that I wanted to touch on if I can for a couple of minutes is this disaster of a situation in Illinois and let me share this tab if you’re watching along this is the report from David Purum great sports betting reporter him and Patrick Everson are my favorites fanduel will be charging a 50cent transaction fee on every bet placed on its platform in the state of Illinois that begins September one this year the transaction fee is in response to a recent tax increase on sports books in Illinois duh let’s understand where it starts as Jeff Benson correctly responded don’t blame FanDuel blame the regulators and the politicians yes 100% this is the second year in a row where the state of Illinois has tried to hold the sportsbook industry over a rail and go to town they tried it last summer and they succeeded actually because they did that tiered tax structure and you got the books like draftings and FanDuel paying more tax because they take bigger handle so this time around long story short they decided at the wire at the end of session in Springfield Illinois they decided to wedge this through i don’t want to say privately but unknowingly to a lot of people to the lobbyists who didn’t know to a lot of the politicians that didn’t know we’re going to just jam this through at the last minute we’re going to do another tax okay and then before you know it it’s signed and it’s done fandal doesn’t want to do this draftkings doesn’t want to do this but these books are paying exorbitant money to begin with and now you have to pay even more money for the second straight year in a row you knew eventually it would roll downhill on the customer and here’s a really interesting breakdown of how this works i followed this account at the Sharp Place i trust the guy i trust the math and I have um seen some of the reactions to it and it it seems to be pretty legit so here’s an idea of what this does a $100 better at minus 110 on a 100 bets has to hit 53% to break even or get over the top and that is a net profit if you go 53% at minus110 you’re going to make $118 however if you add in this 50 cent fee to every bet you make that $118 becomes $68 well it’s only 50 cents what’s the big deal it’s 50 bucks at this rate and that’s just a $100 better the ROI according to the sharp plays drops 56 or 57.6% and that’s for a winning better hitting 53% i also think and I’ve talked to some guys who bet props and we’ll get into this with the degenerate if you’re betting 10 15 props a game like a lot of people I know like to do and do it pretty well that’s 50 cents per bet so if you make 20 prop bets that’s 10 bucks and if you do it every day do 10 times 30 that is $300 in fees you’re going to have to pay just to pay the popper just to play there nah don’t do it don’t do it how do you bet there how do you bet there if you’re serious about grinding out a profit I know most of you aren’t serious about making this a living but if you’re trying to at least make some money how do you pay a transaction fee every time it’s like going to the ATM and paying the fee there just a waste of money three bucks to take your money out five bucks to take your money out how about 10 if you’re in Vegas oh whatever i’m drunk i’ll pay 10 bucks take money out 10 times that’s a hundred it’s unbelievable man and this is my home state the big fear is that if it works in Illinois you’re going to have the governor of New York and the governor of Pennsylvania and the governor of you name it is going to go “Oh look how much more money they’re making look at what they’re getting let’s do the same thing and now you have sports books who have to do it in other states the irony to wrap it up is that legalization was supposed to get us away from the black market the local bookie the illegal market this [ __ ] is going to send them right back if it gets as bad as it could it’s unfortunate man it really really is all right enough of my BS let’s bring in one of my guys Degenerate at the Degenerate Weekly you are uh you’re in a pretty big state right you’re in New York or New Jersey correct i’m in I’m in New York yep it’s uh that state tax is already insanely through the roof can you imagine what you would do if it hit New York New Jersey and now you got to do this you got to pay the 50 cents or hell New York might try and make it a dollar for all we can you imagine like how would this affect your betting well I I mean it would affect my betting in the way that it would affect everyone’s which you kind of broke down really well it doesn’t seem like a significant amount of money at the time but you you then played out of the course over now we have 18 weeks in an NFL season and I I’m not good at betting NFL player props but I sure as [ __ ] love doing it and I you know I I’ll I’ll fire off maybe 8 to 10 in the 1pm games and then you try to you get down 4:00 and then the next thing you know Yeah i mean it’s a 20 to 30 bet uh Sunday just Sunday so and and I was somebody you know I’m in my late 30s now but from 20 years old to 30 years old I I was a minimum bet guy uh I was and again you know for the most part it was it was uh it was the illegal bookie thing but I can only my minimum bet was or $25 $15 i was using like a sportsbetting.com website back way back in the day where if you withdrew money they’d send you a check which one time it bounced and you had to fax over my ID which was crazy i think that’s the last time I use a fax machine but yeah I mean look like they I I’m I’m happy sports betting is legal i I I even I just remember it a few years ago where it wasn’t legal in the state of New York and I had to drive to New Jersey i d I paid a [ __ ] toll you know the Holland Tunnel i that’s 10 bucks each way you go in and out just to go to the sports book at the Meadowlands um so I’m like look I’m I’m not the the sports book are my enemies like type of guy because it is what it is they I’m I’m glad they’re in business i’m glad that I’m able to make a bet from my couch on my phone but it sucks i mean they got us by the balls i I I I just hopped in when you said it’s um I think it was Jeff Sherman or someone’s like you know it’s the it’s the politician it’s the regulators hate them first before you hate the sports book i’ve never liked politicians so they they never seem to make the right decisions and yes being in New York it’s amazing how the best city in the world is ran by some interestingly incompetent individuals but it is what it is i got us by the balls what am I going to do that’s a a perfect way to wrap it up i just wanted to show one more stat i just talked about the $100 better this is sort of a followup because as you can imagine to that tweet that I just alluded to the $100 better somebody responded to the sharp plays and said “So wait if someone had an average bet size of 20 or 30 bucks they would actually lose money hitting 53% in Illinois if they played at FanDuel.” Yeah and he responded with here it is the math is on the screen if you’re watching i’ll read it if you’re listening if it’s a $20 average bet at a 100 bets here’s what 53% win gets you you win 1060 you lose 1034 so your profit is 26 if you have the fee you pay the 50 in fees and you’re actually down money despite hitting 53% on a 100 bets it might not sound like a lot some people might not care but the math is math as they say my friend yeah if if I was I mean I’m not I’m not a very I don’t bet very large sums of money even still at at this current point you know $100 is my unit but yeah I I think it uh I think it really sucks for the amateur beginner novice better who’s also trying to do the right thing and probably betting within their means and betting you know what they’re can only afford and you know five bucks 10 bucks there’s a lot of people that bet that much and that [ __ ] adds up all right let’s get to some comments here we want to hear your bets if you’re following along this is from John Massie already have a Rory top 10 in pocket i think that’s the first person I’ve heard say that degenerate everybody’s short and then there’s a rumor now that Rory shot an 81 yesterday at a practice round he went from three to one to plus 220 to miss the cut and you’re like “All right here here it goes here it comes.” Uh I want to get your thoughts on that and definitely Jeff’s thoughts on that about Rory i look I’m not a Rory guy never have been but good lord when the when the mailman goes I don’t like Rory this weekend like oh okay uh David Frink Connor’s top 20 from Pam and from Bets and then my buddy Rob says Bryson over Rory also love Cor uh Corby being a regular the kid gets it and I love his market savvy so uh if you want to keep your comments coming in let us know what you’re betting for Oakmont at the 2025 US Open first bet you made was what for the golf so I’m not an early week better uh I I do my I do a show uh every weekday and we talk about it on golf on Wednesdays and I I’m I’m very I understand I miss very good numbers on golfers i think Bryson at one point was 12 to1 now he’s down to 7 to1 on FanDuel um there’s a lot of guys that have moved from like 65 to1 to 45 to1 it is what it is i understand i really can’t make up my mind very early in the week i have to really sit and simmer and and keep my ears to the streets which exactly is what you pointed out i can’t believe how how much Rory hate there is this week but you know what i talked to a guy who’s very smart and he put it he he he made me he made it make sense and I I didn’t even realize I must have missed this quote about Rory finding uh uh finding it hard to stay motivated after he won the Grand Slam and I understand he he he just recently missed the cut i get that but this just seems like one of those things as a sports better where you you don’t even look at uh the models and the analytics and you kind of just zoom out bird’s eye view it it sort of feels like you are buying low on one of the best golfers in the world when nobody wants him and actually I’ll take a step further it’s not even that nobody wants him i have never seen this so much in my entire life i’ve seen at least three tickets of Rory to miss the cut you never see that with Scotty you never see that with an a top golfer and this is Scotty would be would be what three to one now to win tournaments where Rory’s in rory would be what what was he 650 7 to1 this is the second best golfer on the on the market people are fading that’s crazy to me now I I don’t know if I have the nuts to go out there and single bullet Rory so at the same time I don’t want to act like I’m Mr contrarian smartest guy in the room but I’m certainly tempted to be that guy on an island with a Rory ticket when everybody else thinks he’s going to miss the cut and and and let me just say this what you just mentioned about him shooting an 81 is that what you just said on his practice round that’s the rumor that he shot an 81 yesterday let me tell you something i had [ __ ] Tony can I curse on this by the way [ __ ] yes okay i had Tony Fen I want to say a year and a half or two years ago i forget where it was exactly maybe somebody in this chat had Tony Feno and I remember hearing he set the course record on a practice round he shot like a 59 and I thought to myself “Oh hell yeah.” Because that was one of the first few the few times I did bet earlier in the week tony Tony Fen was my guy that [ __ ] missed the cut so I don’t give a [ __ ] about practice rounds i don’t give a [ __ ] if anything what you just said about Rory shooting at anyone almost makes me like him more but again with all that said I don’t have him in pocket i don’t have a bet placed on Rory i’m certainly thinking about it i haven’t done anything with Rory i’m just laying out the facts and here’s here’s the numbers at um the range I guess of of American sports book so on the high side to win he’s 14 to1 on the low end I don’t know if that API feed is up to date is he really plus 650 at Caesars i don’t I don’t think that’s right just boosted on bet 365 to 18 to1 and he was 6 to1 6 and a/4 650 at the Masters now I know the form isn’t great but everybody knows it everybody knows it I’m not saying bet him the win I’m looking again I’m looking at these markets top five you know 260 250 top five and then top 10 plus 130 plus 138 plus 123 don’t bet the 105 always get the best number this would be I think the time to play him in the exotics but I know people are definitely betting against him in the matchups it’s a polarizing handicap i’m certainly not saying fade him but I’m also not I’m not there yet to bet him at least yet maybe I’ll wake up at 4 in the morning sweating my ass off and pop a couple of bets in but I’ve never seen it like this with Rory i’ve I’ve never seen it and it it doesn’t mean that it’s right or wrong it just it is what it is uh Patrick Everson chiming in here jeff Sherman definitely got me on Harris English as did Wes Reynolds did you uh did you see that floating around harris English is one of the one of the hottest names um I’m trying to remember who it was at the Masters there was a not not Shaley but it was it was somebody in that second tier third tier and everybody was talking about him and they missed the cut so when everybody says Harris English I get nervous but I I did bet I did bet first round leader 70 to1 man I had to because if it doesn’t if it doesn’t get put in by me and it wins I’m never going to hear the end of it ever oh I don’t blame you i have so many of those bets too where it’s like okay if all if I I always say all my homies are on this and if they’re partying I want to party too so it’s like I just I consider it like my cover charge to to go to the bar to go to the club with the friends like I just want to be in there if everybody’s having a good time even if I don’t necessarily like it but I’m with you i just get to I get concerned sometimes when everybody’s on the same guy but I will say this I don’t know how long you’ve been betting golf i’ve been betting golf since probably 2018 and I I I had like the best beginners’s luck run of my life starting in my golf betting career my last year and a half has been abysmal but what I have found and keeping my ear to the streets again and following is in golf betting you have a lot of you have a lot a lot of smart intelligent individuals who go who make their picks based off of models right and I don’t know everybody seems like they’re making their own models they make their own tweaks whatever it is I don’t have a model okay not that I’m anti-model but for for a period of time there was a year to two years where I felt like anytime I heard all the model guys on a guy I wanted to be on the opposite i wanted to be on the guy that I thought was a pretty good golfer that was not getting any love and I was finding some success this year being that guy has done nothing for me i feel like the model guys and the model bettererss are having a lot of success most recently was Minu Lee do you remember when Min Wule won i felt like everybody was on Minui was that at the Houston he was like 45 to1 yeah Jeff Cely had him we’ll have him in any minute he had him he had been what so Sely I feel like he’s a smart guy i listen to Von a lot i love VO i know he comes on regularly and he is probably one of the first few like sharp uh golf cappers that I heard so I don’t really know who sets the tone right like like Right Angle Sports like you know one big service sets up a a pick and like I feel like the market is so copycat and reactive so I don’t know who it is but let me just tell you right now I got [ __ ] in my friend circle who I don’t even think know who Harris English is talking about they’re on Harris English so that is a cause for concern but this year more so than any other year I feel like those model plays and the people that that uh are popular are hitting so I would not talk anyone off of of leaning into that and and tailing that i mean whatever is making sense whatever is fitting those models is doing uh better this year than I can remember so am I on Harris English not necessarily but again if you were to play it because the smart guys are telling you he’s their long shot [ __ ] go for it before we get to Jeff Sely I’d love your favorite bet and I’d love how you’re attacking or not attacking the Sheffler price in the Sheffller situation so I’m going to leave Sheffller alone um fun fact I actually nailed Sheffller to win by eight exactly eight i said if there was a spread market on golfers I would have taken him minus four and a half uh not last tournament but the one I think the the two two before that he won but anyways I’m going to leave him alone i like John Rob and unfortunately I don’t know if you follow the uh golf tips checker who uh tracks all the golf cappers on Twitter he has a chart on who’s most tipped meaning who do the golf cappers have the most of right in their cards john Rom is the most tipped golfer this week which I was shocked by bryson totally get makes all Bryson makes all the sense in the world but again these golfers that make sense are hitting i like John Rom if you look at how well John Rom’s been playing there’s no reason not to get involved with John Rom in some way shape or form and I feel like he’s finally got that fire under his ass again where it’s like live golfers kind of get checked out a little bit i mean we see what happened to Dustin Johnson and Brooks Keepa i don’t know if Jeff Cely is in here waiting but I know that he loves Brooks Kepka and Majors um I’ve been off the Brooks Kepka train for a long time but John Rom seems to have that fire again he’s still 12 to1 he hasn’t had that big move like Bryson maybe maybe he’s getting tipped and people are on him but the big bets aren’t on him i don’t know that’s my top guy and then I got to go with limp dick Shane Lowry i This is a guy I would love to get a beer with he just cannot win a golf tournament like I know he’s won he can’t win is he going to win a major has he ever won a major i’m not really sure is he going to win this tournament absolutely not but am I gonna bet him still in Rory he’s going to be like 3% owned and then you build a lineup of whatever you want around him and try to win a million dollars that I think is one way to play Rory and then you mentioned the boost i just parlayed Rory because I I’m I’m not on Rory this week at all but actually you when you when you mentioned the boost I just parlayed Rory and the Pacers money line tonight 50 Now I got a 50 to1 Rory ticket if the Pacers win tonight so that that I figure is a decent way to play Rory so those are my two ways i’m I have one ticket in the DraftKings Millie with Rory in it and that parlay you just mentioned other than that I’m I’m full fade on Rory i love this sely sitting in the green room listening to us talk firing more bets like that’s chicken dinner that’s how we do jeff um I I 10 market at minus 105US 110 we know how difficult it is to win outrights you know more than anybody how difficult it is but to have a guy who is built for courses like this built for the US Open game and has been so good in the majors last six right five top six finishes in the last six how do you not entertain that bet at minus 105 minus 110 top 10 for Bryson i think it’s a great bet i do i think it’s a great bet um I’ve I’ve laded Bryson top 20 10 five and win um and I’ve parlayed them so many ways I can’t even talk about it i mean but but but I but I and but I and with what I really like you know you mentioned bet 365 earlier you can you can parlay eachway bets in there right i think those are a fairly fun thing to do so um I Yeah no but I think Bryson top 10 if you’re going to make one bet that’s probably the best bet to make for the price in all honesty Sammy I I think that’s a terrific bet go ahead buddy my turn yep okay Jeff so I’ve been listening to you on VSON for a very long 70 to1 um he shot an unbelievable low round i don’t remember the tournament you probably do um he came on my radar at the Olympics when Xander Schoffley won not this last round but the one before I believe then I actually went down to uh God I forget the name of the tournament maybe it was the Honda Classic at the time and I was sweating Shane Lowry and it started raining and Shane Lowry melted and Seb Straa caught him from behind so I told myself Sebstraka’s got that dog in him and no pun intended he’s from Georgia he’s a Georgia bulldog so then I start hearing you are a Septraka guy and I feel like you always want a smart guy kind of aligned with you on someone a player a team a coach or whatever so in my friend group I always said hey I’ve got cutmaker Jeff who gives his stamp of approval on Sebstraka now I want to be careful on betting Sebstraka and continuing to bet on him while also not giving a lot of money back because I have done that with Colin Morawa i got people in my ear telling me “Den this is Sebstraka week.” It always concerns me when they’re the ones telling me it’s Sebraa and I’m not the one tell ones telling them but I have to know where you stand on Sebstraka in this tournament so I bet him it’s 66 to1 early um but to be really really really honest with you I don’t love it and the only reason I don’t love it is because um I worry about his accuracy off the tea and I worry that he’s going to be hacking out of the rough a little bit his his caddy was on my podcast and I mean I mean I I I you’re right i love Sebstraka one of my my favorite players on tour i worry about his putting on these greens and I worry about these his accuracy with the driver and and the best example of accuracy with the driver I can give you with Seb Straka is he just freaking shanked a freaking drive on on his final hole of the Masters to miss the cup I won this week this this year so like in the in the biggest moment when he’s got to hit an accurate drive he didn’t do it and and so look if it’s a ball striker course and you need a guy to make a wedge from 125 yards and the rough doesn’t matter I’m all in on Seraka but this week you you can’t just He’s not a bomb and gouge guy there again I I bet him because of the price but I bet it’s small i love Sebstraka i don’t love Sebstraka this week okay so you love him but you don’t love him this week that’s an interesting tactic interesting tactic i love him but not this week that might be the title of the show and playing him but it’s got to be a numbers play I’m assuming exactly exactly i mean and and honestly it’s a FOMO play right i mean I like I I What would I do like what would I I This is the first time ever I didn’t I have not bet Brooks Kepka and I’ll probably wake up and there’ll be two minutes before he tease off and I’ll bet him and then I’ll immediately regret it so but I tell you what I did do i bet DJ plus 105 over Keepa in a matchup that might be the craziest thing I’ve done in a long time because if anybody gives fewer [ __ ] than Kepka it might be DJ but the the thing about the interesting thing about DJ is and I know it’s Liv he’s shown a little bit of form here lately um on Liv a tiny tiny bit and he has played really well at this course obviously he won here in the past so I feel like if there’s anything DJ might get up for a little tiny bit maybe it’s this guess obviously I’d love to get Jeff’s thoughts on the Pacers uh I am somewhat invested on the Pacers in this series ben Griffin is 75 to1 and I feel like he’s been the second best golfer in the world the last like three weeks and I’m not saying that the market should adjust and make this guy 20 to1 but my will I lose sleep at night for not throwing a small wager on a guy who’s playing really really good golf would be Ben Griffin so I feel like I have to have something on him at 75 to one are you all the way in or all the way out or all the way out on Ben Griffin no no no i I have not bet Ben Griffin but if I can make the same case for Ryan Fox fair right and so I think if you’re going to bet Ben Griffin bet Ryan Fox and I think if you’re going to bet one of them bet him in the first round leader market because they’re not going to win the US Open but but they could be your first round leader and I and Ryan Fox is a guy who’s a notoriously decent first round leader play so I don’t I don’t hate either one of those guys in the first round leader market or even a top 20 to be honest with you i need your thoughts on Rory we got D Jones already it’s such a fascinating situation everybody wanted to bet him to win the Masters because it was the elusive fourth Grand Slam everybody everybody rory Rory Rory Rory Rory now it’s quite the opposite it’s a 180 a lot of people say 360 and it’s a bad example because all you do is come completely full circle it’s a 180 not a 360 nobody wants them they’re leaving them at the [ __ ] firehouse jeff what do you do with these Rory prices 16 to1 boosted to 18 to1 to win decent top five decent top 10 plus price in matchups what are you doing with Rory that’s why I said the beginning i I just buy I mean man I have a I faded him in every matchup known to man but I did just throw 50 bucks on him in a parlay with the Pacers money line right because now he’s 50 to1 you throw him 18 to1 on that odds boost on bet 365 with Pacers money line he’s 50 to1 and I throw him in one lineup in DraftKings in the millie maker because he’s going to be 3% owned so you can play him with Harris English you can play him with Bryson Dash Shamboo who are going to be all the chalk and throw him in there with Rory and now you got a a you know that’s a bet that’s live to win the million you know DFS play that’s allowed to win a million bucks if he gets there so I I’m not gonna play him in any matchups i’m fading him i bet Rahm against him bryson against him i’ll bet anybody against him on a under $2 but I there’s there’s a price for everything right and to your point he’s a world class golfer he’s one of the top five players in the world something weird’s going on but to your point earlier that you said if when everybody’s zigging if you’re going to zag and the there’s one guy you could do it on it’s maybe Rory i think you find a creative way to do it and those are two of the ways that I that I would do it the way I just do with parlay and playman and DFS i got one more question I want to get to here in the chat and then we could talk about your Pacers and what’s going on there a lot of love on the Thunder money line i just I got an email that it’s one of the most popular bets at every sports book thunder money line and you know they’re whacking that in every parlay tonight for sure massie wants to know “If we’re talking accuracy on a US Open course is Morocawa in play?” Anybody can take it yeah I mean he’s he’s fine i mean I don’t you never hate Morawa but I don’t really love Morau Kawa lately i don’t think he’s been um I don’t know he’s he’s just not somebody who’s on my radar i tell you who’s actually you know because he clubs down a lot but I mean uh Harris English actually fits that bill really really well and there’s other guys I would prefer i prefer Neman and who’s also probably a little higher priced or comparably priced to Morawa there are other guys in that range that are accurate drivers that I would take over Morawa that I just trust more to win a golf tournament these days okay any interest Morawa yes or no oh my god morawa is a guy I fell in love with uh as when I first got into golf betting i think I I forget where it was 30 to1 overseas right british Open or something like that did he did he win like four or five years ago i I I thought and I didn’t realize this was such a popular take but I was like “Oh he’s the next Tiger.” Like he’s going to go on a an unreal run i’ve given so many units back on Morawa I can’t even think twice about him but I do have one more question now that I think about it jeeoff I think you’re a Levik fan as well if I’m not mistaken i think that was your guy for the Masters not that I’m trying to uh bring that up and and uh as a as a losing bet or anything but I I can see why you or anybody would love Levig um I’ve been on and off of him a little bit uh the one time I played him was that damn tournament that I think got suspended uh out west i think it was last year or something where he finished second or something um I think Windham Clark went like super low or whatnot but I I feel like I’m not really hearing anything about Levig this week and it’s probably for good reason because I don’t know he hasn’t really been in great form his short game kind of stinks but everything that I understand from this course is you want distance off the tea you you want to be accurate right you don’t want to be in the rough but Levig’s really good off the tea and and so I’m just kind of surprised that I don’t know maybe it’s just not the right number i’m not really hearing anybody on on Levig and I figured you’re a Levig guy so I just kind of want to get your take on that yeah they sharp guys are on Levig for sure at 30 oh they are okay oh yeah oh yeah yeah yeah and I’m I’m on him at 30 that the the price is you might never get this price again at 30 you got to bet them i bet him also bet 365 has me in the eachway market at 28 i love that um and and the thing the thing with him is is you mentioned his form his form had been right he was seventh in the Masters obviously had a chance to win and then [ __ ] the bed had a couple tough weeks but he was 16th in Memorial and 13th last week in Canada so he’s showing signs of life this might be the last time we see him at 30 to1 in a major and he he reminds me a lot of a young DJ without maybe the hookers and blow maybe he has lots of hookers and blow i don’t know but but maybe maybe not as many much and and honestly like he is I think he’s a tremendous play at 30 to1 very a ton of value so yeah definitely definitely take a look at at Levig i I’ve already bet him at 30 to1 um and then there there’s a couple other guys further down the board I think will be really interested in Hallebertton points if you want to talk about what model guys are on everybody loves his under assists because there’s some metric out there that the Thunder have not allowed uh a player to have over eight assists or something like that i actually I’m not necessarily saying I’m fading it or or betting on it miles Turner is going to be my guy tonight i really like how he showed up in game one of this series he really he played very well defensively too i mean he made some key plays uh on uh on Cadet towards the end of that game he had like backto black backtoback stops um which Sheffller and you know pretty decently on to Shambo as well and then there’s a significant drop off in tickets and money uh to Rory Mroy who you’ve all addressed a couple of times today with uh with regard to that but I I will throw another name out that I I think came up i’m not sure if it was cutmaker Jeff or or the Jen that that mentioned it but uh but Ludvig Alberg I mentioned him to Jeff Sherman yesterday and again Jeff Sherman VP of risk at the Superbook and he said that’s a guy who’s definitely taking some some action as the week comes along and that’s why they moved him from 25 to one into 20 to1 i think he’s toggled between those two numbers a couple of times but um he’s it just seems in most ever since that performance at the Masters a year ago he’s been kind of a a bit of a trendy play maybe a sharp play as well because most people aren’t really betting this uh the public isn’t really betting this until week of but uh but he did say they they saw something there and normal week I’ll play two maybe three outrights and that’s that’s that’s kind of it i’ll mix it up with maybe some some round scores if I think the course is going to play soft on a particular day if I think pin positions are what they are but I definitely let it rip a little more this week i got a I got a I got a stack of I think three outrightes and then I have more like just random props than I’ I’ve probably ever had so come Sunday I’m either going to be rich as hell or I’m gonna be begging for soup under the overpass so um I can start wherever where do you want me to go your favorite bet you see it and you go “God I love that bet.” All right I’ll start with my my favorite outright bet at least at the uh at what what current prices are dictating so I bet this guy like a month and a half ago at at 120 he’s 75 to1 right now and I still think like if you have one bullet to fire for the US Open you’re not a big golf better want to throw 10 20 bucks down and just just ride somebody uh I think Ben Griffin is still the best number on the board at at 75 to one um kid is just becoming a superstar before our very eyes uh got his first like fake win at the Zurich which is the the team event with with Andrew Novak about a month and a half ago and then ever since then he’s turned into like Scotty Scotty Sheffler Jr last three starts he took second at the memorial uh and battled pretty well with Scotty on Sunday won the Charles Schwab the week before that uh and took eighth at the PGA Championship and you look at his stat profile it is just a sea of fluorescent green in in virtually every statistical category um this is a guy that early in his career really relied on short game prowess and long irons he was never that much he was never a a longer driver of the golf ball so kind of had to rely on everything else in the last four months he’s put on like 25 pounds of muscle and is pretty much purely focused on hitting nukes with his driver which he does now and then you pair that up with an already elite short game and it it makes sense why he’s had the the emergence that he’s had recently so I’m a I’m a huge believer in this kid i’ve bought up virtually all the Ben Griffin stock for the next year i bet him at the open i bet him for the majors next year for whatever he was listed for but again if you got one outright bet you have one bullet in the chamber i think Ben Griffin at 75 to one is is probably the most disrespectful number on the board this dude is a top five player on planet Earth right now and I think he’s ready for the moment and Kenny to your point you give the 75s go get the 75s while you can because other books in the market 66 and a rogue 50 at Caesars i got people all the time well why do I need more than one account well here’s a perfect example if you’re watching on the screen right now 75 75 70 70 uh 66 and 50 so a $25 range between the best book and the worst book on Ben Griffin and if you’re not getting the best of the number I don’t know what you’re doing i saw him on a podcast was it with Rigs at Barcel yeah yeah actually I I listen to that too yeah he goes I’ll take plus four i’ll be four over and be happy i’m like Jesus man that’s that’s what one of the guys who’s locked in right now was thinking four over is not a bad week i know he’d probably make a lot of money probably be top 20 or so if everything goes to plan and this course is a nightmare but um he’s sitting there saying after a couple of wins in the last month “Yeah I’ll take four over at Oakmont.” Four over is fine he uh I I think what’s what’s funny about him too is like on a course like this like it’s it’s going to drive everybody crazy i mean it’s it’s I think undoubtedly the hardest course on planet Earth so it’s just a matter of like yeah who can play good golf and also like who can keep their head on straight throughout the process and and not bury themselves like I think at the end of the day it’s just like a lot of it is just what you have between the years and sort of the belief you have in yourself and like maybe to a fault but like this is the most confident guy on the course right now and I think like in a weird way if you if you strip away all the odds and we are just we’re just drafting who we think is going to win this tournament like I think he’d be like the fourth or fifth guy that I picked regardless of the odds so at 75 to1 it was it’s just a no-brainer so he’s uh he’s my favorite outright the only other guy I took like near the top of the board um which I typically don’t do like I’m I’m usually like the 50 to1 or higher range us Open you you kind of got to bite your teeth and pick somebody up there because more likely than not that’s where it’s going to be uh and I went with Xander at 22 really just on the number than than anything else i feel like he’s been 10 to 15 to one in virtually every tournament for three years and because of that I’ve avoided him and he’s finally drifted down to the you know the the the 20 plus range and the only concern I have is with the driver like every other aspect of his game is trending to where it was last year when he when he rattled off two majors and I just think if he can hit a few extra fairways this week again he’s he’s got the dog in him he’s he knows what it’s like to win a major championship the the US Open experience speaks for itself i know uh Patrick was on here talking about you know the experience that Harris English has i mean Xander Schoffley has been the best US Open player of somebody who hasn’t won one in the last decade so at 22 I clicked him and then if you got like literally a dollar to burn and you want to just light it on fire uh I bet Chris got her up at 500 to one he was my just hey if [ __ ] gets crazy uh give me the guy that hits it further than everybody and can make some putts so those are the three outrights I currently have i came across Kenny’s work gez two three years ago you were just betting guys to to get like double doubles and you were wheeling them with other guys that get double doubles in basketball and then I think you hit a couple three-leg home run parlays and I’m like this guy is a maniac like he’s just finding these these wheelhouse bets like finding the home run probability and the double double probability and it was like guys that hit this assist number with three other guys that hit this rebound number and all of it coming together i’m sure there was some correlation there but you had you had some massive tickets there were there were some tickets where you were betting like 500 to win 10 grand and you know 600 to win 17 i’m like “God this this guy’s a maniac.” Corby I know who Kenny is i know who he is yeah tell me more about the name that you butchered though that’s what I want to hear about i don’t know anything i’m going to shoot that to Kenny but I’ll say two things um first one is a comment second one’s a question because I was trying to bet as we were doing this um PPHs are are 50 to1 by the way so it helps to have um a lot of books the first thing is like yeah I mean when I first saw Kenny like I saw all these long shots I’m like dude like I must be just seeing the ones that like people don’t see the other ones i will say from a firsthand experience like Kenny’s a great friend of mine and like he’s one of the smart like I’m not gonna talk about a ticket that he he called me and told me about the other day but like he understands where sports books make errors and um it is it is funny to say the least we’ll just say that it’s a different type of betting than you and I Sam um but it’s unique and and yeah he wins more than us is what you’re saying he wins it helps him get a new fancy basement so um it does help with the new fancy basement uh I want to stop you there though there is there’s no universe where I I I win more than Courtney like yeah I’ve hit some cool stuff and you know because because the odds are big and shiny and the payouts are big and shiny like I I do think like yeah that ticket’s going to go more viral than Corby going on a 19 and1 baseball straits run but like I’m not going to Corby’s a better better than me like I’m not going to pretend like I like I have this this big secret here but I have had what the hell i have had I’ve had a good amount of success i’m I’m I’m thankful to be able to do what I do and I’m just you know trying to ride it until the wheels fall off and and thankfully uh you know five years later it hasn’t happened just yet well all right one question i want to matchups for Xander and for Ben Griffin um on Novig not not a not a plug but it looks like there’s a ton of liquidity on Xander on every matchup he has so I come here with a question Kenny because I can bet he’s pretty big the liquidity agrees with you they like Xander do you like There’s There’s three matchups you can bet do you like Xander versus Rory minus 10 uh you like Xander minus 27 against Shane Lowry or Xander minus 12 versus Colin Morawa uh I I think I would I think I like the Morawa one the most i don’t I don’t bet a lot of golf matchups just because certainly like just the level of variance in golf is just through the roof right i just like like Xander can miss the cut and at a venue like this like I truly wouldn’t be surprised and I feel like in a week like this like you’re going to see scores that are quite literally all over the map i mean like an eight is a possibility on any given hole and I think just because of like the the sheer variance on a track like this I don’t I don’t usually play the matchup game all that much um it’s funny if you asked me two days ago I think I I I probably would have taken the the match up against Rory just based on the form that he’s in and even just like the vibe he was giving off in interviews and stuff like that and then um I follow a couple guys that their whole business is they uh give him a plug uh Venturik’s big fans of those guys work they essentially go to every tournament watch all the practice rounds and just document everything they see from every golfer that they see um and they said Rory today looked absolutely incredible like a complete a complete 180 from what we saw at the Canadian Open so I don’t really know what to do with that i mean at I mean at 16 to1 that’s the best number you’re ever going to get on Rory Mroy like probably ever again let alone in a major so I I I did think about it but I I think I’m just going to sit on the sidelines and just see if the entire industry was wrong because everyone crossed him off their list after after RBC and I I I I think he is very much in play this week so long-winded way to answer your question but I think of those three I’d rather fade more the most yeah and here I am just loading into Dashambo to be top 10 at minus 105 that’s where I’m at just buttering my bread with Bryson top 10 that’s all I care about this weekend i’ll play some with you i’ll play if the ship’s going down I’m going down with it what am I supposed to do if there’s no chicken dinner i don’t think it’s going down this guy is built for a course like this his majors have been insane i and you know I hear a lot of talk about you got to fade this guy and fade that guy and bet this long shot and bet that long shot and I’ll just take a guy who’s built for US Open golf and has been as locked in as anybody in the last six majors so I need top 10 i don’t need top five i don’t need outright just top 10 minus 105 go ahead Corby wiping my nose as I bet um some Bryson Dambo top 10 it’s funny i feel like with golf I usually like uh like the the one Twitter account like the Golf Checker or whatever and like I I do like those guys but they essentially they take all the tips they get from every every Joe Twitter capper and essentially just aggregate it all and they give you like here are the most tip guys on a given week and like more often than not like I’m I’m not intentionally doing it but like if I see somebody that I like in that most tip section like I feel pretty bad about it like I don’t like if there’s consensus around a couple of guys and I feel like this week like I know Not to pick on Patrick because like I I I understand why everyone loves him but like I I think Harris English is like the most tipped offer this week and yeah like I understand the past US Open experience i like that the form he’s in i get why he should set up nicely here but like there’s just never in a million years is a chalky Harris English like going to go to pay dividends like I just I don’t know if I see it and I feel like on the flip side of that the entire ind industry seems to be anti- Rory and one other guy that I I haven’t bet I I don’t I haven’t done anything with him and I I feel like I have to and I’m I’m running out of time now there has never been more anti Brooks Kepka sentiment than there is going into this to the point where he’s like not even being discussed like everyone has officially crossed him off and like in this event at this venue he would have been like eighth to one like three years ago i get that his game is is not what it used to be but I don’t know like I look at the data and like to me it doesn’t seem like it’s that far off like I know the live results haven’t been there but like again he didn’t really win virtually any regular PGA Tour events either he showed up at majors he his entire training regimen is the peak at the right time and I don’t know I think on a course that is like it starts and finishes with your ability to just nuke your driver and stay in the fairway and despite the rest of his game being average at best he’s still hitting his driver incredibly well so I’ve been staring at Brooks Kepka at 60 to 70 to1 now for like three days I haven’t bet it yet but I just again I haven’t heard anybody talk about Brooksie and I guess understandably so but I think because of that it it makes me want to get there because I I just if if Brooks comes out and shoots like one under Thursday and is like at the top of the leaderboard I I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I if I didn’t have it so you might be a last minute ad before we uh let you go Kenny I want to share a comment from the chat this is from Ricky Pucks kenny’s background looks like Shawn Ali’s dream so there’s that and uh I think I can help i wanted I wanted to kind of tell the story and have Corby add his uh chocolate sauce and sprinkles on top but I can help in uh in college football with some quarterback information there was one time though I I called Corby this would have been a Wednesday night Thursday morning right around 1:00 so depending on where you live it’s Wednesday depending on where you live it’s could be Thursday and uh Corby’s sleeping of course because it’s 1 in the morning and I call him three times knocked out and I’m texting him i’m like “Wait dude wake up wake up.” We had the UNLV a UNLV quarterback quitting on the team remember he quit Luka it didn’t come out till like noon the next day no it didn’t come out till Friday it came out Tuesday because nobody That’s right because I was like Sammy are you are you [ __ ] at 1 in the morning nobody believes they’re like “Wait UNLV’s in the top 25 they’re 3 and 0 this kid’s getting NIL deals.” My buddy goes “Sam he’s never playing there again.” So we loaded up on UNLV on the on the other side rather i fear they were playing And it turns out unfortunately Kenny the backup was [ __ ] better and they didn’t matter but I mean we had quarterback one at UNLV not only not playing but quitting the team and leaving the program it happened uh but Corby the information didn’t matter because UNLV uh still trucked the other team hey but that’s that’s information I would still bet on a hundred times out of 100 man it happens what can you do yeah this is what um listen this is what Sam’s good for drinking a whole bunch of beers and giving some good information this that’s why we get along so well well Sam make sure you get my number from Corby because if you call him he doesn’t he doesn’t answer i will be awake at 1 in the morning because I don’t sleep i didn’t sleep anyway and now I’ve got a three-month old so I definitely don’t sleep so you got something despite the fact that I may have stiffed your DMs two years ago and I again I apologize for that don’t be afraid to call me because I will course well now he knows now he knows Corby i got bullets here so now he’s Yeah it it was great yeah call me first for here but um yeah so one interesting thing about that and you kind of bring this all full circle is I know there’s an NBA game tonight who cares about the NBA sam we are two months and and 12 days college football i I start my I start my prep in 12 days so excited about that um we’re gonna have another good season we have some chicken dinners i mean I This is This is the first season since I’ve been alive that um Cam Rising won’t be playing so unfortunate to see him retire uh I’m going to have to handicap Utah quarterback it’s going to be kind of strange there i heard he’s still a game time decision cam Rising he might play but he might not play so Kenny Kenny funny story so Sam sends the quarterback info uh every week he’s he’s one of the best aggregators of quarterback info there is and every single week he’ll put a different adjective for why cam rising is hurt it it just says can rising like like menitis doubtful it’s like no no no what what I what I started doing was it would
