man who has been a big part of building Minnesota Disc Golf for a long time uh the guy formerly owned the property built it in what it is today Gail Visca gale bruce you are looking good my man tell me boys 35 36 years old now yeah plus a few oh forgot to uh announce we got Richard here yeah we had to rename the bear after Rick who got his third win last year so I figured it was appropriate so yeah meet meet Black Bear Richard that’s our boy with all the initials of all the former champs we got this is some epic epic names here all right second guest we’ve got a guy who just got fresh off the plane from Sweden playing the Ali Open two weeks before that he was in the Czech Republic came back for that the guy has been all over the place he’s been killing it killing it ezra Aerhold it has been too long my friend yes sir jetlagged i hope I get that in jetlagged your brain’s off it just things start flowing you know i feel loopy i feel like it’s like I have too much positivity right now hole that is relatively simplistic in calm wind but when the wind picks up this can be a pretty tough challenge you want to get a lot of distance to make your approach shot easier as you go across the OB waterway uh right now we got a right to left crosswind so discs can find them their way skipping OB but uh it’s also just a nice hole to get one out of your hands ripping down the fairway and let the journey begin play some golf too that’s inspiring stuff what oh sorry you just call me in you call me in honor let’s do it it’s my course let’s go y’all [Applause] all right i didn’t really ruin we do have a tournament coming up i suppose we should try to practice if you don’t feel comfortable with the shot throw again do it yeah I almost did what a freaking guy dude he’s a goat yeah I’ve today there’s only two holes at B who’s this guy b a gave you that one cool let’s just play the new one all right so we’re going to play the new ones yeah let’s play you got to do the the the spin flip again you know uh just make sure i haven’t played the B pins is that cool if we play those okay so there’s two of them either yours or breakdown two B pins oh do it all right hole three at the Black Bear we got the beautiful Mississippi River to our left um this is one of my favorite holes we got this towering trees creating this beautiful fairway um some of these guys are throwing mid-ranges i’m still throwing distance driver your boy um this is the first year that we got an A and a B pin the B pin is exactly pin high to the A pin but it’s just tucked on the right side this year um we carved out out some trees and branches on the right so that if you do miss right you can go down in the riverbed but create a little texture so hope you guys like it that’s where we’re playing right now yep bin all right a breakdown here in hole 16 and the other B pin just a slightly shorter placement what an angle that’s That’s nearly splitting the two that’s a good shot that’s perfect just do that all three rounds yeah then I Yeah I got put at both of them all right wonderful like this good to know shot it is yeah right like you can’t just hold it you guys can Okay keep think in the world yeah i don’t know if it would rank that high for me but top 10 for sure like just awesome course really fun to play not Not quite as long as like some of the American courses but I think that’s how European courses usually do it except for the monster right that one’s different that one’s long and and placement yeah yeah it’s Americanized it’s a good name but uh it’s a good name the tea pretty tight gap as it just the trees keep getting grown in so you want to get in the exact perfect distance to where you can actually hit hit that like secondary fairway up to the basket and if you’re not in the right spot it’s almost impossible if you’re all in the right spot it’s still difficult tight gap small ceiling and uh just you got to be precise so good luck to Jaw thank you all just pumped me up so much i remember I remember just like he would throw a shot and everyone would just be going nuts i would throw a little bit better shot and I’d get like a couple golf claps and I remember I was using that as fuel yeah I remember that was on Father’s Day and Skelly’s dad was catting for him and that was that was one of the best battles oh my gosh I saw them at Portland Open last week it was cool to see those guys you saw Timmy nice and his dad yeah yep always the biggest smiles you’re going to see oh yeah i love Timmy god your shot was so perfect you hugged that tree legs right the angle is so specific and it’s so narrow that if you come up short there’s really very very little ways to get creative and still make that shape on the way to the basket so uh the only other way to cheat the hole is a great drive and then going over the top but not everyone has that so uh the best play is probably just the straightest shot you have at 400 plus feet and then try to your best shot at that gap but this is a good birdie to get really really good birdie to get oh you’re a different man Kale all right i I don’t normally This will be my doubles play but I typically go forehand here but I’m You gonna go back i’m gonna try to go backhand on it and try to get into position so this is one of the ones that Simon want to change so you see those cedars in the middle of I got a decision to make on if I’m going to go over the water on the second shot or lay up so um for some people they’ll be able to go hiser on the second shot but a lot of people will be going wanted to get rid of hole five big time which is that short wooded hole so uh he’s putting down all the money he can make some changes that’s what I say all right so we got uh five under for us three under for these guys it’s going to be a close battle going into the back nine some new holes on the back n just really this hole is new right this is it this is it so the last change you’re going to see that in a minute when you come around for the back n some OB added I think and some OB added yeah yeah made it a little bit tighter in some spots but the holes are pretty much the same just new OB
