coverage of this PDGA tier and disc golf pro Q Series event hosted by the Lincoln Flying Disc Club in Lincoln Nebraska and as I mentioned on the front nine Rover West the original disc golf course in Nebraska taking a look at our sponsors for the event here shout out to everybody who contributed to making this another successful year at Star City special thanks to Dirty Birdie Disc Golf supporting our Roper West course and uh providing a sweet players pack suite of items for the second year in a row for amateurs and Ace Run Pro for providing the drone footage you can find lead card coverage of Star City on the Ace Run Pro channel as we look at our card here for the day Jonathan Fletcher from Fairberry Nebraska 2017 champion and Nathan Bachmann from Sou Falls South Dakota shout out the Sou Falls squad everrowing contingent logan Harpool back again from Valley Center Kansas two-time winner of this tournament in the past hunting for another one got a two-year drought and rounding out the card Caleb Bruce caleb’s been coming here for a few years now excited to have him back [Music] heading into hole 10 starting off this back nine got a par three 404 ft ob lines the left side coming up to the property line down the fence you got a mando on this tree on the right got to stay left of that so it really forces this straight shot at 400 ft few trees to contend with as you get up here you don’t want to saw it off you don’t want to turn it over could be a shot that all these guys have but we’ll see what happens and luckily the wind at this point at least uh pretty down for him our bull swinging that a bit wide fighting through all the deep look at it there avoided the restricted space so not punished just not up on the green like you’d hope for caleb’s showing off some distance here too let’s see what he does here inside enough power to push through oh well within C1 there for Caleb that’s looking good from Fletcher if it checks up got a swing back coming and it does yeah yeah maybe a little straddle should be manageable for him ceiling of those trees shouldn’t be a problem but Ethan with the low turnover yeah couple leaves kind of kill the flight for him a deep deep look for two good control on the shot it’s not quite the pace you’re looking for oh that was looking good just a hair right perfect speed and height though looking good again just coming up short every time called it little straddle here just to take that tree out of the out of view a little high from Fletcher unfortunately yeah Jonathan certainly didn’t have the front line he was looking for but he still wants it he’s still going for each of these shots good putt from Caleb grabbing the birdie quite the excitement there from Caleb cleans up that par and as these guys tap out wanted to shout out a couple of our club members who were doing a lot of work at all three courses for this tournament throughout the week but in particular West Kyle Linhardt doing a lot of trimming out there liam Dempsey Trenton Fron handful of other guys so thank you to you for working to make these courses look nice for the event appreciate everything making these courses look beautiful bringing some great attention to Lincoln disc golf [Music] moving into hole 11 uphill 295 ft tight OB with the sidewalk on the right fence line on the left lining interstate 180 you can swing it out wide then you got the challenge of coming back in bounds or the straight shot more direct right at the basket it’s another option plays as the second easiest hole should be a pretty straightforward shot but uh pretty easy to go beyond this hole too that’s looking good from Caleb fades back in yep there it comes he pushes a little long but yeah maybe a hair outside the circle no risk at that downhill putt though yeah looking a little bit more direct at it stay in bounds the whole time right up there that’ll do suspect John will probably take a pretty similar flight to Logan oh goes more the kind of right between him more overstable than Caleb hung it out wide initially finishes harder up against the fence still in position for a birdie putt good shot from Fletcher just landed on that little patch of dirt there where there was no grass getting a little skip long as Nathan kind of burns this one over a bit but having an obstructed look yeah being short really pulls those trees into play cuz you still have a little bit of an uphill putt there too those those putts look on just not quite the pace he’s looking for caleb looked like he was really just trying to float that in a little bit yeah could see that flag kind of a little bit of headwind coming at him and there Fletcher connects on one he doesn’t look too happy about that but he should be he should be that’s a great two get back on the board with another birdie he’s even on the round yep and Logan grabs another birdie bringing himself to six down on the day so far little bit of cleanup duty here for Caleb and Nathan couple birdies couple pars that’ll wrap up hole 11 shout out to Alex Beers pulling the cart for Nathan this round on to hole 12 big downhill shot 470 foot par three some trees in the way you got the option for the towering hiser straight look right at it but OB comes into play along that sidewalk around the right side and then long yeah I think you’ll see these guys taking the right side maybe throwing somewhat of a neutral disc on his letting it kind of drift you see from Logan there Tennessee guys saw that off though and not commit to the right side logan committed very well puts it right there pretty routine tap in there for his his birdie lining up the flex play looks like it’s going to fade out a little early for him i mean the distance control was good there just not quite not quite the line you’re looking for but he’s still going to have a look he takes those trees out of play there too where with that hiser we see so many guys throw it low caleb I think that’s going to be saw off quite a bit caleb might be going long oh no that sidewalk’s maybe another 1520 beyond where he landed there getting a little close still probably you know edge of circle one short C2 not a bad spot get under that he does a little too wide but he’s down there in that C2 territory get it oh so close yeah seen a lot of uh lot of C2 looks from Nathan Bachmann today a bit of a trouble connecting on him jonathan can follow up that birdie with another one strong hiser on that putt just not quite getting the swing he wants on it just short from Caleb had that really strong putt on eight and then since then it seems like he’s been a little tentative with it our bull gets that one to stick a little left side basket grabs it logan stringing together a pretty good pretty good round at this point looks pretty calm and collected with that putt nice casual round for him looking out there casual seven down through 12 yeah oh is his demeanor you know he looks like he’s just just hanging out moving on 12 really showing that uh premium is on accuracy there 470 foot seems long but big downhill shot you just want to put it right by the basket move on to hole 13 669 foot foot par4 playing against the second hardest a lot of tight be along the right side sidewalk left you get up here to this pinch point right here kind of forces you to carry to uh kind of a peninsula green we’ll call it getting yourself to a good spot off the tea is important and then trying to put your your up shot pretty close to the basket’s going to be really really important here right side’s open see who wants to take that gap or just lay up on the left yeah the left play definitely the the safer option we did uh open up that right side which is a little bit more of a direct line this year allowing players to get a bit more aggressive off the tee making that second shot a little bit easier on them but OB line does run tight along that wooded line there see most guys opting for the safe play and that’s a perfectly fine position where they’re where they’re landing still attacking for birdie from there makes it a little longer shot but they’re uh not risking the OB shot okay they’re pushing that a bit straight and it gets back in nice you know with the control that Nathan’s shown I would have thought that right side gap would have been tempting to push up a little bit further yeah and through that right gap I think you know you can get about another 60 70 up from where these guys are right now it’s looking a little short it’s going to be a C2 look for birdie they don’t really have all the room to swing that though with those trees over the OB on the left side so this looks like a good shot from Nathan a little short stay safe really almost want less of a swinging shot and more of a a a straight driven shot that just has some finish to it here that looks more like what John’s doing oh doesn’t check up there oh Fletcher will have about a 18footer to save par yeah that just drove it straight let it finish but not really swinging it out over the OB too much ‘s plan is the second hardest on the day hey great connection by Logan from C2 that’s going to make it three in a row for Harpool four guys on the chase card all up on the green one’s putting for par but not a bad grouping yes Nathan let’s go good connection for birdie from Nathan there got cheering section in the back too supporting him okay and Fletcher saving the par this card must have been what kept the hole from being the first hardest yeah those guys did a great job playing that hole i mean even Fletcher Lee can OB there but still saving his par another look at the harpool putt from C2 here giving him his third birdie in a row catches that one [Music] nathan Bachmann it’s a double double take that’ll move us to hole 14 301 ft par three pretty pretty easy hole for these guys should just be a pretty sockheiser the basket kind of sits in a little bit of a base in here or right at the top excuse me of the hill sits on a slope got a couple trees to contend with nathan will probably go left side these guys will be looking the other three will be looking to pretty much spike it in yeah whether throwing lefty or right got plenty of room to swing it out wide oh Logan brings that up wow or Caleb’s going to look to pretty much match that little flatter out of the hand finishing strong oh oh and the ace caleb Bruce hitting the ace on 14 drops it in wow congrats buddy i think that netted him about 500o in the ace pool this weekend and everybody wants a piece on 14 finishing downhill he’s going to have a Well there’s only been three shots and one of them went in so the toughest look for birdie so far i don’t think going right up to gut surprising to see the straight line from Fletcher oh look at that smile on Caleb’s face he loves it running it in what a putt from Caleb Bruce and the thumbs up to look for Jonathan oh lot of want on that putt he’s got that little downhill look wind’s pushing right to left and he doesn’t care keeps it rolling he He paints the pole right there that was That was a beautiful strong putt from Logan that’ll be four in a row for Harpool as Nathan looks to pick up a pair of backto-back birdies here on this putt there it is love to see this from Nathan all right Nathan Bachmann getting it going here on the back why doesn’t he look more excited jonathan got a little work to do left for his par an X so we got a one a couple twos and a three on that hole didn’t expect that kind of scoring separation there no not necessarily so we have another look at the ace from Caleb Bruce swinging it out wide [Music] strong finish right into the basket [Music] see everybody cheering down there on the tea moving on to hole 15 another par 3 369 ft this one’s going downhill got to control the distance off your shot here cuz uh if you push it long or push it wide there’s a good chance you’re running downhill off the side on the right here come up short or a little too straight there’s some guardian trees protecting the green area and Caleb Bruce looking to ace again going very wide oh out of the hand i thought that was way too wide that was He was trying to go for the ace again good shot quite the bounce there looking taking the more low route checks up nicely a little bit of an uphill pipe left for him nathan’s going to have to contend with those trees a little bit more through them comes up short though get that floaty putt connect again for him oh Jonathan not getting that flat enough wind’s pushing right to left on him gets hung up in those trees yeah Fletcher just laying that one up downhill with the wind that can be a tricky one to run for sure yeah the round’s not going the way Jonathan wants either so he’s really just trying to control it at this point and finish without more damage caleb with a little comebacker here uphill probably about circle’s edge and Caleb sinks it neglecting to ace this one making a little harder on himself by having to cash birdie putt gets it done what do you call it when it’s a birdie ace birdie on your last three not sure a rainbow turkey i think that’s what it’s called meanwhile Logan with five in a row should note too you know there’s there’s a bit of a storm starting to blow in here the winds picked up on this this back nine not sure if uh these guys are really feeling that or not but beautiful day is darkening a little bit [Music] caleb Bruce with the backto back double takes here swinging around the rim of the basket staying in caleb’s feeling good he’s smiling running around hole three hole 16 par three 448 ft the challenge here is the double mando really two different defined restricted spaces you got to get through the opening there and then put your disc up here by the green going to take some shot shaping to get up here yeah that OB on the sidewalk long that can really sneak up on you too something to be mindful of for these guys certainly a downhill shot you know they got to shape it guys might be really just positioning themselves for an easy par it’s a good looking forehand by Logan oh a little low i think get some decent ground play he was looking to get off to the right side there and pass those trees for an open look throw something soft and floaty on his next shot to get around nathan’s might be too straight howen it is enters that left side restricted space the angle here is definitely tricky jonathan with a roller play that should push him out to the right yeah just turned over a little too fast on him that should be a pretty safe par play there and splitting the gap yep right up there for Nathan need some good distance control here caleb handles it pretty well that OB long can come into play if you uh focus too much on getting around that tree and uh not controlling it jonathan does have a look here yeah soft run yeah like I said he’s just trying to control the damage here at this point even on the round two holes left and uh a full third round to go good putt by Caleb that looked strong past few have looked a little tentative even though he’s been connecting that one was a confident putt i guess a rainbow turkey will do that for you huh indeed and Nathan grabs his bogey and you mentioned the weather in the last hole i think it’s worth noting that uh our lead card which you can find their coverage on Ace Run Pro got caught up in a little weather to finish off their round the only card left on the course had to finish off their round after about an hour delay due to some lightning passing through the area and very windy when they came back bringing us to hole 17 225 ft a little short one but it’s uh requires a an accurate shot got a triple mando here put it through there if you don’t make it the drop zone’s right at the mando yep basket about 50 ft on the other side of the triple mando playing right in the middle in terms of difficulty certainly an opportunity to just lay it up and take a par if you want it but 225 ft these guys should be attacking it and Caleb does pick something a little faster it just says “Hey I’m going to get put it right there.” Mhm logan lower stable low driven again he knows what disc hole he can just point and shoot right where he wants to go got some uh shrubbery on the left and right here that we can’t wait to see grow up a bit more jonathan clean yeah it’s stuck in there nicely for him right behind the tree but low but through four discs through the mando though that’s uh not a sight you see all the time so if we can get some bird birdies out of this group looking right into that headwind one’s going to have to be strong yeah a little short front cage fletcher for his birdie good connection there by Jonathan logan just pure right into the heart of the basket there so that gives Logan Birdies on six of the eight holes in the back nine 11 down for the round right now putting together a very good round on day two as long as everything goes okay on 18 definitely securing himself a spot on that lead card for day three of the tournament here we are last hold around hole 18 par five 915 ft definitely an eagleable par five we got OB along the right side OB wide left if you uh don’t get your your T-shot turned over enough to follow the line you’ve got Obie up here kind of by a pinch point by this tree surrounding the basket long some trees in the way to contend with so uh definitely an opportunity for a big drive oh and here’s the rain logan just playing that smooth forehand out there with his Raider that rain started uh rather quickly there looks to be coming down pretty good on these guys came out of nowhere tap pad’s not even wet yet but look at those drops jonathan going for the bigger drive here high turnover shot catches one of those trees by the red pad that’s an okay spot to be caleb trying to match that i think he might have slipped a little bit it’s not going to hold the line but it’s still going to be pretty good distance he’s just on the left side there nathan just going big backhand left side great shot from there so that is safe there the OB line’s a little little cut in there but he’s got to contend with the rough logan throwing a really good shot up here just an easy pitch up for birdie from there jonathan pulling that wide right it’s got to swing in and it does yeah a similar spot to Logan might even have a C2 deep C2 look from there it’s in a spot where if you want to get aggressive with it you definitely have the space to do so it’s Caleb trying to work around this big evergreen here let’s see if he can sneak in front and he does wow caleb going to have an eagle putt man he’d have a C1 look if he didn’t quite catch that nice little pitch up it’s almost an awkward distance where just outside of that jump putt range can’t really throw it very much from there yeah these guys trying to dunk it with the forehand yep see if Caleb can connect on the seagull attempt i think he wanted that one i think he uh he gave it some good effort there couldn’t quite swing it in that would have been nice getting an ace and an eagle in the same round kind of a rare occurrence oh Nathan unfortunately can’t finish off on 18 you can see this rain coming down though oh yeah just as they’re trying to finish up the round this is a really challenging spot to be in because you got to you got to focus and finish strong but all you want to do is get off the course right now for sure nice to see Caleb connect for that birdie as Fletcher looks to do the same to close out his afternoon and little high off the band again for Fletcher hopefully he can get it going on the final day at Beiel Slooh and speaking of getting it going on the final day at Beiel Slooh that birdie there is going to give Logan 12 down on the day going to have a two-hot lead over Bennett Doland heading into the final round of the tournament tomorrow and that’s going to wrap up for us here at Robber West on day two of the DGA Star City Classic sponsored by Disc Gauntlet there’s that fire emoji next to Logan evan Walker not far behind him with an 11 down effort on his own though strong scores out there so please join us on the disc and deals channel for the final day chase card coverage at Beiel Slooh and on Ace Run Pro for the lead card coverage on the final day a quick reminder not to litter around the course and thanks for watching

Dang! That ace was sick.
I was super happy to take a 3 on hole 16 in this tournament. I played MA4 and threw a big backhand turnover with a sidewinder. I ended up just behind the right pine tree, 30 ish feet from the basket. It was from the same tee pad, but for MA4 it was a par 4. I think it was the best shot I've ever had. Would have loved to get it on film. I'm going to have to try to throw from there again and replicate it.
