your former squads. All right.
The Steelers also take on as I
made reference to the Jets in week number one, the Browns in
week six yesterday Myles Garrett
was talking all about looking forward to put him in the
graveyard. All those sacks that
he continues to rack up. There’s a ton of buzz around Rodgers.
But Isaiah I ask you all of a
sudden this Pittsburgh squad they win a whole lot of games.
But are they now all of a sudden
the villains in the NFL. No I don’t understand why people
would even believe that these
guys would be the villains. I mean, Aaron Rodgers might be the
villain he always has been for
his entire career, just because he always zigs when everybody
tries to get him to zag. But no,
the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be just fine. Mike
Tomlin is one of the most
respected guys in the league. Nobody has any issues with him
outside of the fact that he
hasn’t won many playoff games as of late. Aaron Rodgers is that
dude and he is now stepping into
the fold to lead these guys, hopefully to playoff success.
But in terms of villains, no,
these guys have never been those people. And unless they find a
way to not give T.J. Watt a
contract at that point, it might be a villain. Yeah. Isaiah.
Absolutely not. The Pittsburgh
Steelers are not villains. I mean, when you look at Aaron
Rodgers, I know people get tired
of the mantra and this aura with Aaron Rodgers. And to your
point, he does things on his own
timeline. But looking at him at the press conference, this was
the most tempered I’ve seen AA
round, right? He wasn’t snarky. He didn’t have any sly comments
going back and forth. And then
when you look at the Steelers team in totality, this might be
the most talent deficient
offensive on the offensive side that we’ve seen him. Yes, they
have DK Metcalf. But whose
receiver? Number two, how are you going to be villainous when
we don’t even know who receiver
number two is? And then we go to the defensive side. This is the
highest paid defense in all the
NFL, but yet they’re still middle of the pack. When you
talk about production wise, you
see it right there by almost $30 million. This defense is highly
paid. And you talked about it
T.J. Watt wants a new deal. So the number could go even higher.
So when you look at this team in
totality, they’ve struggled at defense at times making plays
right now they’re not really
explosive on offense at running back is going to be running back
by committee Kenneth Gainwell is
there. You got Jalen Warren. You also took Hodges in the draft as
well. So when you look at this
team they’re absolutely not villainous right. The only thing
is people just get tired and
enamored with Aaron Rodgers. But in no way is this team
villainous. Listen, I’m with
you. I would love to say, oh hell yeah, they’re a villain.
They got the black hat on,
literally, and they’re going to torch the league and everyone’s
going to hate them. It’s fun for
the league, but if you if you can’t stand Aaron Rodgers or you
made up your mind years ago, you
hate Aaron Rodgers. God bless you. And he’s your villain.
Fine. The Steelers to be a
villain guys you have to be all powerful. Don’t show up at nine
and eight and tell me you’re
Hannibal Lecter. Like there’s nothing villainous about nine
and eight and losing in the wild
card last year. If you want to say the Chiefs are the villain,
they’re winning every single
week. If you want to say the Patriots used to be the villain,
they would just blow torch the
whole league. The Steelers are a middling team that are not Darth
Vader. When they show up and go
nine and eight, I’ll give you a contrarian. Take the team that’s
got villain potential this year
plays in the same state in the eastern part of it. The Eagles.
Eagles have it. I mean, the
Eagles have the potential to be the villains. Listen, they are
going to run the bejesus out of
the tush push this year. They’re going to do it out of spite.
They’re going to do it against
the teams that voted against it. Nick Sirianni ego is going to be
out of control. He probably was
already. If you didn’t like his act on the sideline before, what
do you think? Now that he has a
ring and a parade? Here’s your first and ten. Here’s your
second and eight. It’s guys, the
Eagles, especially in the context of the NFC East where I
think the commanders are very
likable. The Giants once they put Jaxson Dart in will be
likable. Even the Cowboys. The
vibe that’s coming off of Schottenheimer feels fresh and
light. I love what the Eagles
stand for, and I love that it’s hate us because they ain’t us.
But if you’re looking for a team
to roll your eyes about and hate this year and go, oh God, these
guys again, the best potential
is the Eagles. It’s not the Steelers, Kyle. I actually think
it’s a really good point because
you also look at the makeup of here, it’s time to play a little
bit of a game. DuSable or
delusional word play. I’ll present three possibilities. I
know you like that. I like that
present three possibilities when it comes. Yeah. And when it
comes to coming up with, like,
slippery, fun little segment names like DuSable or
delusional, this show is 60
minutes. It’s the greatest show of all time. Nobody does it
better than us. Could not agree
with you more. We have this working document I’m always in
awe of the titles that our team
is coming up with. I’m like, damn, that’s actually pretty
creative. And no, I couldn’t
come up with it. So here’s how the game is going to go. I’ll
present three possibilities. You
decide. All three of you guys will decide if it’s doable or
delusional. There’s like one
person at home go, oh, doable. Now I get it. You’re up early, I
get it. All right. First up,
wide receiver Davante Adams busy at work with his new team in Los
Angeles minicamp this week.
Talked about the different vibes with the Rams compared to some
of the other previous
organizations he’s played for. It took a little bit more time
for me to get integrated into,
you know, the Jets team than it was, you know, getting here. And
I knew a lot more of the guys on
the team. Even so, it kind of just depends. And a lot of that
probably had to do with me going
halfway through the season wasn’t wasn’t where this time we
have as much time together, you
know, to kind of be be away from ball as well. But yeah, it’s
always going to be different.
But I just I feel like this is what I needed, just based off
the vibe and the aura of the of
the, of the building. And everybody’s in a, you know, a
good mood. It’s not like a, you
know, dark cloud over the building. And I’ve experienced
that quite a bit over the last
few years. So it’s a glaring difference when you come into a
building like this. Yeah. It was
like, oh yeah, yeah. Tell us how you really feel Devonte bringing
a little bit of heat. Yeah. All
right Isaiah I will start with you here. Davante Adams A bigger
impact than Puka Nacua Douzable
or delusional I’m gonna say Douzable. Oh and this is why.
Because most people at home are
going to pull up the stats right. They’re going to pull up
the stat line. They’re going to
say, well, look how many yards Puka Nacua gets in receiving.
Okay, I hear you and I respect
that. But that’s why stats accentuate your facts, right?
And this is the fact. The fact
is Davante Adams is still one of the most respected receivers in
this league. And he scores
touchdowns right. When you score touchdowns you have the greatest
impact on opposing defense. So
they have to play a safety over the top. They have to make sure
that they have 1 or 2 guys
watching you. They back the defense off. So it not only does
it improve Puka Nacua who is a
possession receiver right. Puka Nacua obviously only played 11
games last year, three
touchdowns a year before that. His rookie year scored six
touchdowns. He’s a possession
receiver. He catches the ball. He does good things. He makes
first downs. But what else is
Davante Adams going to do. He’s going to back these guys off.
He’s going to have a lower a
lower number in the box. He’s going to improve the running
game. That was ranked 24th in
the league last year, so maybe he won’t have as many yards as
Puka Nacua. But he’s definitely
going to have the greatest impact between the two. You know
what you got to do after an
analysis like that? Isaiah, you got to pull up the stats. I’ll
just pull up stats right now.
It’s that simple. All right. Young Puka Nacua, in his very
young career has played 28 games
and he has 184 catches. He goes for almost seven catches a game.
And I think you just totally
slurred him Isaiah you said possession receiver like five
times like that’s that is a lot
of times to say possession receiver. This possession
receiver went for 14 yards a
catch last year I mean this he is really really good. And it’s
no disrespect to DeVante.
DeVante is a legend I think Puka is still going up. I do not
think he’s at his ceiling. I
think they’ve found something truly, truly special in that
draft. I don’t think he’s played
his best football. I think he’s still sticking with Stafford.
He’s going to be even better now
with DeVante. I think it’s Puka. He’s one of my favorite players
in the league and I just think
he’s about to have another monster year and I hope he stays
healthy. So I guess I’m the
tiebreaker when it comes down to this. And to me, it’s delusional
to think that Davante Adams is
going to have a bigger impact than Puka Nacua. And to Kyle’s
point, this is no disrespect to
Davante Adams. To me, he’s one of the greatest and one mix tape
release receivers in football.
And if you don’t get that reference go ahead and go on
YouTube. Put in and one put in
the professor put in hot sauce because there’s not a better
separator the last decade in the
NFL than Davante Adams. But Father Time is undefeated. He’s
going to turn 33 this year. Now
speed was never his game, but he hasn’t been as fast to Kyle’s
point. We look at Puka Nacua two
years already with Matt Stafford. This is his third
year. The camaraderie is already
built up. In just 11 games last year he had almost a thousand
yards. And to double down on
that, he had 108 targets in 11 games, which would have put him
top 30 in the league as far as
targets in the NFL with missing six games. So that lets you know
how much faith Matt Stafford has
in this guy. He’s going to be his go to guy already was. Even
with Cooper Kupp being there, he
had become the number one receiver in the college point.
He’s not just a possession
receiver. Look at some of these catches on the sideline. Shout
out to my guy Nate Burleson. Toe
drag swag right there. But he’s one of the best yards after
catch receivers in football. He
essentially turns into a running back. He’s hard to bring down.
He will have a bigger impact
than Davante Adams. Yeah yeah two things to unpack here.
Number one to his point the and
one mixtape doc. Got to go and quarterbacks, I don’t know if
we’re going to call Russ at this
point in his career. Game manager, he and Jameis Wilson in
that quarterback room. Also,
though the team moved to go and get Jaxson Dart. All signs
though pointing at Russ being
the QB one, is it doable or delusional that Russ will remain
the starting quarterback for the
entire season? Isaiah. It’s doable as long as he stays
healthy. I’m not sure if that
line is going to be able to stand up there and make sure
that he’s protected. Russell
Wilson is still a productive quarterback in this league.
Let’s not get that mixed up. And
obviously Father Time is undefeated like you said. But if
they can establish a running
game and if they can protect him, Russell Wilson is going to
get first downs for these guys.
That’s just what he does. He’s going to give Malik Nabers
opportunity to make big plays
because he has the moon ball that drops in there. He’s a very
accurate quarterback in that
regard. Russell Wilson starts messing up and starts being a
turnover magnet whenever he
doesn’t have to, when he has to start creating, right? If he has
to create, then that that
element of his game is, has gone away, right? That’s where Father
Time has taken over. But if you
give him time and you give him a running game, this dude is going
to go out there and put some
points on the board. Isaiah I heard a lot of ifs there. And
that’s the question mark. When
you come to the New York Giants, I think it’s delusional. First
and foremost, let’s go into
their schedule. The NFL schedule makers did them no favors. They
have the hardest strength of
schedule in the NFL. And this is a rebuilding team. They’re
trying to refortify that
offensive line. They have some of the similar past weapons on
the outside. And to your point,
yams. They took a young quarterback in the first round.
Let’s not forget what their
owner, John Mara said at the end of the season. He’s like, I
better be in a better mood than
I am right now. This time at the end of the season, next year. In
regards to the GM and head coach
potentially being under fire for their jobs this year. So if
you’re looking at it, you’re
Brian Daboll, right? You’re Joe Shane. You’re going to lean on
the young quarterback if things
start going left early because say Jaxson Dart goes out there
and looks respectable, you could
potentially hold on to your job. So I just think it’s delusional
that Russell Wilson is going to
keep this job for the entire season one, because the head
coach and GM are on the hot
seat. But two, the strength of schedule is a gantlet for the
Giants. I’m just going to use
this topic to tell a story. Guys, you got to hear this. So
about two weeks ago, I think it
was almost exactly two weeks ago, my wife and I went to a
concert. I’m here in New York. I
went to Citi Field, where the Mets play. We went to go see
Post Malone, Post Malone with
Jelly Roll opening. Okay. It’s a really, really eclectic crowd
because Post Malone does does
hip hop and he does country and he does rock. And there’s all
these all different kinds of
people. It was really, really cool. First we walk into Citi
Field. We scan our tickets. We
walk in within five seconds. I’m not exaggerating. The first
human being I see when I walk in
is Brian Daboll. I’m not kidding. Coach Daboll was there.
He was there with his his his
family and his wife. And they just having the greatest time.
It was a I think it was a
Thursday night, maybe a Friday night. I started chatting him up
because we know each other a
little bit and he knows the show and he loves angry runs and blah
blah. So we definitely talked a
lot of cam, but we talked a lot of things that aren’t going to
be on the air and kept it
private and everything, but I walked away from it, seeing that
he is very, very excited about
about Russell Wilson, he really excited like that. He thinks he
has this pro this this Hall of
Fame level guy that he has like an executive in the building who
is so trustable and dependable
and is just seen everything. I don’t know if he’s going to
start the whole year, but I know
that Brian Daboll is squarely behind Russell Wilson and loves
him, and I just came away with
the impression he’s so excited for this year and I’ll tell the
story. I wish I had a picture,
but I don’t take pictures with public figures ever, especially
if they’re out at Post Malone.
Plus, I was on like a different planet so the picture wouldn’t
come out right. But Coach Daboll
was amazing to see and I know he’s very fired up. Hey, how was
the concert? Oh, it’s so good.
It’s like the Post Malone if you Let’s. Oh, this is just kind of
cool I love that. Oh, there goes
ahead. That’s so much fun with those when I was a kid. All
right. You got cam Ward, and
then you have Travis Hunter. And it was a couple of weeks ago.
Kyle, I think I heard you and I
think you described it really well, and that is, this is the
least talked about. Number one
overall pick that happens to be a quarterback that maybe we have
ever seen. So Isaiah I will let
you start here. Which rookie is going to have a bigger impact
this season. Is it cam Ward or
is it the two way player Travis Hunter I really like Travis. I
like him a lot. But I’m going to
have to go with cam Ward. The reason why I got to go with cam
Ward is because the Tennessee
Titans have needed, and I say need a quarterback, right. For
some time now, they haven’t had
somebody that’s been situated at that position for a period of
time for a very long time. And I
think that he’s going to have a great impact on that team, not
only because he’s the he’s the
man that’s on the field that’s commanding the whole offense,
but every time that the ball is
snapped, he touches the ball. Every time that the play comes
through his hair, he gets to put
the team in the best position. He gets to go out there and
alleviate some of the stressors
for guys like Tony Pollard and Ridley and guys of that nature.
So he gets to distribute the
ball, he gets to make plays, and he gets to make sure that the
team is always in the right
play. He’s going to have the greatest impact. But I really
like Travis Hunter. Yeah, Travis
will play on both sides of the football right. Offense and
defense. And you would think
he’s going to have the bigger impact. But to Isaiah’s point
it’s cam Ward. He touches the
ball every single play. I go back to what his head coach,
Brian Callahan, said. It’s not
just about him and what he’s going to do with the football,
distributing the football
around. It’s the culture change. He’s bringing in the swag, he’s
bringing in the attitude and
then being able to be a multitasker. He’s talking trash
to Jeffrey Simmons while the
play call is coming in his ear and his coach is like, do you
want me to wait until you finish
talking trash? No, coach, I got this. Let me finish talking
trash and give me the play call.
And we’re going to go to the huddle and we’re going to bust
him down again. So I love that
cam Ward not only is coming in with that bravado, that aura,
also the playmaking ability. You
see how this man had the strongest arm in the draft. He
can put the ball anywhere on the
field, but he’s bringing a different type of attitude that
will change the culture in
Tennessee. He will have a bigger impact than Travis Hunter. All
right, I, I’m going to take a
deep breath here. And I’m going to start on behalf of this
program with an apology, an
apology for this topic, for this question to not only the entire
Tennessee Titans organization,
but the entire state of Tennessee, the Volunteer State.
This is where we have arrived
at. We are asking whether the number one overall pick in the
draft, who is going to start at
quarterback, will have a bigger impact than this guy playing
corner or wide receiver. I don’t
care if Travis Hunter also coaches and punts and kicks
field goal and mops up the
locker room and drives the team bus and flies the team plane,
it’s cam Ward and I have this
apologetic tone because we should know better. We’re not
the other shows. We’re supposed
to be the people’s show of football on the ground floor.
We’re not afraid to do a segment
with those logos here. The Titans logo and the Jags logo.
We’re not ripped off the air
because we’re not showing a Cowboys star or Aaron Rodgers
face. This is a real
conversation about who’s going to be more impact. Travis
Hunter, what are we doing?
Travis Hunter, Hunter S Thompson, Hunter Biden I don’t
care what any Hunter, Snow White
and the Huntsman. You could put them out there and it’s always,
always going to be cam Ward. And
let’s not also say, well, it’s only because he’s a quarterback.
No, it’s because he’s an
undisputed number one overall pick quarterback who looks real
nice and is playing well early
on. Look at this picture right here and tell me this doesn’t
have a little bit of sizzle.
Don’t tell me it’s all boring. And it’s only because he’s
quarterback. That’s pretty icy
swag. That’s one. That’s Ridley. That’s the rookie I like that
zero I like that one I’m into it
guys I like how this looks. And it’s okay if you like how that
looks. I cannot believe we’ve
gotten here as a show. I’m going to apologize to everybody. We’re
already getting alarms going off
because we’re talking about cam Ward. Get them off. Get them
off. Talk. Rogers talk. Rogers
talk. Anything. This is cam Ward talk. Cheddar. Fine. Talk about
the fourth string quarterback on
the damn Cleveland Browns before the number one overall pick. Get
him off I apologize I’d like to
say it won’t happen again, but it probably will. It probably
will, by the way. And I think
you make a really good point because it’s Father’s Day this
weekend. Happy Father’s Day to
all you dads out there in the dads we have here. But what
we’re going to do now is we’re
going to bring in the son or daughter of an NFL figure. We
don’t know who this is. We don’t
know who the figure is. We don’t know who the guest is. And we
are going to ask this son or
daughter questions and try to figure out who their NFL father
is. Let’s get after it. We’re
totally unprepared. This is from the hip. Bring in the son or
daughter. Let’s see who we have.
Bring it up. And NFL mystery. Dad. All right. We have a young
lady. Good morning. How are you?
All right. Good morning. I’m great. How are you guys? Good,
good. Excited. Nervous. Nervous.
Confused. Can you first just set the table and tell us and tell
everybody your first name only?
Yes, my name is Allison. That’s all I told me to say. Okay,
guys, this is Allison. Say
hello. Say hello. Allison. I have a guess. No, no. Okay. All
right, Allison, we are going to
start asking you questions there. Yes or no questions?
Mostly, but we’re going to try,
based on your answers, to guess who your father is, I will
start. Is your dad currently
working within the NFL or retired? Currently working. Oh,
active. All right, go ahead, you
guys. Okay, okay. Is your dad Allison a player? No. Okay.
Okay. I hope it’s not a trainer.
This is going to take a long time. Okay. You guys. Guys. What
college did your dad attend?
Miami of Ohio. Oh, okay, a mac man. Okay, okay. All right.
Okay. What color is the. What’s
the primary color for the organization that your dad is
with? Oh, it’s going to give it
away. Purple. Purple. All right, guys, so we still don’t know
what her dad’s position is in
terms of the title, but purple means it. Possibly a Viking that
jumps up there. Ravens have some
purple. Okay. Is your is your dad a is your dad a head coach?
Yes. Oh, okay. All right.
Anybody want to have a guess? I would yeah John Harbaugh. Yeah.
Yes. Yeah. No. Yes. Yes! God.
Oh, man. Coach. Look at coach. Hey, dad! We did it. Hi,
Allison. Yammer. I love this, by
the way. I think we have it. Nice job. We. Actually, we got
this faster than I thought we
were. We were going to get John once again. Appreciate you
coming on with us and being a
part of a fun little game for us. And Allison. Well done. On
on the clues. And clearly we
needed some of that help to figure figure this out. All
right. By the way, John Allison
is your daughter. Best gift that she’s given you on Father’s Day.
Oh, this is the theme. Well, she
we usually work out like when she was playing lacrosse up
until this past. This will be
the first Father’s Day that she didn’t play lacrosse since she
was eight years old. Usually be
out in the front yard. She’d be taking me to school. So the best
gift she gave me was was beat me
like a drum, trying to play defense against her. I think
probably the best gift which
made me happy, made me very happy. That’s awesome man.
Coach, it’s good to see you on
here, man. But this is for your daughter, Allison and Coach. You
can chime in on this if you want
to. Did coach ever coach you up during your time growing up as
an athlete, and if so, what were
some of those main pointers that he gave you? Oh my gosh, so many
great things. Well, I played
lacrosse in college, but I couldn’t take his coaching point
seriously until he actually
called it a stick. It was a lacrosse racket for a very long
time, but. I couldn’t get it
right. So Allison, this question I’m looking at here in these
pictures. Yeah, yeah. What’s
coach’s stick skills like? Is he is he nice with it. You know
what it’s not bad. It’s improved
over the years. It used to be a baseball mitt. He would throw it
with me and I would have the
stick. But he’s one on one defender, man. He’s bigger than
all the girls I faced. So he
figured I can beat him like, you know of. No problem. So he’s
always in the yard with me,
giving me different athletic coaching points and mental game
skills. All of the above. He’s
just been such a great coach and dad throughout the years. That’s
dope. So coach, this question is
for Allison. Again. The Harbaugh family is obviously royalty in
the NFL. But Allison I want to
know from you family get togethers when they’re sporting
events how intense does it get.
It’s probably what you would think pretty intense. No matter.
It starts out friendly. And then
I feel like somehow, no matter what we’re doing, we always end
up measuring our height and our
wingspan and seeing like. Head circumference. Really weird
stuff. I remember I got to hear
your thoughts on that. Is that true? Well, yeah. I mean, I
don’t know if I really want to
admit that or not, but like, you can’t always play a game. I
mean, sometimes you just, you
know, you’re somewhere where you’re you’re at an event or
you’re at home or it’s just
dinner time and, you know, all you have is a tape measure, you
know, so there’s got to be some
sort of a, a competition of some sort. Well, to that point, John,
take me back. Take me back to
when you were growing up and Father’s Day, you and Jim and
your dad. Like, what was
Father’s Day like back then in the Harbaugh family? Yeah, it’s
a great question. You know, it’s
like Father’s Day never got quite the same level of
acknowledgment maybe as Mother’s
Day. Mom. Mother’s day was big. Father’s day was, you know,
we’re going to. We got to go do
something. I one thing I do remember really well, because my
mom was really awesome about
Father’s Day, was going to be a big breakfast. You know, we’re
normally a cereal, you know, and
we like we didn’t have the great cereal. You know, we had the
Wheaties, we had the Cheerios.
We didn’t go to our friend’s house, you know, it’s the Froot
Loops. It’s the it’s the Captain
Crunch. But it would be like bacon, you know, you’d get
pancakes, you get some eggs.
Father’s day was a it was a nice Sunday morning breakfast I
remember that. Yeah. No. That’s
awesome. I can only imagine that being the case, Allison. You
know, because we’re talking
about family. And obviously you’re on because Father’s
Father’s Day weekend. But in the
same time, and I think about my family and, you know, my aunts
and uncles around Mother’s Day
and Father’s Day and how significant that is for, for all
of us. What’s it like for you to
watch your dad go up against your uncle on the sidelines?
Like, you know, we see those
family jerseys where they’re split when there’s family, you
know, on both sides. Like, do
you have one of those jerseys or is just allegiance to dad no
matter what? Oh my gosh, I
should get one of those jerseys. That’s a great idea. It’s
definitely I’m very grateful. I
mean, it’s amazing to watch both of them just compete at the
highest level. It’s such a hard
thing to get this high in the NFL, let alone two, you know,
brothers. But it’s definitely
like has its ups and downs. I mean, you know the Super Bowl at
you know it was amazing. But at
the same time it was hard because the family was split and
we couldn’t support each other,
you know, like we would have wanted to. But gosh, I’m just so
proud of everybody. It’s, you
know, NFL ups and downs, but just so grateful for what
they’ve been doing and what I
get to see them do. This next question is for coach. Coach,
you guys have a great family
motto. Who’s got it better than us. At what age did you teach
Allison this motto? And then I
actually want her to follow up. Do you plan on passing that
motto down to your kids? That’s
a great question. I tell you what, man, who has it better
than us? I would say just as
long as she’s been around, she probably just heard. I don’t
think there was a moment, you
know, she probably learned it kind of like from birth, you
know, pretty much. That’s one of
the first phrases she I don’t know when you first uttered it
exactly, but she always knew the
answer. The answer is always clear. You know who’s got it
better than us? I know the
answer to that one. Allison always knew the answer to that
one. What’s the answer? No. No,
buddy. That’s awesome. You got to say it the right way, too.
With grandpa Jack. It can’t be
nobody. It can’t be nobody. It’s got to be enthusiastically drawn
out. No. I love it. Yeah, I love
it. All right, Allison, listen, families are are a lot of times
they don’t get the attention
when it comes to being, you know, daughters or family
members of head coaches in the
league. You all are the true superheroes, right? Like,
seriously, all the respect in
the world because it’s hard being a family member of a head
coach. But we want to know from
you, your dad’s going into his 18th year in the league. What
was it like growing up as a
daughter of a head coach in the NFL? Yeah, we got here in 2008.
I was in first grade, so I think
I learned really fast. This was a really big deal. It was like,
wow, it’s really all on him as
the head coach. Sometimes. I remember like going into school
Monday morning after a loss on
Sunday. Like I was like, mom, please don’t make me go to
school. Like, who’s going to be
the first kid to say something, you know? And it was tough. But
my mom gave me some great
advice, like, just keep your head held high. You’re proud of
your dad and what he’s done.
And, you know, there’s tough moments like that. But gosh,
it’s just all glory to God with
where he’s brought us and all the amazing moments we’ve had
because of it, too. It’s brought
our family really close together, our extended family
and just my parents and I.
Absolutely. That’s awesome. John, what’s it like to listen
to that? Makes me proud, makes
me happy. You know, it’s I think everybody everybody’s path is
different. You know, man makes
his plans, but God orders our steps. And these are the steps
that God has ordered for us. And
you try to kind of understand the reason. And life is best
understood in reverse, right?
You kind of look back and starts to make sense to you. And I see
Allison and the young woman that
she’s become and the and the things that she’s gone through
and, and, and her adversities
have been different than other people’s adversities. And her
her great moments have been
different, but they’ve been hers and unique to her, and she’s
handled them in the greatest way
she could, in her way, you know? And it’s been nothing but
success and a blessing to
people. Yeah. You know, that’s a dad talking, right? I mean,
that’s she makes me proud every
single day. And she’s going to law school next year at Loyola
in Chicago. That will be our
next step. So it’s pretty awesome. Pretty awesome as a
dad. Thanks, dad. I’m tearing up
over here. No, this is really, really nice. All right. We’re
going to just end with two short
ones to Allison. First of all, Allison, I need to follow up on
what your dad was saying earlier
about his childhood. Do you guys did you guys growing up in your
house, did you have the good
cereals? We did. Yeah, yeah. My favorite. What was your favorite
lucky charms? I like you,
they’re magically delicious. Strong choice. Good choice.
Allison, we know Father’s Day is
Sunday, and Father’s Day can be a little bit more low key than
Mother’s Day, but you have this
really unique opportunity that your dad is sitting here with
us, all of us, on live
television. And good morning football. What do you want to
say to your dad, John, about
what he means to you? Oh. Oh my gosh, I don’t know if I can
follow up what he said, but mom
and I are so proud of him. I’m an only child, so the three of
us are just so close, and he’s
just been the greatest dad through my whether it’s athletic
career, you know, helping me
through all the highs and lows of that and coaching me and just
always being there for me. Never
miss a game this season. And not only that, but just in my life.
He always has so much wisdom.
The best advice? He just lives out his faith every single day
and I look up to him. So much
for that. And we’re best friends and you know, there’s no one I’d
rather be with than you and mom.
So happy Father’s Day. Love you. Love that man. Love it. Thank
you. We love the Harbaugh guys.
And for this Father’s Day, let’s do it all together with the
right gusto on Father’s Day.
Who’s got it better than us? No, no. Yeah, John. Thank you,
Allison, so much. And happy
Father’s Day. Appreciate you guys. Do a great show. Thanks.
Happy Father’s Day coach.
Amazing. Thank you coach.
