The Adam Wharton hype train is back. After making the England squad before the Euros & highly impressing everyone under Oliver Glasner last season, the 21 year old English midfielder was hit with injury woes. He needed groin surgery. But now, he’s back again.

So in today’s video, I’ll be touching on what’s been going on with the former Blackburn midfielder, how he’s performed back from injury, how good he really is & why Thomas Tuchel must start him for England.

Thank you for watching this video! If you enjoyed then feel free to check out more across my channel. I hugely appreciate every one of you who supports this channel.

the Adam won hype train is back after making the England squad before the Euros last year and highly impressing everyone under Oliver glas last season the 21-year-old English midfielder was hit with injury woves he needed groin surgery but now he’s back again so for today’s video I’ll be touching on what’s been going on with the former Blackburn midfielder how he’s performed back from injury how good he really is and why Thomas Tuco must start him for England let’s go so as you may have saw earlier today Thomas tuul announced his first England squad we saw the names of Kyle Walker Jerel K Quanza Jordan Henderson Dan burn in the England squad but no Adam Walton or Gibbs white or Hudson adoi or Jared brano some debatable picks I can kind of understand why Walton wasn’t picked he’s only had three starts coming back from a big injury but picking the likes of Henderson over him I do not get one bit so we can have the benefit of the doubt once but next England squad you must be picking him so as we all know Crystal Palace signed Lancashire Bourn midfielder Adam for a fee surrounding the 20 million Mark the January transfer signing then very quickly made his Mark in the Premier League with every Big Six fan base seemingly asking their club for a signature this season has been difficult though for a fair few weeks he was carrying an injury and you can tell it was affecting his performance performances so from the end of October to the beginning of February he was out of the squad completing his surgery but at Old Trafford in a tuna win he returned with a 2-minute late Cameo Off the Bench and since then he’s been eased back in nicely with just three starts and four substitute appearances but two of those fre starts have been in palace’s last two games though and he’s been fantastic especially against Vela in his two latest starts clips of his beautiful LIF did forward passes into Runners have done the rounds on social media I think with how good he’s been straight back from injury just shows how talented he really is and what shows even more how talented the man is is he’s still got a few levels to go up yet his ability is effortless natural special he’s everything you want in a number six so let’s talk a bit about him and his Priceless qualities so wton features in palace’s 3421 system on the ball Palace utilized fast transition counter attacks really maximizing the most out of their number nine off the ball it’s a very manto man aggressive system when pressing high and wson sits in Midfield alongside Will Hughes or Jefferson Lura on the ball is where he’s most impressive but a lot of players are good on the ball we find quite a lot of them are not so good off the ball which isn’t the case for Adam won with the ball at his feet he is superb however before he receives the pass that’s where a lot of the work is done when a teammates has the the ball that’s when he’s very proactive even if he doesn’t get the ball he’s scanning the space all around and in front of him in particular because this is exactly what sets up his quick decisions making of pass forward he’s very spatially aware and to add to this he also Lively moves into space to receive the pass and create space so he’s not just standing still waiting the ball to eventually arrive his way once he receives the pass is where the Midfield magic happens he’s very comfortable when receiving the pass and then executing it with either foot he opens his body up and feet very well and easily his first touch is usually very clean and tidy too and he’s comfortable and very Swift on the half turn due to his great use of agility so this will allow him to pass forwards very quickly and almost instantly he hardly hesitates he just needs one or two touches and he’s off he loves passing the ball forward into the forward line and always seems to find them even when the space is congested it’s simple left foot to pass along the ground but as longer former passes are very good too as seen against ipswitch and V the passes are usually so calmly hit and almost effortless to it easy because it probably is he’s that good it’s always so well weighted accurate precise and times they’re usually struck with a bit of lift and right into the runner’s path the runner hardly has to make too much of a stride or effort in getting the first touch to the ball because the pass is just so good good but this isn’t to say that’s his only move too we’ve seen him time and time again access the likes of Tyre Mitchell and the white players who are driving into space going forward further up the pitch he also shares the same amount of threat when Crossing particularly near that right half space or slightly towards the right flank he bends a nice swing across on his left foot exceptionally and did exactly this for the first goal against Aston Villa so overall he’s just a very clean strike over the ball and loves those braver more riskier passes to access his front men I don’t think it’s very common for a midfielder to be as good as he is with how young he is in finding those passes beyond the crowded space into his attackers it’s brilliant but he won’t always choose to pass Adam Morton is press resistant his close ball control is great he’s got quick feat and Agility to escape any typ scenario but it’s his physicality that helps him out here too often his smaller player who are so great at this because it’s easier as they are closer to the ball to play a little bit faster and niftier more swifter and even more silkier but 5′ 11 Adam won opposes this he’s got really good control of the ball when pressed and overall it’s just a very cool ball carrier and he’s always looking forward in his actions but won has something that a lot have accomplished tight space dribblers don’t always have physicality he’s got the long legs to keep on to the B sure but to add a strong physical frame and height to the mix which is just unfair to opponents his holder play is really useful it can guard the ball nicely which means he can consume more numbers in keep the ball which means more space for his teammates what also impresses me about won is his level of maturity at just 21 years of age and just under 30 games of Premier League Football you need to have that intelligence and maturity as a number six and he’s got it he won’t not on the ball for too long he won’t make a stupid pass to a teammate Under Pressure he won’t go and take three to four players on he’s got a great foot blin brain on him and that’s very well composed and also equipped to take on anyone on the pitch the only times I personally see him give the ball away is when he tries those more riskier creative forward passes but if he loses the ball in a dangerous era he ensure that he gets it back which takes me on to the next segment the defensive to the midfielder as a number six he reads the game exceptionally as a man-to-man presser he can be intense he can win the ball back high but also Force the opponent backwards by using his sheer physicality and frame to really intervene and block their path forwards but when pressing he also has the recovery Pace to get back especially in an emergency scenario when his team may be exposed when deep more valuable when it’s circulating around he’s very patiently prancing around his opponent he’s not Reckless he doesn’t jump in too early he waits he then chooses when to pounce and then uses those long legs and physicality to get a foot in and be strong in his Jews talking of his long legs a little bit more he sweeps to play with them very well and because of his great Ring of play he means he intercepts those passes and cuts out any danger nice and early when a dribbler takes him on 1 V one his timing is fantastic and is rarely beaten by an opponent the only thing I would say is that he doesn’t quite make the most out of a slide tackle and that can be more dangerous when higher up and less players are behind you but overall he’s a complete package but that’s all I have to say about his qualities as a player let’s combine that with England England La an overall number six somebody all around rice is much better when he has a license to carry the ball forward crash the box and overall need somebody next to and provide that right balance in the middle Mayu is very similar too again a bit of a number eight rather than a six the same way Conor Gallagher Curtis Jones Elliot Anderson Angel Gomez I think you get the idea we’ve needed a number six like wton for so long now depending on the system that Thomas Tuco uses with England I think wton would suit both a 4231 a Walton and Dean rice pivot would be the stuff of dreams and overall Walton rice Bellingham has the perfect balance what more do you need if it’s a 3 421 then again a rice and water parent suits this system a lot I think I prefer the other as this gives rice the incentive to carry the ball forward with the ball as one of the main ball progressors with the likes of Walton Jude Bellingham sacka and whoever else may play but also rice can crush the box with Bellingham as wton sits back ready to recycle the ball and keep them unexposed in transition he’s got the positional discipline to be this the Midfield to me seems like the perfect formula the perfect balance no need to force anybody in if you’ve got all the quality right there and a whole lot more ready to come off the bench when need be thank you guys for watching today’s video if you did enjoy make sure to smash a like And subscribe to the channel what do you think of Adam wton should he be a starter for England paing next to rice or Bellingham or whoever you may think thank you for watching and I’ll see you guys in the next one

  1. How Tunchel can overlook Adam Wharton for the likes Walker and Henderson is quite unbelievable, Walker is a disaster at the moment and Henderson at 35yrs old is wrll past his best, I hope England's mid field is a disaster.

  2. Do you think a multiple cup winning world class manager gives a toss what a spotty sprog on YouTube thinks of his choices ?
    No .
    Nor does anybody else .

  3. Adam Wharton is the most complete midfielder England has produced for a long time he belongs in a top four team anywhere in the world! The world is his oyster and Real Madrid will come calling sooner rather than later he reminds me of a young Zinedine Zidane and some! I wish him all the success he desreves!!

  4. Good video. Our issue is how long we can keep him at Selhurst. MG looks like he'll be off this summer as no new contract yet. Dougie leaving this summer, and if you know Palace, DF has signed all of our gems in the last 5 years. Keeping AW is an absolute priority.

  5. Really thoughtful and insightful video. Wharton has a unique skillset in English midfielders but also a great temperament. I agree your midfield three seems perfectly balanced. It seems inevitable that he'll be a regular England starter before too long – he's exactly what we've been crying out for since… forever!

  6. As a Blackburn fan we knew how good Wharton was years ago. Generational talent. He should be in the England midfield along with rice and Bellingham
