Many golfers struggle with their chipping game, but it doesn’t have to be so difficult! Scottie Scheffler uses an old-school technique that has produced some of the best chipping results of anyone on the PGA Tour. You can use this same technique with just a little bit of practice and understanding the key that makes it work.

struggling with your chipping why don’t you learn to do it like Scotty Sheffer it’s an old school method of chipping but it’s very consistent and if you’ll just learn a couple fundamentals you’ll get a lot better A lot faster it’s amazing how good a player he is he’s obviously a great ball Striker a great driver great approach shots but he’s arguably the best chipper and pitcher on the planet right now too and he uses an old school technique that I love it’s my go-to for my game and um if you’ll learn what he does and learn to hit the same kind of shots he does you’ll be a better player might have made that one oh basically what he does is he uses a very lofted Club 60° 58° if whichever one you have or you can do it with a 56° club as well um but what it does is you play the ball back by your back foot and the Handle by your front leg and that creates an angle in the back of your right hand if you’re holding the club correctly in your fingers if you hold it in the Palm you won’t get much of an angle you have to hold it in the fingers and you can create this angle in the back of your hand um all he does is keep his weight forward the whole time his shoulders level and he holds on to that angle it’s that simple and it’s just a matter of how hard you swing with your arm to control the distance and so pretty simple shot Ball by my back foot my hands forward I have this angle to keep I can chip it up on the green let it roll down to the hole and it’ll really save you some shots it’s a very easy technique to master the key to it is learning to hold that angle the whole time a lot of instructors have gone away from teaching this method because players have a hard time keeping that angle but if you’ll learn how to do it uh prender will work hack motion will work or just you literally feeling what it feels like to maintain that angle the whole time and you’ll be a better chipper and pitcher of the hey for all you guys that are watching our Channel we get a lot of requests and where we teach at and what’s going on absolutely um we’re putting together a package to go to doozi this fall yeah so we’ll get some details on it but it’ll be a short game Clinic full swing Clinic 18 holes of golf each day all the food and drinks you can handle and and uh so stay tuned if anybody’s interested you can drop us a comment or whatever and we’ll get back to you we’ll put a link down in the description you can sign up if you’re interested in um you put your information we’ll we’ll contact you that way that that course is beautiful we put a lot of videos out um filming we did a playing lesson where we played together and then we did a couple short games some bunker stuff and that course it’s just unbelievable so yeah they got Cottages you can stay at so I’m looking at the dates right now with them and uh where I can get all the cottages and where we can all stay together and stay there and spend a couple days together and work on some stuff and and play some golf at dzi golf club that’ll be fun yep cool

I'm am so in on this if my schedule permits! Great idea, guys. Thank you!
Here in New England we more times than not are chipping from 2" to 3" high grass. What set up or stroke difference is needed? Thanks Bob K
Are you letting the club lie naturally or are you hooding it a little?
Was wondering where the sensei had been
So hinge and hold.
Great tip. If Scottie is using it, it's worth putting in the repertoire.
This guy sounds so much like santa in A Year Without A Santa Claus
Great video Ed, thanks for your time.
Another good video but you dont mention Bermuda grain which is prevalent in the south..I get the set up, weight distribution , forward shaft, fingers etc but angle or drop into ball against Bermuda grain will stub the club..any thoughts?
I think between this video and a short game clinic video you posted 7 months ago…I finally heard what you were saying (got it thru my thick head) about holding your wrist position thru impact. I tried it with a 58 degree wedge yesterday from a pretty tight lie and was able to his high and low shots. Depending on where my hands were in relation to the club head and with a change in ball position. Thanks.
Yes golf school sounds good
I’m interested, please send me some more information
I’m interested to join the clinic. Please send dates and location
Question: what make of lob wedge do you use?
I'm interested in your golf clinic
Please let me know about your upcoming clinic. Thanks
