I Play All 57 Golf Courses In Bangkok Thailand! 🇹🇭

hello and welcome back to Parano Today we are starting new series We’re going to play all the courses here in Bangkok Thailand So far I’ve reviewed and played if my memory serves me correct 14 courses during the past six months here in in Bangkok and vicinity So I won’t be starting starting with those courses but I’m starting with Royal Lakeside Eastern Bangkok But yeah I think I’ve played 14 or reviewed 14 out of 57 courses First of all I’m not 100% sure that 57 is the right number That’s what I gathered from Google and other sources and I can double check it later on The plan is to play couple rounds per week and always pick a new course and always make a review There’s going to be couple tough ones like Stonehill It’s absolutely impossible to go and play there but I don’t know how we’re going to manage to do that And Robinswood is another one And so let’s see how it goes Lots of golf coming up and lots of golf courses here in Bangkok And now we’re going to start with Royal Lakeside And let’s go and review it Tag along Let’s go So one more time welcome to the new series and episode one of Farang Golf Playing all the golf courses in Bangkok vicinity It was little bit of a challenge to try to list all the courses around here AI and Google searches are a little bit limited since most of the courses they are technically not in Bangkok but in adjacent provinces and cities So let’s use number 57 as a target and update it if there’s new courses popping up or I forgot to mention some of the courses I’m so privileged to be able to live in this beautiful city with so many golf courses and options to choose from And and today I was in for a surprise again when I arrived at Royal Lakeside Golf Course And arriving at the course after sitting in a taxi for 1 and a half hours from the other side of the city I was in for the first surprise The clubhouse was quite beautiful to be honest Maybe some would consider it a little bit tacky with the Mediterranean type of built and and design but I I found it beautiful and it was really wellmaintained and kept On top of the beautiful clubhouse they also had something that I haven’t seen on on any other courses so far here in Bangkok They had a couple pool tables in the lobby and a dedicated bar next to the pool tables Obviously they had the the usual restaurant as well but this was something extra and I was surprised to see the pool tables here I guess since the course is quite far away from Bangkok So if you come here you might stick around and and have few drinks and play some pool after the round Maybe that’s what they had in mind when they built it A thing to bear in mind if you come and play here is the fact that they don’t have driving range here So instead of going and and dislocating my shoulder I went straight to the restaurant on arrival and ordered what else but the usual crap mukrop which they had here And I have to say the surprises continue The food was good but the surprise wasn’t the good quality of the food but the prices on the menu The restaurant is really expensive At least according to the Thai standards Obviously if you live in US or let’s say Australia or Europe the prices are still reasonable But paying 300 BT plus for a Thai dish is outrageous I guess it’s the location It’s far from Pata far from Bangkok So if you come here you don’t really have any options But yeah the quality of the food was good but just was surprised by the high prices of everything in the restaurant Then regarding the prices we played here on a Labor Day and Labor Day being public holiday the prices are typically same as weekend prices So a little bit higher than usual This course is yet again another course that is a little bit further away from Bangkok And these courses need to win the customers somehow And it usually means that the quality of the course is way better than on the city courses and the prices are lower We paid 2,200 B for a round of golf call including cart and caddy That being public holidays last weekend price is obviously cheaper than in the central Bangkok And even though you pay a little bit more for the transportation to get to the course it’s still a great deal and I was happy with the price As usual check out the description for the golf courses website and Facebook pages to obtain the accurate promotions and price information when you are planning to come and play here If the clubhouse is really nice and grand same cannot be said regarding the pro shop The pro shop was quite underwhelming and tiny There wasn’t too much selection there but I guess you could purchase a ball marker or or a set of these as a souvenir from here if needed The highlight of the pro shop was definitely the black cat sleeping on the office chair in the corner of the pro shop Heading to the locker rooms I wasn’t sure what to expect after seeing the clubhouse Mediterranean theme And as expected they hadn’t run out of imagination when they picked the colors of the locker rooms On top of the funky colors I was surprised to see that the locker rooms built 1993 when the club was opened they were quite airy and nice Of course the 2011 renovations have also left their mark in these lockers So they are not from 30 years back but overall quite decent lockers and I was happy to shower there after a round of golf Amenities left some room for improvement and were quite basic Couple things to mention while we find our way to the first tea First of all if Best Ocean has its own airport at the golf course Royal Lakeside has its own yacht marina here So if you come from Bangkok or Pate and you happen to have a yacht you can park it here and play around of golf Another nice thing is the fact that they tell you the green speeds and the rotating pin locations already at the clubhouse Thirdly outside the locker rooms there is this lovely lady offering shoe cleaning services There is no fixed price but you pay what you feel is fair for the cleaning service So far I’ve gotten multiple nice surprises here at the Royal Lakeside and the course condition being yet another great positive surprise After playing multiple courses like Pana and Bangkok Golf Club and being really happy with the course conditions I’ve been kind of scared to go and review the next courses since I’m afraid that the the courses might not meet the level of the previous courses I played on I found the course to be quite easy and remember telling my friends that if I would play this course a couple times in a row I think I could break 90 quite easily The reason for that might be that I guess the wind should come in play on this course since it’s close to the river and close to the sea So on this day it wasn’t particularly windy So maybe the course was a little bit easier than normally It is the beginning of the rainy season and even though it hasn’t been raining too much lately The water level was quite high on the ponds and the river close by the course So maybe that’s something you should keep in mind if you come here and play later during the rainy season when it rains a lot more I’m not 100% sure about this but I’m afraid that the river might overflow onto the fairways and make the playing impossible certain times of the year You probably saw the green speeds earlier in the video but when the green speeds are more than I’m always a happy boy So yeah the greens were nice My my friend complained that he had difficulty stopping the ball So maybe they were a little bit on the harder side that day but other than that I really enjoyed the greens and putting here Let’s then talk about the caddies As per usual they have little bit mixed back when it comes to the caddies Royal Lakeside has the cute grandma types and some younger beautiful caddies as well You might notice that my caddy was way prettier than my friend’s caddies on this day And there is a reason for that As I promised earlier I will be presenting you with a caddy booking application that you can utilize as well when you come to Thailand and want to book a caddy for yourself Booking desired caddies on different golf courses has been little bit complicated earlier You need to know somebody or utilize the golf courses own app to book your caddy But now there is finally a solution for you to book caddies on all courses through one and single app Golfland app and website lets you see all the available caddies on all courses On top of that you get to choose your desired type of caddy They have caddies that are good at entertaining and they have caddies that are good at helping you on the course You also get to see other golfers reviews of the caddies and how much the caddies are hoping to get tipped after the round I personally hope they will also later add caddies language skills into the app it would be convenient for a lot of you to see if the caddy can speak English or not So yeah I booked my caddy through the app to try it out and see how it is And I was more than happy with my Caddy So yeah huge thanks to Golfland application I know it’s still in the early stages but at the time of editing this video there is almost 700 caddies registered in the app So check it out There’s links to the website and line application in the description I personally think that this is game changer when it comes to the caddy booking in Thailand We’ve been talking about it during the rounds that somebody should make a application to make the booking process easier and now it’s reality So I’m really really happy happy for that Let’s then talk about the value for money when it comes to the Royal Lakeside I’d say it’s quite good value especially on this Labor Day We were looking for multiple courses but since it’s public holiday the prices were quite inflated Royal Lakeside was offering quite good deal with 2,200 B I also saw that they have the sports day promotion like most golf courses around Bangkok do And then the price was 2,000 B So even lower than that The regular weekday price was also competitive So yeah you lose a little bit money with the transport to the course and back but you’ll get it back with the cheaper green fee and great course conditions At least now when it’s not the peak rainy season and and the course is not flooding Would I come back to Royal Lakeside Yes I would come back here It’s competing really well with the main competitor being Bangakong Riverside next door and the offering is pretty similar They both are similar distance away from Bangkok and offer similar course conditions with similar pricing I would always check both courses websites and Facebook pages for the best promotion on the day that you are planning on playing around here and then make my decision As for the caddies I would always use Coloffland app on both courses to pick caddy of my liking Now that we started the tremendous task of playing all the golf courses here in Bangkok and vicinity I think it’s fitting to change the rating criteria a little bit as well It’s difficult to differentiate the courses when you can only utilize three four or five stars in your reviews So let’s change it to 0 to 100 And the first score is 82 out of 100 for Royal Lakeside Golf Club So it goes to the number one spot obviously being the first course reviewed out of all the Bangok courses Couple things before we wrap this video up First of all you need line application It’s a messaging app similar to WhatsApp in order to utilize the Golfland caddy booking app The website is not up and running at the moment So the only way to utilize the app at the moment is through the line app So let me know in the comments how you found the app and how was the caddy offering there when you checked it out Secondly you have a chance to affect which soon as there is a Monday that is not a public holiday Tana city has sports day on Monday So it’s cheaper to play there on Monday But lately all the Mondays have been public holidays So the prices
